Psalm 49

1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

  1. Every man must give an account unto God. Nothing can save except through the blood of Jesus. We must be ready for our day will inevitably come.

  2. 10. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

    Everyone rich or poor, wise or foolish, faces their end to this world, the difference is how we will spend eternity once this life is over.

    Hebrews 9:27 KJV
    And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

  3. 13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

    Being rich or poor will have no effect on your salvation, but your ways will. Your ways may be your folly and cause your destruction. Your words could be smart and bring you more riches, but if your ways are still foolish, your end will be destruction.
    So my question today is construction or destruction ?
    The choice is yours!

  4. Love you LordJesus….because you’re the KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS.

    and You,Lord Jesus is my true friend.

    • PSALMS1:1&2

      1/
      Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor sitteth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

      2/
      But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

  5. 17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
    20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
    21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

    This does not mean you don’t need to prosper; I always believed that if you ALWAYS give GOD His 10% and offerings for the labor of His Kingdom, everything will be ok. It is when we get to love the money and the things we buy with it more than God.

  6. 1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
    2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
    3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

    The Lord is no respecter of persons. He said, ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be open unto you. Rich, poor, old, young, red, yellow, black or white, none of these matter to HIm. What does matter is someone who is willing to be obedient and follow His commandments; “love The Lord your God with all your heart, mind ..,. This is the whole duty of man. When we keep that commandment, anything He asks of us, we are willing to do. Then we will find the wisdom and knowledge that is spoken of in this chapter.

  7. MY REDEEMER LIVES

    15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

    My HOPE and TRUST are in the POWER of the CROSS of JESUS!

    He alone is able to redeem my soul.

  8. YES LORD!!!
    20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
    Can’t have one with out the other!!!
    Thank YOU JESUS!!! I LOVE AND PRAISE YOU

  9. 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding

    There are plenty of adversaries in out lives that try everything they can to get us to say something that would go against God, to say something that they can use against us or turn on us to prove us to be just like the rest of the world. We are faced with a decision every time out mouths are opened… Whether to speak now and possibly mess up or to check with God first and see what he would have us to say. I find in my own life that when I will pray before a conversation or meeting that it always turns out that Gods will takes place. If I go in without getting my orders from God then it is my will being displayed and most of the time it turns into a mess.

    1 Thessalonians 4:
    11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

    Sometimes it’s Gods will that we say nothing. Saying nothing could be speaking great wisdom.

    If I continually pray over all my situations and let God be my guidance then my heart will always be full of understanding. He knows all things, so why not ask him.

  10. The rich

    Psalms 49:16-19
    So don’t be impressed with those who get rich
    and pile up fame and fortune.
    They can’t take it with them;
    fame and fortune all get left behind.
    Just when they think they’ve arrived
    and folks praise them because they’ve made good,
    They enter the family burial plot
    where they’ll never see sunshine again.

    Mark 10:25
    It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

    In my new job I am privileged to step in some of the finest houses in the Fort Worth area. Immaculate swimming pools, illustrious wood working, spiral stair cases, thick granite table tops, and luxurious stone working. The cars are sleek, expensive, and fast. The entertainment areas are state of the art. Even their refrigerators are worth a ton.

    Yet in most eyes of these wealthy people there is a deep void needing to be filled. Though they are surrounded by the finer things in life they are missing the most valuable possession of all, the Holy Ghost.

    I pray that God remove from us the stigma we are tempted to feel towards the rich. Moving past thoughts of envy, covetousness, and jealousy. These individuals are souls. They will spend an eternity in either heaven or hell like everybody else.

    Only for them it is much more difficult. I agree we should continue to war against a poverty mentality. I agree that God wants to bless his people with wealth.

    Let’s not forget the rich. Lord give us a burden to look past the materials they possess into their need. Help us to see the potential, and not the pocket book. Jesus help us to win the rich regardless if it brings in extra cash flow or not.

    The rich and poor and all in between need Jesus!

  11. They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
    7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
    8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

    Our money won’t buy our way into heaven! It doesn’t matter how rich you are you have to be saved the same way the very poor are!!Repentence, baptizism in Jesus Name, being filled with the Holy Ghost and living for God with all our heart , soul, and body!!!
    Thankful that God fixed it where anyone can be saved !!
    I am VICTORIOUS !!!

  12. “Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names”. Life is short, as such one that feels above God’s (Jesus) word or another is living in deception. Whereas one that obeys the word of God, and heeds the man of God has a promise; “But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me”. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  13. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    Don’t get jealous when one gets a blessing. Rejoice with them. You never know when your blessing is around the corner.

  14. None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him— (Psalms 49:7 NKJV)

    *noboday can redeem you noboday can take place as God. Only God is the redeemer and the deliver. Only he can wash away your sins. Only he can make you feel better and allow you to get ride of the bad. And make you whole. Fill your heart with love. He is the ABSOLUTE.

    If you look to somebody to make you feel better they can’t. Look to Jesus. That’s the real help.
    Only Jesus can save.
    Jesus is our Savior.

  15. 10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

    We all die eventually and it doesn’t matter how we die or how old we are when we died, what matters is how we lived. Treasures set up on earth will pass away with us but treasures set up in heavenly places are what really matters. We should live out loud for Jesus because death can be very unexpected and I would hate it if I died and people I knew had no idea that I was a Christian. I want to proclaim my faith out loud every day so that no matter what happens, when I die my life would have had purpose

  16. Vs.15, “But God will redeem (to set free; ransom; rescue) my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah”

    What a powerful chapter this morning. It doesn’t matter whether you are of low or high estate, poor or rich. You can’t buy Salvation. Jesus has already paid the price. The only thing that matters in this life is if you have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and living your life for Jesus. Because if you have, He will redeem your soul from the power of the grave, and receive you.

    1 Thess.4:15-17 says, “For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumph of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive anhd remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

    1 Cor. 15:55 says, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

  17. Remembrance

    Psalm 49:13 KJV
    This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

    Psalm 49:13 NLT
    This is the fate of fools, though they are remembered as being wise. Interlude

    A person’s life speaks from the grave, though they take none of their wealth or fame with them there. But just because they are remembered fondly for “being that wise business person who got rich” or some such, that doesn’t take away from how those riches were temporal. Those who benefit from such riches will be apt to approve such a life after their passing but what of those riches (if any remain) after those descendants pass on? A legacy in the temporal is a fleeting thing that none hold on to.

    But what else could we be remembered for? Eternal treasures are available to those who make room for them. A heart cluttered with *stuff* will only have room for temporal treasures, but a heart set on God and the eternal will lay up treasures in heaven as well as have room for prosperity on earth. If we are remembered for anything, let it be for the eternal impact made through our lives. Let it be for the souls  that pass through those pearly gates because God could use us to reach the lost and encourage our fellow brothers and sisters to finish their course. Those are treasures we can go with into eternity as we rejoice together in the presence of God.

    Matthew 6:19-21
    19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

    20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

    21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

  18. 7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
    8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
    9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

    Nothing on earth can keep us here. We are on a journey in this life. No amount of money, riches, talent, or works will keep death at bay. It’s the gatekeeper at the end of this life we must all face. Things may not keep us here but our faith, love, obedience, and good works or the lack thereof will determine where we go. Eternal decisions need to be made now

  19. 6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
    7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

    The only thing that can put our trust in and know that it is good. Is in God. All these things on earth will pass away, but God is the same yesterday, today ,and forever.

  20. 10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

  21. My Jesus, will redeem my soul………he’s my redeemer and you can’t take all those riches with you. “Be a Cheerful Giver, don’t frown!”

    15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
    16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    “Give”…………………….and it shall be given unto you!……..

  22. They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches.

    In this life they consider themselves fortunate and are applauded for their success.

    People who boast of their wealth don’t understand; they will die, just like animals. (Psalms 49:6, 18, 20 NLT)

    People can be so blinded by what they have attained in life. But, yet are so blinded by wealth. They have lost their focus in life. They can get up so early in the morning to feed their physical body, work, drink, party, etc. they don’t see the importance of feeding their spirit. We must have balance in our lives and truly see what The Lord has for us. Everything in this world is temporal, none of it will make you whole, complete, joyful, peaceful, like Jesus can!!

    For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36 KJV)

    Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. (Proverbs 11:4 KJV)

  23. 15 But as for me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave. Interlude.

    Thank you Lord for being my redeemer!

  24. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.

    God will bring you from the dominion of the grave if you believe in him weather it is in heaven or raised from the dead beacause it’s not your time.

  25. v4 I will incline mine war to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

    We can Praise and sing our way out of trouble.

    iSing
    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iRejoice

  26. Knowledge and understanding.

    Psalms 49:20
    Man in his pomp, yet without understanding,
    Is like the beasts that perish.

    Without understanding man is no different from beast. God is real. The atheist dishonors his conscious.

  27. iLove to eat the Word

    10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

    We all go all going leave behind everything that is temporal. Why did we try so hard to collect stuff in this life?

  28. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

    “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” -1 Corinthians 15:55
    The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. -1 Corinthians 15:56
    But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! -1 Corinthians 15:57

    Redeem my soul O Lord, out of the hand of the enemy!

    Death cannot intrude on the power of the Holy Ghost!

  29. Don’t be envious of your neighbor when they’re blessed. Rejoice with them! God could be testing you to reward you with a blessing!

  30. Stuff is just stuff

    So don’t be impressed with those who get rich and pile up fame and fortune. They can’t take it with them; fame and fortune all get left behind. Just when they think they’ve arrived and folks praise them because they’ve made good, They enter the family burial plot where they’ll never see sunshine again. (Psalm 49:16-19 MSG)

  31. This chapter shows of that we cannot buy salvation regardless to our status. God doesn’t choose us for what we have. We that are redeemed are bought with a price. #cherishsalvation

  32. 5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
    6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
    7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

    God sees every one the same. The status of a man is really nothing that makes a difference. He died for us all. The only salvation comes from Him.

  33. This chapter speaks about how your status really doesn’t impress God and you can’t buy yourself into heaven. We shouldn’t aspire or depend on earthly things; but, reach and stretch for Jesus. He is the my Redeemer.

  34. 15. But God Will redeem my soul
    from the power of the grave,
    for he shall receive me.

    In Spanish said : Because He will
    take me with Him.

    The rich and the poor will die.
    the good and the evil one will die.
    But we(who trust in Him and in His resurrection) we will
    live eternal with Him
    aleluya!

  35. Hear this 1. HEAR this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: 2. Both low and high, rich and poor, together. Ps. 62 : 9 3. My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. 4. I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. Ps. 78 : 2 5.Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about? 6. They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; 7. None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: 8. (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST !!!!
