Psalm 10

1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

  1. 17. Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou will prepare their heart , thou wilt cause thine ear to here;

  2. 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

The LORD is King, my desire is that The Lord is the King of my life. The desire and attitude of the way of the heathen be gone out of my life. If we have ever needed The Lord, we need him today.
The way to God is to humble ouselves and repent with our heart, our approach to God is very important, we want God to hear us when we appeal to him, but our attitude must be right for God to hear.
Never let us hold down or oppress, those that are not ready to meet God. I pray we hold on to God and his principles with an humble attitude.

  3. vs 11-13 God sees everything. Just because his judgment for sin may be slow (He is slow to anger) we sometimes think he doesn’t care or will not judge us for wrong doing, but the day of judgment is coming and we must repent of our sins and give our lives totally to him.

  4. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

  5. 16-18 NLT
The Lord is king forever and ever! The godless nations will vanish from the land. Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.

When you think it’s all hopeless and there is no help or justice, just remember that our Lord is King forever and He is a just and righteous King and He has not given us a spirit of fear but has sent us The Comforter.

    John 14:26-27 KJV
    26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

  6. 12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

God does not forget the Humble. I pray I stay humble in everything I do. When im susseceding dont let me get a big head. I will humble myself. Be light that shines for Jesus

  7. He Reigns

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

It does not matter who is the president, nor governor; for in my life and in my house, Jesus Christ reigns. He is the Head of the government, the economy, and as long as I stay under Him NOTHING of this world will harm me.

  8. An attitude of humility.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

There are many attitudes in this world and many are not right. But if we will humble ourselves to the One true God. He will provide for you. As I was telling a friend just last night. It’s all about your attitude. Your ego. Edging God Out. Or you could have a right ego by Exalting God Onhigh. It’s your choice.

  9. 2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

I want to seek after God always, I know that sometimes I do wrong but if just yo stop seeking God makes me wicked and prideful I want to humble myself to God every day! I know that I need him there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t need him

  10. iLove to eat the Word

2The wicked arrogantly hunt down the poor.
Let them be caught in the evil they plan for others.
    3For they brag about their evil desires;
they praise the greedy and curse the lord.
4The wicked are too proud to seek God.
They seem to think that God is dead.

Gods not dead, hes still alive. Pride is an horrible thing. Makes a person totally unaware of what’s going on around them. Complete darkness on the truth. Usually the way a person overcomes pride is by being humbled by situations of life. If we would learn to humble ourselves, then we wouldn’t have to be humbled by the hand of the Almighty.

  11. What a scary place to be when you’re so proud that not only do you have others deceived but you have deceived yourself and have numbed yourself from the Spirit of God. We must humble ourselves and be sensitive to His Spirit and always be ready to do His will.

  12. Sometimes it is hard to understand when trouble comes God is still on our side. If we are not tested we may fall short of reaching our goal in the last days. Consider raising and teaching children. Do we ask our children to pick up their toys, take out the trash, wash dishes, etc… for punishment? Sometimes but that is not the ultimate goal. The end goal is to develop people who are able to sustain themselves when they are on their own living their own lives.

1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

So, don’t think of the Lord abandoning us in times of trouble. Rather, testing us to determine if we have matured. We as parents generally do not ask your children to perform tasks they are not prepared for. We do not ask 4 year-olds to drive to the grocery store. So, if the Lord is asking us to endure a particular season He has faith that we have matured enough to succeed.

  13. THE COURSE TO THE KING

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

The to successful living is to first establish who or what is LORD or KING of our life. For every believer it should be the first and utmost desire to make JESUS, KING and LORD of our life. The eternal WORD of GOD declares HIM as King of Kings and LORD of LORDS.

1Timothy 6:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
    15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Once JESUS is established as KING we must then create and prepare a course or path to HIM. We read here in Psalm 10:17 that the LORD hears the desire of the humble.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

HUMILITY is THE COURSE TO THE KING.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  14. 1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Many times when we are in the heat of the battle, we feel just like David in this chapter? Where oh where are you Lord? Why haven’t you avenged us of this situation?

But God uses our situations to purify us, sharpen us and make us into His image, and sometimes to teach us patience and trust. Just because we can’t see our way out at the present time doesn’t mean God is not working. He doesn’t always let us see what He is doing behind the scenes.

His promise that He will never leave or forsake me, keeps me going from day to day when in the storm because I have the assurance that that which He has promised will come to pass, if I will hold on, be strong, and stay in the race.

  15. 14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

God sees everything. Whether we (as people) devise mischief secretly in our hearts or act it out thinking no one sees or there will be no consequence. God sees all! And sin in the end will not prevail.

  16. The Man Of The Earth

    James 3:14-18
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

There’s quite a contrast betwen “the man of the earth” and “the man of the Kingdom.” The carnal earthly man gets a temporary high off his flesh-exalting and -pleasing ways, but the Kingdom citizen finds a much sweeter, lasting fruit of righteousness from a God-honoring life. We will all be tempted every day to walk in the shoes of the man of the earth (today’s chapter describes him bluntly but his ways are sometimes more subtle in our lives and harder to detect) but we are called to operate in Heavenly wisdom and fear God, not the flesh or the devil to be a servant of sin. Carnality can be sneaky but it’s always worth it to reject the sin-honoring ways of the man of the earth.

    Romans 8:5-8
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

  17. Psalms 10:2 (NASBStr)
    In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted;
Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

    Backfire

God is able to use the very thing the enemy is devising against you for your favor. Pray that the plans and actions of your adversaries will fall back on to their heads.

    Esther 7:10.

  18. 2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

They say that actions speak louder than words. If we say we live one way, but in actuality we live another then we find ourselves contrary.

    Matthew 21:28-31
“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘ Son, go work today in the vineyard. ’ And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went. The man came to the second and said the same thing; and he answered, ‘I will, sir’; but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They *said, “The first.” Jesus *said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you

Sometimes we see groups in the Bible and feel as though they are removed from us, and we don’t have to worry about that. Yet wicked, unrighteous, and unbelieving are all positions that people of God can fall into if we are not careful.

Our actions reveal who we are.

It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.
    Eccl 5:5

its not how we start the race, but how we finish.

  19. YES LORD,
17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
LORD LET THE DESIRES OF MY HEART BE CONFORMED UNTO THINE DESIRES, PREPARE MINE HEART, ALTHOUGH I AM UNWORTHY, YOU HEAR ME AND FOR THIS I THANK YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! I PRAISE YOU AND I MAGNIFY YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU !!! I LOVE YOU JESUS FOR YOU ARE MY FIRST LOVE!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  20. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them. (Psalms 10:18 NLT)

God is the every step of the way ❤❤

  21. You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry. Psalm 10:17

God listens! He doesn’t interrupt when you pour out your heart to Him. He doesn’t pay attention halfheartedly because He has other things on His mind. In fact, He has all the time of eternity to listen to you.
And He will encourage you! As you pour out your heart to Him, He will say to you, as He did to His dsciples when He was here on earth, ” ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid’ ” (Matthew 14:27)

  22. In this scripture, shows you the benefits of being a humble child of God, and how God will move his hand for his children. When God judges, awesome no more oppression! “Delivered”………………………………………………..

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

“We Win, in Jesus name, Amen.”…………………………………………………………..

  23. 5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

    UP, UP and AWAY!!!

The bald eagle can soar at the height of 10,000 feet. At amlost 2 miles, it might be almost the size of the tip of a pin, to the naked eye. A Whooper Swan, can fly at the height of 29,000 feet. At this altitude, they are only seen on radar, and by passing planes.

God’s judgements are HIGHER than this even, when it comes to the wicked seeing them. These are the judgements that we, the church, are called to upkeep. Here’s the beauty of it though, He loves us, and is willing to forgive us when we are unable to keep them, because He knows we won’t, but He wants us to do our best still.

The Word tells us that we will face judgement one day, and on that day, we will have to give an account, and that we will be judged by the book of books, His Word. With this in mind, we have the oppertunity of being forgiven and having our sins washed, by repenting and being baptized in Jesus’ name for the remission of our sins. Then when we do the rest of what Peter stood up and told the people in the streets on the day of Pentacost, recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in other tongues, we have His councle with us continually, helping us to be set apart, and to see these high judgements that we never saw before.

As others around us see the change in us they too will begin to follow, because the Word promises that As He be lifted up, He will draw all men unto Him. We have to strive to keep these judgements, as that will lift Him up. We must reach the lost…

The cool thing about the birds that can fly so high up that they cannot be seen by the human eye, they can still see the ground, where there might be trouble, or santuary… We can see who Jesus is directing us to speak to, pray with, or stay away from…

  24. Why, Lord , do you stand far off? Why do you pay no attention during times of trouble? -Psalms 10:1NET

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. -Psalms 1:6

The scripture is very plain in its proclamation concering the ways of a man.

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. -Job 23:10

The wicked will always wonder why the Lord does not hear their cry.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. -Daniel 12:10

If they would but turn from their wicked ways he would hear their cry.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. -2 Chronicles 7:14

  25. Vs.4, “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”

Vs.17, “LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear.”

    Pride vs. Humility.
It’s PRIDE in man that keeps him from seeking or thinking about God.
If we HUMBLE ourselves before God, he will hear our desires, our prayers, and he will lift us up.

James 4:6 says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.”
James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
1 Peter 5:5b-6 says, “… for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”

  26. “Thou hast seen it”. Although it may appear some things go unnoticed, one can rest assured God (Jesus) sees all. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  27. For the wicked man boasts (sings the praises) of his own heart’s desire, and the one greedy for gain curses and spurns, yes, renounces and despises the Lord. The wicked one in the pride of his countenance will not seek, inquire for, and yearn for God; all his thoughts are that there is no God [so He never punishes]. His ways are grievous [or persist] at all times; Your judgments [Lord] are far above and on high out of his sight [so he never thinks about them]; as for all his foes, he sniffs and sneers at them. He thinks in his heart, I shall not be moved; for throughout all generations I shall not come to want or be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, oppression (fraud); under his tongue are trouble and sin (mischief and iniquity). (Psalm 10:3-7 AMP)

God will be the only ONE to be worshiped!
Riches, popularity, drugs, etc. will never bring life.
All those things will fade away.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (Psalms 14:1 KJV)

  28. 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

There will always be the wicked that do not regard God at all in their thoughts. They only think of themselves & what they want. But I am thankful for a God who knows all my needs & I don’t have to steal, I can pray. He watches over me and guards me . I am blessed by his hands. This world needs to know our Jesus. We each need his salvation, his mercy & grace.

  29. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

It is a humbling experience to ask for help. To realize, I don’t have it all, I can’t do it all. There is nothing wrong with having things and being blessed of God. It is when pride of man is allowed to inter into the heart and make one feel self-sufficient, I can do it all. Pride can be the strongest thing that can keep humanity from reviving the love of God and the gift if God, His own spirit. We see here in this same chapter how the psalmist pleades, “forget not the humble”. The ways of the prideful and the wicked do not last long. They are never truly happy. It is only a sugar high that leaves emptiness that’s why they constantly continue on their deceived wicked ways.. They may be looking for a way out but refuse to acknowledge the truth. David is a great example of humbleness…being king he knew that He really controlled nothing but depended fully on The Lord.

  30. 1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Sometimes when I’m going through storms, I find myself asking God where are you… But I know my God hasn’t left me, he still has His hand on every situation I’m going through! When no one else is there for me I know I can turn to God and feel His embrace of love and mercy that I couldn’t get from anywhere else! I’m so thankful I serve such an awesome, loving, tender God that will never leave my side…

  31. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

  32. 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

He is the king of kings no one else compaires to him not even close to a pinch of him. But God hears all of our prayers even when we think He doesn’t.

  33. God hears and acts 16. The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. Ps.29:10 Lam. 5:19 17. LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: 18. To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
