Psalm 21

1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

7 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

13 Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

  1. 1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

Rejoicing in my salvation, we should have joy everyday and rejoice in The Lord. Because God has done so much for us, keeping us everyday from our enemies. Many times that enemy is not the man down the street, but ourselves. We are usually our own worst enemy. We are in control of our destiny
    Whether we pray
    If we fast
    Do we visit our neighbors
    Seek to find the Lost
What gives us Joy? We need to do the things that brings Joy into our lives.
I pray God, Jesus give me Joy, help me rejoice in you!!
Thank you God for salvation !!!

  2. 7 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
    Amen!!!

  3. 13. Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

Without us He had the power to speak the universe into existence, but without Him we can do nothing. He gives us His power to do His will. When we try to do things with our own power, we fail every time.

  4. 8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

Sometimes all we have to do is wait. Allow The Lord to deal with your enemies. He will judge fairly. So many times I thought that I was right about a situation ,when in turn I was one of the problems. We must be carful not to point fingers. When we do there is one pointing at them ,but three pointing right back at you. My prayer is that The Lord would help me to see and allow him to do what he needs to do.

  5. The Message version reads: “13 Show your strength, God, so no one can miss it. We are out singing the good news!”

    Are singing the good news?

Go tell it on the mountain
    Over the hills and everywhere;
Go tell it on the mountain
    That Jesus Christ is Lord

  6. 1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

His JOY is my strength and I rejoice for He his SALVATION everyday!!!! He gave me life and He gave me His Name. Thank you Jesus!!!! For I am YOURS!!!!

  7. 3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

  8. ILove to eat the word

13 Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

It’s the strength and power of the Holy Ghost that has brought us deliverance and therefore let us praise the great King!

  9. For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform.

*the haters plan against God they want to hate just to hate. But their plan will never come though. God won’t let God will shut them down.

Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces. (Psalms 21:11, 12 NKJV

*Dang God gonna shoot them in the face…I ain’t getting on Gods bad side!!! 😛

  10. 2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

Oh thank you Jesus for your goodness! Thank you for hearing me and thank you for answering so many prayers! Thank you for life everlasting and for so many second chances, thank you for mercy! I love you Jesus and I praise you

  11. (NLT)
Vs.1, “How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory.”
Vs. 13, “Rise up, O Lord, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.”

This put a song in my heart this morning.
    Send up Judah,
    Send up Judah,
    Send up Judah,
    Send up Judah,
    For everything he has done,
For every victory he has won,
    Send up Praise.

  12. 2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
When we do what we are suppose to do and following God’s will God will give us desires of our hearts! Thank you Jesus for loving me

  13. 4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

We are so blessed to serve Jesus who is a loving and giving God. We just to ask forgiveness and He is willing to forgive. We just have to ask when we desire something Though the answer may be no.

    Matthew 21:22
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

    John 16:24
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

  14. Victory

    Psalm 21:1 NLT
How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory.

    Ephesians 1:12-14 NLT
God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

    Ephesians 1:14 KJV
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

We know life is full of troubles but that doesn’t mean that victory is only some elusive, end-of-the-road type of dream goal that isn’t attainable in our day-to-day living. God’s strength and victory is for our everyday life. The borders of heaven’s glory are not limited to the pearly gates but are to pour out into our lives and overflow. God’s Spirit within us is not just some meager portion like a Sam’s Club sample that only whets your appetite but never satisfies; being filled with His Spirit means we get all of Him, and we get access to His reality while living in this present world.

God is not glorified by us going through life less than victorious. We are made to be victorious through every circumstance and live in the continual joy of God’s strength and victory. No suffering now is great enough to overcome the reality of the victory we get access to as children of God. We may still have to bear the sufferings of this current world while we are still on our journey to our destination in heaven, but our citizenship now is heavenly and our reality greater than this world if we will live according to our identity in Christ.

    Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

    Luke 17:20-21
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

    Romans 8:18-19 NLT
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

  15. 1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

David recognizes that his joy and strength comes only from the Lord. Too many times we put ourselves in situations that we feel like that is where our joy and strength comes from. We put more energy into our jobs, our carnal life trying to achieve the satisfaction that can only come from the Lord. We must realize that these feelings can only be accomplished through Jesus Christ. Yes, He wants us to succeed in life, to have blessed lives, great jobs, great families, but He wants to be the center of it all, not the after thought. Through Him we can accomplish so much more if we will place Him on the throne of our lives, and leave Him there everyday. Through Him our joy will be complete, and He will give us the desires of our heart and withhold nothing good from us!

  16. THE DAY OF RECKONING

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

The greatest deception that satan offers is to convince the believer that there are no major consequences to disobeying the WORD of GOD. We must only look to Genesis chapters 2-3 to find the painful, eternal truth to this lie. While satan deceives millions into believing that there are no consequences for their disobedient sinful actions; he also attempts to deceive millions of Born Again Apostolic believers that others are “getting by” with carnal, sinful, disobedient lifestyles. I am reminded today and remind us as well; the LORD said:

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Vengeance, repayment or getting even belongs to the LORD and HE will have the FINAL WORD in every life and situation. We are wise to LIVE for JESUS and trust HIM to take care of HIS Kingdom and focus our energy and attention on saving ourselves and all that will listen from this untoward generation.

These promises we have from the WORD of GOD.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

2Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

    GOD will find out every detail of every wrong and execute judgment in his time. We are commanded to TRUST and OBEY the eternal words that JESUS gave us. Do not be deceived. If it looks like someone is “getting away” with some secret sin;

    GOD KNOWS.

    Forgive them and KEEP MOVING!

  17. For the king trusts in the lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling. (Psalms 21:7 NLT)

People may say they don’t like me but hey like we learned at HYC I know someone who L💙VES me and his name is JESUS just cause people don’t like me dose not mean there going to bring me down because his love keeps me going and I trust in him . 😉

  18. Heart’s Desire The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2. Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Se’-lah. 3. For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever. 2 Sam 7 : 19

  19. Rise up, O lord, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts. (Psalms 21:13 NLT)

We should be praising Him with all of the wonderful things He has done!!! Hallelujah thankyou Jesus!!! Even through thick and thin I will praise your name 🙂

  20. “For the king trusteth in the Lord”. Regardless of his surrounding, he trusted in the Lord (Jesus). One must purpose in one’s heart to do right, heed the word of God (Jesus) and man of God, and trust God. Once one does, God will. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  21. NLT 5 Your victory brings him great honor,
and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty.

The victory is yours once you obey and follow God. You will rejoice, as so will God. Give God the glory and honor he deserves!

  22. 7 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

God showed himself strong to King David and delivered him so many times from his enemies. God also showed him mercy when he sinned. And God is the same yesterday, today & forever. What he has done for others he’ll do for us too. Thank you for the joy of my salvation! By your mercy & grace I will make heaven my home.

  23. v5 His glory is great in thy salvation : honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

“Rejoice in ALL GOD’s goodness ”
Trust HIM and expect HIM to do the impossible, as we lift HIM up in praise and worship for all HIS GOODNESS.
GOD has extend HIS glory to humankind
and has prepared a glorious place for us to dwell throughout eternity. An endless life

Our troubles and trails we face now will seem and mean nothing when we finally receive our glorious eternal reward.

  24. 5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

The countenance, the look of God, the facial expressions, and his attitude makes us exceedingly glad!

Why not put a smile on God’s face!

  25. Big Plans
11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
They planned to take you down. They planned to take you out, but when we rely on JESUS we don’t have to worry about what they think. He’s got our backs, every time. .

  26. 1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

This verse immediately made me think of this other one :
Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
Sometimes it feels as though we loose the revelation of God’s salvation. We loose sight of the price that was made that we may have eternal life with The Lord. It is evident in how we praise, how we worship, how we approach and come into the house of The Lord. Life may be happening left and right things going on but compared to eternal life in heaven with the ticket already paid for? How could we not rejoice shout with excitement and be thankful and grateful. The joy of The Lord is our strength. Sometimes when we let the cares of this world get to us we should make this prayer like David, “restore to me the joy of your salvation…” This jot that’s in my heart the world didn’t give it to me 🙂

  27. For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken. (Psalm 21:7 NIV)

It’s a great thing when your leader trusts in Gods word, let’s lead by example and trust God. His word is a light, a light that can break through any storm giving you a path to follow.

  28. 4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
