  1. 7For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

If I got talent what do I need to understand when I sing praises to God?
    1. Its not about talent but about Him.

Talent will take you somewhere but anointing will take you into His presence. In His presence is where chains are broken and yokes destoryed. When He is exalted He will draw lives to Himself. With just talent you may amuse and gratify the sense of hearing but you will not change the atmosphere around you.
    2. The life behind the sound changes the atmosphere.

You can not live like a devil all week then expect to sing like a angelic host of angels. You will end up sounding like a angel but a fallen one. Align your life with the Word and watch Him work through you.

    3. Praise has nothing to do with feelings.

If you only praise when its all good you are cheating God and yourself. You are also showing a lack of faith. True praisers praise because they know who He is and understand that life is just that and lasts for a short time but eternity has no end. Praise Him because he brought you out. Praise Him because of who He is… just praise. A joyful noise is not about sound but heart. Is your heart right with Him and is it glorifying Him?

  2. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

  3. Verse 1 AMP “O clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy!” Why shout you say, because “We are victorious in Jesus name!”

Verse 6 AMP “Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!” We are to sing praises in the midst of a storm, in the midst of our joy, in the midst of abundance, in the midst of sickness, in the midst of the trauma and drama…..always, always, always.

Verse 7 AMP “For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises in a skillful psalm and with understanding.” When we can shout and sing praises throughout it all; we sing with a new song….. a new appreciative spirit and understanding of who He really is. Thank you Jesus……Hallelujah.

  4. ilove to eat the Word

5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

I’m going to use what Sister Crockett said in her comment, “3. Is your heart right with Him and is it glorifying Him?”

This is exactly what Brother Henderson was talking about last night, Hallelujah!

  5. (KJV)
Vs.6, “Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing ye praises unto our King, sing praises.”
Vs.7, “For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.”
    (NLT)
    Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King over all the earth.
    Praise him with a psalm.

I want to share two other passages of scriptures.
1 Cor.14:15 says, “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”
Eph. 5:19-20 says, “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

When we sing, we need to sing with our whole heart to the Lord. For He is the King over all the earth. We need to give Him THANKS ALWAYS for ALL THINGS just because He is Great and Greatly to be Praised!

  6. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

Yes we should sing the praises of God, sing as we are praising God. We should sing praises with all our heart and should be true to our walk with God.
I love praises with understanding not a series of words with no meaning. Let us praise him with songs that tell about our great God.

  7. 8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

Psalms 47:8 (ASV) 8 God reigneth over the nations: God sitteth upon his holy throne.
Psalms 47:8 (NET) 8 God reigns over the nations! God sits on his holy throne!
(ESV, NKJV same words as NET but different punctuation)

It says in KJV he reigns over the heathern. I. The other translations itvsays the nations. I think that the reason it says the heathern is because heathern a tend to go against the rulers. Non-heatherns usually are in unity with their ruler.

Let’s be unified and see what God will do.

  8. YES LORD!!!
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

WITH UNDERSTANDING, sad to say but not everyone understands how important it is to praise, and to praise with understanding is……..
It is great to be in a church that knows how to praise!!!
HALELUJAH!!! I am blessed!!! Thank you JESUS!!! I PRAISE YOU DADDY!!!

  9. NLT
    2. For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.

    3. He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet.

He is awesome, He is the Great King, and He puts the enemy under our feet; how could we not praise Him?

Triumphant in battle, we are victorious,
God is most high over all the earth.
    Jesus has conquered, Satan’s defeated,
the enemy is under my feet, so I will…

Shout with a voice of triumph,
Shout with a voice of praise.
Shout with a voice of triumph,
Shout with a voice of praise.
Shout unto God for the victory, hey, hey
Give the Lord a shout of praise.

  10. The Buckler

    Psalms 47:9
The princes of the people are gathered together,
even the people of the God of Abraham:for the shields of the earth belong unto God:he is greatly exalted.

The word for shield is the word buckler. This is a small round shield used in hand to hand combat. The buckler provided four main functions.

Hand protection: The primary use of the buckler was to protect the sword hand.

Deflector: The buckler’s lightness and curved center made it excellent for deflecting attacking blades.

Blinder: The light blades used in conjunction with the buckler depended on rapid movements, which meant that a single second was an important advantage. The wielder of the buckler could use the buckler to shield his sword-hand’s position from view, keeping his opponent from guessing his next strike.
“Metal fist”: A buckler could be used to directly attack an opponent by punching with either its flat face or its rim.

Binder: The buckler could be used to bind an opponent’s sword hand and weapon as well as their buckler against their body. The buckler was also very useful in grappling, where it allowed an opponent’s arms to be easily wrapped up and controlled.

    Ephesians 6:16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Spiritually the shield of faith protects our sword hand. The hand we use to carry the word of God.

It deflects the enemy’s word. It hides the our next move from the enemy, and it allows us to grapple the enemy!

The shields of the earth belong to God. Although there is a Great War going on the army of the Lord’s defense is much higher than the enemy. They can fight but they can’t defend.

    Matthew 16:18
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The word and faith, the sword and the shield, gives us the upper hand in the battle for souls!

  11. I AM VICTORIOUS

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Understanding the authority of the WORD of GOD is priceless. The Bible as we know it is filled with promises and cammands, with an occasional contingency; such as where the WORD of GOD says “if”. The gpspel of John offers clarity in regards to the author and source of all scripture.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Since there is no “if” connected to verse 1, I receive the verse as a command from the author. Everybody claim VICTORY, clap, shout, rejoice and live VICTORIOUS. By receiveing the WORD of GOD as that; “a WORD from GOD” we read, hear and receive every directive as a command from the LORD our GOD.

This command of expressive praise is a command to exercise our FAITH in GOD, regardless of circumstance or condition and is sequel to:

Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

For the multitudes that ask “why” the psalmist answers in the following 3 verses:
2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

I AM VICTORIOUS simply because of who HE is!

My VICTORY is not contingent on when or what time HE delivers me, but on the fact that HE is MY GOD and HE is VICTORIOUS and HE is in ME through the gift and power of the Holy Ghost:

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

JESUS the Christ is in me and I am in HIM

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

    I AM VICTORIOUS

  12. **Praise the king of king, The Lord of Lords. Praise him for the victory and the triumph over the enemy. And for forgiveness. And the mercy he had provided for us. I Praise him for the victory of my pass thank you Jesus.
I praise him not only in the good times but when I’m in the bad times. When the world is coming done all me when I think I can’t carry on. I praise him for the opportunitys he had given me. I praise you for everything!!!

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

Praise with understanding, if other people can’t understand our worship because they can’t make out the words is it really worship at all? If we’re gonna praise him it should be for the whole world to hear and understand. Unashamed, beautiful praises to our king is what he deserves

  15. What a great opening verse! Clap your hands all ye people and shout with a voice of triumph! I am victorious!

Sis Watts… This might make a good song to learn…

    Hey hey hey!

  16. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Sing praises because of who He is! Not what we feel or think but because who we know He is. Not everyone can praise God because they don’t understand who He is but those of us who have the revelation have no reason to not praise God. We know He is king of kings, lord of lords, alpha, omega, prince of peace, the everlasting. He is healer, deliverer, and savior. We can praise because of our understanding of who He is.

  17. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises! (NLT)

    Hallelujah!! Praise The Lord!!

  18. 4 He chose our inheritance for us, the glory and pride of Jacob, whom He loves. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Sometimes my mind cannot comprehend the vastness of how thorough the plan of God is. From creation to the cross, our future inheritance was on His mind. The influence of the word of God and His spirit in our lives, compelling us to take up our cross and follow the Lord, guiding us to our eternal inheritance. Filling each of us with himself, His spirit within us that will lead and guide us daily into all truth.

    Ephesians 1:14
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

  19. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises

Always have a song in your heart. I find myself humming at work and then that opens doors cause people want to know what you are singing and why. Why cause my Jesus has done so much for me and my family I wanna praise him daily.

  20. Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.

God has ascended with a mighty shout. The LORD has ascended with trumpets blaring. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a psalm. (Psalms 47:1, 2, 5-7 NLT)
    Amen!!!!!!

  21. 8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness
.9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

God commands the visible & invisible things of this earth…even the heathen are subject to his command. That makes us victorious in everything we give to him. In his hands every situation can work for our good..

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

  22. It doesn’t matter how hard things get or how great things get, never forget who allowed you to wake up this morning or blessed you to take a breath or loves you enough to give chances. I fall short of praising when I’m top of the mountain and I have to realize I didn’t get there on my own. I look to my side and see God with me. I look down the mountain God and I just conquered and see where God had to carry me!!

Thank you Jesus for your undying love!

  23. I have only one WORD to say……………………………………..

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

    “Hallelujah”…………………………………………………..

  24. 7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

I will sing and praise God for all he has done he is good and he deserves it

  25. v1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph .
v6 Sing praises to God sing praises : sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

Our GOD IS JESUS and HIM SHALL we worship ONLY.

The devil hates a shouting and shinning church . If he could put their light and shout out, then we are like all other denominations.

As long as we , run the isle , shout
hallelujah ,clap hand and praise GOD that sets us apart.
If you’re really going to worship JESUS they ought to see JESUS IN YOU.
Shout for the victory and for who JESUS IS!

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iRejoice

  26. “For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding”. It is very wise to praise God (Jesus), for there is victory in one’s praise; “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises”. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  27. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Sing praises with understanding. How many times do we sing songs without really understanding them. This is why it must be a heart felt praise. When sing with our heart we then get deeper understanding about songs. When he wrote songs,David understood this. We must sing not only with our voices but with our hearts.

  28. 7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
How many times have we sing praises to God without thinking about what the song really means? When we know what were singing and believe what were singing it makes a difference not only for you but others around you.

Jesus my Rock, I’m calling Jesus my rock
I’m calling Jesus My Rock Ohhhhh Jesus my Rock.. Jesus..Jesus..Jesus..Jesus..
    Im calling Jesus My Rock!

  29. Sing praises.

    Psalms 47:6
    Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.

Praise – H2167. זמר zamar:A verb meaning to play an instrument, to sing with musical accompaniment. Stringed instruments are commonly specified in connection with this word, and the tambourine is also mentioned once (Ps. 33:2; 71:22, 23; 149:3).

This is contradictory to the church movement that forbids instruments to be played during worship.

Praise that requires instruments indicates a few things.

We assume to play an instrument indicates some level of skill or know how. Simply playing an instrument is a form of worship.

Words with music is to praise God is an expected practice of those who praise God.

This form of worship is more than mere noise. It suggests a practiced ability.

Pofw’s music ministry is a form of worship. Those involved are expected to put for the effort to hone their musical talent. Practice, talent, some understanding of music theory, and the like is no different to praise than study, pronunciation, and the ability to read is to preaching.

    Practice, and sing praises.

  30. 5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

Simply stated……God is great! There is none like him. Lift him up in the sanctuary.

When we lift him up in praise, men are drawn unto him!

    Simply put……God is great!

  31. The Lord is Terrible

2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

All the scriptures that talk about Gods love are real and relevant to our lives but God also has other sides. Look at all the scriptures that show the wrath and the anger of God.

When there is sin God is mad. When Gods people perish because of sin God becomes terrible.

  32. Psalm 47 Exalt the Lord Most High

It begins with a universal call to praise Israel’s God. This is reinforced with reasons: He is an awe-inspiring God(v2),

  33. Understanding

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

There are many things that are left in question in our walk with God, but God does not desire for us to remain all in the dark about Him but rather come to know Him in relationship. He wants us to know His ways and His nature, a sense of His personality if you will. We can learn much from His Word, however there will be times when we learn of Him not through simply reading or hearing of Him but by actually experiencing His nature. Afterall, Jesus is not looking for distant admirers but a close personal relationship with us.

It’s easy for us to call Him Healer when it’s someone else in the hospital, or Provider when someone else’s bank account got drained in a sudden turn of events, or Judge when someone else is being falsely accused. But going through difficult times and finding out firsthand God’s sufficiency gives us opportunity to deepen our walk with Him. He’s no longer just God the healer but God my healer, God my deliverer, God my savior… This deeper place of understanding through experience gives us a unique praise that nobody else can offer because nobody else has the same individual relationship with God as we do.

    1 John 5:20 NLT
And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.

  34. For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises in a skillful psalm and with understanding. (Psalm 47:7 AMP)

It’s not enough to choose a song to sing onto God but we must choose the best song. A song we know has been proven and comes from the heart.

Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also. (1 Corinthians 14:15 AMP)

  35. 1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

    HALLELUJAH!!
We are instructed to praise to give God the glory and sing praised to Him. There are many reasons to. One that I like us to shut the mouth of the enemy that is constantly trying to speak negative to you…about problems, about situations, about life, but our Gos is greater, bigger, stronger! Mighty to deliver, healer, provider, comforter. Praise just because of who He is.

  36. VS 7 When we understand who God really is, we will truly praise him with all that is within us.
