Psalm 86

1 Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.

2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

6 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.

17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

  3. 3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

Communication is a daily relationship. We talk to friends, coworkers, and family daily; so why shouldn’t we talk to our Lord daily? A relationship to be preserve must be taken care on the daily bases. Even animals must be taken care every day. For us to know what God’s purpose in our lives is, we must be on a daily bases relationship with Him. Psalm 88:9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

  4. 9. All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

    10. For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

David knew that the One who created the nations was the same One that carried the precious Name that all would worship and that He was God alone.

    Philippians 2:10-11 KJV
    10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

    11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  5. iLove to eat the Word

Psalms 86:17 KJV Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

    “We need a Miracle”

The word “token” in this scripture is the following word in the Hebrew:

    token H226
    אות
Probably from H225 (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc.: – mark, miracle, (en-) sign, token.

David was very bold in asking God for a miracle and we should be too. Miracles are slaps in the face of the enemy. BOOM!

  6. Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. (Psalms 86:2, 3 NLT)
I’m thankful , that I serve THE LORD, which hears my prayers and answers them according to His will. It is in Him that i put my trust in, and know that He will hide me under the shadow of His wings!

  7. v15 But, O LORD, art a God full of compassion, and gracious , longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Although we may not understand the storms of life or even the reasons Why? they come, GOD WILL direct us through them if we trust and acknowledge HIM

HE ALONE IS GOD and JESUS IS HIS NAME

  9. Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. (Psalms 86:2 NLT)

*you are my God I know that you do nothing but good and you have a plan that’s destined for me. I will put all my trust in you even tho I’m worried about the outcome and the way it’s going to be planned out. I put my trust in you I’m walking by faith. You are God.
    Take control.

Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. (Psalms 86:11 NLT)

I wanna be everything about you I want to be filled with your knowledge and wisdom. Teach me God to have a clean heart. So I can spread the truth. I want to honor you God in the way I live my life everyday. I want to do your works. You only know God how I feel.

  10. 5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

God is good and his mercy endureth forever, what an awesome God we serve. The Lord has extended his hand of grace and mercy to us and it is up to us to reach out and take advantage of this. The Psalmist David knew what it meant to fear God and call upon his name. Notice some of the things he said and how he responded with God.
    1. Hear my prayer
    2. I will cal upon thee
    3. God will answer ( What a positive attitude if I pray God will answer)
    4. There is non like thee No God like our God.
    5. Neither are there any works like thy works Nobody can do it like my God
    6. All nations shall worship thee
    7. And Glorify thy Name (JESUS)
    8. God is great God
    9. God does great things
    10. There is but one God (Thou art God alone)

What a mighty God we serve!! I am glad for the name of Jesus that we have to attend unto. The Name is important, whatsoever we do in word or deed we should do in that name (JESUS CHRIST).

  11. “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” The Lord (Jesus) is quick to forgive, and show mercy too one that will ask. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  12. Whole-Hearted

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

    Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

A heart divided will be pulled back and forth in instability, but a heart united can follow after purpose. Jeremiah 29 speaks of a whole-hearted search for God being one that will tap into the blessings and promises that God has for us as we find *Him.* Simply chasing after dreams, even dreams given by God, will scatter our heart as we go here and there with our nose to the ground trying to catch the scent of the dream like a hound dog. Chasing after God, on the other hand, focuses our heart and allows for all He has for us to come into our life without dividing us as we turn to pursue those other things. Yes we will likely have to strive and spend time on our be knees in prayer and time on our feet in labor as we participate in the process of the dream, but all of that is to come along the path of running after God as ultimately it is only God who can bring a God-dream to pass.

  13. Bitter Herbs

5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

In the temple, the altar of incense represents prayer, and worship to God. One of the ingredients of the incense is Myrh. The word Myrh comes from the Hebrew word marrah, or bitterness.

In Exodus the Passover lamb was to be eaten with bitter herbs. This bitterness reminded them, and us today of the deliverance God has brought from the bitter slavery we were once in.

God is ready to forgive, but let us never take this for granted. When we mess up we should remember the bitter things we used to live in and run to him immediately.

  14. GOD IS GOOD

5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Knowing of the Mercy of GOD is the richest source of joy for any soul. Knowing the GOD of Mercy is the richest source of LIFE for in soul.

GOD is looking for opportunity to receive a repentant soul into his care and Kingdom. He NOW is ready to forgive a us as we call upon HIS great name. Understanding that the simple act of calling on or saying the name of JESUS invokes his attention and invites HIS mercy on us.

Regardless of our past today we are encouraged to call on JESUS. He is the ONE with whom we have to do, HE alone is GOD, HE alone is eternal judge.

  15. “Teach Me Thy Way, O Lord”

    God’s Readiness to Forgive

Psalm 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Thank God for His gracious attributes.

  16. 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Teach me Lord! I praise You!

  17. Teach us Lord Jesus, “Word made Flesh”, help us walk upon your word, thine word is an lamp unto my feet, and a light unto thy path. “Light it Up, Lord Jesus”, and guide our steps unto your way. I will praise the Lord with all my heart, and love you with my whole heart. Let thy adopted Son give you all the Glory Lord Jesus, and all the Glory is yours, and yours alone. Not Mine! “I Love You, you are my “Dad”. Deliver us from all our enemies, and I pray for them, for their salvation and blessings be upon them as well. That they too can experience your glorious presence and know God is “LOVE”, and he loves them too. Amen & Amen…………….”Save Lord Jesus”……….

17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

  18. Teach me

    11 Teach me Your way, O Lord;
    I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
    (Psalms 86:11 NASBStr)

Amen, teach me your way Lord. Everyday I realize how little I know, and how frail I am. I need his instruction to walk in his truth. It is crucial that we walk in the Spirit, that will help us avoid the pitfalls the enemy sets before us.
I need God to unite my heart to reverence Him, otherwise I myself could become a cast away.

  19. 13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell

I’m am amazed at the mercy and have of God in our lives. I am amazed at how He lives us. not only does God show us great mercy but he lifts us up from them depths of the lowest parts of hell and sets our feet on the rock!

  20. 16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.

He will give us strength when we need it. He will not put more on is than we can bear. It when we serve hum with our full hearts that he can use us the way he sees fit. I want to be used by God for his kingdom.

  21. 3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

Here I am in your presence Lord. I want to be with you. Lord, my soul is here and ready to be filled with you and your salvation for I am your Servant

  22. Verses 11-12 AMP “Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honor Your name. I will confess and praise You, O Lord my God, with my whole (united) heart; and I will glorify Your name forevermore.” Seeking the Lord’s direction for your life is the best mapquest you could search for.

  23. 5 For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our trespasses, sending them away, letting them go completely and forever]; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You.

Thy loving kindness is better than life. You Oh Lord are ready willing and able to forgive and set us free from our past trespasses and set our feet on the path to abundant blessing.

  24. 4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

Thanks you fir hearing my prayers Lord

  25. 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

Evrry verse in this chapter is good. But being teachable at every stage of life is critical. I pray that I never am satisfied with what I know about God & his word. I pray that I am always teachable! The more I learn the more I love, respect & honor thr mighty God.

  26. 15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Can we really understand the immense love of God? The term, “to die for” is cheaply used. The only one who whole-heratedly did such an act is our Lord Jesus. He saw me, and the rest of humanity and said that we are worth dying for. Many people in the world are out there looking for love getting into relationships. They feel that an imperfect, also hurt and wounded, human being is gonna feel that gap in their hearts. No matter what they do, the only love that is long-suffering, patient, full of mercy and grace, full of love, is one repentance away. And all one has to do, is wake up and feel the void, the emptiness, and say enough, and call on God; cry out to Him. Sometimes I wonder what The Lord thinks if us daily. How we want this, we want that, but what we really need is His compassionate love.

  27. 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

The enemy would have us think that by our own intellect that we have it all figured out but Jesus gave us the example of gown much we need him in his prayer.

    Matthew 26:
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt].

Jesus was showing us to lean on God through the battle. He taught us to always keep a teachable spirit and pray before every major decision.

Help me Lord to always maintain a teachable spirit and learn to lean on you the all knowing God. Amen
