Zechariah 1

1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

2 The Lord hath been sore displeased with your fathers.

3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.

5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

7 Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.

9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.

10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the Lord hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

11 And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.

12 Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?

13 And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.

14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lordshall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

18 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.

19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

20 And the Lord shewed me four carpenters.

21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

  1. 4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.

5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

Have we heard the saying (like father like son), We need to break the cycle and decide we need God. We must turn from our evil ways and doings and hearken unto God.
Our fathers had ears, but they did not hear.

and having ears, hear ye not?

    Mark 8:18
18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

A step further, can’t you remember what I promised and what my commandments are!

    Matt 13:15

15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

If we are converted, we must
    1. See who we are and where we are.
    2. Hear the word of The Lord and what God has to say to us.
    3. Understand what God wants us to do and obey him.

5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

Can we answer these questions, where are our fathers?
They have went the way of the whole earth wondering after the wrong things. Committing evil!

The prophets, yes their prophecy will live forever, and what have we done about it?

I say it is time we hear the prophets and obey God’s word and live forever and see what God will do for us!

  2. we know everything we do bad isn’t godly yet we keep doing it.WHY cause it pleasures us because it satisfies us.. our GOD has done so much for us to throw it all away and wed waist his time on trash
…thank you JESUS for your life, new day to breath, and a new day to rejoice for all you done ❤ love ya

  3. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

    James 4:8 KJV
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

It isn’t just idle talk, it’s a promise from God – when we turn from our ways and seek Him, He will draw us close to Him.

  4. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

When we turn towards God he is going to be there for us. We (I) have to get self out the way and let God be the center of our lives. My prayer everyday is God create in me a clean heart renew in me the right spirit.
The more we seek God the more we will love him.

  5. The Word of God and His Perfect timing.

7 Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

Sebat. The first month of the Jewish civil year, and the eleventh of the ecclesiastical year-from the new moon of February to that of March.

For the year of 2014 the new moon is March 1st.

So is this a coincidence, or those this mean that the words that follow are directed to us? I don’t believe the word of God is full of coincidence, I believe the word of God is as true now as it was then. So what are we to do? LISTEN, Mark 4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. HEARING is a great part of effective communication. One of the biggest complaint from the deaf community is the difficulty of communicating with the hearing world. If we want to EFFECTIVELY follow our God we must HEAR what HE has to say, FOLLOW what He ask of us, and DO ask He says. It is not as simple as just listening for James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

God always gives us the answer to begin with so follow His instruction on verse 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

Let’s not do like our fathers did, start a new trend, be the leader, the head of your home, and follow CHRIST.

  6. Verses 16-17 MSG “‘I’ve come back to Jerusalem, but with compassion this time.’ This is God speaking. ‘I’ll see to it that my Temple is rebuilt.’ A Decree of God-of-the-Angel-Armies! ‘The rebuilding operation is already staked out.’ Say it again—a Decree of God-of-the-Angel-Armies: ‘My cities will prosper again, God will comfort Zion again, Jerusalem will be back in my favor again.’” I believe (know in faith) that our “building operation is already staked out” too. In reading yesterday’s blogs, I was so excited to see the unity in thought; but, NOW we must put it into action.

  7. THE FATHERS LOVE

14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

The term LOVE has been used and abused by society for ages. LOVE is used widely for frivolous things of this world and abused by selfish people to gain control of others.

    LOVE encompasses many positive attributes.

    TEV
    1Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;
    5 love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs;
6 love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
7 Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.
    8 Love is eternal.

Through the development of these attributes, come relationship, thrigh relationship comes possessiveness and this is where jealousy enters and influences the decisions of many.

THE FATHERS LOVE is identified by HIS LOVE for HIS children through jealousy.

Jealousy – 7065. aÎn∂q qana}, kaw-naw´; a primitive root; to be (causatively, make) zealous, i.e. (in a bad sense) jealous or envious:—(be) envy(-ious), be (move to, provoke to) jealous(-y), x very, (be) zeal(-ous).

The LOVE of GOD provokes him to envy whatever his children give the attention; time, talent, and treasure to other than the promotion of HIS KINGDOM.

Let us carefully and prayerfully examine our daily choices that ultimately affect our GOD and HIS Kingdom and may our wise decisions not provoke the LORD to jealousy that he may be offended by our actions.

  8. The mercy in the red horse

Understanding that the red horse is the same as the horse in revelation we get an interesting insight into prophetic fulfillment.

The red horse is communism. It is the first of the four horsemen, and the first seal broken.

Notice the angel asked “how long wilt thou not have mercy upon Jerusalem?”

This tells me that Endtime prophetic fulfillment is God expressing mercy. What seems like terror and a horror is really God giving us time, and pushes people toward him.

He knows when bad times come people will run to him.

    Isaiah 26:9
    With my soul have I desired thee in the night;
yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:
for when thy judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

  9. A Vision of Horses
    Zechariah 1:7 –6:8
The eight night visions : All eight night visions occurred on one night and constitute a unity of Revelation.
The first is most important because it provides a key for understanding the other seven. The night visions were not presented to the prophet in the form of a dream

  10. Sure Mercies

17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

    Isaiah 55:1-3
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

    Isaiah 55:3 AMP
Incline your ear submit and consent to the divine will and come to Me; hear, and your soul will revive; and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with you, even the sure mercy kindness, goodwill, and compassion promised to David.

    Psalm 103:8-14
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

    Zeechariah 1:5-6
5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

The Lord has dealt so kindly with us, not after what we deserve but after His mercy. “The fathers” mentioned in this chapter had the opportunity to step into the amazing mercies of God but chose to take instead what was coming to them because of their actions. We do not have to doom ourselves to such a fate but have the gift of salvation set before us. Just because we deserve it doesn’t mean we have to accept condemnation and death. The Blood sets as the answer for every sin we’ve ever done or ever could do. We need only to hear God and answer His call to come to Him and receive that gift of His sure mercies and salvation.

  11. Yes!!!

Everything that happens is allowed by GOD, but it doesn’t mean that it was GOD’S WILL for JUDAH TO BE SCATTERED (because of disobedience, pride and arrogance) but GOD IS MERCIFUL AND SOOO GRACIOUS!!!
If disobedience causes division, then by OBEDIENCE WE STOMP ON THE ENEMY AND BRING UNITY!!!
I PRAISE YOU JESUS!!! THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU DADDY!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  12. 19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 And the Lord shewed me four carpenters.
21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

    Judah – Praise is scattered.
    Israel- The Church is scattered

Yet, although everything looks like choas, The Lord has made a way, He has sent carpenters to rebuild what the world is working so hard to tear apart.

The Word tells us that ALL things work for te good of those who are called. We have a promise, WE WIN!

We must worship. Truly worship Him in spirit and in truth, and Hell will have no choice but to scatter.

  13. Continue…., but rather with the prophet in some form of a trance(Acts 10:10,11:15 Rev.1:10). The overall message of these visions for the nation of Zechariah’s day was “The Lord is with you; therefore, build the temple.” For the Israel of the future, the visions outline the prophetic program for Israel from the time of restoration from the Babylonian captivity to the institution of the millennial kingdom.

1.The first vision: The man among the myrtle trees

Isaiah 55:13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be
    cut off.

  14. But everything I said through my servants the prophets happened to your ancestors, just as I said. As a result, they repented and said, ‘We have received what we deserved from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. He has done what he said he would do.’” (Zechariah 1:6 NLT)

My God is truth. He cannot lie. Thankful for His word.

God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. (Hebrews 6:17, 18 NLT)

  15. Zechariah 1:3-4 Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’ Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’

    Breaking the curse…
Just because your past family grew up in certain situations does not mean that one may have to follow in the same steps of disobedience. We are all presented with the same opportunities and the light of the gospel. God is not a respecter of persons and His love and mercy extends to all. He really wants to bless His people, but the choices people are willing to make show themselves in their lives. Some people choose to obey part of the Word but when it starts getting uncomfortable they say oh no that’s the Old Testament, or that was back in the law now we live by grace. The Word says
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

So The Lord in His great love will lead you to opportunity of obedience, righteous living, casting down every idol and trusting in Him. From tithes to letting go of your will. Obedience is the key to success and blessing.

There is no blessing in disobedience but obedience will cause the Breaker to go before you and straighten your paths, your lifestyle, your eternity…

Isaiah 45:2-3 ‘I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronzeAnd cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.

When the light of truth comes, why then shall one even attempt to continue living in the darkness of deception, loosing out on what The Lord has.. Mercy and grace is available to everyone. We must take the first step, turn to Him, The Lord Jesus and He will cause His face to shine upon us, and turn away from the lies of wicked ways, then blessings of forgiveness love and joy shall surely come.

  16. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.

We must turn from our evil ways and turn to God so that one day we might see God face to face and live eternity with him.

  17. 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

We all know of someone who did not heed the word of God, and we have seen the consequence of it. Gods word is true! Don’t dismiss it.

  18. Vs.3, “Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Vs.4, “Be not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.”

James 4:8 says, “Draw night to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

TURN means 1. to change the position of. 2. to reverse the position of. 3. to cause to change one’s intentions; actions; ect…
DRAW means 1. to make move towards one. 2. to come; move; approach.

Their fathers had evil ways and doings and did not listen to the voice of God but turned a deaf ear to him, and because of it, God turned away from them. Now God is asking the people not to follow in the ways and doings of their fathers but to turn (reverse their position or change their intentions) and come to him, and if they did, he would also turn ( change his position) and come to them.

We have this same promise today. If we will draw nigh to God ( come, move towards, or approach), then he will draw nigh to us (he will come, move towards, and approach us).

The only way this can happen is through REPENTANCE. We have to cleanse ourselves and purify our hearts.

  19. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

  20. 4 Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’ (NLT)

Despite how we were brought up and into the church, we must listen and be obedient to what God tells us.

  21. This chapter illustrates fulfillment. It was acknowledged the Lord (Jesus) did as he said; “Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us”. One is wise to make ready, as the word of God (Jesus) will be fulfilled; “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be”. What a mighty God we serve! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  22. ILove to Eat the Word

    God is Waiting on Us
3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

God is waiting on us to repent, waiting on out hearts to be molded and turn back to himself. The Word says, “draw nigh into him and he will draw nigh unto you.

We are to take our miracle by force. Not take it by force from God, (God already gave it as a free gift, but take it from the lying devil. God wants us to have relationship with him, to seek him first and serve him first.

  23. Your past is not your present.

4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.

Why do we think that our past will become our future? We have a say in what happens to us. When we follow Gods will for our lives , he changes everything. What choices we make we decide on our future. Make good choices , get good things. Your choices make or break your future.

  24. Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’ “Where are your ancestors now? They and the prophets are long dead. (Zechariah 1:4, 5 NLT)

What good is all the sacrifice we do if there’s no obedience to God’s word.
The obedience we have toward God’s voice ( in his word, the pastor, or the prophet) determines the faith, trust. And love you have for him! I need not to only be a hearer of his word but a doer.
But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord : your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22 NLT)

  25. God’s intervention for praise

20 And the Lord shewed me four carpenters. 21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head:but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it
    (Zechariah 1:20-21 KJV)

The four horns were their to scatter Judah. These horns are the four kingdoms that would rule over Judah. God sent the carpenters to destroy these horns.

In life, situations will arise to combat God’s people. For every enemy of God’s people, God has provided a counteracting power adequate to destroy it
    (Zechariah 1:20 JFB)

We need to tell every problem that we have a God how is able to deliver us from our problem. God will intervene for praise.

  26. 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

‘I will give you the holy and sure mercies promised to David.’ Acts 13:32-34
Through Jesus we have become partakers of the “sure mercies” of David. Those sure mercies are simply the steadfast intentions of God to do us good. We need to know that God is a God of compassion and mercy.   Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us;”Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” Isaiah 54:7-8 says of God; “For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” says the LORD, your Redeemer.”
What a great comfort we can have even in the middle of the storm.

  27. 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: -Hebrews 9:27

Heed the word of The Lord while you are in the land of the living. There is coming a day when we will give an account for the things done in this life.

  28. 2 “I, the Lord, was very angry with your ancestors. 3 Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’ 4 Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’

5 “Where are your ancestors now? They and the prophets are long dead. 6 But everything I said through my servants the prophets happened to your ancestors, just as I said. As a result, they repented and said, ‘We have received what we deserved from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. He has done what he said he would do.’”

We must take responsibility for our own actions. We cannot follow the path of sin because our family follows that path, nor can we make it to heaven because our family does. It is our own choice, and we must make it and live accordingly. God’s word cannot and will not lie. There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun, we must choose our steps wisely and carefully according to the commandments of the Lord.

  29. 12 Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?

  30. No matter our past or family history, God wants us to be with Him. He wants all of us and wants it now.
I pray that God create in me a hungry spirit for the things that is His will.

  31. Myrtle Trees

Three times Zechariah notes that the heavely messengers stands among the myrtle trees. Myrtle is a common but beautiful bush adorned with starry white flowers bursting with many yellow staments. Myrtle comes from the Greek word for “perfume.” Myrtle blossoms emit a scent more exquisite than that of a rose. Myrtle’s dark berries have medicinal properties. Its shiny leaves add flavor to food, and its branches are used to construct the booths for the Feast of Tabernacles. On barren hillsides, the shrub grows plentiful but is often small. When well-tended, deep-rooted and well-watered, the evergreen can grow to 18 feet in height. Queen Esther’s Hebrew name, Hadassah, is from ‘hadas’ meaning “myrtle”. In verse 11 the man standing among the myrtle trees is the angel of the Lord. Judah-praise has been scattered, meaning the incense of praise is no longer magnifiying the Lord. Scripture says that if his people didn’t praise, that the stones will cry out. “He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” (Luk 19:40). The Lord says that he is very jealous for Jerusalem (place of worship) and Zion (His holy hill), he plans to discipline them in order to restore and “throw down” the 4 horns that have scattered Judah. Jesus is coming to judge sin and those attached to it, because it has divided and scattered his people from him. We ultimately have a choice to repent and return to praise and worship. When we do He will show up in our worship with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt-he will refill his people with his Spirit. His people will overflow with posperity- and fill our bellies with his living water, the Lord will again comfort Zion-his people with his Spirit and choose (Jerusalem) us his temple as his place of dwelling and worship.

  32. The Vision of the Horses 7. Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Se’-bat, in the second year of Da-ri’-us, came the word of the LORD unto Zech-a-ri’-ah, the son Ber-e-chi’-ah,, the son of Id’-do the prophet, saying, 8. I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white 9. Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be. 10. And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

  33. “I, the Lord, was very angry with your ancestors. Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’ Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’ (Zechariah 1:2-4 NLT)

Break the chain from your families wrong doings. You can live a righteous life allowing God to remove those evil things that followed your families…

  34. 4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.

It’s a dangerous thing to ignore a warning from God. This is how the enemy can get you, when you don’t listen to what God has to say. We should heed every word from God because this is what is going keep us from the path of harm.

  35. 14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
