Psalm 53

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

  1. Today’s Atheist – Continued

1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God,”
    They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice;
There is no one who does good.
    (Psalms 53:1 NASBStr)

Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “It takes no brains to be an atheist. Any stupid person can deny the existence of a supernatural power because man’s physical senses cannot detect it. But there cannot be ignored the influence of conscience, the respect we feel for the Moral Law, the mystery of first life… or the marvelous order in which the universe moves about us on this earth. All these evidence the handiwork of the beneficent Deity… That Deity is the God of the Bible and Jesus Christ, His Son.”

Fool is defined as a person who acts unwisely, a silly person. The rejection of Jesus’ existence violates Prov 9:10 and verifies Psalm 53:1. The absence of prayer in schools is highly correlated with the increase in violence in schools. The atheist movement has become one of intolerance. It is a self serving, humanist movement that is determined to undermine faith.

Most atheist that I know are advocates of String and M-theory. M-theory is a bunch of hypothetical assumptions based on a other findings in string theory. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_theory
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-theory

Many of the assumptions are untestable and unobservable. The same faith to believe in these theories is required of Christians. It is remarkable that they practice the same faith that they criticize us for.

  2. We are foolish to think that there is no God and that he will not judge our sin someday. But if we will humble ourselves before him he will forgive us and we will live eternally with him.

  3. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

Why is Gods heart for souls?

Just as the inventor takes pride in what he or she does. The same is so with God. He created all things. The first and only true inventor. To create everything from nothing. And we think were all that.
When parents have children. My observation is that they care and nurture them. They don’t want any harm to come to that child. The way that the child is brought up, is mostly expected of them when they become adults.
Now how do we think that our Heavenly Father sees this? Do we think that turns a blind eye to our sin? Since He created us to worship him and have a relationship with Him. He expects us to live for Him. To be His child. A child of the One True Living God.

  4. iLove to eat the Word

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

***Today’s question is, “How do we seek God.” According to this scripture, God is looking for someone that understands and for someone that is seeking Him. The key to finding Him is found in the way that we seek Him.

    seek #H1875
    דּרשׁ
    dârash
    daw-rash’
A primitive root; properly to tread or frequent; usually to follow (for pursuit or search); by implication to seek or ask; specifically to worship: – ask, X at all, care for, X diligently, inquire, make inquisition, [necro-] mancer, question, require, search, seek [for, out], X surely.

Worship is how we seek God. John 4:23-24 KJV But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Once again in this scripture, we find that God is looking for a true worshipper.

2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

The Lord is searching for those who are searching for him. The way that we search and find is to worship Him. Everyday we must ask ourselves the question, “Am I truly worshipping God today?”

  5. 4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God. KJV

4 Don’t they know anything, all these impostors? Don’t they know they can’t get away with this, treating people like a fast-food meal over which they’re too busy to pray? MSG

It seems trivial but praying over food is important to me. Passing this burden on to my children has proved to be challenging. We have always prayed over our food and will continue. However, they seem to lack the determination and/or appreciation for the food. There have been times in my life where I “appeared” to not be hungry to allow the children and wife to eat because there was not enough to go around.

Richard Nixon knew; “Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.”

  6. 6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

These people had forgot God and it now shows in their walk and talk. If we do not think about God continually in our hearts, we will forget him and all his works. The fool will actually say in his heart, there is no God, how foolish can we be?
God says: when I bring back the captivity of these people, not if but when! After I bring captivity they will rejoice and be glad. Something will make these people see God for who he is.

  7. WOE ….to unbelievers.

    4/
Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who east up my people as they eat bread; they have not called upon God.

I have to watch out sometimes about unbelievers because some times they want to lure you back into sin. And I have to be strong enouph to speak the Word to them and why.
I love them as the Lord Jesus does but as I have to for a Holy Ghost Jesus Name believer I have to follow God .
What a wonder we have in Jesus….

  8. TEMPORARY INSANITY

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

I thought today how often even the strongest believers falls into the trap of foolishness. We know from the WORD of GOD that the heart is not pure on its own.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Consider how often we are tempted to say in our heart there is no GOD.

    When we sin willfully
    When we doubt a promise
When we believe or tell a lie
When we lust over this world
    When we rebel towards authority
When we speak, negative, unkind words
When we speak evil against someone
    When we falsely accuse
    When we lie
When we rob GOD in tithe and offering
When we do not praise and worship JESUS
When we fail to pray about anything
    When we boast of accomplishment

The list could continue, prayerfully we get the message today that it is possible to say there is no GOD without saying the words “There is no God.”

We are eternally wise to consider not only every word spoken, but also every move we make, every action executed.

I believe this to be a prophetic word of revelation to someone today. I encourage us to receive this word, repent of previous actions and prayerfully consider every word and act for the balance of our time on earth, that we never say with word or deed that “There is no God.”

But our words and deeds will declare boldly “There is ONE GOD and HIS name is JESUS!”

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

  9. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

I don’t know which one is more foolish. The one that says there is no God or the one that knows there is a God but acts like there is none.

  10. 1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

    Psalm 14:1 KJV
    1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

This whole chapter is almost an exact copy of chapter 14…whatever prompted him to write these words the first time was still on his mind or possibly occurred again.
When we are facing something we have faced before, it’s wise to remember what helped us through it the first time; a certain scripture, song, or perhaps prayer with a friend that already has victory over that situation. Just remember there is a God and He loves you and wants to help you if you will just ask Him to.

  11. Psalm 53:6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

God designed salvation to be available to all. In acts 2:39 it says that the promise is to as many as The Lord our God shall call.

But how can he call them if we don’t get them a telephone?

    2 Corinthians 4:3
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

The gospel is carried by the vehicle known as the church. The only way the world can know is of we tell them.

O that salvation were come out of Zion! Zion is the church and it is up to US to go into all the world TEACHING THEM baptizing them in the NAME.

    Romans 10:14-15
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

People are waiting. Not for an invitation, or for a flyer. People are waiting for the church to show them the gospel, to show them salvation. When that happens they will come to the building.

Could it be that the church needs to go to the lost before the lost come to the church?

  12. Victory Party

6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

    Psalm 30:11-12
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Joy is coming. No matter the circumstance, gladness is on it’s way and our joy can break forth even now as we stand on the promises of God. The lie of the enemy tells us our promised victory celebration cannot spill over into our current situation and we have to wait to cast off that spirit of heaviness and take up the garment of praise. But just as we can trust with *now* faith in the promises of God, we can *now* begin praising Him and rejoicing in His promised help despite our current circumstances. The victory party begins as soon as our faith steps up to tell that mountain to move.

    Mark 11:22-24
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

  13. NLT – 2 God looks down from heaven on the entire human race;
he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.

This is a sad day for God. The creator of humans, peers over heaven to see that none of His creation seeks after Him. The whole purpose of creation was so that He would have relationship with people that would love Him, follow Him, seek after Him to do His will.

    Revelation 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

We must remember our creator at all times and the purpose that we were created.

  14. The fool has said in his heart, “ There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good. (Psalms 53:1 NKJV)

*The fools say there is no God. They are corrupt in the head. They don’t see that their is salvation. None of them does any good they have no good planned.

    They have been blinded.

We have to reach the blind. The lost that can not see or have not seen the light yet. Help me God let me see that they are blind and crying for help.

  15. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

If this were to happen again I pray god would see me. Don’t let me be mixed in with the fools who don’t believe because of my foolish behavior. Lord I need you and I want to be like you, help me Lord to set myself apart from the workers of iniquity so that when you look down you would see me, your servant

    • I want to seek you Lord above all things, help me set the cares of this life and this world aside and make me to be kingdom minded in Jesus name %100 sold out to Jesus

  16. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

God is searching for people who are searching for Him, for those who are truly seeking after Him. We must be holy and separated from this world so if God looks down He doesn’t have to question where we went but instantly see where His children are and the good that we are doing in His name.

  17. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

    You must seek The Lord!

The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. (Psalms 69:32 KJV)

  18. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Psalms 53:3 KJV)

I’m thankful for Calvary. It’s His blood that has been applied to our lives that makes us clean and free from sin.

But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26 NLT)

  19. v3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good , no,not one.

Thank you JESUS for your righteousness whose Holy Spirit we have. HE has clothed us in HIS own RIGHTEOUNESS by
    HIS SPIRIT.
This confidence we have in JESUS is rooted
in truth….. The Word Of GOD.

We are strangers and pilgrims just passing through. Let us not adopt the ways of this world, but represent CHRIST.

I am victorious through CHRIST JESUS!

    iRepent

  20. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

We would be wise to not be caught in this situation. Everyday he remembers us and looks down searching for him who searches or seeks after him. If he was to come today what will he see us doing, in our actions and in our words..? We must not fool ourselves and think that He is not there at all hours of the day everyday.

  21. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

God is watching everything that we do, we may think no one sees us when we do evil but our creator sees us.
He also sees when we are serving Him with a clean heart, worshiping Him ,doing all we can for the kingdom of God !!
Serving God with everything you got makes you VICTORIOUS over all that the enemy can throw at you!!

  22. There have been times I thought I was totally alone and could do what I wanted because nobody would see me. I immediately felt conviction because there are always eyes watching. People looking at you to learn your religious ways, mentors looking out for you or the one who sees all, God. No matter how far we think we get away from God He always sees. Jonah was in the belly of a whale at the bottom of the ocean and God could still see him.
Thank you Jesus for your protecting eyes!

  23. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
It amazes me but shouldn’t that people you have seen grow up in the church and today they are living a carefree life. Saying its okay to wear pants, makeup and cut your hair. Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. The scriputures are the same they only change by what you READ and ADD or TAKE AWAY!!!
God help us that we don’t fall in the trap of believing a lie and being lost.

  24. The Fool 1. THE fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 4. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they bread: they have not called upon God. Jer. 4 : 22 5. There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them. Lev. 26 : 17 I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS Jesus you are my defender, provider, healer, redeemer, and my deliverer.

  25. “There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them”. If one will serve the Lord (Jesus), and do what is right, one will have nothing to fear. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  26. He still is the MOST HIGH, and still looks down………Does any understand, and does any seek God? Many today are looking in the wrong direction, and we as the body of Christ Jesus need to direct them to the Cross.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

    “Matthew 7:7″…………………………………….

  27. Vs.1, “THE fool ( a person with little or no judgment, common sense, wisdom, etc.; silly person; simpleton) hath said in his heart, There is no God…”
Vs.2, “God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.”

Prov. 2:2-5 says, “So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge; and lift up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shall thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”

We need wisdom and understanding. Why? so that we can know what the fear of the Lord is, and be aware of and know for a fact, who God is.
So what is the fear of the Lord? Prov.9:10a says, “The fear of the LORD is… the beginning of wisdom.” Prov.8:13a says, “The fear of the LORD is… to hate evil.”
So what is the knowledge of God? Prov.9:10b says, “… and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” But 1 Cor.15:34 says, “Awake to righteousness and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.”

So why did God look down from heaven to see if there was anyone with understanding, or who sought Him? Because the only way to get understanding is to search for God, and when we find Him, we find understanding. The reason the fool has said in his heart, “there is no God,” is because he lacks understanding because he doesn’t acknowledge God or search for Him.

I am so THANKFUL that I know who JESUS is!!

  28. 2-3
human beings measure themselfs against one another and deal with grades of good and bad . The writer reflects Gods view that all mankind is depraved. Measured against God rather than against one another there is no one that does good.

  29. 4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

In this verse we see that “workers” of iniquity are just as foolish, no knowledge, or unlearned as those that say there is no God.

“Men’s bad practices flow from their bad principles; if they profess to know God, yet in works, because in thoughts, they deny him”

  30. So many people choose to live like there is no God even though they say they believe in Him. If people could fully comprehend or receive the revelation of just who God is they would choose not to deny Him with their lifestyle. Standing in His presence changes everything.

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

  31. 1.The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity:
there is none that doeth good.

    What does your heart say?

If the fool says in his heart that there is no God, what does your heart say?
The Word tells us that Jesus said that if we love him, we’ll obey his commands. If we do not obey, we say that His word is either untrue, or we just simply don’t care. Either way we play god, and tell Jesus that we don’t need him.
When tell Jesus that we don’t need him, we become as Proverbs puts it, a fool. Could it be that we become the same fool that claim that there is no God???

  32. Why does David write this? We gave to look at who he is writing to. He is writing to the chief musician, that is like the Sister Watts of his church. Possibly he is telling the head musician so that they can the musician can play some music that will help the people to repent. Maybe the music will make them recommit to The Lord and tell of his glory and mighty right hand. Lord let us all turn to you and seek you diligently.

  33. Psalm 53

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: -Matthew 15:19

Our actions testify of who and what we believe. You can’t hide what’s in your heart.

  34. Psalm 53
    A Portrait of theGodless

53:3 Everyone of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

  35. The silence in heaven

5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

People walk around acting like God doesn’t exist. They are all living it up, so they think, until God shows up one day and crashes the party. Look at Sodom and Gamora . There wake up call was a fire bath. God hates sin and one day his mercy will cease and he will judge it.

    Revelation 8:1
And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

I believe this is what David is seeing. People that don’t believe in all this will have a bad surprise when Gods fury is so terrible that even heaven goes quiet. All those that walk around with no fear will be eternally frightened.

Jesus help us reach them before you come back. amen

  36. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

How can there be any understanding of God without first seeking him? When we are in the act of seeking him, we do it with our hearts & minds open. When we are open to him, we can receive whatever he desires to impart to us whether it’s wisdom, instruction, knowledge or correction. He promises that he will reward those that diligently seek him. I seek, I ask & I knock and he does hear my petition.

  37. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
When I look at God’s creation and his beauty I ask myself how can anyone believe there is not a God? How can anyone feel it was all a coincidence and it was not created? I thank God for the revelation of who he is song says “my God is real for I can feel him in my heart”

  38. God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. (Psalm 53:2 NIV)

seeking God is to build a relationship with Him; building a connection that not everyone will comprehend because it shifts from an ordinary bond into an intimate one..by building that relationship you will understand many new things and grow deeper in Him. We build our relationship with Jesus by praise and worship, studying, praying and fasting…

  39. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

People use this saying today! “There is no God” So that they can continue to live as they please. Let something go wrong in their life and they believe again. Until God does not answer their prayer when they want it.

Lord I do not want to be this person. I know that you are there and I want you to be apart of my life everyday and every minute. Amen

  40. Don’t they know anything, all these impostors? Don’t they know they can’t get away with this, Treating people like a fast-food meal over which they’re too busy to pray? (Psalm 53:4 MSG)

  41. psalm 53
6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
The gathering of Israel started in 1948 from that time on The tribes of Israel have slowly began arriving back to their God given home land.
