Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Sometimes we must quit complaining and have faith. Listing to GOD SPEAK, is the purpose of prayer.
A word from the LORD changes everything
Fears turn into trust and doubts into faith.

  2. The Lord ofall…
Thank you Jesus for protecting me with your shelter and love for me. And I pray to be a light today.

    1peter 3-
Talked about what we need to do to be in the light…and stay in the light. This is my daily food today. Busybodies are not of God…being in other peoples matters. Thank you Lord for this Word today I follow you ,Jesus.

  3. I love the Lord
    He is my salvation
And my victory all the day long!!!!!!
halleluia!!!! Gloria….Jesus la bendiga(Jesus bless you).

  4. 7. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

    2 Samuel 22:3 KJV
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

“I go to the Rock of my Salvation
I go to the Stone that the builders rejected
    I run to the mountain
And the mountain stands by me
When the earth all around me is sinking sand
On Christ, the solid rock I stand
When I need a shelter, When I need a friend,
    I go to the Rock”

  5. 4.THERE IS A RIVER, THE STREAMS WHEREOF ROAR AND BE TROUBLED, THOUGH THE MOUNTAINS SHAKE WIYTHE TABERNACLES OF THE MOST HIGH.

  6. Verse 10 AMP “Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!”

Same verse CEV “Our God says, “Calm down, and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honor me.”

Same verse NLT “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

Still: a : devoid of or abstaining from motion
    a : uttering no sound : quiet
    b : subdued, muted
    a : calm, tranquil
b : free from noise or turbulence

Sometimes, to put it bluntly “Shut up and get out of the way”. The MSG version says “Step out of the traffic!” We have to let God be God (recognize, learn and know), for he will be exalted and honored throughout the world.

  7. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. God is in the midst of our battles even though we feel like we maybe alone he is fighting it for us

  8. 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

What greater help could there be than Jesus? God will always hear our prayers and be a present help anytime for us.
God is here noted as our refuge, a place we can go to find solace in any storm in our lives. Then he mentions so truly our strength, yes strength even when we don’t think we need strength. God will always give us the strength we need to make it through life.

  9. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Only He can say, “I will…” God is God all by himself, and because He is with us, we ARE more than overcommers, we are VICTORIOUS!!

  10. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

The Holy Ghost is that river. The Spirit if God inside of us brings God joy. When we are filled with His Spirit he knows that we will return to him. When we send our children out to do something we expect them to return. We give them direction and the knowledge that they need to do the task and what they need to get back home. When we see them return it brings us joy to see them again. God has done the same with his children. He has given is what we need to return home to him. When we return to him with His Spirit he will have great joy. Thank you Jesus for giving us your Spirit so that we may return.

  11. NLT 10 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”

One day all nations will recognize that Jesus was and is the only God, unfortunately it will be towards the End of Times. When Jesus returns for his people; for some it will be to late. For now all we can do is coninue to reach out and spread the Lord’s message of salvation.

  12. iLove to eat the Word of God.

    “There is a River”
Psalms 46:4 KJV There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

If there is a river, where is that river and how can we get to it? Some say it is the river of Living Waters, and they’re right, but where does that river come from?

    ◄ Revelation 22 ►
    King James Bible
    The River of Life
1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

The River of Life flows from under the throne of God and there is life, healing virtue, and fruitfulness all around this river. If we have the Spirit of God, we should also have the Fruit of the Spirit.

    Galatians 5:22-23
    King James Version (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Psalms 46:4 KJV There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

AMEN! We found that river, let us drink from it every day. Let us keep those little foxes away from the fruit of it and when we’re sick lets use the leaves that grow near that river.

  13. 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God is our strength and our refuge when we have problems and just need a friend to talk to we can call on the name of Jesus. Why would anyone want to go and talk to someone else about their problems when all we gotta do is talk to Jesus. You know when we talk to Jesus no one else knows our problems. We may not always like the answers we get from above but it is for our own good. Our family is fixing to go thru a change with Tiffany going to Russia and during that 10 month time period we (I) am going to have to rely on God for my strength and refuge.
With God all things are possible!!!!!!!

  14. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

How often are we “still” and listen for the voice of God? I have heard of “heathen” religions and their meditations and other crazy religious activities. However, meditation is very useful if done in the correct spirit and purpose; to hear God’s voice. I find that after an intense prayer session to be still and allow the Lord to speak to me is some of the best time of the prayer meeting.

Ecclesiastes 3:1To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

I have found the difficult part is determining which season you find yourself in.

  15. THE CITY OF JOY

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

There is a RIVER, the HOLY Place.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Romans 15:13 ¶ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The RIVER that makes glad is the gift of the HOLY GHOST!

Glad – 8055. samach, saw-makh´; a primitive root; probably to brighten up, i.e. (figuratively) be (causatively, make) blithe or gleesome:—cheer up, be (make) glad, (have, make) joy(-ful), be (make) merry, (cause to, make to) rejoice, x very.

God is my refuge and strength because I can hide from pain, sorrow and trouble in the Holy Ghost.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iRejoice

    iAm VICTORIOUS

  16. Vs.1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

REFUGE – means a shelter or protection from danger, difficulty, etc… or a person or thing that gives shelter, help, or comfort.
STRENGTH – means a source of strength; that which makes strong; support.
HELP – means to make it easier for a person to do something; aid; assist; specifically, to give one in need something necessary, as relief.

Vs.10, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

When we are going through trouble, we need to stop trying to figure out the solution on our own. We need to step back and BE STILL and let God be God. He is our refuge (shelter, protection, and comfort)! He is our strength (support)! He is our help (aid and assistant)! in our times of trouble.

This made me think of a song
    .
God is my refuge and strength,
My refuge and strength in trouble, trouble.
God is my refuge and strength,
My refuge and strength in trouble.

    And he will hide me,
    Under the rock,
    Under the rock,
    Yes, under the rock,
    And he will hide me,
    Under the rock,
Safe in the time of trouble.

  17. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

That is what faith is all about, to be in the middle of a raging storm, and chose to be still and let God be God.

  18. The River

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

    Ezekiel 47:1
    Chapter 47
Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward:for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.

    Zechariah 14:8
And it shall be in that day,
    that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem;
half of them toward the former sea,
and half of them toward the hinder sea:
in summer and in winter shall it be.

    Revelation 22:1-2
    Chapter 22
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month:and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Living waters from the altar lead to life, and fruit. Without the altar there is no real life. Without life there is no fruit.

The streams will wash over us bringing joy. The alternative is no altar means no life, no fruit, and no joy.

Our daily cross is directly connected to our kingdom success!

  19. 10 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! AMP

This is a great message to me today. Sometimes I am so busy trying to fix things that I’m sure I get in God’s way. God is in control and He sees all and knows all. I must be confident that He is able to do in a minute what it takes us as humans to try to accomplish in days.

  20. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalms 46:10 NKJV)

*You are God you are the boss. Everybody will praise you. Everybody even if they don’t want to. in all the earth they will lift up the name JESUS.
You are God I must let you do what you want to do

  21. God is always with us; He has never left us and He never will! With God always walking by our side there are times and situations we get to that we need to just step aside and out of His way and say, “Ok God have Your way” and let Him show up and show all how mighty He is.

  22. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Be still. We don’t need to always fight and and struggle. We don’t always need to defend ourselves or God. Sometimes we just to stand and watch as God moves on His and our behalf. God is much more capable than we are.

    Hebrews 10:30
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

  23. HALELUJAH!!!
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble

FAITHFUL AND JUST IS MY GOD. ALWAYS ON TIME!!! HE HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN!!! I PRAISE YOU JESUS!!!

  24. God will never forsake us! I’m preparing myself to have only God to call on. I’ll be hundreds of miles away from my family and the only one who can help me at a moments notice in Russia, is God! He is my best friend and will be the strongest relationship in my life!

I’ve heard a motto and it goes like this ‘You don’t realize how much you need God until He’s all you have.’

Is it going to take having nothing for us to realize we need God? I hope not.

  25. 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

He is a very present help in troubled. He is always there through it all being our strength and our rock, being our hiding place, why fear when the creator of the universe is on our side. I will be still and let him work in my life, remove anything he has to and rebuild what has been broken I will be still and know he is God

  26. 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
God is our refuge and strength .
We need to stop fearing the things that come against us because our God has got it all under control. Most of the time we try to do God’s job in trying to take care of problems , that. If we would pray about it God is already doing what is best for the situation , but we make a mess out of it doing it our way !! God help us to trust that you are taking care of our needs if we will just be patient and pray!!

  27. God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude (Psalms 46:1, 10, 11 NLT)

  28. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

Take me to the river. Take me to the place.
I remember as I was a very young child how I used to love going to the river. Natural river, a river made by God, not a man made river. I’ve noticed how the world always tries to substitute what God has made. They have their own creations to almost anything. We see synthetic grass on stadiums, we have man made river streams and lakes, fake plants, but none of it compares to the life giving resources of the Creator, our Lord Jesus. Just like we have other things the world also tries to introduce “substitutes” to the things of God, the gospel, the doctrine, the experience. Using marketing, that has gone a great way, enticing the emotions, some try to mimic and or substitute a real move of God. However and real move of God will bring forth life. New life. Life that causes you to change. The Word says that out of our bellies shall spring rivers of living water
    John 4:14
    New King James Version (NKJV)

14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

    John 7:38-39
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing[a] in Him would receive; for the Holy[b] Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

It is His Spirit that gives us that living water. There is nothing that can take place when God visits and gives you to drink of His living water, His Spirit.

If you notice in the natural everywhere there is a real river there seems to be life.

I want to go to that place where I loved to go over and over again. Take me to the river God where I can drink of your waters daily and have life more abundantly in Christ and bear much fruit.

  29. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

This is one of my favorite verses. It speaks a great truth. Be still. That phrase is a title to a song that has helped me in times of need. It says as this says. Be still and know I am God. What a powerful statement. In our society today, we have the McDonalds mentality. We need to have it in 15 seconds or less. But in Isaiah 40:31 it states,”But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. ” that word wait also means be still.
I pray that this next statement is heard in the right text. In our world of fast pace, even our churches are getting in that thought process. We want what God has for us now. Right now and not next week. But for those who wait for a cake to bake, then eat of its sweetness. But if you don’t wait it’s just a pile of mush. So if you know your doing right and things don’t seem to be going anywhere. Be still and know that He is God.

  30. The Lord Is With Us

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

    Genesis 39:20-21
20 And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

21 But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

What comfort to have in the middle of a trial! Joseph was familiar with the sort of trouble described at the beginning of today’s Psalm as well as how the Lord was his refuge:

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

We will experience trouble in life but it doesn’t matter what we have to go through if we have God on our side and keep our focus on Him. When the Lord is with us, what can stop us?

    Romans 8:31-39
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  31. God is with us and is our refuge……

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Be still and wait on God….for our God will be exalted by US. He said so, and remember what happened when Jesus prayed for Lazerus. John 12:28……

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

    Be blessed………..

  32. God is our refuge.

The Complete Word Study Bible defines refuge as..

H4268. מַחְסֶה maḥseh:A masculine noun designating a refuge, shelter. It indicates a place of safety and protection, security. It is used figuratively most often of God as a refuge for His people (Ps. 14:6; 46:1 [2]; 61:3 [4]; 62:7 [8]; 71:7; 73:28; Prov. 14:26; Jer. 17:17; Joel 3:16 [4:16]). It is used of various types of sheltering:from storms (Isa. 4:6; 25:4); from danger for people or animals (Ps. 104:18); a false retreat, a false haven of deceit or falsity (Isa. 28:15, 17)
    ( CWSDict)

Whatever the situation in life is, Jesus is our protection from it. This psalm reminds us that regardless of the circumstances that we are in, we can trust in God. Even if the Earth is being removed, we can find our security in God.

This scripture is more applicable to us in regards to falsehood. It does not matter what kind of deceit or false accusations are against us, we can remain confident in God to keep us strong. The apostle Paul saw this in his life multiple times. God kept him uplifted despite the accusations against him.

Two times the sons of Korah (they are believed to have written this) say the Lord of host is with us-his presence is our protection.

-with us– on our side; His presence is terror to our enemies, safety to us
    (Psalms 46:7 JFB)

In Christ, and in Christ alone, we are free from sin. See Romans 7 and 8 and Galations 5:16

  33. “I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”. One that is wise will exalt the Lord (Jesus), even the more as the heathen attempts to rage. Pray, Praise, and be Victorious! What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  34. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
There are times in our life when we feel that we are bombarded with trouble and test. Times we may feel all hope is lost or maybe we’re just overwhelmed with the pressures of this life but God says in this verse to be still and know that he Is God. that means that we must know that he can take care of whatever need we may have! we must remember that no problem is too hard for God.we should be still wait patiently and let God work things out in our lives

  35. 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

We serve the mighty God who can calm the storms and the raging seas. He’s the still small voice & he is the same yesterday today & forever.

  36. 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    3. A source of help, relief, or comfort in times of trouble.

The Lord is my strength! No matter the what the trouble. He is present! Before we ever arrive to a moment in time he is already there?

    Great and mighty is He!

  37. GOD IS our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1 AMP)

    Refuge

    2. a place of shelter, protection, or safety.

He truly has protected me of things known and unknown. And I’m very thankful for. He is my safety and shelter.  He is my salvation. All I need is find in Jesus!

My God, my Rock, in Him will I take refuge; my Shield and the Horn of my salvation; my Stronghold and my Refuge, my Savior–You save me from violence. [Gen. 15:1.] (2 Samuel 22:3 AMP)

  38. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Sometimes life has a way of taking you to a place where everything around you is shaking. You will feel like you are literally in a earthquake that will not stop. Your constantly expecting it to be over but it takes longer for it to end.

Even in these times you can “be still” just because everything around you is shaking a falling apart does not mean you have to. Grab ahold of Jesus and brace yourself for the ride because at some point He will be exalted and take you out with Him.
