Ezekiel 26

1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of theLord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

3 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

4 And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock.

5 It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God: and it shall become a spoil to the nations.

6 And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

7 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.

8 He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee.

9 And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers.

10 By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach.

11 With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: he shall slay thy people by the sword, and thy strong garrisons shall go down to the ground.

12 And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise: and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water.

13 And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.

14 And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the Lord have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

15 Thus saith the Lord God to Tyrus; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?

16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee.

17 And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it!

18 Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure.

19 For thus saith the Lord God; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;

20 When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;

21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God.

    20 When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;
WHO DO WE CONSIDER OUR SELVES TO BE ??? DO WE HAVE THE GLORY OF GOD??? WHERE ARE WE ………. ARE WE INHABITED??? AND IF WE ARE, BY WHAT ARE WE INHABITED??? JESUS!!! I HAVE JESUS DWELLING IN ME HALELUJAH!!! JESUS!!! IF I HAVE JESUS THEN I HAVE EVERYTHING AND IF I DONT HAVE JESUS THEN I HAVE NOTHING!!! SANTO SANTO SANTO!!!

  3. Simple Warning DO NOT SPEAK AGAINST JERUSALEM

Because Tyrus spoke against Jerusalem, God destroys it.
21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God.
When Tyrus spoke against Jerusalem, they didn’t know what hit them… as it is seen in verse 21 God not only destroyed it, He vanished it from existence. Never to be found again. May we always remember to only speak blessings to Jerusalem. In Jesus Name AMEN

  4. 4 And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock.

When it is scraped clean like the top of a rock, there is no soil left to plant in, so there will never be a harvest there, no hope of future growth!

  5. ILove to eat the Word
Be careful not to speak ill of Gods people. Even if Gods judgement is against them and it was Gods Hand that humbled them, it would be better for us not to raise a word against them.

2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

  6. THE WISDOM OF BLESSING ISRAEL

Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste: Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up. And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock. (Ezekiel 26:2-4 KJV)

As we understand the BLESSING of GOD upon the linage of Abraham which we are! We realize the tragedy and the triumph of how we treat Israel. We are wise to learn the pain of rejoicing over another’s troubles and blessing in supporting one another in times of trial.

    Pray this prayer every day!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. (Psalms 122:6 KJV)

  7. 2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

3 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

Even though God was correcting Jerusalem they were still Gods chosen people. We should always honor the people of God and not speak against them because they belong to Him. David honored the fact that Saul was anointed by God despite how Saul treated him because he was anointed by God. We should do the same with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

    1 Chronicles 16:22
    Saying, Touch not mine anointed,
and do my prophets no harm.

  8. 2 “Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Ha! She who was the gateway to the rich trade routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir! Because she has been made desolate, I will become wealthy!’
3 “Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am your enemy, O Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the waves of the sea crashing against your shoreline. (NLT)

We shouldn’t speak against God’s people, we only deal ourselves the hand of God’s destruction.

  9. When the adversary has been battling us steady for a long time and the tide changes, do we celebrate? I do. However, we should never celebrate the fall or stumbles off our fellow believers. The Message version states Tyre cheered at the calamity of Jerusalem. Most of this book has been about how mad God is at Jerusalem. That does not allow for people to mock and make fun of Gods people.

“They had it coming” “Its about time” “they made your bed, now lay in it”

None of these idioms should be associated with our fellow believers.

  10. 20 When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living

hes giving us so much and did so much took us outta places,we asked him to healed pains we prayed for him to do and loved us more then anyone on this earth ever did he walked with us through fire and was there for us from day one.he heard our crys
I LOVE YOU JESUS TY LORD FOR EVERYTHING LORD ❤

  11. 2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

3 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

Don’t mess with God’s people, hallelujah God’s got the back of his people

  12. 13 And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.
14 And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the Lord have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

When we listen to the world speak ,God is silenced. EGO. Edging God Out. When we stay humble and in the will of God. Then we stay true.

  13. 2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

3 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

The revenge belongs to the Lord and He is the righteous judge. He will repay everyone according to their actions. In here we see how this other people gets punished pretty much for mocking and being glad at the distruction of another. The main message that I can get from this is pretty much to mind your own business…do not get in the middle of who the Lord rebukes or blesses. He is the righteous judge.

Proverbs 24:17-18 Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;don’t be happy when they stumble. For the Lord will be displeased with youand will turn his anger away from them.

  14. Ezekiel prophesied the destruction of Tyre, a prophecy that was fulfulled in two stages(Ezek.26:3-21). The first stage came true when Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, besieged the mainland city of Tyre for 13 yrs and apparently destroyed it. The second stage was fulfilled in 332 B.C., when Alexander the Great besieged the island city of Tyre for seven months. He finally captured it when he built a causeway from the mainland to the island. During the Roman Period Tyre was again rebuilt, eventually achieving a degree of prosperity(Matthew 11:21,22; Acts 21:1-7).

  15. Vs.2, “Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem. Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:”
Vs.3, “Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.”

Don’t ever make fun of God’s people for God will judge you.

We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

  16. Why we offer Praises to God

And I will cause the noise of your songs to cease, and the sound of your lyres shall be no more heard. (Ezekiel 26:13 AMP)

What to do when you’ve lost your joy

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Exod. 19:5, 6.] (1 Peter 2:9 AMP)

Four-fold reasons for Praise to God
    1. Chosen Generation- He has hand picked us.

May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm! Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]– [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6 AMP)

    2. Royal Priesthood –

[Come] and, like living stones, be yourselves built [into] a spiritual house, for a holy (dedicated, consecrated) priesthood, to offer up [those] spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5 AMP)

And formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and Father–to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen (so be it). [Exod. 19:6; Isa. 61:6.] (Revelation 1:6 AMP)

    3. Holy Nation- The purpose of Chastisement-Chastisement causes us to be holy as He is Holy

For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness. (Hebrews 12:10 AMP)

    4. Peculiar people – the law written upon their hearts. The Word & blog are so important. It makes us a peculiar people.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. (Hebrews 8:10 AMP)

Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. [Ezek. 37:27.] (Revelation 21:3 AMP)

The Lord has hand picked us and that makes us royality. He loves us so much that he correctes us and doesn’t leave us the same way he found us. His law has been engraved upon our hearts. Let’s show the praise of Him who has called us out if darkness into His marvelous light.

  17. 21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God.

Wow….not good! It isn’t like God doesn’t warn!

To never be found, what a tragedy and an horrible ending to a city or generation.

    “Keep Your Place”……………………………”Be Blessed”…………………

  18. 7 The Lord God proclaims:
    I’m bringing Nebuchadrezzar against Tyre,
the king of Babylon from the north,
    the greatest of all kings,
    with horses, chariots, and charioteers,
    an assembly, a great army.
8 The towns around you he will destroy with the sword.
Then he will build towers against you,
    erect siege ramps against you,
    and set up shields.
    9 He will pound his battering ram against your walls;
with crowbars he will tear down your towers.
10 The dust from all his horses will cover you
    when he enters your gates
as one who enters a breached city.
    Your walls will quake
at the thundering of the charioteers and chariot wheels.
    11 His horses’ hooves will trample all your courtyards;
he will cut down your people with the sword,
and the monuments to your strength he will bring down[a] to the ground.
12 They will destroy your wealth, plunder your goods,
tear down your walls, and raze your fine houses.
Your stone, lumber, and rubble they will dump into the sea. CEB version

  19. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;
and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord

It doesn’t matter what the enemy says, or does the Lord will come to the defense of his people. Even in the midst of “correction” God still shows his love, and relationship with his people.

  20. 3 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

It’s a terrible thing to have God against you. When we sin, we go against God. God’s blessings will come, when we follow his word.

  21. Again we find a city that will suffer the vengeance of the Lord because they are rejoicing in the calamity that Jerusalem has faced. God help us all not to take pleasure when someone is struggling, especially someone who is making their way towards God and needing us to show them the way, and be a rock for them to lean on, and an example for them to follow.

  22. This chapter illustrates caution. Tyrus actions cost them dearly. One must exercise caution, elsewise it could cost one dearly; “Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  23. Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. -Psalms 25:6

The Lord is gracious to me. I am thankful for his mercies that are fresh every morning.

  24. Victory

13 And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.

    Revelation 15:2-4
2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire:and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

There will be a day when the songs of the enemy are forever silenced and the songs of the saints will ring on forevermore! I’m reminded of the song:

Some glad morning we shall see Jesus in the air
Coming after you and me, joy is ours to share
What rejoicing there will be when the saints shall rise
Headed for that jubilee yonder in the skies

Oh what singing, Oh what shouting
On that happy morning when we all shall rise
    Oh what glory, Hallelujah
When we meet our blessed Savior in the skies

When with all the heavenly hosts we begin to sing
Singing in the Holy Ghost, how the heavens will ring
Millions there will join in song, with them we shall be
Praising Christ through ages long, heaven’s jubilee

What a jubilee when it is fulfilled that death is swallowed up in victory! But we don’t have to wait, the time to live in victory and give praise is now.

    Psalm 107:1-2
1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy

    1 Corinthians 15:54-57
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  25. 5 It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God: and it shall become a spoil to the nations.

  26. 21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God.

It’s one thing to be lost but it is a tragedy when you are lost and can not be found.

  27. Its not wise to speak against Gods people. Tyre has found itself on the wrong end of a dreadful prophesy. A prophesy is not meant for the doom saying of someone or something. Prophesies step in as warnings to give room for repentance or in some cases to get things in order to prepare you for a blessing. Prophesies are windows into the spiritual world that is manifest by our earthly works. A prophesy is not, as many people believe, set in stone. We can change an outcome by repenting and getting things in order. In this cased Tyre became boastful and rejoiced at the demise of Jerusalem. Jerusalem has always been and always will be protected by its father. Its not wise to mess with Gods children. If we understand this principle then I’m led to believe that anyone, brothers and sisters included, that speak against Gods people are in trouble.

    Mic 7:8
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

let our toungs not be the enemy of our brethren.

    Pro 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

It may not kill them but it is slowly putting you to death

Speak life and you shall gain life!

  28. The world is a cruel place and when we come into the house of The Lord we should be able to let our walls down and feel comfortable around our fellow worshipers. However the sad thing is, many don’t. It is never our place to judge because that is for God to do.

  29. Michael- listen to God no matter what. Let your troubles be small and let your troubles fall behind you. If you don’t then your troubles will be a mess and you will be a mess and your troubles will be huge. If you do what God says your troubles will fall behind you and you will be with Hod a whole bunch. You may even be his mate. If you do what God says you will be really happy in your heart. So if you listen to God you will get the best heart and you will spread good hearts everywhere.

    The Spirit of Man

2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

In this world people are always looking out for themselves. When someone stumbles we see that as our opprotunity to step over them to get where we want to go. It then happens that whatever they have that we want, fame, glory, position, or their stuff, we take.

This is not the way that God raises His people. It is the mentality of the world instead.
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 KJV)

We must have the mind of Christ for the rulers of this world would have us step on and over people while Christ would have us help them up.

Lord help me to help those around me. Help me not to have a worldly mind that would just take what they have for myself. Lord help me not to be selfish any longer. In Jesus name. –Amen.

  30. 20 When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;

What a loss, to see their blessing handed to someone else, and to be placed back in the place of lack and want that they had been blessed to grow out from.

Many times people have tendancies to run back to whatever they are used to, but sometimes, we, people, leave God no option but to place us in a hard spot so that we learn to lean on him, and not our own understanding…

  31. Ain’t no rest for the Wicked

2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

Tyre, the capital of Phoenicia, rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem because it believed it would gain financially from trade advantages now that Judah was out of the picture. Tyre’s desire for wealth with no thought of the suffering it caused brought God’s judgement. The city was subjugated by the Babylonians, next the Persiands, and the the Greeks, led by Alexander the Great.

Whenever we put our successes before the sufferings of others, we subject ourselves to the judgement of God.

  32. “Aha!” That one word tensely expresses Tyre’s response when Jerusalem is conquered. They gloat. They are thrilled. Now that Jerusalem is destroyed and her gates lie open, they will have free rein to enter her and gain plunder for themselves. With no thought of the devestation to their neighbors, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the inhabitants of Tyre think only of adding wealth to their personal treasury. Tyre’s location is on a seaport, a place where ships of merchandise dock and ship goods. Wealth is nothing new. Pride and arrogancy resound from their “Aha” statement.

God does not take their attitude toward His people or His holy cty lightly. Through Ezekiel He pronounces judgment on Tyre, stating that wave after wave of nations will come in and conquer and destroy their city. Their judgment begins with king Neb, who besieges the city for 15 years, begining shortly after the destruction of Jerusalem. Throughout the history of Tyre, she has been under the rule of one nation after another-God’s judgment fulfilld.
