Ezekiel 44

1 Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.

2 Then said the Lord unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the Lord, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.

3 It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.

4 Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord: and I fell upon my face.

5 And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, and all the laws thereof; and mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary.

6 And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,

7 In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.

8 And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves.

9 Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.

10 And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.

11 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.

12 Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord God, and they shall bear their iniquity.

13 And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.

14 But I will make them keepers of the charge of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.

15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God:

16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.

17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.

18 They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.

19 And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

20 Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.

21 Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.

22 Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.

23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

24 And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

25 And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.

26 And after he is cleansed, they shall reckon unto him seven days.

27 And in the day that he goeth into the sanctuary, unto the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith the Lord God.

28 And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.

29 They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering: and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs.

30 And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house.

31 The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.

  1. 3 It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.

    HIS GLORY AGAIN

This chapter brings back into remembrance the greatness of our God. God wants all things did a certain way. He is a very precise God, nothing is perchance all things are exact.
When we do things his way the Glory of the Lord will be there. We have read in all these past books of the prophets all the rebellious acts of the nation of Israeli. They worshiped other gods and brought all manner of idols before the Lord. They polluted the Temple by bringing strangers therein, married the women of that country. I can on for many hours telling of their rebellion, but in all this God shows his love for man kind. If you will repent God will bless you and let you see his Glory.
I am so thankful God is A merciful God will accept my repentance, and let me see his Glory.

  2. A man should not have long hair.

20 Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.

The word poll is the word # H1538 in the Strong’s Concordance גֻּלְגֹּלֶת gulgoleth {gul-go’-leth} meaning 1) head, poll, skull 1a) skull 1b) head, poll…

So it is my understanding that the hair of a man shall just cover their skull and end where the skull ends. I have always learned about why a woman should not cut her hair, why it should be left uncut, and be her covering but this is the first time I read a scripture in reference of a men’s hair. Thank you Jesus for this new teaching!!!! I never cease to learn with you.

  3. iLove to eat the Word

23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

24 And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

we must always live our lives in a way that promotes separation from the world. Thank the Lord our pastor still teaches us what is clean and unclean according to the scripture. Of course, this might bring controversy…but according to this verse, the word always brings some kind of drama.

  4. 23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

It matters to God. Holiness, separation, standards; all of these matter to God.

God cares about the inside, and the outside. He cares about what we do and think. He wants us to be holy for he is holy. He only gave two big commandments.

Love your neighbor, and Love God with EVERYTHING

  5. Pastor asked us during Wednesday’s service who among had ever been fired from their jobs? Some lifted their hands, others did not. I have not been fired from any jobs. I have quit many jobs to keep from getting fired though. I know the feeling of performing poorly and having to pay the consequences. I also know the feeling of doing all that I knew to do only to fall short of expectations. Here God is proclaiming again, how the Levites are released from their duties; they were fired! What a horrible thought that God would not permit me into his presence!

On a lighter note… the Message version: 31 “Priests are not to eat any meat from bird or animal unfit for ordinary human consumption, such as carcasses found dead on the road or in the field.”

Pastor – no more road kill for you and Sis Watts!

  6. Stranger or Friend

9 Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.

The best way to not be strangers with God is to first introduce yourself to him.

    Mat 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

    Mat 7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

    Mat 7:24
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

  7. TEMPLE RULES PRODUCE TEMPLE GLORY

What leaped out to me today is the fact that TEMPLE RULES PRODUCED TEMPLE GLORY. As the LORD led the prophet to witness and experience this wonderful event of the GLORY of GOD in the TEMPLE. It was then revealed to him HOW this happens.

    NLT
5 And the Lord said to me, “Son of man, take careful notice. Use your eyes and ears, and listen to everything I tell you about the regulations concerning the Lord’s Temple. Take careful note of the procedures for using the Temple’s entrances and exits.

My prayer today is that at The POFW we will use our eyes and ears and listen closely that the GLORY of the LORD will FILL the house of the LORD. That we may fall on our face in WORSHIP.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  8. SANTO SANTO SANTO!!!
5 And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, and all the laws thereof; and mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary.
The laws and statutes OF GODS HOUSE!!! Do we keep them?
Can we see the GLORY??? OUR SPIRITUAL EYES ARE THEY OPEN??? OUR EARS ARE THEY INTUNE WITH THE VOICE OF GOD???
SANTO SANTO SANTO!!! LORD THAT MY Spiritual eyes would be open to see YOUR GLORY, my spiritual Ears be intune to hear your voice and my heart be humble, contrite before YOUR presence and my life be pleasing unto Thee!!! I want to see YOUR GLORY OOOO LORD! !! HALELUJAH!!! I love you DADDY!!!

  9. 28 And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.

    I AM

What more could we ask for, but to have the King of Kings as our portion, as our inhertiance.

All around the world today people are trying to kill themselves just so that they can have the latest and greatest toys, for themselves and for their children for Christmas, but they miss the whole meaning of this time of the year, JESUS.

If we truly teach our children as we should then they too see as we should, and see Christ as our all. Do we want more… Yes, sure. Do we need, No. He is our provision. He is our all.

As we approach the end, we will need to lean more and more on Him, and not to our own understanding…..

  10. 9 Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. (KJV)

The Contemporary English Version says no foreigners that disobey Him shall enter – we must obey the Lord and keep ourselves separated from this world. Know me God, I do not want to be a stranger to you!

  11. This chapter illustrates comprehension. A thorough understanding was required; “And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord”. One can gain understanding from the Word of God (Jesus), and teachings of the man of God, if one desires it; “a good understanding have all they that do his commandments”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  12. 28 And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.

He is all that I need or want.

  13. 28 And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.

In a materialistic world it’s easy to get caught up in wanting more things. Advertisements are everywhere bombarding our minds with “needs”. As Christians and ministers to a hurting world we need to be careful not to replace our eternal possession (God, heavenly things) with a desire and insatiable hunger for temporary possessions.

  14. 2 Then said the Lord unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the Lord, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.

The are places in our lives that The Lord has entered into. It is a place of relationship. No others can enter in thereby. We should protect that place at all times.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. -Revelation 3:20

  15. 9 Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.
God cared about the status of the heart and of the spirit when it came to his people. God told them how to walk, talk and live daily. Just as God was concerned and interested then he is interested now. We must live holy in “All manner of conversation”

  16. We need to learn to be separated from the world but still be able reach to reach the lost without falling. God is looking for someone to serve Him whole heartily and I’m ready!!

  17. A Holy Nation

23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

    Matthew 11:2-5
2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, 3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? 4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: 5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

    1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

We were once outcasts, strangers afar off, but Jesus made the way for us to draw near as His people. Once a dog, now a child of the King. We can show forth holiness, not that we never sinned but that our Redeemer is greater and overcame the grave. Our lives are to be a testimony of grace and show the transforming power of the cross and the working of God’s Spirit in our lives. We are to be a holy nation, not just a people that is holy but God’s people; it goes beyond what we are to being about *whose* we are. When we live according to our identity in Christ, we can show the world what it truly means to be holy.

  18. Linen Garments

Just as the Levitical priests earlier in Israel’s history (Ex 28), the priests in Ezekiel’s prophecy are commanded to wear special linen garments when ministering in the temple. Linen is a finer cloth than what is usually worn by most people of that day during their everyday duties. Its fineness as well as its whiteness is a sign of the purity required of the priests. The lighter weight of th fabric also keeps the priests from perspiring as they go about their duties. Jesus says in Mat 11:30 “For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” all He requires is that we repent of any distractions we my have linking us to this world and rely souly on Him. The whte garments could be a visual illistration and reminder to the priest of how God expects their lives to remain ‘pure’. We can only be pure or ‘holy’ when we walk and live or Him, and His Holy Spirit residing in us.

  19. Only For God

19 And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

There are things that we are to only show God. We must go into the secret place where we have a relationship with only Him. That is a sacred place that only the two of you go. It is not to be shared with others. We are to minister to God at this time. In this case we do not have others in our holy place. We do not share our intimacies with others either. We are to keep it holy and set apart. We are to minister to others because of the ministering we do to God. We must keep the things of God separate and holy.

  20. 30 And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house.

  21. Holy Holy Holy… Is the best I can put to this chapter. It is amazing the expectation for His people and His ministers and priests. Everything about the Lord is clean and pure and perfect. Makes me think how do we approach a most Holy God? There is a verse here:

Makes me question myself. How am I coming into the presence of God? What am I bringing before Him? I am reminded of how Pastor advices that we should take care of things and repent and have a clean heart even before we come near the property. Yes God takes it that seriously! Holiness is is goal. He is Royalty! What am I bringing before the KING JESUS

  22. You have brought uncircumcised foreigners into my sanctuary—people who have no heart for God. In this way, you defiled my Temple even as you offered me my food, the fat and blood of sacrifices. In addition to all your other detestable sins, you have broken my covenant. (Ezekiel 44:7 NLT)

Our body is the temple of God. Do not give your self to an unbeliever.

  23. God cares how we approach His holy presence. We cannot come in weighted down with the pollutions of this world and this life. We must take care to cleanse ourselves from all unrighteousness so that we can not only minister unto Him through our praise, but also minister to those that come into His presence with a need.

When something or someone is impacted by His presence, everything around them will feel or see that impact as well.
