Ezekiel 45

1 Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an oblation unto the Lord, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.

2 Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length, with five hundred in breadth, square round about; and fifty cubits round about for the suburbs thereof.

3 And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place.

4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the Lord: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

5 And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.

6 And ye shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand long, over against the oblation of the holy portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.

7 And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other side of the oblation of the holy portion, and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy portion, and before the possession of the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the length shall be over against one of the portions, from the west border unto the east border.

8 In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and my princes shall no more oppress my people; and the rest of the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.

9 Thus saith the Lord God; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord God.

10 Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.

11 The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the tenth part of an homer, and the ephah the tenth part of an homer: the measure thereof shall be after the homer.

12 And the shekel shall be twenty gerahs: twenty shekels, five and twenty shekels, fifteen shekels, shall be your maneh.

13 This is the oblation that ye shall offer; the sixth part of an ephah of an homer of wheat, and ye shall give the sixth part of an ephah of an homer of barley:

14 Concerning the ordinance of oil, the bath of oil, ye shall offer the tenth part of a bath out of the cor, which is an homer of ten baths; for ten baths are an homer:

15 And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them, saith the Lord God.

16 All the people of the land shall give this oblation for the prince in Israel.

17 And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

18 Thus saith the Lord God; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary:

19 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.

20 And so thou shalt do the seventh day of the month for every one that erreth, and for him that is simple: so shall ye reconcile the house.

21 In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.

22 And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering.

23 And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the Lord, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering.

24 And he shall prepare a meat offering of an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and an hin of oil for an ephah.

25 In the seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.

  1. 18 Thus saith the Lord God; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary:

19 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.

    CLEANSE THE SANCTUARY

God wants all things clean, he said the first day of the month . We must start being clean. Then the process is to stay clean. Under the law the blood of lambs and bullocks was used to cleanse the house.
Today we have the blood of Jesus! When we repent, even though we have sinned and transgressed the law of God for years, (when we
repent ) this will then become the first day of the month for us.
A new beginning, it is important that we start over, this is why we must be born again.

    THANK GOD FOR THE BLOOD!!!!

When God applies the blood we become new creatures in Christ.
We are clean! Now we must keep ourselves clean.

  2. Ezekiel 45:14
Concerning the ordinance of oil, the bath of oil, ye shall offer the tenth part of a bath out of the cor, which is an homer of ten baths; for ten baths are an homer:

In the New Testament the oil is a type of the anointing. Oil comes from the crushings of tender olives. Pressure is placed on the seeds until they too become slick and liquid.

The oil is used for many purposes. It can burn as fuel. It can be added to help cook food. Oil can moisturize the skin, and it can toughen clothing. Oil can untangle hair. It can ease snoring, polish furniture, free stuck zippers, fix squeaky doors, and cure an earache.

It can also be mixed with spices as a delicious dipping sauce for bread.

A sacrifice is something of value purposefully lost for something of greater value. Many times a sacrifice is made in faith. Many times we don’t see the results of our sacrifice for awhile.

Here the oil is given as, and with the sacrifice.

The crushing produces anointing. This comes from outside forces. The olive cannot crush itself, but only accept the crushing. A sacrifice is a choice. This is how we self inflict. This is where we die daily, and give ourselves to him. A sacrifice means we decrease, and he increases. No one can sacrifice for us.

When we are born again we do our part by repenting, and submitting to waters of baptism. Then God does his part by filling us with his spirit.

    Anointing and sacrifice work together.

In Matthew 26 the woman broke the alabaster box. This was a sacrifice. Within the box was the oil she anointed Jesus feet with.

Sacrifice is done through self discipline.
oil comes from submission to crushings.

    Sacrifice brings fire.
    Crushing brings anointing.

    Oil, and fire BURN

  3. 4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the Lord: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

Set apart. We can’t go and minister unto the Lord with junk in our lives, hallelujah for repentance because it sets us apart from the world and prepares us to enter into the presence of God which should not be taken lightly.. We must be set apart in our lives, body, mind, heart

  4. And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. -Ezekiel 45:17

Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary: -Ezekiel 45:18

And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. Ezekiel 45:19

And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering. -Ezekiel 45:22

And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering. -Ezekiel 45:23

There are several layers to these verses that were fulfilled in Christ and his ultimate sacrifice

    Verse 17
It was the people’s responsibility to give their oblation to the prince.

    Verse 19
The prince’s part was to give blood for a sin offering. .

Through repentance we die out to ourselves so that we may live. The writer of Romans says that you should present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God

    Verse 18
Through repentance and baptism in Jesus name we put on Christ. Christ being both the sacrifice for sin and the “Prince” of Peace has provided through his blood being applied to our lives a cleansing for the sanctuary.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. -Galatians 3:27

Verse 22 of Ezekiel says that the prince shall prepare for himself and for all the people.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. -2 Corinthians 5:21

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. -Genesis 22:8

  5. A JUST BALANCE

9 Thus saith the Lord God; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord God.
10 Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.

The message to the man of GOD is: we will all be measured by the same balance or scales. Rich people do not get special privileges and poor people do not get special privileges. The scale is equal for everyone.

Our possessions are not what GOD will weigh. It is our FAITH, the measure that HE gave to each of us. HE KNOWS what he gave each of us and this is measure in what is on HIS side of the scale.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

This is where the parable of the steward becomes effective in our lives. What have we done with the FAITH that has been measured to us? We WILL ALL be weighed by the GOD given FAITH and our OBEDIENCE to HIS WORD.

    Daniel 5:22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

    NLT
Daniel 5:27 Tekel means ‘weighed’ —you have been weighed on the balances and have not measured up.

LORD help ME to measure up to the FAITH you gave me is my PRAYER in JESUS name.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  6. ilove to eat the Word

Back in the days and even today, the Leadership was corrupt and unjust with the Children of God. I’m sure that this really upsets God because it casts an unfavorable view upon the things and people of God. There is coming a time, when the third temple will be rebuilt. The antichrist will stand in this temple and claim he is God. This will be the ultimate corruption of the temple. After a short period, the King of Glory will come and defeat the antichrist and take the temple back by force. Not only will he repair the temple but he will extend the temple and make it larger to where it covers the Mount of Olives. This will be possible because in scripture it proclaims that at the return of Jesus his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives and it will become flat. This will allow the space for the 1,000 year millennium kingdom of Ezekiel to be fulfilled. At this time, corrupt will cease to exist.

    Zechariah 14:4
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.

  7. PUT IT SEPARATE!!!!!!!!!

We should always begin by putting it separate! Put what separate? I thought my daughter than as soon as she gets paid, she puts her tithe separate, her offering (usually 1/2 of the tithe), and her commitment to IFT. IFT is our commitment to God’s Temple, it should be separate from everything before you even look at bills or other responsibilities for IFT is our responsibility to the Land set apart for God’s Temple. Nothing has changed from then to now. People change but God never changes. I thank God for a Pastor that knows and show us, guides us, in the knowledge of being a SEPARATE PEOPLE.

  8. 4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the Lord: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

The priests lived in holiness. They couldn’t be holy just at the sanctuary then go home and be any way. So many Christians today think that it’s ok to be one way at church then another at home then wonder why they can’t seem to reach God. Those that drew near and ministered to God were required to live in holiness, separated from unholiness. The boundaries may not be as physical today but Gods principle stands true.

  9. 10 Ye shall have just balances,….

When we judge, we will be judged the same way. THis is why we must not judge one another, for we are corrupt. But thanks be to God that he is the Just Judge.

  10. The blood of the lamb is our reconciliation for our sins, and he has paid the full price. I plead, the blood of Jesus Christ over my sins, and have daily pled his blood over my family, my home, and myself. He is our reconcilier to the Father. “Yes”, I know in these three are ONE……..

19 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.

    ***Merry Christmas***…………………………………………………

  11. God didn’t intend for us to only worship on Sunday and then turn away from Him during the week. He expects us to give Him our all and live pure in His eyes everyday all day.

  12. The living room of God

18 Thus saith the Lord God; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary:

Gods living room or his sanctuary has to be clean for God to come and enjoy our company. He is seeking a repented heart to fill with his spirit. This is why we must keep a repented heart to always have an invitation for him.

  13. This chapter illustrates portion. There was a specified portion for all. The Lord has a portion for those that want it; “The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  14. Our Portion

4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the Lord: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

    Psalms 16:5-6
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

    Matthew 19:29
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

As we draw near to God and leave behind things of this life, we can find ourselves in dry seasons when the “losses” around us make us feel empty-handed. But the Lord reminds us He is our portion; our portion not just in what is to come but in life now as well. He has a place for us in Him that He desires for us to abide. It is a place of covering, provision, blessing, etc. Leaving things of the world behind isn’t about simply emptying ourselves of the world but is a call to be filled with Him. In that place He has, that is where our cup can overflow with Him.

    Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

  15. 1 Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an oblation unto the Lord, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.

  16. Oh the Blood

19 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.

They are taking the blood and smearing it around for forgiveness. They are putting the blood where everyone can see it on the posts. These peoe we’re not ashamed. They showed their precious blood.

  17. 23 And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the Lord, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering.

Such order an structure with all these instructions, an who was it said that God isn’t into splitting hairs???

  18. Remember from where you came
“On the fourteenth day of the first month, you must celebrate the Passover. This festival will last for seven days. The bread you eat during that time must be made without yeast. (Ezekiel 45:21 NLT)

The exodus was the most significant event of deliverance in the OT. It is a frequent them to give honor to God for this event. Likewise, today we need to give honor to Christ for the deliverance of our souls from this world. We must thank Him for the Holy Ghost. We need the restoration of the joy of our salvation.

  19. 23 And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the Lord, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering.
    A Pure Offering
We have heard the scripture reference that we will not offer to to the Lord what cost us nothing… This verse is a perfect example of that. The people of God were required to offer seven bullocks and rams WITHOUT BLEMISH! God wanted their sacrifices to be as pure as possible. Even so today we must offer to God that which is pure and holy in our sacrifices.

  20. 16 All the people of the land shall give this oblation for the prince in Israel.

It was the responsibility of everyone to contribute to the oblation in that day and time and the priest administered that. Likewise it is our responsibility of everyone to share in the responsibility of the temple. Not only in providing the funds necessary for the operation of the church, but also to administer the functions of the church i.e.: janitorial, hospitality, children’s ministry, van/bus ministry …. it is our responsibility to participate so that everything runs smoothly and God receives the glory in all ways.

  21. 4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the Lord: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

My portion. We should know that the Lord is our greatest reward. Everything we do here will pass. Whatever work we do, should be with the expectancy that our greatest reward is to spend eternity in His presence, in heaven the place that He went to prepare, the real holy portion of the land.

  22. 17. And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Is’-ra-el: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Is’-ra-el. 18. Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary: 19. And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. 20. And so thou shalt do the seventh day of the month for every one that erreth, and for him that is simple: so shall ye reconcile the house. 21. In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten. 22. And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering. 23. and seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering. 24. And he shall prepare a meat offering of an e’-phah for a bullock, and an hin of oil for an e’-phah.

  23. Honest Weights

10 Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.

“Honesty is the best policy” the old saying goes. God not only agrees, but also the author of honesty, the Creator of integrity. He is concerned throughout the Old Testament with honesty, and he commands his people to use accurate scales and measures when dealing with each other (Dt 25:15; Pr 11:1). The prophets rebuke the people again and again for their inaccurate weights and scales (Mic 6:10-11) and for their injustice when dealing with each other, especially with those who are most helpless (Isa 1:17). Their dishonesty is one of the reasons they are now in exile, and Ezekiel wants to be sure they don’t return to their former ways of injustice.
