Psalm 48

1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

5 They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

6 Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

  1. Psalm 48 Greatness of the Lord

v.1 GREAT is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

Matthew 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool : neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

    The Lovingkindness of the Lord
    vv.9-14

v.14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Isaiah 58:11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

  2. O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple. As your name deserves, O God, you will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory. Let the people on Mount Zion rejoice. Let all the towns of Judah be glad because of your justice. (Psalms 48:9-11 NLT)

Oh when I think about The Lord, it gives me JOY, I am encouraged because I know that His hand is protecting me from my enemy!! It is in HIM that I am VICTORIOUS. For The Lord is my strong tower! I have every reason to praise and worship THE GREAT I AM!!!!!! 🙏🙌👏😀

  3. 10. Your name, God, evokes a train of Hallelujahs wherever It is spoken, near and far; your arms are heaped with goodness-in-action.
    MSG

Just speaking the name Jesus makes you want to praise Him. Why? Because when you speak His Name, something happens; demons flee, chains break, sickness is healed, whatever you need to happen can be done in an instant. Say it with me, “Jesus…Jesus….Jesus!”

  4. BE GLAD

11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

Most often people rejoice and are glad because of good things that happen to us. For mount Zion, (A mountain of Jerusalem) where the church was birthed, the daughters of Judah (Praise) are to BE GLAD because of judgements.

Rejoice because we are the Church and be glad through our Praise because of the protection and law of the LORD.

Judgements – 4941. mishpat, mish-pawt´; properly, a verdict (favorable or unfavorable) pronounced judicially, especially a sentence or formal decree (human or (participant’s) divine law

  5. God is all knowing and loves us tenderly.

Thank you Jesus for loving us till the ends of the earth. Ps14

He is God forever and ever. Amen.
Praise is for all eternal. I love lifting up His Name here on earth…get ready for when I/we go to see Him one day there will be “crazy”praise that we won’t be stopping it will be fore ever and ever.
What a day to look forward to. Thank you for the church to allow us to worship Him how ever we need to ,to remove ugly and distasteful emotions off of us/me. Once I start praising Him chains fall off …HALLELUIAH!!!
THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR GREATNESS!!!!
    LOVE YOU JESUS.

  6. YES LORD!!!
14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
THANK YOU GOD FOR THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST, AND FOR BEING FAITHFUL EVEN WHEN I’M NOT!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  7. Jesus

    Psalms 48:10
As is Your name, O God,
    So is Your praise to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is full of righteousness.

Jesus is righteous and just. No other man in history has had such an impact in the world. He even changed the way we view the calendar.

One man birthed a religion based on equality, love, and benevolence. Self acclaimed Christians have tarnished the doctrine he set forth with their own vain interpretations of the bible.

Yet we know the righteousness of Christ in that he loves us, died for us, and would see us saved.

The world needs to see a new demonstration of Christianity. Christians who are part of the redeemed bride of Christ that are divorced from the world.

Jesus is just and righteous. May we exhibit those same characteristics as proper ambassadors of Christ to our generation.

  8. 10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

Praise in the name of Jesus Christ, no greater name on earth. The praise of the Lord of heaven is great even unto the ends of the earth.
We should always praise God even in all situations. Praise is the answer to all things, if we learn to always Praise God, we will win the battle.

  9. 1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

The mighty and wonderful things you do when we dont deserve nothing shows what a wonderful awesome God. You are ❤ tyj

  10. (NLT) Ps.48:1
    How great is the Lord,
    how deserving of praise,
in the city of our God,
which sits on his holy mountain!

    (NLT) Ps.145:2-3 & 21
    I will praise you everyday;
yes, I will praise you forever.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.
    I will praise the Lord,
and may everyone on earth bless his holy name
    forever and ever.

I will praise the Lord everyday for HE is GREAT and GREATLY to be PRAISED!!

  11. iLove to eat the Word

    Get Drunk on Gladness

11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

Wow I looked up the word “glad” and it is really cool what I found.

    glad H1523
    גּוּל גּיל
    gı̂yl gûl
    gheel, gool
A primitive root; properly to spin around (under the influence of any violent emotion), that is, usually rejoice, or (as cringing) fear: – be glad, joy, be joyful, rejoice.

“To spin around under the influence of any violent emotion” BOOM!

    In Your Face Goliath!!! My

  12. 11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

“Judgments” indicate that there where boundaries to live by. Rejoice and be glad because someone loves you enough to set boundaries of protection around you. When everything in life is going well most want to rebel against boundaries but the moment things go wrong we pray and cry for safety. When if we would have just embraced the boundaries from the beginning we would have already been in His saftey.

  13. Favored Odds

    Psalms 48:11-13
Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of Your [righteous] judgments!
Walk about Zion, and go round about her, number her towers (her lofty and noble deeds of past days),
Consider well her ramparts, go through her palaces and citadels, that you may tell the next generation [and cease recalling disappointments].

    We are victorious!

It doesn’t matter what battle we are currently in. We must keep in mind the past victories over the enemy, and know that the devil is a defeated foe. With The Lord on our side we have nothing to fear.

Walk about Zion, the church and talk about the spoils of war. Remind yourself of the celebrations, and triumph.

    Why?

Because we are still victorious. Even when the battle looks rough there are still more of us than there are of them

    2 Kings 6:15-18
Early in the morning a servant of the Holy Man got up and went out. Surprise! Horses and chariots surrounding the city! The young man exclaimed, “Oh, master! What shall we do?”
He said, “Don’t worry about it––there are more on our side than on their side.”
Then Elisha prayed, “O God, open his eyes and let him see.”
The eyes of the young man were opened and he saw. A wonder! The whole mountainside full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha!
When the Arameans attacked, Elisha prayed to God, “Strike these people blind!” And God struck them blind, just as Elisha said

  14. 10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

Because of the faithfulness He has for His name, God has and will continue to do many miracles all over this world. For His name’s sake, He refuses to allow His word to return void.

All around the world, people are doing their own things, proclaiming the name of Jesus, and saying that their doctrine is true, because they see miracles, yet all along, not teaching what is been written in the word. It’s in His word that Jesus, tells us that there will come a day when He will tell them, “Depart, I knew you not.”

We must make sure that in all we do, we do it according to the way His word lines us out. We must make sure that we teach, only what is in His word. We must LIFT HIS name up, because if we do, He will draw all men to Him, and as we know, it IS NOT His will for any to parish, but that all should come to repentance and have ever lasting life.

  15. 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

Gods word cannot return void. It is forever established and settled in heaven.

There have been many prophecies spoken over POFW and the region of Fort Worth. We must continue to pursue those promises and believe that God will establish them in our city. We declare He is the God our City!!!

  16. 9 O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple.
10 As your name deserves, O God, you will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory. (NLT)

“We worship You, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We worship You, for who You are.” You deserve all glory and praise Lord!

  17. Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah be glad, Because of Your judgments. (Psalms 48:10, 11 NKJV)

**Set your eyes to Zion. Gods people praise on just keep on loving him keep on praise up and let the whole world hear you. Praise him until the end of the earth.
    Be happy.
    Be joyful.
    Find happiness in his presence.

When your down and hurt get up and brush the dirt off your shoulder. Praise the KING of KINGS. He delivers and sets free.

  18. 11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

I am a daughter of Praise!!!!! My lips are full of praises to you my Lord and Savior. Blessed be the Name of the Lord JESUS!!!!!

  19. 9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

How often is the Lord on our minds? Can we find the Lord in all the things we do?
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. NIV.

We are instructed to do all things with Him in mind. Mowing the yard, buying groceries, filling the car with gas or sitting in traffic. I have found it easier to keep the Lord on the fore-front of my mind by continually praying; not always a snot slinger, just mindful conversation.

  20. 10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

God is eternal, so our praises should be too. He is not eternal one day and then he takes a day off. No. He is consistent and our praises should be too. He is righteous, he is holy, magnificent, omnipotent, ever living and all knowing there is no God like our God and it is not hard to praise a God soo good. He is merciful and in that alone should we praise him because we don’t deserve his mercies but he is still faithful to forgive. I pray I could be as forgiving and loving as him. He is good.

  21. 10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

There are many different titles attached to Gods name. Healer, deliverer, savior, mighty, protector, everlasting, alpha and omega, the beginning and end, etc. Our praises should echo His name. Has He healed? Praise The Lord! Has He saved? Has He delivered? Protected? Praise God! Oh He’s everlasting? That’s how long our praise should last.

  22. As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it forever. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! (Psalm 48:8 AMP)

We have also heard and seen The Lord’s mighty acts. And as we share our experience with others they get an opportunity to share our excitement with us.

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. (1 John 1:1-4 NLT)

  23. I used to hate having to be home by 10 on a school night or not being able to drive wherever I wanted or when. I look back now and see that my parents did everything they did because they love me and want me to be successful. If I were to do whatever and whenever I wanted I wouldn’t be the woman I am today.
    Thank you dad and mom!

The same applies to my relationship with God. He has boundaries to live by so that we can be more like Him. I’m thankful that I have boundaries to live by because that let’s me know that I am loved!

Thank you Jesus for your blessings!

  24. 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

God lives for ever and ever. He’ll never go away and his love is everlasting love.

  25. 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched (concerning the word of life – -1 John 1:1

What great things we have seen in the presence of the Lord! What great things have happened at the laying on of hands of the Man of God!

We will see and experience greater than what we have.

    You ain’t seen nothing yet!

Jesus said to him, “Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” -John 1:50
He continued, “I tell all of you the solemn truth – you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” -John 1:51

For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. -John 5:20

  26. 1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

  27. vss. 9-10 We have thought of thy loving – kindness , O God, in the midst of thy temple.

v10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness .

    PRAISE GOD ! For HIS LOVING-kindness .
HE KNOWS our whereabouts and conditions , and provides a specific action designed to remedy a specific need .
I’m thankful for HIS CONCERN and LOVING- KINDNESS towards HIS children.

  28. 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Live it. Breathe it. Believe it. He is the king of kings and lord of lords. He is the great I am.

  29. “That ye may tell it to the generation following”. One must tell others, for there are many that know god (false), but there are few that know Jesus (real God). What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  30. The city of God

1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

God inhabits the praises of his people. Therefore the more he is praised the larger the city becomes . If we are the city set on a hill then we should show forth praise in the city. God is looking for a place to camp. I pray it is POFW and familys

  31. Those in power are amazed at our great God and the things that he does.

4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. 5 They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

    They got together-UNITY!

  32. Verse 14 AMP “For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide [even] until death.” There is no God like my God and he will guide you as Psalm 32:8 NLT reads “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Thank you, Jesus.

  33. 11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

The all knowing God wise and sovereign King. We sometimes do not understand the Lord’s judgements or why this or that. Yet the love of God is great for us, a reason to praise Him at all times. He is the righteous, just judge. He will reward all according to their actions. We are judged according to the boundaries set for us. It is not that He is mean but rather wants to keep us in the right path. It is not His will that any should perish but that all come to repentance. If we see the closing verse says it all for this God is our God forever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Psalm 19:7-8 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

  34. 1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
God is great and is always worthy of our highest praises. As we go through our life no matter were we find ourselves or what we go through we should sing his praises. What I have found is that as long as I have Jesus there is no such thing as a bad day! ” I am victorious!”

  35. Big Enough

3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

No matter the season of life or situation, God is more than enough for us and can handle what we’re facing. From beginning to end of our time here on earth, God is our refuge who will never fail us. We can find hope is Him no matter how things look or feel. I am reminded of amusement park rides with height requirements that have signs posted, “you must be this high to ride.” Our problems may seem too big for us, even larger than life, but they don’t size up compared to our God. That reality may not always feel very real but as we draw near to God, that still, small whisper of His Spirit will connect us with the truth that Jesus is our help through every part of life. Our faith need not even be that big and we can still connect with the God who is bigger than anything we’ll face in our life…

    Luke 17:6
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

  36. Vs 1 God is holy and we must strive for holiness so that we can truly praise him the way he wants to be praised.

  37. A song you can sing 1. GREAT is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zi’-on, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. Ps. 50 : 2 The LORD is Great, Good, Awesome, and Holy. King of all kings, LORD of all lords, and greatly to be praised. His Love Endureth Forever. Thank You For Loving Me JESUS !!!!!
