Psalm 7

1 O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

3 O Lord my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;

4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

6 Arise, O Lord, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

7 So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.

8 The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.

14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

17 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

  1. How would you like it, if the Lord dug a pit for those who dug one for you.

    “Be blessed”……………..

  2. The battle belongs to the Lord

14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

Trouble and mischief is planned out. It has to be thought out thoroughly and then give birth to the sin. Negativity is evil, so don’t dwell upon it for it will only finish in chaos and sin. When it comes to enemies I like Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
I am a true believer in loving my enemies, serving them humbly, and watch them change little by little. Speak kind, be kind, and act kind. Remember Proverbs 18:20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

  3. O lord my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice, (Psalms 7:3 NLT)

What an honest prayer. What did I do? What did I say? Did I cause this to happen? What attitude is truly in my heart? What are my true motives?
David had to search his own heart in order to see if he was at fault.
The same with us. We need to search our own heart to see if we are the cause of any situation that we are facing today, and if so, thank God for His grace that allows us to repent, and to change.
But I, the lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” (Jeremiah 17:10 NLT)

I the Lord search the mind, I try the heart, even to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10 AMP)

“The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.” (Jeremiah 17:9, 10 MSG)

Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out (Psalm 26:2 MSG)

  4. 17.I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness ; and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

  5. 8. The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

I pray that I live my life in such a way that I could at any time say, “Judge me, Lord, I’m ready for the test; based on my righteousness and integrity, how will I spend eternity?” We never know when that moment will come, ready or not…

  6. 9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Try the heart and the reins, God knows where we are weak. The heart in the word of God usually is talking about the mind, so God is trying our mind. Where we keep our mind makes all the difference about who we are.
The reins is used to control the horse, who holds our reins? Does God have control of our reins where we can allow him to tell us where to go and where not to go.
The mind and the reins used together tells me God wants us to allow him to be in control of our lives. If we will not let God control us, we are considered to be as the wicked and God will judge us everyday.

  7. 11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Correction. We all need it. Just as our parents corrected us, so does our Heavenly Father. We’ve all heard that God is faithful and just to forgive us. This is ture, yet as a parent would there are still consequences that will be given. Thank God that he does that. To help us not to do those things anymore.

  8. THE PROPER ATTITUDE OF PRAISE

17 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

The act or art of giving praise to our LORD JESUS is not reserved to a designated praise service in the church. While this appointed time of PRAISE is very important to the corporate body of Christ, it is not reserved only for this season. Our purest praise to JESUS is not praise that is promoted or induced by someone encouraging us to Praise, but comes from a sincere heart of thanksgiving for who JESUS is.

The psalmist decreed to praise the LORD according to his righteousness.

Psalms 145:17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

The LORD is righteous in all HIS ways! This means that regardless of what is happening, it is TIME to praise the LORD and sing praise to the name of the LORD. As we clearly see how good and right GOD is we are challenged and compelled to praise HIM from a pure heart of appreciation for who he IS, not for what he does.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  9. 10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

God defends his people. We need to give God the reigns in our lives! He fights for us, protects us, defends us and so much more.

    Romans 12:19
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

  10. Psalm 10: My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

See 125:4 Safety in the Lord
Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

  11. 11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

We make a choice: serve or be served. Sacrifice or sacrifice others. Worship God or self.

Though the wicked are influenced by the enemy the true culprit is flesh. When flesh is subjected to God, when we mortify the deeds of the body, then we allow God to reign.

By surrendering self, and then surrendering to worship the enemy doesn’t stand a chance. Jesus is ready today to reward or punish.

  12. 17 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

  13. 4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

We should be at peace with eachother, wether there is a reason or not why we should have strife with someone we should always keep the peace and the love of Christ. I’m sure we don’t have to look hard to find something we don’t like about eachother but if ee could just keep the unity and not allow strife to come between us things would be so much better. What we put out is exactly what we are going to get back so be careful

  14. 1 O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

    3 O Lord my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;

  15. 1 I come to you for protection, O Lord my God. Save me from my persecutors—rescue me! (NLT)

Go to The Lord always; he is our protection and salvation.

  16. Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded! (Psalms 7:6 NKJV

-Jesus correct me by force if you have!!

10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

Jesus has my back. And I know with him I can do anything!!!!! Anything. I will over come the enemy and defeat evil

  17. 10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

Psalm 3:3 But you, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.

Psalm 89:18 For the LORD is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

Thank you Jesus for being my shield and my King. When my heart is right with Him there is no need to worry but praise Him in the middle of the storms of life. “Sorry looks back, worry looks around, and FAITH looks up.” He is our help and the lifter up of our head because FAITH takes over.

    THANK YOU JESUS!! HALLELUJAH!

  18. 1 O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me
:2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
    3 O Lord my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah

Before we accuse someone we must search ourselves. Even ask the Lord to do the examining because he can peel back our reasoning and show us that we is an unrighteous motive. Then if he does show us that we are guilty, be quick to repent and lean on his mercy & grace.

  19. 11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

If you want to stay on God’s good side, then abstain from anything that is evil. Only the wicked do evil and God’s word says he’s angry with them everyday. I don’t want God angry with me, so I choose to live right.

  20. Vs.1, “O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:”

TRUST means a firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, reliability, justice, etc. of another person or thing; faith, reliance.

My TRUST is in the Lord. I know that he will save me and deliver me. How do I know this? He’s already done it so many times in my life.

Thank You JESUS that you are so Trustworthy. Your Word says in Heb.13:5, “… I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

  21. 10-16
He saves the upright in heart and he expresses his wrath against evil doers. The psalm pitures a relentless pursuit of evil which even this world ends for the wicked in disillusionment as the troubles and violence a man relies on recoils on him.

  22. Our Hero

1 O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

We should not underestimate how much the enemy actively hates us and wishes to destroy us, but at the same time we also should not underestimate how much God loves us and is our salvation. We can’t forget we are in the midst of spiritual warfare. But though the enemy likes to use intimidation and ambush to try to take us down and get us feeling backed into a corner, our Jesus is never taken off guard and is never “off duty” asleep.

    Acts 17:23
For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

We find in media a favor towards superheros, that the world has a hunger for something to believe in that will be “on our side” defending us in ways beyond our power. But we know that this “Unknown God” is actually the only living God, Jesus. We must know where our help comes from and know Jesus is faithful in ways that even our human minds can’t comprehend. We could never fashion a superhero that could compare to Jesus. But though we can’t fit Him in the box of our understanding, we can take Him at His Word and trust in Him to be our true Hero to save us completely.

    Psalm 121:1-8
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

  23. The Prayer of a wronged man O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me,and deliver me: 2. Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver. Ps. 50:22 3. O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands; 4. If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:) 5. Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Se’-lah.

  24. 15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

You will reap what you sow. Sow good get good, sow bad get bad. We can learn alot from this passage.

  25. iLove to eat the Word

    What comes around goes around
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

This verse is telling me that if I choose to sow evil than that same evil will come back in one way or another… Lets forsake the evil and pursue and sow righteousness! Than good will come our way.

  26. “If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me”. In the midst of his predicament David was open to searching of self. One may not realize one’s own error, as such one must ask God (Jesus) to do the searching; “Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him”. Please search me Lord, and forgive me of any faults. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  27. Psalm 7

1 O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

Trust in the Lord, and he will deliver thee out of all of your trouble.

  28. 10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

God will gladly be our defense however we know that there is always a heart issue..we must keep our hearts right with God.

  29. Watch what you say, watch what you do?

15 He has dug a pit and hollowed it out,
And has fallen into the hole which he made.
16 His mischief will return upon his own head,
And his violence will descend upon his own pate.
    (Psalms 7:15-16 NASBStr)

How we treat each other is directly correlated with our love for Jesus Christ. If we speak bad about each other, do we really love God?

11 But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
    (1 John 2:11 NASBStr)

The Greek word for hates is miséō, the Complete Word Study Dictionary puts it as this: “With the acc. of person, usually implying active ill will in words and conduct, a persecuting spirit (Matt. 5:43 where it stands as opposite to agapáō [G0025], to love”

If you have ill will toward someone, you walk in darkness. Ill will is defined as animosity (strong hostility toward) or bitterness (resentment). Darkness is the partial or total absence of light.

    5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
    (1 John 1:5-6 NASBStr)

This will send people to hell. We must walk in the light to be cleansed from sin.

7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
    (1 John 1:7 NASBStr)

What we live by is what we die by….Matt 26,
10 “All the sinners of My people will die by the sword,
Those who say, ‘ The calamity will not overtake or confront us. ’
    (Amos 9:10 NASBStr)

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
    (Proverbs 18:20-21 NASBStr)

What we say is indicative of what lies within our hearts.

34 You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
    (Matthew 12:34 ESV)

Vipers will be shaken off into the fire.

3 But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand.
    (Acts 28:3 NASBStr)
5 However he shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm.
    (Acts 28:5 NASBStr)

    Be careful what you say.

  30. 4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

We must check our “Jesus” to be sure that we have rewarded those that are of the household of faith, and living for the Lord, evil instead of peace. God has called all of us to be peacemakers. If we have the Spirit of God reigning in our lives, we will live with the attitude of being peacemakers. Blessed are the peacemakers, theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
