Ezekiel 48

1 Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the coast of the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazarenan, the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan.

2 And by the border of Dan, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Asher.

3 And by the border of Asher, from the east side even unto the west side, a portion for Naphtali.

4 And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Manasseh.

5 And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Ephraim.

6 And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side even unto the west side, a portion for Reuben.

7 And by the border of Reuben, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Judah.

8 And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.

9 The oblation that ye shall offer unto the Lord shall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth.

10 And for them, even for the priests, shall be this holy oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the Lord shall be in the midst thereof.

11 It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.

12 And this oblation of the land that is offered shall be unto them a thing most holy by the border of the Levites.

13 And over against the border of the priests the Levites shall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.

14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord.

15 And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.

16 And these shall be the measures thereof; the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred.

17 And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty.

18 And the residue in length over against the oblation of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against the oblation of the holy portion; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that serve the city.

19 And they that serve the city shall serve it out of all the tribes of Israel.

20 All the oblation shall be five and twenty thousand by five and twenty thousand: ye shall offer the holy oblation foursquare, with the possession of the city.

21 And the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, over against the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and westward over against the five and twenty thousand toward the west border, over against the portions for the prince: and it shall be the holy oblation; and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the midst thereof.

22 Moreover from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, being in the midst of that which is the prince’s, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince.

23 As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the west side, Benjamin shall have a portion.

24 And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side unto the west side, Simeon shall have a portion.

25 And by the border of Simeon, from the east side unto the west side, Issachar a portion.

26 And by the border of Issachar, from the east side unto the west side, Zebulun a portion.

27 And by the border of Zebulun, from the east side unto the west side, Gad a portion.

28 And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea.

29 This is the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these are their portions, saith the Lord God.

30 And these are the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred measures.

31 And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel: three gates northward; one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi.

32 And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: and three gates; and one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan.

33 And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: and three gates; one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun.

34 At the west side four thousand and five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali.

35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

  1. 14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the first fruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord.

    THE FIRST FRUITS

God believes in the first fruits, so strong, that he called it holy unto the LORD. I believe if we give God his ten percent he will bless us with the next ninety percent. These priest were told not to sell , barter, exchange in any way the first fruit. We should always bless the Lord with what is his to start with, if we pay God his ten percent, he will always bless us. In my years of living for God I have saw many people get a big blessing and just couldn’t pay their tithes because it was so much money and God could not bless them because they misused his first fruit.
We should always honor God with our first fruits and watch God bless us.

  2. 35….: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

There is power in a name. It defines how people perceive you. Now what is said about the city that you live in? To be able to say that ,”The Lord is there,” is a big deal. It takes a man of God ,going after God’s heart, to be able to call the city ,that he lives in. To call that city ,”The Lord is there. ”
Thank God for a passionate Pastor going after Gods heart.

  3. First Fruits = Tithe IS HOLY

14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord.

I was always taught to fear that which was Holy. You just don’t mess with it… As a child my parents always taught me to respect everything that was holy. The First Fruits is one of them. You don’t mess with God’s money. It is to be set apart (hint the Holy part), from the beginning. I am thankful for that lesson for God has blessed us greatly because of it. My family has never lacked and in the hardest time He has always opened the windows of Heaven and blessed us just in time. Don’t be ignorant & give to God what it is already His.

  4. THE LORD IS THERE

35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

There is no greater testimony or acknowledgement than that THE LORD IS THERE. We must be prayerful to not frequent places that it CANNOT be said THE LORD IS THERE. The land was HOLY.

Ezekiel 48:14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the LORD.

For the LORD to there it must be:
    1. HOLY – set apart for GOD’s use
    2. Faithful – rendering to GOD what belongs to HIM – First-fruits.

iPray today that we examine our lives to ensure and confirm that the LORD is THERE. Wherever we GO. If GOD is not there, then we MUST get out of that place, situation and circumstance.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  5. 47:1 —48:35 The final two chapters of the book describe the new land. Since God now has a redeemed people and a divine constitution or covenant , the land remained as the only necessity in order to have a holy nation.

His listeners were then no doubt encouraged to realize that the nation’s fortunes would ultimately be reversed, and God would again dwell in their midst in an even greater and more glorius sense.

  6. iLove to eat the Word

35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

What an amazing scripture. This is of course speaking of the thousand year reign when Jesus sets up his kingdom on earth. Zechariah has the rest of the story.

Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south. Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with You.

    a. Then the LORD will go forth and fight: Just when it seems that all hope is gone for Jerusalem and the people of Israel, then the Lord will fight for His people.

    i. “God is said to go forth when he manifests his power by delivering his people and punishing their enemies.” (Pulpit)

    b. His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives . . . And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west: This speaks of the LORD – Jesus, as God the Son – materially returning to a material earth and setting His feet on the Mount of Olives. At that time a great split will cut the Mount of Olives in two, and the persecuted people of Jerusalem will flee through the valley made by the split.

    c. Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with You: Jesus will touch His feet to the Mount of Olives when He returns in glory with all the saints, the armies of heaven described in Revelation 19:14.

    i. This was the type of arrival the Jews in Jesus’ day hoped for. Indeed, when the Roman armies surrounded Jerusalem in 70 A.D. a mistaken assurance from prophecies like this made the Jews utterly confident that the Messiah would return from heaven and wipe out the Roman armies surrounding Jerusalem. They could not see that the Messiah must first be rejected and the nation brought to repentance as Zechariah mentioned in 11:12-13 and 12:10.

    B. The Kingdom of the Messiah.

    1. (6-11) The Messiah’s rule changes the earth.

It shall come to pass in that day that there will be no light; the lights will diminish. It shall be one day which is known to the LORD; neither day nor night. But at evening time it shall happen that it will be light. And in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in both summer and winter it shall occur. And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be; “The LORD is one,” and His name one. All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be raised up and inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananeel to the king’s winepresses. The people shall dwell in it; and no longer shall there be utter destruction, but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

  7. 35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

Thankful that I know where The Lord is.
I carry Him in my heart, so if I walk in a place that makes me fill uncomfortable , I know that is a place God is not pleased with and I need to leave. Thank God that He convicts our heart when we start to do something that is not right!!

  8. 35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there. (KJV)

This verse made me think, are we where the Lord is? Or do we think that “oh well God is with me always, no matter where I am?” I pray that God would guide my footsteps to always follow where He would have me to go, to a place that He is always there.

  9. Talking about being precise, and keeping things in an orderly fashion. Even deviding portions, and keeping an accurate account much more than we can even imagine too. So, don’t think the things you do or sacrifice for Jesus is unnoticed. He keeps an account of your good doings. But, remember LOVE keeps no records of wrong! So, always repent immediately once you recognise any wrong. Something said, something thought, or anything. He is faithful to forgive, but be sure you forgive others too. So, Dad can forgive you!

“Merry Christmas”…..please Church don’t fall for Happy Holidays!…..Tell Merry Christmas……………

  10. This chapter illustrates plan. There was a specific layout given that was too be followed. The word of God provides a plan, which if followed one will be victorious. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  11. 35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

h3074. יהוה שׁמה yhwh sama; from 3068 and 8033 with directive enclitic; Yhwh ( is) thither; Yhwh- Shammah, a symbolic title of Jerusalem: — Yhwh- shammah.
AV ( 1)- The Lord is there 1; Jehovah- shammah =” Jehovah is there”
    a symbolic name for Jerusalem

Very thankful for a God who is there! What good is there serving a god who isn’t even present? Thank you Jesus for being the friend that sticks closer than a brother, and being our ever present help.

  12. 35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

    Hebrews 8:10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts:and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Although it will be a great day to see The Lord face to face we have an amazing opportunity that the angels wish they had. We literally have the spirit of almighty God dwelling within us. We are his temple!

  13. 14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord.

Its an honor as well as a command to give the firstfruits. But then we are blessed and will find that we have provision for our needs.

  14. I’ve heard it said 100 times that ‘God is always with me’. If however you make the conscience decision to go where God would not step in at, He will not go there. Where God abides is a Holy place and if the places you’re going or the thoughts you’re having or the things you’re saying, are not pleasing in His eyes, He won’t be there.
God I pray you lead my feet and allow me to hear your voice when I am somewhere displeasing to you.

  15. And the name of the city shall be
It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there. (Ezekiel 48:35 KJV)

  16. Emmanuel

35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

    Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

We see again the meticulous measuring and placement that God’s lays out and the great detail He gives. He finishes by declaring the identity of the city as “The Lord is there.” In our lives, Jesus shows Himself to be our Emmanuel, “God with us,” with deep care and concern for the details of our lives. If God gave such care for a city, how must He feel about His blood-bought children? We don’t have to religate our lives to being a confused, random jumble when the God of creation personally has care and purpose for each detail. We must walk by faith and let Him be our Emmanuel through all circumstances and seasons and watch as He shines through our identity in Him as our lives testify that “The Lord is there.” Is anything too hard for God?

    Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

  17. 23 As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the west side, Benjamin shall have a portion.

Stand by, The Lord has a portion for us in this city.

Moreover I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow. -Genesis 48:22

We are excited to see the great things God is doing in our midst. He has done his part but what am I going to do.

And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto? -Joshua 17:14

And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee. -Joshua 17:15

  18. 14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord.
    Dont mess with Gods money…
To me this is a direct warning his people in that day not to mess with Gods money because it is holy unto the Lord. His money is sacred and should be reserved for his kingdom.. I like what my Pastor says ” would you rather keep the ten percent and the 90 percent be cursed or give the 10 percent and the other 90 percent be blessed?” I choose the latter.

  19. God is There! Thank you Lord for placing me where you want me to be. Lead me to the Holy place where I can be with you. Deliver me from all that stands in the way of doing your will. Lord all I have belongs to you, thank you for allowing me to bring the first fruits to your holy temple.

  20. 35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

After quite a long time and many chapters explaining what God will do to the rebellious, idolatrous people, and all the chastisement done towards His people, finally after all this purification, the Lord has blessed, given a portion to everyone, however in the midst of all this I see here the greatest blessing-The Lord is there. How many places, situations, including even churches have you just known that the Lord is not there? I pray the we continue to do God’s will, having a humble teachable spirit that God can mold and work with that we may always be blessed with His presence. With God being there, He is for us, and if God is for us who then can be against us…?

  21. After the seven miles of “sacred land” was marked off for the Holy Place, the Sanctuary, each tribe was divided a “portion” of land that they were responsible for to maintain, grow their crops, and provide an offering to offer to the Lord, as well as meet the needs of their own families.

What would happen if within a seven square radius of POFW every family would take a portion of neighborhood and be responsible to pray and fast for families in that area???

My what a mighty revival we would see!!!

  22. 8 And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.
Out of Judah will there be an offering. Out of our praise should come an offering

  23. 11 It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.

It is easy to get off track when you are not focused. Going astray is what the enemy desires for all of God’s children to do. We have the power to overcome, but it does us no good if we do not know how to use that power. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. We have the strength to stay on course, so don’t let the enemy tell you otherwise.

  24. 35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

Thanks be to God that when we received the Holy Ghost he established His Throne in us and we became the dwelling place of the King of Kings. Yet, we are daily challenged to put our will to the side; that He many be Lord over our lives and people will see that He is with us.

  25. First Fruit

14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord.

The first fruit is holy in the Lord’s eyes. How much fruit do you produce with your time? If we produce fruit of the Spirit with our lives, then how we spend our time is, in a sense, a seed. What do I do with the first fruit of my time? Am I getting up early enough to dedicate my first waking hours to Christ? What would happen if I did?

    Proverbs 3:9-10 ESV

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

    Nehemiah 10:35 ESV

    We obligate ourselves to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord;

    Proverbs 3:9 ESV

    Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;

    Ezekiel 44:30 ESV

And the first of all the firstfruits of all kinds, and every offering of all kinds from all your offerings, shall belong to the priests. You shall also give to the priests the first of your dough, that a blessing may rest on your house.

    Romans 11:16 ESV

If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

    Leviticus 23:10-14 ESV

“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land that I give you and reap its harvest, you shall bring the sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest, and he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, so that you may be accepted. On the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. And on the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord. And the grain offering with it shall be two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, a food offering to the Lord with a pleasing aroma, and the drink offering with it shall be of wine, a fourth of a hin. And you shall eat neither bread nor grain parched or fresh until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your God: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

    1 Corinthians 15:20 ESV

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

    2 Chronicles 31:5 ESV

As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the firstfruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field. And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

    Exodus 22:29 ESV

“You shall not delay to offer from the fullness of your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to me.

    James 1:18 ESV

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

    Numbers 18:12 ESV

All the best of the oil and all the best of the wine and of the grain, the firstfruits of what they give to the Lord, I give to you.

    Malachi 3:10 ESV

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

  26. The Lord is There

What more needs to be said? “The Lord is There.” The city has a new name, one that brings up images of peace, fulfillment, contentment and excitement. What a wonderful place God will eventually call his people to share with him. No more seperation. No more striving. No more wondering if we measure up. Everything is finalized and beautifully fulfilled, just as he hs promised. The Lord is there. We’ll be there too. Praise Him! What a wonderful way to end such an astounding book, but with such an encouraging word.
