Daniel 2

1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

15 He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:

18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

  1. Verses 17-23 NLT ” Then Daniel went home and told his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what had happened. He urged them to ask the God of heaven to show them his mercy by telling them the secret, so they would not be executed along with the other wise men of Babylon. That night the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven. He said, “Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded.” Taking it to the Lord. This reminded me of what Pastor asked of us last night, “Pray for the Vision” and “Project Prayer Card”. Pastor has urged us (as Daniel urged his friends) and now we have to take it to the Lord in prayer….get ready for the revelation.

  2. Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
    wisdom and power are his.
    21 He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to the discerning.
    22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
    and light dwells with him.
23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.” MSG

Let praises continue to be in my mouth. We are all going to go thru seasons in our lives and depending on how we handle ourselves is the bottom line if we have to go back thru that season. The song comes to mind this morning reading the chapter, “When praises go up blessings are gonna rain down……Keep praising and watch God bless

  3. 27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

    28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

    ONLY GOD CAN

Daniel wanted to be sure the king knew there was no way he could tell him his dream on his on, but God showed him the dream. Daniel showed a spirit of meekness and humility on his part, and God blessed him with great knowledge. The thing I like to remember here is Daniel always prayed, everyday.
Prayer will make us humble, because we will keep our spirit under control and always give God the glory he deserves. Daniel even told the king why his wise men could not tell him the dream, but God could.
I believe our God can do anything, but only God can.
There is no limit to what our God can do let us believe him for miracles.
    YES ONLY GOD CAN!!!!!

  4. 24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

God let Daniel in on the secret so that the king would find favor with him. God had a calling on Daniels life and it required him to be elevated so that authority would be in place for what was to come.

Any time we get a word from God we have to understand that it comes with a purpose.

    1Samuel 3:19
And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

Everytime we get a word we have to stand on it and then do something with it. You never know who’s life it will save.

    Speak Faith

  5. VS 15-18 Daniel had the faith to not only believe that god would speak to him, but he had faith enough to declare it and then act toward it.

  6. ilove to eat the Word

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

Sometimes we can get this mentality that the things we are facing are impossible. But Daniel knew what to do. He knew he could go to God in prayer and that God would answer him. The prayer of Daniel not only saved himself, but all around him were saved.

  7. Wow. What an inspiration to read about. It just goes to show ,that as long as we are obedient to God. We are blessed. Even in a land that was not their own, God still uses those who are subject to Him. In all things, God can use us. If we would be sensitive to His Spirit.

  8. What a predicament! Not only were the magicians, etc… supposed to interpret the dream they had to tell the dream itself. This will separate the chaff from the wheat!

Now Daniel did an amazing thing, he prayed before responding to the King. I wish I could take back so many things that I have said or offered advice on without praying first. What a mess most of those situations turned into. Daniel provides us with an example of how to offer advice to people; “Let me pray about it and I will get back to you.” Then call for your brethren to pray with you to reach the Throne and petition the Lord for the message the He wants delivered.

Now comes the hard part; to deliver the message from the Lord without adding to it.

  9. Vs.17, “Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions.”
Vs.18, “That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.”
Vs.19, “Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”

This passage of scripture made me think of the scriptures found in Matt.18:19-20.
Vs.19, “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
Vs.20, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

It only takes 2 or 3 people believing together in Jesus Name to make things happen.

  10. UNITY = STRENGTH

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

In all the kingdoms described in the dream there is one common denominator they weren’t in unity, so they were easily destroyed. This verse caught my attention because it said the shall not cleave one to another… unequally joked for iron is not mixed with clay. So, I began thinking what does God wants out of a church, what kind of unity will He like and I started reading (Living Bible Translation) Romans 12:9-21 It gives a perfect example of how we should act… 9 Don’t just pretend that you love others: really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. 10 Love each other with brotherly affection and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically.

12 Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and prayerful always. 13 When God’s children are in need, you be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or, if they need lodging, for the night.

14 If someone mistreats you because you are a Christian, don’t curse him; pray that God will bless him. 15 When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow. 16 Work happily together. Don’t try to act big. Don’t try to get into the good graces of important people, but enjoy the company of ordinary folks. And don’t think you know it all!

17 Never pay back evil for evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through. 18 Don’t quarrel with anyone. Be at peace with everyone, just as much as possible.

19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God, for he has said that he will repay those who deserve it. Don’t take the law into your own hands.[a] 20 Instead, feed your enemy if he is hungry. If he is thirsty give him something to drink and you will be “heaping coals of fire on his head.” In other words, he will feel ashamed of himself for what he has done to you. 21 Don’t let evil get the upper hand, but conquer evil by doing good.

May God help us become the church He wants us to be so He can reign for ever more in His Love. In Jesus Name AMEN.

  11. 2:16 Daniel was obviously held in high esteem, as his ready access to the king demonstrates.

2:17,18 Even though Daniel had special, God -given abilities, he and his friends still had to pray.

    It’s ALL about PRAYER !

Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

  12. GOD IS = FAVOR

The result of Daniels FAITH, OBEDIENCE and COMMITMENT, GOD IS able to speak through HIM. The carnal, ungodly, sinful king was moved by the words of the LORD through Daniel that even with his own wicked heart he could confess that there is ONE TRUE GOD. We know we are walking with the LORD when sinners and those that are not of the FAITH begin to confess and worship the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD.

It should be our goal to be used of GOD so clearly that others would confess “YOUR GOD IS”

**** ANOTHER BONUS SCRIPTURE FROM WEDNEDAY NIGHT

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    GOD IS

    GOD IS a REWARDER

    iPraise
    iPray
    iSeek

  13. 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

God can do all things and He knows all things!!
You may think that the things you are doing are covered up and no one knows about it,but nothing is a secret from The Lord . You may do things in darkness but He will bring it to the light and reveal it to others.
Oh be careful little eyes, hands, mouth, feet what you do, someone is watching you!!

  14. 47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

Even though we think no one knows and no one saw good always sees. He’s in heaven an nothing will be hidden from him, he is omnipotent, omnipresent and he sees everything. What’s done in the dark will always come to the light

  15. Daniel 2:21
And he changeth the times and the seasons:
he removeth kings, and setteth up kings:
he giveth wisdom unto the wise,
and knowledge to them that know understanding:

This verse tells me that if we are living wise, and looking for wisdom God will give it to us. If we are living in the knowledge he has given us, and we make understanding part of our lives then he gives knowledge to us.

If we are faithful over the small things he will make us ruler over the big things.

Two boys were walking down a long dirt road. Chuck turns to Tommy and says “if you had two million dollars would you give me a million?” Tommy said yeah Chuck Id give you a million. Chuck thought a bit more as they walked further “Tommy if you had two mansions would you give me one of em?” Tommy blurted out “absolutely Chuck! I’d give you a house like that in a heart beat!” Finally the real question rose to the surface in Chuck’s mind. “Tommy, if you had two hogs would you give one to me?” Tommy shouted “Now wait a minute Chuck! You know I got two hogs!”

What we do with little is what we would do with alot.

  16. V 47

    The revealer of secrets

Jer 33:3 God will show us the unknown things. In our dreams he will show us what we are dealing with. His still small voice tries to guide us in direction. The events that happened prior to the interpretation give understanding about Danials character. He separated himself and fasted in chapter 1. In this chapter he has his friends do a prayer meeting with him. None of this was done on his own but he had the support of his fellow believers. Together we are strong.

God wants to bring us to a place where we can speak of the secrets in sinners lives. This way they know it was God and that he is The Lord. This is the anointing that we can walk into we. We must separate ourselves and cleave to Jesus.

  17. 20 Daniel answered, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever! For wisdom and might are His!
21 He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding!
22 He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him!
23 I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers, Who has given me wisdom and might and has made known to me now what we desired of You, for You have made known to us the solution to the king’s problem. (AMP)

    How Great Is Our God!!

  18. We all have our seasons, and God does have the power to place Kings and to remove some as well. I know, we all are waiting for him to move some again. “Be Patient”…………..

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
    _______________________________________________________
    “Let there be Light”……..

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
    ______________________________________________________
“Thy KINGDOM COME, Thy Will be done”…………………

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
    _______________________________________________________
Talk about an Life changing event….”I’m waiting for another one!” Just like the great finally……

48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

  19. 26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

    27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

    28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

Daniel had received an answer from God for the king and as he stood before him to deliver it the king asked if Daniel was truly able. Easily Daniel could have answered that yes he was able but he knew where his help was from and chose a wiser answer. No one on earth can answer this question, but God! Daniel gave credit to God before he gave an answer. He did not take the glory for himself but rather honored God. In his humanity Daniel could have become arrogant that God allowed him the knowledge and boasted of how great he must be for God to bestow such a gift upon him, but instead Daniel was humble realizing that he was just a man and God could just as easily taken away his interpretation as He gave it.

    Matthew 23:12
12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Daniels choice to give credit where it was due is a great example of this verse. He humbled himself and was exalted to a high position. Only with Gods help can we see the reality of this principle.

  20. GOD IS:

47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

This is the same effect that God wants to have on the people he brings to POFW. He wants them to see his might, his power, his glory and more and be revered & worshipped. We must show forth his praise to them because we already know he is awesome! They must know that “God Is” through the gifts of the Spirit & through feeling his presence we usher in through praise.

  21. This chapter illustrates reveal. The Lord (Jesus) revealed what the king sought, through his servant; “But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets”. The Lord will reveal; “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  22. 46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

    God’s Favor…

In this story of Daniel we see God giving favor to him by allowing him to interpret the dream of the King. By doing this Daniel obtained great favor with the king and was no longer a prisoner. This chapter reminds me of a verse in the bible:” A man’s gift maketh room for itself and brings him before Kings”.

  23. 47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

  24. Dreams

In ancient times, dreams were considered important as a means of foretelling the future and communicating the will of the gods. Interpreting dreams was the responsibility of the magicians, sorcerers and astrologers in the king’s court. Formulas, books, astrological signs and discussions all played a part in determining the meaning of a dream.

The king’s threat to kill all the wise men of Babylon if his dream isn’t revealed and interpreted extends to Daniel and his friends. In order to stay the execution order, they turn to God, the only One who has the ability to do what the king asks.

  25. 20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

Daniel reassures me that it is God who sets up Governments & their rulers.
Don’t be troubled or overwhelmed by the decisions of kings & presidents, parliaments & legislatures the government of The Lord Jesus Christ reigns.

  26. But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart. -Daniel 2:30

When God gives us insight or wisdom, we have to remember its not us. We are nothing without The Lord Jesus Christ. It’s is God working thru us.

  27. 47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

    Who is our God..?
Wow! What a chapter… So many great things to get from this chapter. My attention was drawn to how this heathen king recognized who God is. God of gods and Lord of kings. If such a worldly king of Babylon can recognize God why then many people just do not give the honor, respect, praise, and glory that He deserves. For a minute, for a glimpse, for a moment of still time, he got it, he caught the revelation, the vision of the of His majesty, the Lord of kings, the God of gods. Imagine if we all gave this kind of respect and honor, how would the Lord respond to us? If when we walked into the sanctuary we knew that we are about to walk into His presence, that as we open the door to the prayer room we are knocking at the gates of His Holy presence. Wow could we capture this vision, could we take Him this seriously? Pastor gave us scripture after scripture that reveal who God is…the question is; What is GOD to you?…

  28. Proof

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

The long wanted proof that these men were able yo have knowledge of secret things. He wanted to have them prove that they were all knowing

In all actuality they had no power to tap into to get that knowledge. Daniel, on the other hand, spoke with his friends they were in one accord about the matter. Daniel was able to reveal the dream with the interpretation. This gave proof of God.

  29. In this Chapter it is apparent that a dream reveals many things. The dreams interpretation means alot, lives are at risk if it’s not revealed.
How important it is to communicate, a dream here means life and death. Lord strenghten me when I am weak, give me the knowledge, wisdom and understanding to know the difference.

  30. Uncreated One

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

    Isaiah 28:16-17
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Our God is not the creation but Creator; He is not made with hands but is the One who eclipses all that ever will be. The infinite Jesus is big enough to handle whatever temporal things we face. There’s nothing than can withstand Him, so why not cast every care upon Him? When God takes over, the Author of all creation can makes things however He desires. How amazing to think the only One with that power is also the One who loves us more than anything else created? He works for our good, not that we deserve it but because He loves us so. Our lives are in His hands, why not turn from cares of life to worship Him and have faith that He will work it out for the best? What can we do to fix things more than the Creator of all? We must let Him overcome the lies that say it’s too much and we won’t be blessed. He is God alone, He has overcome the world. Nothing is too hard for Him.

    1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

    John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

    1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

  31. 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

All things come from God. If we need more love, joy or peace, we must go before the creator and ask of it. God has all power and all his children have to do is ask and believe and God will do the rest. Our faith can take us higher than what we thought was imaginable.

  32. Passing the test the first time doesn’t mean you’ll never have to try at it again. God will test us again to show us that we are conquerors and have overcome the test. Praise be to God who is a forgiving God and will give us the chance to pick ourselves up after we’ve fallen!

  33. 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Because of the relationship Daniel had already established with the Lord, he had confidence that if he sought the Lord the answer would come. Likewise we should have that same relationship and confidence that whatever answer we have need, we can find it in the word of God, or God will reveal through some means.

  34. How blessed we are, to have the honor for the creator of the universe to show us the things of the future so we can be prepared for the the things to come! And not only that but can give us the interpretations of other people’s dreams as well.

And even though God allowed the Kind of Babylon to see these things, the dream did not have a purpose until God showed Daniel the dream and what it meant. As the scriptures says I believe in Jeremiah, I shall give you the words, but you will not be able to read them. And I whisper them to you but you can not understand them.

The world can not understand the messages and the things of God, but because we speak the language of God shown by the talking of tongues, he allows his people to understand these things.

A second meaning I get out of this passage is that sometimes people are given a dream but they do not understand and they do not know how it pertains to their lives. Sometimes it takes a man of God coming into their lives speaking to their dream to make it come to life.
