  1. vss. 1-2 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength .

v2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

    A Cry For Help!
Save me, judge me and hear me by thy name. There’s just something about believing in HIS NAME. HIS NAME IS
above every name and the Name
Of JESUS IS THE NAME OF
THE FATHER AND THE HOLY GHOST.

HE IS FAITHFUL in hearing and coming to our aid. It’s no wonder the Psalamist
rejoiced he believe in HIS NAME and he knew HIS NAME that comes through relationship .

v6. I will freely sacrifice unto thee:
I will praise thy name, O LORD; for
    it is good .

GOD’s Love is ever present towards us.
This should cause us to love and Praise HIM even more, and love those that are in trouble and afraid.
Love one another as CHRIST loves us.

  2. Vs 1 there is only one that can save us and that is Jesus. We must be diligent to tell the world of the saving power in the name of God, Jesus.

  3. 1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

    Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    JESUS

This Psalm is so amazing for the following reason, David composes this song of Praise immediately following a great betrayal. You might ask, “Brother Morgan, how knowest thou this…” And I would answer, “I’m glad you asked.”

The way I know that this Psalm was written in the account of great betrayal is, some but not all, Bibles have the titles of chapters of the Psalms. The title of the Psalm today is, “Psalms 54:1 KJV To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.”

This passage of scripture is found in the following place

1 Samuel 23:19 “But now the men of Ziph went to Saul in Gibeah and betrayed David to him. “We know where David is hiding,” they said. “He is in the strongholds of Horesh on the hill of Hakilah, which is in the southern part of Jeshimon.”

The amazing thing is that even though David was betrayed and was almost caught by Saul, David wrote an amazing Psalm of praise and worship to God. He also chooses to let God avenge him instead of trying to avenge himself. This is a great example of a great attitude of praise and worship…even if the world is against you, God still deserves the praise!

  5. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

What a great helper, the Lord God will always help us when we allow him to be God in our lives. God is concerned about his people, he will even be with those that uphold us.
Thank God for his great power to help us everyday.

  6. Bless YouLord….

It sure is nice when I’m sleeping then wake up and think about Pofw.

I pray to Jesus no matter where I am in life.

    Proverbs17:17-
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
    Thank you my Savior Jesus.

      • Genesis 22:17-18
That in blessing I will bless thee, And in multiplying I will multyply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall process the gate of his enemies; 18/ and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Thank you for Your Words Lord.

  7. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
Uphold – to support or defend (something, such as a law)
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Praise God for He will uphold our soul in our time of need. Thank you Jesus!!!!!

  8. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

I’m so thankful that God is my helper and help in the time of need. Reminds me of the song:
I go to the rock of my salvation
go to the stone that the builders rejected
go to the mountain and the mountain stand by me
when the earth all around me is sinking sand on Christ the
solid rock I stand when i need a shelter when i need a friend
    I go to the rock!!!!

  9. Partnered with Jesus

    Psalms 54:4
Behold, God is my helper and ally; the Lord is my upholder and is with them who uphold my life.

In school we used something called the buddy system. Whenever we would go on a field trip we always had to have someone that we went with. This would help to ensure nobody got lost, and everyone was accounted for.

The word tells us that we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
    Proverbs 18:24

His name is Jesus, and he created everything.

He said he would be with us til the end of the world
    Matthew 28:20

One night as I prepared to lead song service I was feeling pretty nervous. I started imagining all the things that could happen, or could go wrong. Then the Holy Ghost whispered in my ear “you’re not alone. I am with you.” Then in my mind’s eye I saw that when I went up there to sing it wasn’t just me up there but me and Jesus together!

When we pray “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” what we are really saying is ‘God today I am partnering together with you to fulfill your will’.

No matter what we are doing, if we are working to fulfill his will he is working with us, and he has all the power in the universe!

    Mark 16:20
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

  10. Blueprint for victory.
    Request: Save me
    Introduce Power: by thy name
    Details: strangers are against me
Claim the Victory: God is mine helper
Praise ahead of victory: 6-7 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

It is very easy to tell someone “It will be ok, allow the Lord to work.” However, when we find ourselves in the midst of battle, keeping it simple is sometimes more than we can remember. If we as children of God see our fellow brothers and sisters in the midst of a battle; let’s not walk past, let’s encourage. Remind them the Lord has all power and satan is a liar!

  11. MY HELPER

4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

From the position of calamity in the place of obscurity in the face of opposition, David refused to quit or give up. He faithfully confessed “I AM VICTORIOUS” through my LORD.

David faithfully identified his HELP (the LORD). It is great revelation when we receive revelation that the people we tell our pains and problems to, most often can do nothing about them. But, the LORD of glory is able to do exceeding, abundantly above that we are able to ask or think.

Psalms 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

    JESUS is my HELP.

David is so confident in the HELP of the LORD that he proclaims the LORD with them that uphold (support or encourage) his soul, through prayer, serving, defending, etc. David realizes that HELP will come through other people. The LORD is with them that uphold my soul. We are wise to foster many relationships of positive influence as we never know when one will be able to HELP us.

    iPraise
    iPray

    iGive

  12. I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.
For He has delivered me out of all trouble; And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies. (Psalms 54:6, 7 NKJV)

*Why fret about a bad situation. If you seek God in everything you do. Then you already know he gots your back. So just praise him in everything…praise him!!!and know and trust that Jesus will lead you and bring you out. You just have to trust and have faith.

Just like Peter he trusted and wanted to go farther. So he had faith and step into the sea and walked on water.

    Jesus had his back.
    Jesus has our back.
    Jesus has your back.

That’s the way I see this scripture.

Your are VICTORIOURS in Jesus name.

  13. 7 For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies. (NLT)

I am victorious through Him! Thank you Jesus!

  14. 6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

I will freely sacrifice unto you Lord. There is nothing too big or too important to me that I won’t sacrifice, you gave your life for me so who am I to keep anything from you. It’s not too much for me to sacrifice the things I love, to prove to you how much I really love you God. You are more important to me because when this life is gone you will be all that is left. Why hold on to earthly things and neglect the only one who is eternal. You Lord are so much greater than anything I have or anything I’m going through.. I will sacrifice with a joyful heart and praise you through my situation. Nothing I hold on to could ever deliver me out of trouble the way that you did, nothing I could hold on to is worth it. Only you are worth it Jesus, you’re all I need and I will give all that you require me.

  15. 7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

    I am victorious!!

  16. 6 I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O Lord,
for it is good. 7 For you have rescued me from my troubles
and helped me to triumph over my enemies.

It it one thing to praise and worship in a service collectively as a body of believers, but when we personally pour out of ourselves a voluntary sacrificially offering of praise to the Lord it means so much more. It’s like the widow that gave all she had. It got the attention of the Lord. I remember speaking with Sis. Chennault a few years back about fasting and sacrificing. She said somedays when it’s hot and she is dry and thirsty, she would go to the sink, draw a cold glass of water, and pour it out before the Lord. She would tell the Lord, I’m hot and thirsty Lord, but I offer this glass of water as a sacrifice unto you. I want to be so sensitive to the spirit of God, that I give of myself in such a manner. Nothing I could ever give God could repay Him for all He’s done in my life and for me.

  17. Vs.1, “SAVE me, O God, by thy name…”
Vs.4, “Behold, God is mine helper…”
Vs.7, “For he hath delivered me out of all trouble…”

When I cry out the Name of JESUS, he hears me. He helps me and delivers me.
Thank you JESUS for being my helper and deliverer!

Therefore, “I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.” (Vs.6)

  18. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies. (Psalms 54:7 KJV)

My enemies watch out my God has His Eyes on you. And I’m coming out of my troubles and I’m coming out with a vengeance. I am free by the sound off his name JESUS.

  19. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Just say the name of Jesus. He is our helper in time of need. He is my provider. He is the one who takes away pain. He is the altogether lovely. He is The Lord.

  20. 4. Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. Ps. 118 : 7 5. He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. 6. I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. Ps. 52 : 9 7. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies. I AM VICTORIOUS YES I AM THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!! Thank you Jesus, for providing a place to hide me from mine enemies, and to keep me safe from harm. Glory to your name a name above all names I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!!

  21. 6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

Praise on all kinds of trouble. The fact that the psalmist was faced with many and fiver ese troubles did not change his attitude towards God. He still praised God and remained faithful believing that The Lord can and will deliver him. And we find here out of “All” trouble. Praise be to God that he is great and mighty!

  22. I’ve been through the battle of believing I had nobody there for me. There was a time I was okay to be alone even though that’s not like me. I would pray and ask God to send me friends but I would reject them when God would send them. I finally came to the realization that God is there for me and so are my friends! I have friends that are there for me!
Thank you Jesus for being a friend and allowing me to see the friendships I’m blessed with.

  23. But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive!

For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies. (Psalms 54:4, 7 NLT)
Lord when the enemy has come against me, you are there to protect me!!!

But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. (Psalms 3:3 NLT)

  24. 1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.

4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

  25. Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. (Psalms 54:4 KJV)

Why should I worry or fret. When I think of all He’s done for me and He’s faithfulness. Jesus is my Help.

In my distress I prayed to the LORD, and the LORD answered me and set me free. The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Yes, the LORD is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me. (Psalms 118:5-7 NLT)

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:6 KJV)

  26. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

True Gid is my helper he has helped me ALOT . Thanks God for your help

  27. “Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength”. One must be open with God (Jesus), obey the word of the Lord, and one will be delivered. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  28. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

    My Deliverer!

IT is encouraging to know that in the time of trouble he will be our deliverer.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

    Psalm 27:5

  29. Psalm 54

1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

His name is a strong tower. I can run into it and find safety.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. -Proverbs 18:10

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. -Colossians 3:17

No other name like the name of Jesus.

  30. 5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.

Watch out devil Gods got my back and Im breaking out!

  31. Praise when in peril

Although David is being pursued by his enemies he is buoyed by the confidence that God is helping him.

  32. Partners in Prayer/Uplifting Pastor’s Hands

4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

PPF has been in operation for some time now. It works hard to encourage and uplift Pastor and Sister Watts. We work as a unified team to uphold Pastor and his vision in the church. Our goal is to stove to be like Aaron who upheld the arms of Moses.

At the same time we should have a personal friend that you are upholding or who might be upholding you. We are to encourage each other in Christ.

  33. My Help

4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

    Helper ‘āzar
It means to support, to give material or nonmaterial encouragement to a person.

God encourages us when we are in surrounded by the enemy. He can encourage us through his word, others, and in prayer.
It is important that we encourage others and positions ourselves to be a blessing rather than curse. Consider Job’s wife: His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” (Job 2:9, NIV) She was not being an encourager to Job.

Satan is the accuser, (Job 2:1) we do not need to do his job for him. We need to allow ourselves to be used of God to help others. A smile, a “Jesus loves you,” a “I prayed for you today,” anything positive can be an encouragement.

  34. Unity

    Psalm 54:4 AMP
Behold, God is my helper and ally; the Lord is my upholder and is with them who uphold my life.

    Ephesians 4:11-16
    11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

    14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

I found v4 of this Psalm very interesting in that it says, “the Lord … is with them who uphold my life.” Unity in the Body of Christ is God’s will; why not expect God to be with us when we are promoting His will? When we reach to help a brother or sister and work to promote unity rather than discord, we can see the beauty of unity in the Body blossom. God gave the five-fold ministry to help us both individually and corporately grow up in Christ to the fulfillment of His vision for the church *in unity.* When we are working towards unity in the church, ultimately we are working towards unity together in Christ. And God has blessing for unity:

    Psalm 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

    2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

  35. Psalm 54: 1-5
David prays for deliverance from his oppressors, expresses his confidence in being heard, and promises his thanksgiving upon deliverance.

The Lord is My Helper !!!!

  36. Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. (Psalm 54:4 NIV)

God will make a way when everything seems to fail, trust in Him to guide and help you. Look to Him before you talk to others, prayer can do more than we can.
