Ezekiel 33

1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

22 Now the hand of the Lord was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

23 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?

27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

29 Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

  1. Ezekiel the Watchman

Watchmen stood on the walls of a city and watched for the enemy. Their job was to warn the inhabitants of any impending danger. Then it was up to the inhabitants to take cover. Ezekiel is Judah’s watchman and God’s spokesman (vs7). He has the words of warning from God, and it is his responsibility to communicate those words to the people. The it’s up to the people. Then it’s up to the people to take appropriate action, which in this case would be to repent of their sins and rebelion. Ezekiel’s job is to faithfully fulfill his duty as watchman. Only the people can decide how they will respond.

We also have a duty as “watchmen” today. God’s message of love, forgiveness and salvation must be communicated, and has been intrusted to us. We cannot control how people will respond. Only they can decide to believe in God’s message and be saved, or turn from Him and be lost.

  2. 10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right

i have so much faith to believe that my family friends and those i run into and surrounded around outside of church will be in church because if the lord can bring me from outta somewere i thought id never leave then he can bring the whole nation wide (in jesus name)
what would i do without you jesus…..lord i thank you lord and as long as i have breath in my body and im breathing im here till the day you take me away doing the wonderful work of you lord with a smile on my face and ready to kick the devil in face and push him back to were he came from<3 i love you daddy

  3. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

    THE WATCHMAN

I thank God for the watchman! God has always used men (people) to speak to his people. The Lord calls men to work for him and so with Ezekiel, God said I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel.
If we could take notice of what his job is.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Here Ezekiel delivered his soul when he warned the wicked of his way.

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

The watchman must blow the trumpet and warn the people, if he fail to warn the people. The people of this people will be on the watchman.

This is one of the most important parts of being a watchman, you have to do your job. It may not always be easy, but will always be right.

I want to here THANK GOD FOR OUR WATCHMAN! We need to pray everyday for Pastor and Sis. Watts. He has an awesome responsibility and always will need God to lead him.

  4. 4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

We have been warned, our watchman has blown his trumpet ( and whistle, and ram’s horn )… now it is up to us to heed the warning and live righteously, saving ourselves from the sword meant for the wicked.

  5. Wow! So much in this chapter today.

Vs.7, “So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”
Heb.13:17 says, “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves to them: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
I Thank God for the watchman he has set over the house of POFW. What a responsibility he has to watch out for each and everyone of us. Let us keep Pastor and Sis. Watts always in our prayers.

Vs.18-19, “When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.”
I believe this proves the old saying wrong, “Once saved always saved.” For the soul that sinneth, it shall surely die. But, thank God for his mercy and grace that gives us another chance to repent and turn from our wicked ways.

Vs.31, “And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear they words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
Matt.15:8 says, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me.”
Titus 1:16 says, “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”

Vs.32, “And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear they words, but they do them not.”
James 1:22-24 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”
I have always felt Pastor is an anointed and pleasant speaker, but I don’t want his words to be just like a lovely song to me. I want the words of God that he speaks to penatrate my heart. I want them to convict me and change me, so that, I am not just a hearer of the word, but also a doer of the word. I don’t want to be a pew sitter and hear pleasant words, but I want to be a life changer sharing the words of God with others.

  6. The watchmen

Eze 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

The word says if he DOESNT warn this is a sin of iniquity. This reveals it is God’s will for the warning to come. When we don’t warn we follow our own will, our own agenda, and not his.

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

They’re gonna talk about you. They will make fun of you, laugh, ridicule, and belittle. Like Pastor said “you can’t stop everyone from taking advantage of you”

32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

Many will just look at it as entertainment. However there are others who will heed the warning, and save their soul. There is hope for all! Watchmen warn the people regardless of the costs.

  7. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

Thank God for a watchman over us.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

The Pastor has an obligation to God and to us to warn us from ensuing trouble. He will be held accountable for all of us at judgment. So we have to remember that its going to be tight sometimes when he has to warn us of what he sees but we have to know that he is our watchmen.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

If we do not listen, the liability is turned back over to us.

There are so many ways to die lost in this word but if we can stay under our covering and also watch for one another, this life becomes alot easier.

  8. 31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

Oh to hear this great gospel and turn away. I have seen in my life many people have blessings and warnings over their lives. And yet most did not heed to them.
What keeps us from doing what God speaks to us? Is it pride? The flesh says it cannot happen, because it does not make sense. This is one of the greatest hinderences in our lives. This is why we must take up our cross and follow Jesus everyday.

  9. We need to be the watchman

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

    3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

Take warning POFW, we are the watchman of FT. Worth, we must outreach for the lost, we must walk the streets sounding the alarm so those that can be save and heed the warnings will be spared. At the same time, we as watchman, if we fail to sound the alarm, if we fail to walk those streets and warned the lost, we are responsible for their blood. As our Pastor encourage us to imagine creatively and took us through the lyrics of the song, I do not want to stand in front of my Lord and Savior and hear ” I selected you for a watchman and you did not sound the alarm ” or “you sounded the alarm but not loud enough for any to hear “. To have the blood of those people stain my hands. No, by no ways, NO!!!!! I will speak HIS truth loudly for ALL to hear. I want to listen to my Lord say “welcome my good and faithful servant”, those are the words that I imagine over and over again as His hands embrace me. Nothing else will do. It is time to take our responsibility as watchman very serious. Speak with everyone, no matter what. Tell them about Christ, tell them about being baptize in Jesus Name, and being filled with His Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. Tell it in the mountains, tell it in the streets, tell it in the highways, and why not tell it in the dead end streets. The day is TODAY, the time is NOW!!!!! GO, TEACH, MAKE DISCIPLES, AND TEACH SOME MORE!!!!!!

    • As I read the other comments, it saddens me that we have put all the responsibility of the watchman on our Pastor; it is not only his job, but ours… Yes, he is our Spiritual Leader and what a leader he is; but when the time comes, Jesus will ask you about the cashier that greeted you, or the waitress at your favorite restaurant, or the man that sleeps under the bridge close to your house. WE ARE ALL WATCHMAN… be alert, and sound the alarm.

  10. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Thank God for a watchmen that will tell me when I am messing my life up and help me get back on the straight and narrow.

  11. THANK GOD FOR WATCHMEN

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
    3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

The responsibility of a Pastor, his Staff and Ministry Leaders is recognized here. GOD gives man a WORD and the man is then responsible to warn the people, blow the trumpet, preach the word, send a caution or any other means to spread the word about impending trouble or judgement.

The very unfortunate situation is described in this chapter, if they do not heed the warning and repent or change their ways then the pain of judgment will be upon them.

However, if I fail to warn them or are afraid that their feelings may get hurt and do not say anything, their judgement is upon me. This is a very treacherous area and must be entered in cautiously, for the sake of the people involved. It must be a word of warning from GOD. Not just some feeling of personal preference. I thank GOD for the voices that GOD has placed in my life to warn me that I trust.

iPray for WISDOM is situations like these that GOD will speak and guide my heart and order my steps that none are lost and that NO blood is on my hands because I failed to warn.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  12. iLove to eat the Word

When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people

The first thing I noticed about this passage was that it was God that brought the sword and it was the people who set the watchman. That is the opposite of what I might have thought. My thinking was that the enemy would have brought the sword and God would have set the watchman.

I will meditate on these scriptures and pray for more understanding…

  13. 30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

Actions speak louder than words. We can profess from our mouth all day long but if our actions never back it up then our words mean nothing. We can go to church to hear what God is saying but if we never put into practice what He is saying then it’s all in vain, a show. There’s a saying that goes ” going to church makes you a Christian just as much as sitting in a garage makes you a car” there is so much truth to that. It’s not about our attendance, it’s about becoming like Jesus.

    Romans 10:14
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

We need to go to church, we need to hear what God is speaking to the church. But our actions will show if we believe it or even receive it.

    Matthew 15:8
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Back up what you say with your actions. Let there be a change of heart.

  14. I thank God for all the watchmen over my life, for all those who corrected me even though I had ignored their warnings, prayed for me when I chose wrong over right, and help guide me back to a right path so that I could develop a new and deeper relationship with God. Above all that, I thank God for his grace and mercy that kept me in those times, for his love that looked beyond all my faults and saw a brighter future in me. God you are so truly faithful and awesome!

  15. The message version states: 6 “‘But if the watchman sees war coming and doesn’t blow the trumpet, warning the people, and war comes and takes anyone off, I’ll hold the watchman responsible for the bloodshed of any unwarned sinner.”

Thank you 5 fold ministry for alerting us to the signs of war. I can empathize that some messages are not easily delivered due to their content, warnings and/or consequences. I can also guess that some warnings are not heeded. Thank you for continuing to impact our future together by stretching our faith.

  16. Again the word of The Lord came unto me. Thank you Jesus for your word, that is always with me to comfort, guide, and direct my pathway.

Take warning and deliverance will come The Lord will protect his people if we take heed to his word!

I invite the man of God to speak to me through the word of The Lord so that I will live and not die in mine iniquity. Thank you Jesus for a man of God that lives a life of integrity!

It is my desire to do what is lawful and right! A life that is aligned with the word of The Lord!

It is simple do what’s right and live or do what’s wrong and die for the wages of sin is death the payment and there is a payment required for sin consequence. But I want the gift from God eternal life!

  17. From the beginning of time at the creation of the garden, God chose to give man the freedom of choice. He placed within each of us a place that only He can fill with His presence, yet many people wander through life without having the greatest gift of all, His spirit living inside of them. God again in this chapter called for the wicked to turn from their ways of selfishness and sin and follow after Him. Judgement that was pronounced in this chapter had a way of escape if the people would just listen to what they were being told. How many of us find ourselves in this same situation. We hear the word, but we do our own thing, thinking it doesn’t apply to us. Lord help us!

  18. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Wow! Makes me think more about out reaching and not just on Saturday but everyday, we all have people who are living in sin that we know and if we don’t warn them about eternity and tell them about Jesus their blood could be on our hands. We do have to continue to reach out even if the person seems like a lost cause. God knows how many warnings and invites it took four Me Tio even consider going to church but her I ask, and that can be everybody. With patients and prayer our loved ones, friends and co-workers will come to the Lord. We just have to do our job of warning them and telling them about the blood of Jesus

  19. Ezekiels warnings threatened physical death for those who persisted in disobeying God. If the profit would not fullfilled his commision he would have come one of the disobient and would have been subject to physical death.

  20. It is our responsibility to proclaim the gospel. It is the hearer’s responsibility to receive it. It is up to us to receive what the Lord says through his preached word.

  21. See God loves us so much, he gives us options! Angels rejoice when one sinner repents. “NO PLEASURE”……….

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

In this next verse, it should be a reminder to us all.
“PAY THAT PLEDGE”…….”Die to self = O.K.” but to your pledge = “NO”….

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

  22. The sycophant

“As for you, son of man, your people who talk together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, say to one another, each to his brother, ‘Come, and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.’ And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain. (Ezekiel 33:30, 31 ESV)

History repeats itself. Today many people will go to church, enjoy the sermon, and leave unchanged. At least the feel good. Is this not some sort of distorted justification. I see it a lot, oh they are good people. Interesting. Good people? According to whom? The bible states God is good and if we are good then we are like God. That isn’t the case yet.

The sycophant isn’t fooling anyone, especially God. With soft words they flatter for their own carnal gain. Their mouths flourish but their hearts wither in desolation. They are like a beautiful flower in a drought. They wither away in the sun, they can’t endure the heat of affliction. The day of reckoning is at hand, those who aren’t serving God with their whole heart will be washed away by the storm. Service to God is obeying his commandments. It is doing what we hear. Our survival of the storms is contingent on our obedience to the word. Matt 7:24-27

  23. Faith can go a long way. Take you to places you’ve never been, grant you things you’ve never had, or bring you closer to God. The best part of all is that you only have to have faith the size of a mustard seed to receive!

  24. The Uncommitted

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. (Ezekiel 33:30-32 KJV)

These people play the part. They look like they want to listen and hear, but that is not true.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV)
For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance. (2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP)

Our actions tell more about what we are than our looks. Looks can be deceiving. The proof of obedience is in the fruit. What do you want your fruit to look like?

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. (Proverbs 1:31 KJV)
they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. (Proverbs 1:31 NIV)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:19-23 KJV)

Oh taste your fruit. Is it bitter or sweet?

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. (Psalms 34:8 KJV)

  25. But when all these terrible things happen to them—as they certainly will—then they will know a prophet has been among them.” (Ezekiel 33:33 NLT)

It’s sad that terrible things have to happen for people to realize the importance of a watchman and prophet in their lives.
Lord, I pray that I would be fine tuned to your voice and those you have placed over me to lead and guide me.

  26. This chapter illustrates space. They were afforded a space of time to act upon what they heard, yet they chose to ignore; “And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them”. One also has a space of time too either act upon what saith the word of God, or ignore it. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  27. #Watchmen
We all know its not an easy job for pators to always deliver the word. Especially when people want to ignore what the man of God is saying. We have to realize what Pastor teaches its coming from God. God is using him to speak to us. There are pastors that have seriouly gotten off tract and no longer delivers the word and change the word of God to please their flesh. There are souls at risk because of this and blood on that unannointed preacher hands. Truly we are ever so greatful for the man of God we have in our lives.

  28. The caption for this chapter in the MSG reads “You Are the Watchman”. This caught my attention because many would view that and say “that doesn’t really apply to me”; but, in reality we should ALL share the gospel, witness and shine for Jesus.

  29. The watchmen looks out for souls. There are times in all of our lives that we are blinded by the circumstances of life. It takes the word of the Lord to keep us on task and focused on the right things. I am glad to have both past and present Men of God who will say what thus saith the Lord.

Where human understanding ends the word of God is always crystal clear and precise when it comes to our lives.

According to this chapter the watchman is responsible for crying out against sin. We are blessed with a watchman who will not hold his peace when it comes to sin.

Thank God for his Word and for the watchman.

  30. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

I am thankful for the watchman in my life. We should pray for the watchman in our lives and to have a willinglness to hear and obey for it is for our own good.

  31. There are consequences for all sin. Punishment is explained in this chapter to all those who choose sin over righteousness. Thank you Lord for the watchman you have placed over me. It’s never too late, the Lord is merciful to those who turn away from sin.

  32. Conviction vs Condemnation

    2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

It is dangerous to resign to death in sin. The devil uses condemnation to say “it’s over” but God uses conviction to draw us by saying “come to Me.” Our problems are not our problem nearly as much us the fact that sin means separation from God. Getting restored in our relationship with God is the whole point, but the devil would have us distracted by looking at the sin instead of Jesus.

If we turn our eyes onto Jesus, conviction will draw us away from sin by drawing us to Him. Condemnation will point out sin but leave us in that pit of corruption instead of reach to pull us out. When condemnation comes, we must stop ourselves and ask “how does this get me to Jesus?” If it keeps us in death, it isn’t of God. His will is restoration, to use conviction not condemnation.

We have all fallen short of God’s glory but we must choose to believe that God desires restoration not condemnation. When we fall short and see our sin, our choice should be to seek Jesus. Feeding condemnation will drive us away from Him, but responding to conviction will lead us to Him. The choice is ours which voice we will feed and follow.

  33. THANK YOU JESUS for the watchmen !! 1. AGAIN the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2. Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: 3. If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; 4. Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. 5. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

  34. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

We are the light of this world. It is our responsibility to reach out to those who are lost. Preach to them the truth…
