Daniel 10

1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;

5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.

21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

  1. 18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

    GOD’S STRENGTH

Daniel said one touched him and gave him strength. He needed strength that only came from God. When we fight the battle of spiritual warfare, we need strength that comes from the supernatural. This takes prayer and fasting to get this kind of strength. We must keep our faith in God and our trust in God to obtain the kind of strength we need to fight these battles. God send us strength when we need the most. We must stay in touch with God to get this kind of strength. We must always worship and praise to obtain strength.

  2. 19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

Just speak the word Lord! Speak peace and let your peace that surpasses understanding overflow me. Speak life and let these dry bones and sorrowful spirit come to life. Speak strength and let the very core of my being and spirit be strengthened. Yes Lord just speak the Word for your word is immeasurably powerful and Your spirit is Holy.
Let me not forget also that your Holy Spirit lives in me, let us not forget there is death and life in the tounge, or the promise that we’ll have what we say. Let us by the power of your name also speak life in every situation

  3. A position of reverence

9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

2 Chronicle 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Proverbs 28: 14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

I like how it says “that feareth alway” not always, but all the way, not sometimes, but all the time until the end. We must keep ourselves in a position of reverence to receive God’s purpose in our lives.

  4. Daniel 10:19 “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!”As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”

    Spiritual warefare…
It is evident that the Lord desires to give us understanding, knowledge, direction, guidance, and that which we ask of him, as we see in verse 12 when ask the minute we humble ourselves God provides an answer but then is when we engage on spiritual warefare. We’re asking for something but time and time passes and we think well God forgot… Did he really? Or is it that your answer is tied up somewhere in the heavenlies? And your fasting and praying is actually fighting the spirits in the air. When the messenger of God reached Daniel, Daniel’s strength was gone. Supernatural strength came then; he recieved a divne touch and the Lord knows when we need it most. I love the way the NLT version puts it,
Peace! Be encouraged, be strong… Part of our strength comes from having peace; peace that only God, peace that will crush Satan! I live how the teachings we’ve had just come into place. Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Be encouraged… David encoraged himself in the Lord.
1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. And we know that the Joy of the Lord is our strength… I see here great tactics for spiritual warfare. Fasting, prayer, encoraged in the the Word, having the Joy and peace… The answer is coming and we must know that our battle is against principalities in the heavens.

  5. This chapter illustrates heard. Daniel was heard; “for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard”. One will be heard, when one seeks, and speaks with one’s heart. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  6. Daniel 10:2 The entirety of chapter 10 is concerned with Daniel’s preparation to receive the vision. The emphasis of the chapter is the strengthening of Daniel and the satanic opposition that he and God’s angels encountered.

  7. 20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.

We battle against principalities & spiritual wickedness in high places to win this city. We must use the tools we’ve been given for this is not a carnal fight. It will take prayer & fasting for this is the year of dominion. Through His word, strength & annointing we can each make a difference when we do it in unity.

  8. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel interceded for a people not born yet. His burden was in the future of the people of God. He fasted and prayed about something that had no effect on him or the people around him.

What able amazing testimony to a close relationship with God. Daniel cared about the future because God cares. What a blessing to love what he loves and hate what he hates! This is knowing him.

  9. iLove to eat the Word

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

There’s a battle going on. The prince of the power of the air wrestles against cities and nations. The way to break through is to pray and fast. We need the Prince Michael to fight for the city of Fort Worth.

  10. 19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

When we are weak. He is strong. This is a great scripture to remember when we are weak.

  11. DONT STOP PRAYING, HELP IS ON THE WAY

We often find ourselves in similar predicament of delayed answers, revelations or understanding. Our adversaries desire to frustrate not only us but more importantly, our FAITH in GOD’s ability and desire to answer our petitions. Doubt is satan’s most effective tool of deceit. Doubt comes through questioning. Questioning is the result of weak or depleted FAITH.

Our persistence in and through prayer is our connection and gateway to the answers we so desperately seek. We have multiple examples in the WORD of GOD to inspire us to “PRAY ON” in and for the answer; for we know not when an adversary has simply detained the answer, better yet we know not when the GOD of GLORY will dispatch the archangel on our behalf.

The safest counsel we could receive is to HOLD ON, cause HELP is ON the WAY.

    Consider:

Luke 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
    4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Acts 12:11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

  12. WOW!!!!!!!’
    Lord thank you..
I just thank you only you know why and what can keep me going and your encouragement is so much more then anything else on this sick uncaring earth Lord I love you and thank you I love you so dearly

  13. 16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

In Him we are made strong. There’s nothing like being in the presence of the Lord most high. His word encourages, leads and guides, and His presence brings a peace and joy that no man or no thing can take away.

  14. SOO Many Good Things!

1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. 2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

What do you do when you are in trouble or get information you don’t like? Do you go around sulking and spreading bad news? Daniel shows us that we should seek God privately.

7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

Being alone is not bad. Like the wheat that falls to die by itself sometimes you need to be alone for your message. God doesn’t just have one answer for everyone (except Jesus–that is the ultimate answer). God has individualized answers for his individual followers. He is a personal God that made us and how he deals with us very unique. Sometimes we just need to get alone with God. It’s not always a bad thing when your friends scatter. Sometimes it just gives the place for you to clearly hear God!

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

From the time he set his heart God heard him. If God is no respect or of persons then he can hear us when our heart turns too. It is repentance. His heart turned from what ever else and turned to God! Then the response–“I am come for thy words.” Are my words good enough to make someone come to respond to them? Are your words good enough for God to come for your words? Wow! Makes me think back on the things I say.

  15. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. (Daniel 10:12 KJV)

Daniel had a made up mind and he continually disciplined and pushed himself to be the man called him to be. God looked down and saw Daniel that he was striving t be that man. No one is going to be perfect, but God sees your heart whether you are truly giving 100% or you are just putting on a show.

  16. 8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

Like Daniel, there are times when all of us feel alone in the world, like there is noone to care for us or understand us. We lose track of our sight on God and his presence as other things distract our gaze from him. We’ll see the terrifying and horrific that go on in this world and all around us.

Sometimes our circumstances in life, we see only our obstacle in front of us. The mountain we have to climb, the ocean we have to cross or the desert we have to tred upon and our life seems hopeless, like there is no escape from our situation we stuck in, we lose our strength and our will to go on.

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

But do not fear the things of this world! Your prayers are truly heard by God, there is nothing that the world can put before you that God cannot overcome.

Though our trials and tribulations drain us of our strength, our spirit and our will, all we need is one touch from the Lord and he can strengthen us and give the will to go on!

Luke 1:51 He hath shewed strength with his arm, he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

Luke 22:31-32 And the Lord said Simon, Simon behold Satan hath desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethen.

Luke 22:42-43 Saying Father if thou be willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless not my will but thine be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven strengthening him.

Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

  17. In our times of weakness He is strong and when we have no where left to go He is there with His arms open.
God I can’t thank you enough for time and time again of the unworthy love and grave you’ve given me!

  18. 14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

Standby POFW the man of God has received a word for us to enter into the New Year!

Hear the word of the Lord!

  19. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
    God hears…
These verses more than most really prove to me the God hears my prayers even when I dont get a answer quickly. It proves to me that God is interested in the words I say and in my petition. Daniel received a great word of the Lord that day because he humbled himself and fasted. If we want God to hear our prayers and answer like that we must pray and fast ourselves.

  20. Desperate

2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

When we get desperate, we go to extremes. During times of desperation, it can either drive us to God or away from Him. That desperation can be channeled through walking in the Spirit and not after the flesh. What animates us leads us, so we must ask what is nourishing us. Times of desperation are usually associated with sadness, but when we seek God we can trust joy to be on the other side of desperation. The fountain of His Spirit displaces the burdens and heaviness and gives us the refreshing we need for the journey. Desperation should fine-tuned our craving for God and can becoming a blessing if we let God lead us through it.

    Psalms 63:1-7
1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. 7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

  21. 1. In the third year of Cy’-rus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Dan’-iel, whose name was called Bel-te-shaz’-zar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. 2. In those days I Dan’-iel was mourning three full weeks. 3. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. 4. And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hid’-de-kel; 5. Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of U’-phaz: Daniel went on a long fast of mourning.

  22. Spiritual warfare

What is really going on when you don’t get an answer from God? Here is an illustration of the spiritual warfare that goes on unawares. Daniel prayed, God heard and sent the answer to him. However, that message was delayed for 21 days because the prince of Persia blocked the angels way. This prince of Persia is a demon of the kingdom of Satan. It wasn’t until the arch angel Michael showed up to that the messenger was allowed to go to Daniel.

This is what is going on today. Sometimes we don’t receive the answer to our pray because Satan desires to hinder our prayers (2 Cor 2:11) so we must persevere in prayer (Luke 181-18) because we are at war. There are spiritual forces that must be thwarted. (Eph 6:11-12)
