Ezekiel 32

1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

3 Thus saith the Lord God; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my net.

4 Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.

5 And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height.

6 I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.

7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God.

9 I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.

10 Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

11 For thus saith the Lord God; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.

12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

13 I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them.

14 Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord God.

15 When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the Lord.

16 This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the LordGod.

17 It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of theLord came unto me, saying,

18 Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.

19 Whom dost thou pass in beauty? go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.

20 They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.

21 The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

22 Asshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:

23 Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.

24 There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.

25 They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.

26 There is Meshech, Tubal, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living.

27 And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

28 Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.

29 There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.

30 There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.

31 Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword, saith the Lord God.

32 For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God.

  1. 1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Well, today is the first day of the twelfth month again; let’s see what the Word of the Lord would say to us today, both in written Word and by the Word spoken through the man of God…

  2. 32 For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God.

    REBELLION ON DISPLAY

This should remind us of what God thinks of rebellion. The books of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Lamentations show us that God may give us time to repent, but he will finally bring us down.

  3. 1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

    Oh what will happen today!?

This is the beginning of the 12th year for our church. It is the 12th month of this year and the first day of the month. My expectation level is high. Listen for what God says for the new year. Just imagine what will happen.

  4. The Uncircumcised

32 For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God.

In those times only the Israelites were circumcised, so to be uncircumcised meant that you did not believe in the One True God. Most likely you had many gods…an idolater. Now the physical circumcision of flesh is no longer needed, but we still circumcise the flesh by not giving to the pleasures of the flesh. We circumcise by having the Holy Ghost in us and setting ourselves apart from the world; 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Therefore, just like the Israelites we need to circumcise ourselves from this world and its idolatry, it is the only way to avoid the sword of the Lord in time of judgement. Circumcise in the flesh by avoiding its pleasures and separating from this world by being in the Holy Ghost.

  5. The exiles in Babylon had recently learned of Jerusalems fall when Ezekiel chanted this dirge in 585bc. Egypt had witnessed the fall. Ezekiel pitures that great sourthen land as already dead. God has condemned her and none of her many gods wil be able to help.

  6. THE FATHER OF LIGHT

7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God.

Darkness identifies with evil or judgement. Most often in dark times we blame or give credit to the devil for what is going wrong. We learn from these writings of Ezekiel that it is wise for us to examine ourselves for any sin or transgressions that we may repent of before the total judgement of GOD falls on our lives and the world we live in.

GOD owns darkness because HE is THE FATHER OF LIGHT. Since he owns it he also can use it however and whenever he desires, for whatever purpose at any time.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

We must PRAY and LIVE so that the LIGHT (JESUS) will remain in our lives.

John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Thank you JESUS for being LIGHT in my LIFE.

  7. This chapter illustrates power. Pharaoh’s strength although great, was no comparison for what was before him. There is only one that is all powerful; “For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  8. As the year starts today to come to an end, now is the time to reflect over the year. Learn from the mistakes you’ve made and the mistakes you’ve helped others through. Grow stronger and wiser in God. Cherish the memories made in 2013. Everything that has happened, made us who we are today.
Now is the time to rejoice and set your expectations for the coming up year!

  9. Intercess for the world

For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God. (Ezekiel 32:32 KJV)

We need to stand the gap and try to prevent as much of this as possible for our generation. Jesus came to save the lost. Let’s win this world on our knees in prayers.

  10. iLove to eat the Word

1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me…”

I’m glad The Pentecostals of Fort Worth’s 12 year sounds better than the prophecy of Pharaoh’s.

As long as we remain humble, God will use us to be a blessing to the nations.

  11. 3 Thus saith the Lord God; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my net.

  12. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

We must be careful that we do not become a stumbling block and cause others to fall because of our example. Daily we must pray against the spirit of deception so that we are not overtaken and lose out with God this close to His coming.

  13. When the lights go out

7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God.

Your in a bad spot when God turns the light out on you. If you cannot see in the battle it’s not going to take very long for the enemy to get the upper hand. You can reverse the creative hand of God all the way back to creation if he turns the light off on you. You will no longer be separated by the light from the dark so you become the darkness.

  14. 17 It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of theLord came unto me, saying,

pastor declared that this is our 12 year the year of completion. The year of fullness…I believe this year we week see some of the greatest blessing ever in the spirit!

  15. Like Oil

Egypt’s future is no different from any other nation that has disdained God and treated God’s people violently. Although Egypt has had a powerful and prominent past, her future looks dark. In describing all that will happen to the once mighty nation, Ezekiel describes her streams in a strange, almost spooky manner. Egypt’s streams will no longer flow freely and vigorously. The water in them will instead flow “like oil” (vs14). This picture of a future drought in Egypt is part of God’s judgment of the nation. Egypt’s glory os the mighty Nile River. But it too will be affected; there will be so little water in it that it will flow sluggishly. Without water, the nation will be defeated. God’s purpose is clear, as it is for the judgment he delivers to every rebelious nation: “They wil know that I am the Lord” (vs15)

  16. Fleeting Beauty

    Ezekiel 32:19 NLT
Say to them, ‘O Egypt, are you lovelier than the other nations? No! So go down to the pit and lie there among the outcasts.’

    Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

In this life we may be tempted to build castles of sand, things of pleasant surface beauty no eternal worth. There is in mindset that says, as long is this life is full, you have lived well, but we know this life is but a moment compared to eternity. We must live with our eyes on the eternal things of God and be mindful that this world is temporal and it’s beauty fleeting. No matter how beautiful a life we have here, beauty will not save us, we must be entered in to the eternal life God has made available for us.

    Hebrews 11:13-16
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

  17. 10 Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

The day of fall.. Example after example, we see that the Lord started at home correcting His people, then nation after nation suffering the cause of their inequities, rebellion and sins. He deals with everyone and every one has the opprtunity to hear the same message then we are given a time, grace, to repent and seek Him, but after the words have been given then He acts on His words. The greatest privilege we have is choice. Choose to sin, choose to suffer…obey and be blessed.

  18. It is evident in this chapter that God has warned Egypt, the King of Egypt and all his power is about to come down along with everything and everyone in it. There is one King all powerful. That is our Lord, Jesus Christ, he reigns and is owner every thing. I seek you Lord.

  19. THe Swords !! The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword. Assh’-ur is there and all her company, E’-lam and all her multitude Me’-shech, Tu’-bal, and all her multitude, There is E’-dom, her kings, and all her princes, There be the princes, of the north, all of them, and all the Zido’-ni-ans, and Pha’raohand all his multitudes.

  20. 28 Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.

You can’t expect to rise when you are laying with the fallen. Be careful of which parties of people you associate yourself with, it may be the distruction of you if it’s the wrong crowd. Birds of a feather flock together.
