Zechariah 6

1 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.

2 In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

3 And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.

7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

9 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

10 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of theLord:

13 Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord.

15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

  1. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

  2. 4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

Brother Treadwell brought out how these were the spirits of the day we live. There is always spirits to conquer in our life, things we have to overcome as individuals and a church. We must go out each day with a determination to conquer what is in our way, obstacles to hinder us in our walk with God!
There will always be such things in our way. I pray everyday that God will give me wisdom to use what obstacles that comes my way to teach me a lesson. There was a people mentioned in the word of God that were ever learning, but never came to the knowledge of the truth.
I want to learn with the knowledge of the truth, and use truth to walk a walk with progress towards the mark of the prize of the high calling of God.
Yes there are spirits out there and I want to let The Spirit of God guide me in these last days.

  3. Verse 15 AMP “And those who are far off shall come and help build the temple of the Lord, and you shall know (recognize and understand) that the Lord sent me [Zechariah] to you. And [your part in this] shall come to pass if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.”

Same verse MSG “People will come from faraway places to pitch in and rebuild the Temple of God. This will confirm that God-of-the-Angel-Armies did, in fact, send me to you. All this follows as you put your minds to a life of responsive obedience to the voice of your God.”

This verse reminds me of our building project (IFT). So many have come already and more are to come to pitch in (IFT) from faraway places. If you want [your part in this] just like the above verse spoke of, we must diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God. We all have a part to play in IFT (whether if its in a financial way, spiritual way, time way, praise way, talent way); we can all do our part to see it come to pass.

  4. 5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

What spirits are you listening to?

  5. 12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of theLord:
13 Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

The promise. What is The Branch? The blood line from were Jesus is to be born from. The Old Testament reflects the New. In vs.13 it shows us that there is coming that day that Jesus will sit on His thrown and reign forever.

  6. This chapter illustrates obedience. The chariots and horses went forth accordingly, and the silver and gold was collected accordingly. There is a purpose for all things and everyone; as such it is imperative that one is obedient to God (Jesus) and the man of God, for then one will witness the miraculous. What a mighty God we serve! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  7. 4-10
Seven is symbolic of prefection and eyes represent Gods omniscience. The future are designed by God.Future the key which Gods intent to forgive mans sin is written in stone engraved and absolutely certain.

  8. CONTINGENT PROMISE

15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

We find great PROMISE in this verse. Help is on the way! The only requirement is to diligently or faithfully obey the voice of the LORD. We are wise to examine ourselves and our lives to evaluate if we are walking in obedience in every area of our life.

It is foolish to live a life of disobedience and then cry out for help. We possess the power to be obedient, most choose not to be obedient.

Revelation 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

1Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

HELP is on the way to build the temple. Let’s choose to OBEY.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  9. This Is That

15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

    Zechariah 6:15 NLT
People will come from distant lands to rebuild the Temple of the Lord. And when this happens, you will know that my messages have been from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. All this will happen if you carefully obey what the Lord your God says.

    Acts 2:14-17, 38-39
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

    16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Reading v15 reminds me of the familiar Acts 2:39. We see a correlation between the fulfillment of prophecy and the participation of both those near and far with the rebuilding of the temple. We also see that when prophecy is fulfilled in believers, it becomes a sign of “This Is That…” to those around that God’s Word was true.

It stirs in me how each of us is an important piece of the puzzle in revealing “This Is That” to all those watching, and namely this region of Fort Worth. It starts with us, then our families and those close, and then extends to reaching those afar off.

Building the House of God was not a simple, quick task but a major undertaking, just as it is today. However, when we all act together in the big picture, we find that the world will see just what it is that has ahold of us.

    Matthew 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

  10. 12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord:

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Have you ever been to a vineyard? The vine is not only the trunk but also the long strong branches that come out of it. This vine or branch can be very long sometimes 2 to 3 yards so they are supported with sticks so the weight of the smaller branches that bare the fruit won’t break off. That smaller branch is us, while the larger branch or vine is Jesus.

  11. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

God has prepared hearts of true labors that are ready and willing to work in the field to build up the temple of the Lord. Daily we must be conscious of those around us that we anticipate telling the lost about Jesus and the plan of Salvation He has for their lives, so that we can be part of growing God’s Kingdom.

  12. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

  13. Build the temple with captives

    Zechariah 6:11
Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

The resources of the captives will be used to bless the man of God. Afterwards, the temple comes.

    Zechariah 6:15
“And those who are far off shall come and help to build the temple of the Lord. And you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.”

New converts will gather together and help to build the house if God. This revival comes only through obedience.

    Give sacrificial ly
    Invest with integrity
    Pray with fervency
    Study cogently
    Love unselfishly
    Grow exponentially

Then see and know the work of The Lord.

  14. The Four Chariots 1. And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. 2. In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; 3. And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. 4. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? 5. And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

  15. ILove to eat the Word
15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

“Diligently obey” are the key words and phrase.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: (Isaiah 1:19 KJV)

    James 5:16
    King James Version (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

  16. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

The contingency here is the word diligent. Diligence is judged in the heart of a man. Only you and God know if you are really being diligent. It is very dangerous territory to walk in a partially committed life. Partial commitment is what Judas had, but he ended up selling out and losing his life. The same happens when we are partially committed to the work of The Lord. The fully committed or diligent servant gets the reward in the kingdom. There is a harvest of people that would bless the kingdom and the work of God waiting on the diligence of a few in our midst. The choice is ours to examine our hearts to find whether we are truly diligent in our walk and work with God.

  17. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

  18. Diligently Obey
15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.
There in lies the rub. To diligently obey. When we half heartedly obey it doesn’t cut it. When we reluctaltly obey, that doesn’t cut it. It is when we diligently obey that Jesus is happy with us. God help me to diligently obey!

  19. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

Again we see the benefit of obedience. It says diligently obey, which means no short cuts, not doing things your way, but the Lord’s way. As we were taught; blessing is the key to success and obedience is better than sacrifice

  20. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

God will send many from far off that are ready and willing to work for the kingdom. We need to be ready as a body to accept and expand POFW… God has many great things planned, this is just the tip of the iceberg!

  21. 8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

The black horse is capitalism. The white horse is Catholicism. The love of money, and material things coupled with the spirit of religiosity silences God’s spirit in the north country.

It’s up to the church to shine the true light of truth, and that God is our provider!

  22. 11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

Here we see that God has given a task, but He left out many things. In order to take the gold and silver, and cause it to make a crown, there are several painstaking steps to be taken:
1 the gold/ silver has to be found and gathered
2 it has to be stripped of all impurities, gems removed from the necklaces, or rinigs, or gauntlets
3 the gold/ silver has to be melted
4 there has to be a mold made to pour the gold/ silver into
it has to be beaten into shape, and polished.

There is more, but that is the abridged version. Jesus speaks to us, telling us to make sacrifices, ( crowns) for Him, but do we listen? do we put a time frame on it? “God it can only take this long, or I will just quit.”
Our lives are writen epistles read of all men, and are to be lived so as to be crowns that we one day will get to lay before the King of Kings. How much aork are we really putting into our crowns? What are people reading about Him, from my life?

  23. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

With this promise comes a responsibility. Our part is to diligently obey the vouce of the Lord your God. This reminds me of what the Lodd spoke to us ar Warfare prayer…do we know his voice? He said many of us didn’t or doubted.
I want to know his voice & him to know mine.

  24. Both Priest and King

Here a crown is molded for, and worn by, Joshua, the high priest in Zechariah’s day. There is no precedent for crowning a high priest as king. Levitical priests and Davidic kings were from two seperate family lines, from two different tribes. This scene foreshadows the Messiah, “the Branch” (Zec 6:12), who will be both our priest and our king as Joshua’s name, Yeshua, is the same word we use for Jesus.

  25. Zechariah 6:1-8 The eight vision , the vision of the four chariots, shows that God’s judgment has finally and fully rested on Babylon. Even though there might be a flare up (which was realized in the fifth year of Darius’s reign–just three years later) they need not let that deter them from building the temple (which was not completed until the sixth year of Darius’s reign). God has all things under complete control. The chariots reveal to future Israel why the Messiah can reign universally over all the world –all enemies are judged and none can rise up against the authority of the king.
