Acts 11

1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

3 Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

4 But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

5 I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

6 Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

10 And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

11 And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

27 And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

  1. 20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

These men began to preach Jesus, every where they went and people turned unto the Lord. All these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas!
Barnabas was not just another man, he is the perfect example of what we should be.
    Barnabas was a
    1. Good man
    2. Full of the Holy Ghost
    3. Full of faith
This is what we should all strive to be, a man or woman that could make a difference. Verse 23 said that he exhorted them, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
We need to have a purpose, yes not just here, but have a reason to be here and do something. The old saying rolling with the punches, not for us today. We need to make up our mind I am going to do something for the kingdom.
Let’s wake up and preach Jesus not us!!!!

  2. He will tell you how you and everyone in your household can be saved!’ “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning. Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?” (Acts of the Apostles 11:14-17 NLT)
After I read yesterday’s chapter, I went into work rejoicing and thanking The Lord for bringing salvation to us! Today I continue to be joyful in reading The Word of GOD!!!!

For there is no respect of persons with God. (Romans 2:11 KJV)

  3. The spirit is in full operation. People that have been spread abroad because of persecution need to hear the wonderful news. The Gentiles finally have a seat at the master’s table.

No longer are the forced to eat the crumbs. There born again experience makes them the spiritual seed of Abraham.

28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Yet the enemy tries to end what God is doing. The church responds to the shortage by sending out resources, and aid.

The enemy attacks, but the gates of hell cannot prevail against the attack of the church!

Interestingly the prophet Abagus gave the word from the spirit. His name means locust. Instead of following after the name his family gave him and be a destroyer, he obeys God and as a sustainer.

  4. This chapter brought a smile to my face as I read about Barnabas in verses 22-24 MSG “When the church in Jerusalem got wind of this, they sent Barnabas to Antioch to check on things. As soon as he arrived, he saw that God was behind and in it all. He threw himself in with them, got behind them, urging them to stay with it the rest of their lives. He was a good man that way, enthusiastic and confident in the Holy Spirit’s ways. The community grew large and strong in the Master.”

Same verses AMP “The rumors of this came to the ears of the church (assembly) in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw what grace (favor) God was bestowing upon them, he was full of joy; and he continuously exhorted (warned, urged, and encouraged) them all to cleave unto and remain faithful to and devoted to the Lord with [resolute and steady] purpose of heart. For he was a good man [[e]good in himself and also at once for the good and the advantage of other people], full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit and full of faith (of his [f]belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through Whom we obtain eternal salvation). And a large company was added to the Lord.” We should be like Barnabas, as Bro. Tallant said above…..join in, throw yourself into and get behind what is going on at POFW.

  5. You did what??

    V 1-18

The imperfect state of human nature strongly appears, when godly persons are displeased even to hear that the word of God has been received, because their own system has not been attended to. -Matthew Henry

After explanation by Peter, they rejoice about the Gentiles being able to be saved.

Peter explains the incident and likens it unto his own personal experience. Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a normative doctrine (what is normal) for the presents day church. Everytime we see someone get the Holy Ghost we can look at it like peter. The same thing that happen to me happened to them.

When we get upset because God saves someone we don’t think deserves it (murderes, child molesters) we are discrediting the cross.

This is why we aren’t traditional. We are going to accept everyone that wants truth. The harvest is here. Are we being sensitive like Peter?? We are about to be teaching people from situations that will make people day, “why were you there?”

  6. 29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

There’s a song called,” your my brother, your my sister. So take me by the hand. Together we will work until he comes. There’s no foe that can defeat us. When were walking side by side. As long as there is love we will stand.” Unity. Why is it so hard to trust someone? In our culture, we find it hard to trust, due to so many people are corrupt. It used to be a man was bound by his word. A word and a hand shake was honorable. Yet today people will do this and cross tgeir fingers behind the back. Maybe to change the world we must help one another. Not too many people do this anymore. This is how we can start to trust again. By asking for help when we are down. By asking for prayer. This is the seed of unity. It must start with u. Then the n is the bridge to i. Then we look at the t as the cross. For in that moment the y will be answered. U-n-i-t-y.

  7. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

I can imagine him saying, “God gave them the Holy Ghost; what was I supposed to do, stop Him?” I pray that I am never a hinderance to anyone receiving the Holy Ghost.

  8. Be careful of a questioning spirit. Questions are part of human life. Who are we? Why are we here? What is my purpose in life? All relevant questions; however, questions also have a destructive power. Consider Luke 20:21-22 “And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?” This was not in inquiry as to what they should do, they were trying to get Jesus to incriminate himself.

Here the brethren are asking the purpose Peter ate with the Gentiles. The Message version reads: “When Peter got back to Jerusalem, some of his old associates, concerned about circumcision, called him on the carpet: “What do you think you’re doing rubbing shoulders with that crowd, eating what is prohibited and ruining our good name?”

I love what Peter did. I use the same strategy as often as I can. He asked a question right back. 17: “So I started in, talking. Before I’d spoken half a dozen sentences, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as he did on us the first time. I remembered Jesus’ words: ‘John baptized with water; you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ So I ask you: If God gave the same exact gift to them as to us when we believed in the Master Jesus Christ, how could I object to God?”

  9. 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Praise God!!!!! For making His true available to us the Gentiles. For He loved us so much. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Now, the gift is for us and for all our generations to come. This makes me want to shout HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!

  10. BUILD THE KINGDOM OF GOD NOT YOUR CHURCH

23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

We read consistently of the qualifications of the individuals that GOD will use in for the cause of reaching the lost and compelling them to come into the Kingdom of GOD. Some of the attributes that are consistently evident are:

    1. Full of the Holy Ghost
    2. Confidence in the WORD of GOD
    3. Boldness to speak the WORD of GOD
    4. A genuine concern for the lost souls of the world
    5. A willing heart to go where they are led by HIS Spirit
    6. An obedient life to OBEY the voice of the LORD
    7. A good report among people
    8. FAITH in GOD
    9. Revelation and Understanding of the WORD of GOD
    10. New Birth experience of the lost

World Changers – it all started by sharing “IT” ( the Word of God)

You can never take others anywhere you haven’t been. You need a prayer life and study life. Our lives should point to Calvary. Lead yourself to the cross.

There are 3 principals that will help us attain:
“High Potency”- I must give my all.
“Close Proximity”- Are you part of the problems or part of the solution?
    “Clearly Communicating”

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 KJV)

  12. iLove to eat the Word

The disciples heard the prophesied Word of God and acted upon it. They gave according to their ability and sent the collections to who needed them the most. One thing to note here is that there was going to be great famine that the Lord warned about (Just like in the days of Joseph). The Lord could have prevented the “dearth” but notice that the Lord only warned about the dearth.

Remember, God set the world into motion and gave it to Adam. Adam in return gave it over to the enemy. Now there are just certain things that happen in the world that are not God’s fault. Famines, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, and even something as simple as a car wreck are not God’s fault, but are the results of man’s willingness to submit to the fallen nature.

Let’s pray God will give insight into the things that will soon come upon this earth that we might escape and be able to continue to preach the Word of God.

  13. 13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

Who are we to judge? There are hungry people all over the region of Fort Worth, we must live in the spirit, walk in the spirit, talk in the spirit, be in the spirit so we are spiritually keen and aware of those we meet daily. God had already sent a sign to Cornelius that when Peter arrived he would have the answer for them. The Holy Ghost fell on them.

God is equipping us POFW to reach our region. He has placed various tools in our hands that no matter who or where we will have the tool they need, but it’s up to us to get out of our comfort zone and go…..reach….teach….. and win. Peter did not know what awaited him. He had to step out of his comfort zone, but he was obedient and his obedient brought him the greatest joy because lives were converted, changed and filled with the spirit of God.

  14. Acts 11:18 Although there was joy in heaven over the conversion of Cornelius, there was little joy in Jerusalem, for Peter had fellowshipped with uncircumcised….Gentiles. Peter defends his action by reciting all of the phenomenal things God has done in bringing this about. Peter did not go by choice.

Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry good: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.

  15. 19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

Sometimes it’s in the midst of our tribulation that God uses us the most. It was through persecution that the word of God spread abroad. We either continue pressing forward in our time of trouble and grow while being used by God or we take a seat from fear.

  16. 23 When he arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord.
24 Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in faith. And many people were brought to the Lord. (NLT)

We must have a positive attitude when we share God’s Word and always remember to keep at heart a passion and a true burden to do God’s works and give Him all glory.

  17. 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

The gifts that God gives us such as the Holy Ghost are for everyone. No one is excluded. So we shouldn’t say “it just wasn’t for them” because God loves everyone of us the same so since the love is the same so should the gifts. We may get them at different times but we all get a chance to receive it.

  18. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

    Being in tune…
We see here how the early “church people” began to question Peter for having gone to the outsiders. The greatest thing to note is that he was in tube with the Spirit of God that he was able to do the will of God despite what others may think. He obeyed. Sometimes God may seen to ask something totally out of the norm. He may say go on to that corner house. We may question; but that looks like the crack house!? There is one thing that helped kill the doubt of what The Lord was doing that he did not understand. He then I remembered the word of the Lord. Sometimes we may question how can we be in tune like this? The Word, the word will guide and confirm. The Word will remind you and show you all things

    John 16:13
    King James Version (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

To be in tune we must turn to the right channel, the Word of God, God Himself

    John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

I believe God wants to use us to open our heart and see what he sees; a hungry world for Him..where everyone needs of Jesus, salvation. In order to explain to the people and the ones already in church we must be in tube with God’s words…because like verse 17 says, what are we that we can withstand God.

  19. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Notices that rhis scipture says that for a year they assembled themselves with the church. Rhis indicates that it took time and dedication. Then it says they “taught much people.” This indicates they worked and labored.

How can we call ourselves Christians when we are not upholding the attributes and characteristics of Christ and the Church?

We must walk, talk, and act like Christ but we must also work while we still have a chance. New believers must not be expected to teach themselves and learn the hard way but we must love them enough to take them in and tell them, show them, and allow them to do it and ask for help when needed.

  20. Vs.15, “And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.”
Vs.16, “Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water: but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.”
Vs.17, “Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?”
Vs.18, “When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.”

Romans 3:6 says, “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.”

I’m so thankful that God is no respector of persons.
I’m so thankful that Peter, even though he didn’t quite understand the vision he had, LISTENED to and OBEYED the voice of God and WENT to the gentile people to preach salvation to them. Because he did, it opened a door for all gentiles everywhere to be saved.

The question is “Are we willing to do the same? Are we willing to LISTEN, OBEY, and Go where God tells us to, even if it seems a little strange to us?”
    Let’s LISTEN!
    Let’s OBEY!
    Let’s GO!
    Let’s IMPACT OUR FUTURE TOGETHER!

    One last thing.
Rom. 15:9, “And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.”
Rom. 15:10, “And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.”
Rom. 15:11, “And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.”
Rom. 15:13, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

  21. Peter defends God’s Grace 1. And the apostles and brethren that were in Ju-dae’-a heard that the Gen’-tiles had also received the word of God. 2. And when Pe’-ter was come up to Je-ru’-sa-lem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him, 3. Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them. 4. But Pe’-ter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying, 5. I was in the city of Jop’-pa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: 6. Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 7. And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Pe’-ter; slay and eat. 8. But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. 9. But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 10. And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

  22. 1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

3 Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

The men most capable to accompany Peter to the Gentiles & possibly the closest men to Peter, were in contention with him. He had to stop everything and remind this core group what their mission was…Go teach…and yes, teach the Gentile. He had to start at the beginning and remind them how God had carefully orchestrated this meeting with Cornelious’ servants in his vison and by the angel. He had to convince his own team that someone was worthy to receive Jesus just as they had received him.
Many of us are members of the core Teams at the POFW- for ex: Ministry Training Team, Children’s, Hospitality, Music, Outreach–shouldn’t we be the teams of our church that are the most willing and ready to reach for the lost? We know our mission, rather Jesus’ mission, is to seek the lost. However, if we are contentious with our leadership and cannot understand why we plan & execute events to reach the lost, then we too are in need of being reminded that the souls all around us are worthy to be saved and that they need us to reach out to them. Children are worthy of our outreach efforts as much as an adult.

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

I will expound on winning children to the Lord: they are so innocent, they just tell it like it is to others…adults worry about what people will think of them when they witness. Children believe what you tell them in the Bible…adults want to debate the word and even debate if God’s word is real. I can go on, but, children are the church of today as well as our future. Let’s be in unity as we reach for the children in our Block Party and Children’s Crusade. They are worth it!

    13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

Thanks be to God that salvation is free to all who love and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  24. “What was I, that I could withstand God”. The decision to pour out the Holy Ghost (Jesus) was God’s (Jesus). One must never become full of self or a hindrance to the Lord’s (Jesus) plan, though one should purpose to do all (anything) too support it. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  25. What God has cleansed, it is no longer common. We cannot judge a person by their past. When God has put a calling on your life and you accept, your life will never be the same.

  26. Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost. Who do we think we are picking and choosing who we bring to church! This Holy Ghost is for everyone no matter what race or status! Come as you are. Thank you Jesus

  27. When they heard this, they ceased their objections and praised God, saying, “So then, God has granted the repentance that leads to life even to the Gentiles.” -Acts 11:18

Thank God for granting the repentance to the Gentiles!

  28. God spoke to Peter, He did’t want to do what he had asked him to do. The Lord knows what he is asking Peter to do . His disobedience could of been costly but he decided to do as he was told by the Lord.

Sometimes we could be missing out on our blessing from God because we disobey him.

Lord help me and strenghen me in every area that I may be lacking so I can do your holy will.

  29. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

This verse inspires me to be better.

I have been called a lot of things in my life. Some of it good, some of it bad. What I want to be called most of is a “Christian!

  30. Christians?

25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

You cannot be a Christian in its original meaning without the apostles doctrine. The thing they had in common was the teaching of the apostles which clothed them together in the knowledge if Christ and his deity which made them Christians. Without the correct doctrine you are not Christian.

  31. Why do we fight with God?
In this passage the angel said three times don’t say this is wrong, I said it was right. Why in our lives when God tells us one thing do we say no, it’s wrong. We frequently tell God that he was wrong in his decision or argue with him about the way it should happen because we don’t see through his eyes with his wisdom. Our frustrations, worries, and intimidation put us in a place where we don’t fully trust God. Stop arguing. Trust more. He is God and he knows better than us.

  32. How would you like to be remembered as in this next verse, Amen & Amen. “Good Man”……..

24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

    “Be Good”………………add to the Kingdom!

  33. 24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

We are not subject to choose who
May or May not be brought to the church or forgiven by God butttt ladies we do have a choice on who we marry. It states the good man (not a boy) was FULL of the Holy Ghost and of faith. If you’re shopping in the department of “I’m too cool for Jesus” you need to slap yourself and realize nothing related to that will do you any good. A man must love God with all his heart before he can love a woman. Just as a woman needs to love Jesus whole heartedly.

  34. Multiply

Reading of the great harvest in these places distant from the “homebase” of the church at Jerusalem got me thinking about the logistics of it all. The church was only beginning so there in many cases likely wasnt some local UPCI church to send them to, nor could they even get connected via streaming online church services if reaching an assembly in person was not feasible. Instead, we see the church would gather reports of the harvest and send trusted ministers to go teach and preach and minister to both the lost and the growing church assemblies.

As the people who heard the preached Word responded and found salvation, they needed leadership. Yes, the Jews knew of the Word and already had “church” structures in places, but these were new spiritual matters. Who would lead them? Even the leaders that were converted were still new babes themselves. But the church came into action to help lead and train as those new assemblies grew in strength and stability.

As the Kingdom expands, we must be ready to step up to new levels while God stretches His church to include the new babes. There’s more work to be done, and part of that includes the multiplication of leadership. We must uphold our leaders, grow ourselves, support one another, and cultivate those following so they can grow right along too, all in unity, in love and the bond of peace.

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

    Isaiah 54:1-3
1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.

    2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

  35. HALELUJAH!!!
23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

IT TOOK ONE MAN FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST AND OF FAITH TO TELL THEM THE WHOLE TRUTH!!! BECAUSE HE WAS OBEDIENT MUCH PEOPLE WERE ADDED!!!
THANK YOU JESUS!!! HALELUJAH!!! THERE IS NO ONE LIKE YOU, JESUS!!!
I PRAISE AND MAGNIFY YOU JESUS!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  36. Cornerstone of the Church

Teaching has always been a cornerstone in the church. God has given his truth and revealed himself in the Scriptures. From the earliest day, God’s people were called to communicate this truth to others through intentional and systematic teaching (Dt 6:6-7). By the first century, things have not changed. For an entire year Barnabas and Saul (Paul) gather with the believers in the city of Antioch and instruct them in the truth of God’s Word. It should not surprise us that Antioch is the city where the disciples of Jesus are first called Christians. The tern itself means “belonging to Christ” or “Christ-like”. As Barnabas and Paul teach the Word faithfully, the disciples’ devotion to Christ grows deeper and deeper. Everyone can see that these are people belonging to Jesus Christ- the name “Christian” is most fitting.
