Psalm 9

1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

4 For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.

5 Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

6 O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

7 But the Lord shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

13 Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

14 That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

16 The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

19 Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

20 Put them in fear, O Lord: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

  1. 1. I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

He is worthy of more than a half-hearted praise!

1-2. I’m thanking you, God, from a full heart, I’m writing the book on your wonders. I’m whistling, laughing, and jumping for joy; I’m singing your song, High God. MSG

  2. 11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

I will sing into The Lord. For he is worthy to be praised. He is worthy of All Glory and Honour. We take this saying so lightly. All means withholding nothing back. We try to keep back some for ourselves ,so we truly do not give him all Glory and Honour. When we sing to The Lord we are doing what we were created to do. Worship God. Therefore I will sing unto The Lord for he is worthy to be praised.

15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

16 The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

This scripture reminds me of the scripture we read about in the book of Acts. They vowed a vow that they wouldn’t eat until Paul was killed. they must have gotten real hungry because Paul escaped death for several years after thier vow.

  4. 10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Those that truly “know” the Lord and the Lord “knows” will have confidence in no matter what situation they find themselves in He will come through for them. All things work together to for the good to those that love Him and are called according to His purpose in glory. We can trust Him, He will never leave us forsake us. He may not answer when we desire, but He will answer.

  5. Psalm 9:1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

Marvellous describe the supernatural. David thus looks on God’s deliverance and praises Him for it(vv.1-10).

  6. THE PICTURE OF HOPE

The believer that possesses FAITH and is willing to PRAISE the LORD will always have and be A PICTURE OF HOPE.

Rufuge or protection in time of trouble, protection from oppression or pressures of life. TRUST in the everlasting hand of GOD, who has never failed.

    iBelieve
    iRepent
    iHope
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork

  7. Go Tell!!!!

11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

Go tell everyone how Good the Lord is!!! Tell them EVERYTHING He has done. Tell them the Good News, TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!!! Tell them about all the signs, miracles, and wonders. Tell them to come and rejoice with you, invite them to church so they can Praise Him for He is GOOD!!!!

  8. Just Something About His Name, JESUS

9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Jesus means literally “Jehovah is salvation.” His name reveals His identity, and as we come to know who He is, we find refuge in His name; He is our Savior to the uttermost, not simply to help us just miss hell but to heal us, deliver us, restore us, bring about whatever redemptive work is needed for us to be whole in Him. This side of heaven, life will never be the perfection we look forward to when it comes to eternity with Jesus, but that doesn’t mean we can’t taste and experience that abundant life of being perfected in Him. As we walk as Christians, born into Him, born into His name, we find just how He truly is Salvation and that name becomes increasingly our refuge.

    Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

  9. 5 Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

  10. 8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

The Lord will judge the world and he will also will be a refuge for the oppressed. The same God that will judge you will also make a way to esape.
We must seek him if we want to fins refuge in times of trouble. Many people whine in their own troubles instead of seeking God. He is a present help in time of trouble, we need seek him.

    WISE MEN SEEK JESUS!!

  11. “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God”. David exhibited thankfulness, as he was well aware of what would be without God (Jesus). One would be very wise to recognize the season that one is living in, and heed the word of the Lord (Jesus), and man of God. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  12. Praise

    1 I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
    (Psalms 9:1 NASBStr)

Thanks with a whole heart is always commanded along with sharing the goodness of God and his works with others.

    John 4:24

  13. Psalm 9:2 I will be filled with joy because of you.I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

What gives you joy? What makes your heart happy? One of the definitions of joy is to experience great pleasure or delight. The Word says that the joy of The Lord is our strength. Sometimes one may find out the hard way some by accident others by choice that when things start to weigh them down, they just can’t seem to get that drive and desire of live and feel weaken us because they may have substituted their source of joy. In whom or what do you delight in? Who or what gives you great pleasure? We should be careful of giving that place made especially for God. For it is in Him that we have life and have it more abundantly through Christ Jesus.
If one may feel like joy is gone could be perhaps because one may have left Him…

Job 8:21 He will once again fill your mouth with laughterand your lips with shouts of joy.

  14. 9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

This verse tells me I’ve got to know where to go to when I need help. He is a very present help in the time of need.

Thank you Lord for being a refuge, a place of safety against the enemy.

  15. 9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

I am thankful that JESUS is my refuge. He comforts me. He sticks closer than a brother. He will never leave me or forsake me. Thank you JESUS that you are my refuge, place of safety.

  16. 11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. We serve a mighty God oftentimes we are so quickly to speak about the bas things that is going on in our life’s. We need to flip the script and hold our head up high and brag on our God to friends ,family and associates!

  17. Psalm 9:2 I will be filled with joy because of you.I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

Job 8:21 He will once again fill your mouth with laughterand your lips with shouts of joy.

Philippians 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

  18. 9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

  19. 1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Just in that one song “I’ll praise you in the storm” in my hard times and in the easy times I will praise you and lift you up no matter what. God you are my all and I love and I am so glad that I have you in my life, cause I really don’t know what would have happened in my life if you weren’t their to help me.

  20. Praise for God’s Judgement 1. I Will Praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works. 2. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. Ps.5:11 3. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. 4. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
