Ezekiel 41

1 Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.

2 And the breadth of the door was ten cubits; and the sides of the door were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits.

3 Then went he inward, and measured the post of the door, two cubits; and the door, six cubits; and the breadth of the door, seven cubits.

4 So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place.

5 After he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of every side chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side.

6 And the side chambers were three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which was of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house.

7 And there was an enlarging, and a winding about still upward to the side chambers: for the winding about of the house went still upward round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house was still upward, and so increased from the lowest chamber to the highest by the midst.

8 I saw also the height of the house round about: the foundations of the side chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.

9 The thickness of the wall, which was for the side chamber without, was five cubits: and that which was left was the place of the side chambers that were within.

10 And between the chambers was the wideness of twenty cubits round about the house on every side.

11 And the doors of the side chambers were toward the place that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.

12 Now the building that was before the separate place at the end toward the west was seventy cubits broad; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits.

13 So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long;

14 Also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits.

15 And he measured the length of the building over against the separate place which was behind it, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner temple, and the porches of the court;

16 The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;

17 To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure.

18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;

19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

20 From the ground unto above the door were cherubims and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple.

21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other.

22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the Lord.

23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.

24 And the doors had two leaves apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door.

25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without.

26 And there were narrow windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch, and upon the side chambers of the house, and thick planks.

  1. The continued detailed description in this chapter shows how important detail is to God. Every detail in our lives, whether its what we say, what we do, what we hear, where we go, what we wear, etc. must be Jesus. We never know just what part of our lives God might use to speak to someone.

    Verses 21-22 CEV “The doorframe to the temple’s main room was in the shape of a rectangle. In front of the doorway to the most holy place was something that looked like a wooden altar. It was five feet high and four feet square,[f] and its corners, its base,[g] and its sides were made of wood. The man said, “This is a reminder that the Lord is constantly watching over his temple.””

  2. 1 Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.

    THE TEMPLE

    We have a great description of the temple that was built in this day. None other than the House of God. The place of worship of this day. If we remember that God gave Moses the instructions of the tabernacle in the times of the children of Israeli, when they were wandering in the wilderness. This is such a description with every detail and the measurements exactly the way God does things.
    God does not miss the little things. We have a tendency to overlook little things, but God does not. God is as sure with our lives as he is with a natural temple. Remember we are, our bodies is the temple of God.

    1 Cor 3:16-18

    16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

    17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

    18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

    Let us keep our bodies , The Temple of God ready to do service for God.

  3. Covered windows

    16 The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;

    The windows were covered allowing only so much light into the temple. This also meant small animals could not climb in through the windows. The windows were protected. Only what they wanted in came in, and what they wanted to stay out stood out.

    The Fire Bible says this
    EYE IS THE LAMP OF THE BODY. We must be extremely careful about what we look at and what we expose ourselves to. Our eyes are like lenses that flash images onto our minds–like film in a camera–leaving a graphic impression on our thoughts and memories. If we look at ungodly and impure images, they will cloud and corrupt our minds so that we will not be able to see what God has for us or where he wants to guide us. Yet, if we choose to expose ourselves to good and wholesome things, the Lord will continue to give us spiritual light and truth to our minds and guide us down the right paths for our lives (cf. Php 4:8).

    As temple’s of God it is imperative we protect the windows to our soul. An uncovered windows lets anything and everything in, and it will corrupt us. We cannot where the clothes of Jesus, and dine at the feast of Satan. Holiness is separation from The world, and unto God.

    “Oh be careful little eyes what you see”

  4. The temple was built to God’s specifications. How often do we overlook what God wants for what we want or at least what we “think” will please God. There is only one way, God’s way.

  5. Only the very best.

    We read here the blueprints for the tabernacle. What a sight it must have been to see. Just as they made the tabernacle with the very best, so God expects from us. To give Him of ourselves , the very best. Of our time, talent,and treasure.

  6. The Holy of Holies

    Thankful that Jesus is the Sanctuary in my temple… He lives in me by the Holy Ghost and He is the Holy of Holies. We must give as much attention to the temple in our hearts as God gave to the Temple in Israel. We need to take a close look, clean the junk out, measure everything, and get it ready for restoration by repentance. Our God is a God of details, He will be paying attention to the smallest corner of our heart. You will not be able to hide anything, so take it all out, let Him in, and He will get to work in the inside as well as the outside, for His Joy will be reflected everywhere in you.

  7. THE DETAILS ON THE DOOR

    17 To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure.
    18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;
    19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

    Even today when we frequent an office building or even a place of business, we are taught and even inclined to look for the door, a sign on the door to identify exactly where and what we are entering into. Consider the details about the door:

    These seem to represent the angels, who have more than the wisdom of a man and the courage of a lion; and in both they have an eye to the palms of victory and triumph which are set before them, and which they are sure of in all their conflicts with the powers of darkness.

    We should always be looking toward VICTORY (palm trees) and the vehicle is PRAISE (young lion) through SUPERNATURAL POWER (cherubim).

    THE DETAILS ON THE DOOR –
    John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

    JESUS is the DOOR and we are wise to seek THE DETAILS ON THE DOOR. We will find VICTORY, PRAISE, POWER, SUPERNATURAL.

    It’s ALL in HIM!

    iWork

  8. The Temple Measurements 41:21

    The Altar of
    V.22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the Lord.

    Rev.8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

  9. iLove the Word

    These scriptures are amazing because THIS TEMPLE THAT EZEKIEL IS SEEING AND THE ANGEL IS MEASURING IS NOT BUILT YET…This a vision of God

    (article from the internet)

    This model of the Millennial Temple is an ongoing study concerning the vision that was shown in tremendous detail to Ezekiel over 2,500 years ago. To date, this temple has not yet been constructed, but Scripture indicates that our generation will see it built in the land of Israel. The most exciting thing about this temple is that the glory of the Lord will be there, which is why the city is called Yahweh Shamah (The Lord is There). The knowledge of His glory in this temple will cover the earth like the waters cover the sea, and He shall reign over all the earth headquartered in this temple!

    Since this is strictly a study of Ezekiel’s vision of the temple (chs. 40-48), I will try to avoid speculation about what this temple may be like and only address the things that were shown specifically to Ezekiel. For example: there may be furniture in this temple similar to what was in the other temples (such as the Menorah, Table of Showbread, Ark of the Covenant, etc.).http://www.sonstoglory.com/ThirdTempleEzekielsMillennialTemple.htm

  10. Detail, detail, detail!

    What great detail! This temple is very detailed and so are we. He created us with such detail as well. every part of our body is important and so is every part of our lives. I’m so thankful that he loves me so much. W

  11. Another chapter showing how much attention God pays to details. Everything detailed in the exact way that he desires and plans. I thank God for the little details in life, even though we sometimes overlook them, we should pay more attention to see the details as God see’s them because nothing and no detail is too small to just ignore.

  12. There are so many dimensions to God’s wonder and glory. He calls out his dimensions for his temple, just as He did for Noah and the Ark. He gives us direction and leadership to build his church. There are specific items required to build our church at POFW. The Pastor has the vision and we will support it. God requires us to build HIS church. The Pastor knows the dimensions he needs to fulfill the vision. God has set the plan in motion. We must plan to build the church to the exact dimensions provided so we can achieve the greatest goal: Reaching, teaching, and preaching. Matt 28: 19-20. (Watch out Fort Worth, TX; we are coming to your rescue!!)

  13. This chapter illustrates detailed. There was great detail and attention given to the temple. There is also great detail and attention given today; “for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  14. 19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

  15. Todays specific details are regarding the temple. It was built a certain way. The walls had specific thickness, it had a specific number of columns, doors, rooms, etc. God doesn’t do anything half heartedly. He plans, prepares and makes a way for anything that He does.

    I personally have been in such a rush to get to our new building, but I believe God is showing me that He is preparing and planning labors to help us, not only with the harvest, but positioning people to help carry the burden financially, and the details for that is so important. I must be patient and wait upon the timing of the Lord. After all it is His church and we are just blessed to be laborers together in His kingdom.

  16. God knows exactly what he wants. While we struggle to make a decision, God has already worked it out. Too many times we try to divert from God’s plan & always and up messing up. If we can stick to the map that God has already drawn out, we can truly get where God wants us to be.

  17. 21-22 The main Sanctuary had a rectangular doorframe. In front of the Holy Place was something that looked like an altar of wood, five and a quarter feet high and three and a half feet square. Its corners, base, and sides were of wood. The man said to me, “This is the table that stands before God.”

    23-26 Both the main Sanctuary and the Holy Place had double doors. Each door had two leaves: two hinged leaves for each door, one set swinging inward and the other set outward. The doors of the main Sanctuary were carved with angel-cherubim and palm trees. There was a canopy of wood in front of the vestibule outside. There were narrow windows alternating with carved palm trees on both sides of the porch. MSG

  18. HALELUJAH!!!
    22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the Lord.
    We might not look at the detail or even take the time to notice the detail, but my GOD SEES EVERY thing!!! Te alabo o mi DIOS!!! HALELUJAH!!! Thank you JESUS for knowing even the most insignificant details in my life!!!
    I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!

  19. Proverbs 10:27

    The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

    Genesis 6:3

    And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

    The wickedness in the land is what caused God to shorten the days of men to 120 years. Now the life expectancy of a man in America is 84 years. This would give science to indicate that our world today is more wicked than the days before the flood.

    Genesis 6:6
    And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

    Genesis 6:6
    And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

    Before these days we notice in verse 3 of Genesis that the spirit of God was striving with man but he repented or turned away from man because of his continual rebellion. Our world is more rebellious than it has ever been. This is why he is telling us in Proverbs 10:27 that turning back to him will prolong our days but our wickedness is what leads us into early graves because he is repented by our rebelliousness.

    Genesis 6:8
    But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

    Gen 6:9
    These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

    The hope is found in the same chapter. God never leaves us without the hope of redemption. Noah walked with God. He knew God and God knew him that is why Noah lived as long as he did 950 years old.

    Genesis 9:29
    And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

    Although these ages seem to be unreachable due to our civilization and current life expectancy charts the original humans were designed to live forever.

    Truly the Wages of Sin is Death

    Roams 6:23
    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    Our ransom is the only way to a life that was promised from the beginning.

    Because he is in us we are the exception in the flesh.

  20. This chapter again as stated by many is very detailed of God’s plan. What are the things in our lives that we have neglected to pay attention to the details?

    Look again at the plan (Bible) and build according to his design. If we build the way he has instructed us to we will do great things in him.

    1 Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.

  21. TEMPLE Measurements every thing has to be in order and the Altar of Wood I wonder when we build our new church if it will be so precise too. everything in GOD”S Plan To GOD be the GLORY, YOU ARE AMAZING !!!!!

  22. Now we know why Jesus was a carpenter, a potter, creator and architect. He does require things to perfection. “Be perfect for your Father in Heaven, is perfect.”

    “Keep your place”…………..

  23. At what are you looking?

    19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

    Under this generic term many species are botanically included; but we have here only to do with the date palm, the Phoenix dactylifera of Linnaeus. While this tree was abundant generally in the Levant, it was regarded by the ancients as peculiarly characteristic of Palestine and the neighboring regions, though now it is rare. (“The palm tree frequently attains a height of eighty feet, but more commonly forty to fifty. It begins to bear fruit after it has been planted six or eight years, and continues to be productive for a century. Its trunk is straight, tall and unbroken, terminating in a crown of emerald-green plumes, like a diadem of gigantic ostrich-feathers; these leaves are frequently twenty feet in length, droop slightly at the ends, and whisper musically in the breeze. The palm is, in truth, a beautiful and most useful tree. Its fruit is the daily food of millions; its sap furnishes an agreeable wine; the fibres of the base of its leaves are woven into ropes and rigging; its tall stem supplies a valuable timber; its leaves are manufactured into brushes, mats, bags, couches and baskets. This one tree supplies almost all the wants of the Arab or Egyptian.” –Bible Plants.)….”The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.” which suggests a world of illustration whether respect be had to the orderly and regular aspect of the tree, its fruitfulness, the perpetual greenness of its foliage, or the height at which the foliage grows, as far as possible from earth and as near as possible to heaven. Psalm 90:2……palm branches were used by the Jews in token of victory and peace. Dr. William Smith

    The face of a man and the face of a lion are looking at this tree. This tree, which was fruitful and known to feed multitudes of people and its branches were used at a sign of victory and peace, illustrates the by product of the what is in the Temple of God. God is looking to see if we produce fruit. (John 15) We should be looking at the same. See the good in each other, see the potential everyone has within them. Take a look and see what God sees. It will help us love one another and bring us together in unity.

  24. The face of God

    19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

    The face of a man and the face of a lion. Wow, what inspiration. It says that the cherubims had the face of a lion (the lion of Judah possibly) and the face of a man (Jesus, God robed in flesh). Can you imagine seeing something like that? Wow what an awesome thing.

  25. A Measured Temple

    1 Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.

    1 Corinthians 6:19
    What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

    Jesus is closely acquainted with the details of our lives. As His temple, He knows our every measure; no detail is too insignificant. He knows even the hairs on our head. In our humanity, we can sometimes forget that such a big God not only can but does notice us and knows us with loving care. We can share all our life with Him, and truly cast every care (big or small) upon Him. We are a measured temple, known personally by the God of all creation. He cares about us, and the more we seek Him, the more we get to see how detailed and deep His individual love for us is.

    Psalms 139:13-18
    13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

  26. 18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;

    19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

    Victory in the house.. As I read this the image of the temple that Solomon built for the Lord came to mind. All throughout that temple as well as this one were carvings of palm trees and cherubims. On a quick research about palm trees I found that it signified on ancient culture, victory, peace and eternal life among others. Not quite sure what the meaning of the face of man on one side and face of a young lion on the other side, but they are both looking at victory, symbolically. Can’t help but think this; victory over the flesh and victory in the spirit. I’m also reminded of the entrance of Jesus as they people recieved Him with palm tree branches giving him praise.

  27. If someone said ‘Make a poster’ and walked off expecting you to make it the way they want chances are it won’t be what they are wanting. However if someone said ‘Make me a poster that looks like….’ You will have a better chance of meeting their wants.
    God pays attention to details and wants us to be the same way. Like the saying goes, ‘every little bit counts.’

  28. Most Holy Place

    Each of the historical temples in Jerusalem (Solomon’s, built in the time of kings; Zerubbabel’s, built when the exiles return return to Jerusalem; and Herod’s, begun shortly before the birth of Jesus) have similar designs and include a Most Holy Place, as does the temple Ezekiel describes here. The tabernacle built by Moses in the desert also had such a room.

    The Most Holy Place is the inner sactuary of the temple, the place where God’s presence dwells with His people. A curtain seperates the Most Holy Place from the other rooms of the temple, dividing God from the sin of the people and shielding the people from God’s holiness. When Jesus dies on the cross, this curtain is violently torn in two from top to bottom (Mt 27:51; Mk 15:38; Lk 23:45), a glorious event, the fullness and finality of Jesus’ death: “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” (Rev 13:8). Direct access to God is now avaliable to every Holy Spirit filled believer (Heb 10:19-22).
