Psalm 52

1  Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

  1. Trust in his mercy, in this alone has God saved through the redempted work of the cross. His word was made flesh and became manna (bread of life), unless we all eat and drink of him. There is no salvation, nor any other way unto the Father. No greater love than this, than a friend who laid his life down for a freind. “Remember the troops too, honor our disciple troops too”. Thank God not only for our fallen U.S. Military Troops but also our Christian Troops like Paul, Peter, John, Luke, Steven and so many more unto even today. Thank God for their example of an honorable life and deligent work for the Lord and the Gospel of salvation. Where would we be without their dedication and fire…………………….catch it!

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

    “Send up Praise”…………….

  2. Thank you Jesus…bless your Heart Lord.

I pray that I will look out for a righteous heart and not a lying heart. Because I don’t want to be plucked out and removed where I am desolate and no one to turn to, and where people laugh at me.
I pray that I will keep close to the Lord because he is the reason for the season.
Thank you for pastors and wife’s and ministers because they have the rule over us with Joy and tenderness to teach us. And sometimes it may be hard to listen but if we do remember this scripture which is in Hebrews 13- we will have a chance.
I thank you Lord for them.
Bless their heart for their guiding hand. To you Jesus.
Love you Jesus. Always will follow You Jesus.

    • Hebrews 13:17-
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves; for they watch for your souls, as they that must give an account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

  3. The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

  4. The Lord Shall Judge the Deceitful
    ·Evildoers Will Be Destroyed
    ·The Faithful Will Be Rewarded

Psalm 52:8,9 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in thee mercy of God for ever and ever.
I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
David, a righteous man, continued to flourish.

    His Mercy endureth forever !!

  5. 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

This is one of the greatest obstacle men faces. The pride of “I did it” or “I can do it all by myself”. I think that is the hardest things and it isn’t until tragedy strikes with something money can not fix, like health & death. No money will buy good health, nor life. Then men calls upon God or remembers that there is a God. We need to be like the olive tree depending on our God for everything and be thankful for all. Our statements should always be, “by God’s grace I was able to”, “God willing I will do this”. Change our minds and our hearts to do your will, your way Oh Lord! In Jesus Name AMEN

  6. 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Wake up with praise in your heart!

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. (Psalms 40:3 KJV)

  7. Vs. 2, “Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.”
Vs.3, “Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.”
Vs.4, “Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.”

Prov. 12:18a says, “There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword…”
Prov. 12:20a says, “Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil…”
Prov. 12:21b says, “… but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.”
Prov. 12:22a says, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord…”
James 3:6a says, “The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity:…”
James 3:8 says, “But the tongue can no man tame: it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”

This made me think of Pastor’s message yesterday when he said, “Don’t let anyone “puke” in your ear.” Put a STOP to their evil speakings. Don’t let garbage come in, because if you do, only garbage is going to come out.

My prayer today is Psalms 141:3-4 which says, “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth: keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.” But let me THINK and TALK about things that are true, things that are honest, things that are just, things that are pure, things that are lovely, and things that are of a good report. (Phil. 4:8)

Let’s talk about the Goodness of Jesus and all He has done for us!

  8. 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

This is the man that made not God his strength!
He boasts of his transgressions and makes himself strong in his wickedness!
Men that forget God are in trouble with God. Your life will never be the same after you meet God. You should always respect him and honor him by giving him praise.
We should never trust in our riches, they may be here today and gone tomorrow, but God will always be there, whether we have riches or not.
Your riches will not protect you from the devourer, nor give you strength.
Your wickedness will only make you more vulnerable to to the devourer and allow him to control your life.
Repent now and allow God to help you, overcome the enemy in your life.
    Even a lying tongue !!!!!!!!!

  9. 2. The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

    James 3:5-8 KJV
    5. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
    6. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
    7. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
    8. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

“Be careful little tongue what you say…” because your tongue can start a fire you can’t put out!

  10. The war stories

1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

I have a lot of friends that I used to get in trouble with. We would do dumb things and later tell the story of it and boast of our stupidness. I’m so glad and thankful that God delivered me out of that mess. He is my deliverer. We were all headed to prison or to the graveyard. A lot of those old friends either spent time in prison or are still there. I pray that God gets ahold of the like he did my friend Michael Morgan. I pray that God would show himself mighty in those prisons and deliver them out of those lifestyles.

  11. God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah (Psalms 52:5 NKJV)

*Just like he did to the devil. He fell like lightning cause he was so full if himself. Why love evil and want to live in darkness when all it brings is pain and hurt and doubt. Just when you think you got it made and nothing going to stop you from doing evil. And deceiving people. God will cast you down like your were nothing.

  12. 1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

Why be open and proud of dirty sin when we know the end is death. There is no sin worth boasting about. All sin is bad and there is not one worse than the other, they will all send us to hell. Let’s live righteously with a repenting heart if fear of our great and mighty God. No sin is worth being destroyed by God! Let’s not be proud of our sin because there is nothing to be proud about

  13. LIFE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

As we consider the comparison of the proud, devising, lying, evil loving heart and the humble, praising, loving heart, it is clearly communicated by the psalmist here the eternal value of living out LIFE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD.

While accusers and deceivers are searching for ways to bring down the righteous. The GOD fearing, GOD loving are trusting in the name of the LORD JESUS and growing stronger by the day.

    Like a GREEN OLIVE TREE!

David compared his good life to the evil life of the unrighteous.

But I, hunted and persecuted though I am, am like a green olive tree. I am not plucked up or destroyed, but am like a flourishing olive, which out of the rock draws oil, and amid the drought still lives and grows. In the house of God. He was one of the divine family, and could not be expelled from it; his place was near his God, and there was he safe and happy, despite all the machinations of his foes. He was bearing fruit, and would continue to do so when all his proud enemies were withered like branches lopped from the tree. I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. Eternal mercy is my present confidence. David knew God’s mercy to be eternal and perpetual, and in that he trusted. What a rock to build on! What a fortress to fly to!

The olive tree thrives in hard places, the olive tree is protected in the house of GOD, the olive tree produces fruit for food and anointing, the olive tree has great longevity. In summary the olive tree is blessed with long life and prosperity in the house of GOD.

Praise the name of the LORD JESUS for ever, it is his mercy that has granted us opportunity to live and not die, thrive instead of merely survive. Praise HIM today for the Blessing of HIS house and all that are in IT.

  14. iLove to eat the Word

4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

Amen. Can you imagine if God were to start plucking out folks tongues? “Hey, cat got your tongue…oh it was the Lord that plucked it out…sorry.” Kinda like when John was born.Luke 1:19 KJV And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

There would be a lot of dumb folk…or there would be a lot of quite folks…HA

  15. Why do you brag of evil, “Big Man”? God’s mercy carries the day. You scheme catastrophe; your tongue cuts razor-sharp, artisan in lies. You love evil more than good, you call black white. You love malicious gossip, you foul-mouth.

God will tear you limb from limb, sweep you up and throw you out, Pull you up by the roots from the land of life. (Psalm 52:1-5 MSG)

  16. The things and people of this world will fade and go away. I am going to put my trust and love in someone who is greater than this world and the things in it, Jesus! Thank you Lord for never leaving!

  17. 7. HERE IS THE MAN WHO DID NOT MAKE GOD HIS STRENGHT,
BUT TRUSTED IN THE ABUNDANCE OF HIS RICHES,
AND STRENTGHTENED HIMSELF IN HIS WICKEDNESS.
    8.BUT I AM LIKE A GREEN OLIVE TREE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD;
I TRUST IN THE MERCY OF GOD
    FOREVER AND EVER.

This verse reminds me of another verse in the bible:
some TRUST in chariots, and some in horses
BUT we will remember the name of the LORD OUR GOD.
Our trust is not only confined when we are in the house
of the Lord, it is in our daily living, problems, especially this area, because sometimes our source of resolution is ourselves, friends, contacts,
    doctors and ultimately GOD.
    ‘Thus says the Lord:
Cursed is the man who trusts in man, And makes flesh his strength.
Whose heart departs from the Lord.’ Jeremiah 17:5.

  18. “I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever”. One can trust in this world, or one can trust in God (Jesus). While both will produce an end result, only one choice is wise. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  19. 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Why do we think that we are stronger than God? Or that we know more than He does?
We have physical strength, but God if the one who created it. He gave us a mind to think, and a heart to feel. In today’s society ,we think that someone is strong by how much money they have. But as we read here. Monitory strength comes at a price.
In 1 Timothy 6:10 ,”For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. ” so what’s more important? Losing your life eternally, or the knowledge that your set for life and be misrible. Now don’t get me wrong. Having a good amount of money is good. In Ecc.10:19,”… But money answereth all things. “. In this life we need money to live. And I think He wants us to live. But it’s the love. This is why we must be carful how we love. When we say ,” I love….,or I love ….. “. Be mindful they we must live God. Then our strength will be much. Spiritually and physically.

  20. I have a hard time trusting on a man’s handshake or his word.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. (Psalms 52:8 KJV)

  21. v8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

The LORD desires that we depend on HIM fully at all times. HE knows that any other approach will only lead to emptiness and failure , as we read about doom of the wicked trusting in their own self-
    reliant ways.

  22. Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God? (Psalm 52:1 NIV)

Why do we relive things that are a disgrace? I hear people all the time thinking of “the glory days.” What are they glorifying? It’s defiantly not God. Jesus gets no glory from the ratel king of the stupid things we once did. The glory is when we tell of how he got us out. The difference would by why your telling and how long you tell it. If you go into every gory detail your probably not telling it for Jesus. If you tell the terrible part for thirty minutes and that Jesus saved you for like thirty seconds, not glorifying JESUS.

Self examiniation is not always easy. It is only when we really ask why that we can answer the hard questions. So, why do we boast of evil? Pride

  23. 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

We must keep our faith in the right place. The Lord blesses us, and I am sure he enjoys doing it. However if we are not careful we can allow the blessings to cloud our perception and forget who we are in him, and where he blessings came from.

God told a church in revelation that they had left their first love. We must never forget, and always go back to the start.

We love him because he first loved us!

  24. But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love. (Psalms 52:8 NLT)

At the house of God is where we hear the Word and Voice of God. His Word and Voice is what sustains us. We must eat this Book and hear His voice in prayer.

But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. (Psalms 1:2, 3 NLT)

  25. Today’s Atheist.

1 Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man?
The lovingkindness of God endures all day long
    (Psalms 52:1 NASBStr)

Many Atheist will mock God and want him to “prove” himself to them. Just as the Jews wanted Jesus to prove himself to them. God doesn’t have to prove himself to anyone. The fact that he exists is self evident.

    Consider the analogy below:

It is much more reasonable to believe that this publication had no printer than to believe that there is no God. Who in his right mind would ever believe that no one compiled its pages, no one produced the graphic art, and no one printed it. The publication happened by chance… from nothing. There was no paper, no ink, no cardboard, and no glue. The paper just came into being (from nothing), then trimmed itself into perfectly straight edges. All the words fell into place, forming coherent sentences, and then the graphic art appeared. The pages fell into numerical order, and finally the book bound itself.
The fact that there was a printer is axiomatic (self- evident), so it would be intellectually insulting to even begin to argue for the case of the printer’s existence. For the same reason, the Bible does not enter into the case for God’s existence. It simply begins by stating, “In the beginning God
    (Psalms 53:1 EvidenceBibleNotes)

God’s love gives people the choice to decide their own fate. Just because God doesn’t prove himself to some people, doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist. It is best to avoid conversations with atheist, especially the uneducated ones. Prayer is the only antidote for the offense of their conscious.

  26. Story Of The Olive

    Psalm 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The story of the olive is one of enduring in God. It is one of being planted by the rivers of God and abiding there that the fox would not make off with it’s fruit but it would remain fruitful even in times of drought. When we put our trust in God, to be planted in Him, we set ourselves up for victory no matter the season or circumstances.

    Isaiah 61:1-3
    1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

    2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

    Luke 4:17-19
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

  27. 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Traits of a self righteous person can be found in this chapter, someone who is proud and boastful, caught up in themselves.

We must heed the call of the Word and check our attitude and spirit, line up with His plumb line to see where we measure up. Should we be found wanting, we must repent, and begin fresh and new with a pure heart and right attitude.

  28. 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

    Celebrate the Name of JESUS!
Our praise shows what we trust and what we boast about. We can either be of two: the the one that puts Not thier trust in God and celebrates his riches and wicked ways and what he got away with, until the mighty hand of God plucks him out and shuts him up… Or we can be like the olive tree in the house of God. Trusting and praising in his name. The only name that brings salvation. The only name we can call upon on time of trouble, the name like no other name. Trusting in the name of The Lord I shall be as the olive tree planted by the river of living water with an infinite supply of everything I need..because I don’t trust in me, or what I can do or what I have I trust in God in his name of salvation. I trust that I can call on Him and he shall be there.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    I celebrate the name!!

“🎵No sweeter name than the name of Jesus, no sweeter name have I ever known!… JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! “🎶🎵

    Just say the name …

  29. THE TONGUE 1. WHY boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. 2. The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Ps. 50 : 19 3. Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Se’-lah. 4. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. 5. God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Se’-lah. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST !!!! I Love You Jesus Thank you for choosing me.

  30. I am beyond thankful for God’s mercy that he would save a wretch like me.

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
