Daniel 7

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

  1. 16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

Confusion is not of God. When He begins to reveal mysteries He’s not intending to leave us in the dark. The interpretation awaits us God just wants us to seek it.

    1 John 3:22
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Even with the interpretation Daniel was troubled (28) He was given knowledged but He didn’t understand how these things would happen. Still today men and women of God seek that understanding. As we get closer to the return of Christ we see more signs of the end coming to pass but ther is still, and will always be, a mystery of the end until it comes to pass.

    Revelation 10:7
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

  2. The story of the saints

    Daniel 7:18
18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

    Daniel 7:21
    21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

    Daniel 7:22
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

    Daniel 7:25
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

    Daniel 7:27
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

This is the only chapter in Daniel that mentions the saints. The saints are set apart consecrated ones. They will possess the kingdom forever. The antichrist will make war with them. He will seek to wear them out, but they will be triumphant in the end.

    Who are the saints?

“Saints” are those who are holy, meaning they are spiritually pure, complete in character and separated from evil (1) because their relationship to the holy God purifies them and sets them apart for God’s purposes and (2) because they have separated themselves from the world’s corruption and devoted themselves to serve and worship God.” – fire bible

    1 Corinthians 1:2
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

    Revelation 13:7
And it was given unto him (antichrist) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

IF the church is still here, IF we are saints, IF like Israel in Egypt we witness the tribulation as they witnessed the plagues. There is one thing that remains true.

“No matter what the weapon is I want you to know that we win!”

    Revelation 15:3
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

  3. Wow.
THE SAINTS ARE GOING TO TAKE OVER and worship the KingOf kings and Lord of Lords and love Jesus cause we know who the real King is~ JesusIs His Name.

  4. Rough times to come but VICTORY is of the Saints.

Yes, there are tough times coming for the saints of God but the most important thing that we need to keep in mind is that Christ will reign FOREVER and we will be VICTORIOUS with Him.

  5. 28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

Some things God shows us is for us to make it a matter of prayer. God had revealed some pretty heavy prophetic things unto David in a dream. After he asked counsel of the meaning, he then kept the matter in his heart.
Likewise God reveals things to us, some are for us to act upon, some are for us to keep in our heart and make a matter of prayer continually. We have to learn to discern the difference. Too many people go around saying God showed me this and God said that, when it wasn’t for us to share, it was for us to pray about it and interceded about.

  6. 18: But the saints of the most high shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

    POSSESS THE KINGDOM

The saints of the most high can get what they want. We will be able to take whatever we need if we are true saints, its time we put our trust in God and let him lead us in the paths we should go,

  7. AWAITING THE VERDICT

Some of the most nerve racking, anxious times we could experience are when we are awaiting a decision. If you have ever been involved in or around a court case, you well know that the judge and judgement is the most important factor in the entire process. It matters not who appears to be winning or even who the favorite is.

In our LIVES we have been privileged to live in a condition of freedom and have been granted the power of choice. Our choices WILL determine our ETERNAL destiny. As JUDGEMENT sits on the adversary, so shall it sit on our lives until that fateful day of JUDGEMENT.

Be encouraged today and in the days coming that even though it may appear that we are losing control, or being overwhelmed, we are not defeated. We are promised VICTORY in CHRIST JESUS.

Stay in the Church, remain in the Kingdom of GOD, continue in the BATTLE for your FAITH. While AWAITING THE VERDICT build your FAITH, walk in the SPIRIT, obey the WORD of GOD, PRAY everywhere, REJOICE evermore.

GOD BLESS you ALL and we wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  8. What a vision. We need to take the time to understand these messages. Many Christians want the blessing of end time, but not the reality. We can see here what will be reality of things to come. We can see it in the media of how close we are to this time. The church needs to stop playing games and realize that now is the time to get ready for the coming of God.

  9. This chapter reminded me of this song, there are some dreams that we have had and are praying about and God will deliver when we rely on him.

A hand of fear gripped the crowd
    That day at Jairus’ home
When the doctor shook his head
    and said she’s gone
You could feel that mother’s heart break
You could hear them cry and mourn
Their little girl was only twelve years old

    Somewhere in the distance
    Outlined against the sun
There came a Man on a mission
    From the throne
    They said “look somebody’s coming”
But what they did not know
It was their Promise coming down
    that dusty road

    Chorus:
There’s a Promise coming down that dusty road
From His holy hand healing virtue flows
He’s got the keys to what you need
Death and hell He will defeat
There’s a Promise coming down that dusty road

    The wonder turned to mocking
    When Jesus did speak
‘Cause He said your daughter’s not dead
    She’s just asleep
Then He turned to the unbelievers
And He told them all “go home”
    They heard Him say
    “Leave Me and death alone.”

And then He laid His hand upon the child
And He looked death right in the eye
He said, “All power in Heaven
and earth it belongs to me”
And with a voice that sounds like thunder
He hurled death and hell He will defeat
Oh there’s a promise coming down your dusty road

  10. 28 That was the end of the vision. I, Daniel, was terrified by my thoughts and my face was pale with fear, but I kept these things to myself. (NLT)

Some things God just intends for us to keep to ourselves in our hearts to pray about.

  11. This chapter illustrates near. Daniel not only dreamed it, he was near it. One today can see that much of what Daniel dreamed has been fulfilled, and also know that the time is near for the return of the King (Jesus). What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  12. 1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters

It’s biblical for us to write our dreams Down. I’ve had plenty of dreams that I’m sure they mean something but I don’t quite them down them later on something happens that reminds me puff that steam but I can’t remember all of it. God could be warning us or preparing us for something that is coming. We should be prepared. Better sage than sorry

  13. So let’s deal with the little horn power. The first thing we notice, is that it is a ‘little’ horn. We know from the above that the horns represent kings/kingdoms, so this little horn is a little kingdom. Believe it or not, the Vatican state is a COUNTRY! It’s the smallest country there is, which matches this ‘little’ horn. The next thing we notice is that it rises up ‘among’ the other horns. When Daniel was considering the ten horns, this little horn came up ‘among’ them. This has two implications. The first is that the other ten horns were already there, so this little horn came up AFTER the ten, and the little horn came up ‘among’ them, therefore this little kingdom came up in the same area as the other ten kingdoms. Does this match the the Papal Church of Rome? Yes it does! You see, Pagan Rome fell in 476 AD and split into the ten kingdoms of Europe. The Roman Catholic Church came to power in 538 AD (which is after Rome split into the ten kingdoms). Also, the Roman Catholic Church came up ‘among’ the ten kingdoms of Europe.

  14. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

There are promises throughout the word of God that should exite us about our future, but not only our futures but right now. We are in our time now. We are the children of God now. We have dominion over our city and it has been given over to us. We have to not only stand on the promises but also apply them. The application of the word is the key role to ant victory

  15. 28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
    Silence is golden…
Sometimes its just best to hold a matter in your heart instead of telling the world. Sometimes I believe God reveals things to us just to see if he can trust us with sensitive matters. When we prove that we can then he will open our understanding to greater things. It is important to take some things to prayer or just to hold some things in our spirit until God is ready to reveal them.

  16. 2. Dan’-iel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3. Daniel’s dream and explanation 16.

  17. 28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

Not everyone will understand what God reveals to you, that’s why it was revealed to you. You will not always be understood but as long as you stay in the will of God you have nothing to be ashamed of.

    Prayer works!

  18. 18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

I a talking about the Church triumphant. Its been through the flood, its been through the fire, but on of these days the church is going to move up higher.

    Thank you Jesus for victory!

  19. Cont. 16. I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. 17. 20. Wait Upon The Lord

28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

There are some things that will not make sense, that will even change us after we encounter them, but we must be careful in what we do next. A reaction will likely interfere with what God desires, but a response more likely to be Spirit-led than flesh-driven. And at that, the response we may need could be that of waiting on the Lord. There’s power in taking a step back, processing what has happened, and waiting to see what God is doing in all of it. Words are powerful, as can be an absence of them.

    Luke 2:15-19
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

    Genesis 37:5-11
5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? 11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

    Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Situations may not make sense, but there is strength in waiting upon the Lord. Sometimes the very best thing we can do is not mess with a situation but leave it in God’s hands and trust Him. Learning to leave it alone and not do anything or try to figure it out can be very difficult, but it’s worth it to let it play out God’s way.

    Isaiah 40:28
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

  21. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

    Not in my times…
I see here the great servant of God, Daniel, which had interpreted dreams and visions now to two different kingdoms, but a personal vision and dream troubled him. I immediately asked in my head, why? When God used him and have him understanding of visions, why not now? What was different this time? As we read you know that this is a prophetic chapter and a sign of the end times, however given to Daniel, shocked him do much and write it down many many years ago. There haven been dreams that the Lord had given me that I didn’t quite understand the meaning either but I prayed for the situation and or people, some have come to pass other have not yet. There is a reason why at the end we read that he kept the matter in his heart.. All the mysteries of God are so great but it’s comforting to to that in the end we win. We are victorious in Jesus Christ. Some things that the Lord show us we may not understand, because it may not be for our time, but from the book of Daniel, we learn one great thing, we are called to pray, to be intercesors to stand in the gap, to seek the Lord 3 or more times a day. God wants us to pray. Pray for ourselves, each other, the church, the city our nation. Daniel one of the greatest prayer warriors.

  22. Write It Down

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

Pastor is always telling us to write things down. It is easy to forget things that you don’t put o memory. As a teacher I know the more senses involved in the memory process them ore likely you re to remember. Alo it is easy for the size of your fish to change into a whopper if you don’t actually record it’s size.

Details are remembered. Reviilation is discovered. Sharing can occur.

  23. God is a constant and never changing, he is the same yesterday, today and forever. This is such an easy statement to say, all Christians believe this but sometimes we overlook this simple fact quite. And God delivers the same message to two different people, in two different ways.

Earlier in Daniel, the King was shown a vision of all the future kingdoms that would rule the earth and here Daniel is given pretty much the same dream but shown in different interpretation. One dream it was presented as a statue and as another, shown as different beasts.

We need to make sure to pay attention to our dreams, cause we never know what God may be trying to show us.

  24. 21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

We know satan will get the upper hand for a time but we must exercise our faith that it’s only for a season, then God will come with deliverance.

  25. Jesus- The name of the Ancient of Days

9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire……13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. Rev 1:13-14 ESV

These scriptures are used as evidence of the trinity, since the Son of man came to the Ancient of Days. Thus, they assert that Daniel saw a glimpse of Jesus in his exalted state, but he is distinct from God the Father.

The trinity can be summarized in the Athasnasian Creed as God the father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three beings making up one God. All of them are coequal and co-eternal. This creed states that the Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Holy Ghost and so on.

This assertion is flawed. Rev 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

“Alpha and Omega” These are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. This is another way of saying that God is the beginning and the ending of all things, including human history. God is from everlasting to everlasting; He is Lord over everything for creation to the consummation of history. To Him belong the final victory over evil and the ruler ship over all things. This same title or designation for God the Father is used for Jesus as God the Son in Rev 22:13.–Donald C. Stamps

Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last KJV

It really amazes me that some of the most intellectual of men cannot grasp the truth of God. The church needs to step up and claim dominion over false doctrine. False doctrine will bring billions of people to hell.
