Psalm 101

1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

a little white lie can cause you to spend eternity in hell. Watch the words that come out of your mouth they have the power to kill you also not just someone else.

  2. 6. My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me. NIV

Be careful who you let ‘minister’ to you. If they are not under authority, they have no authority. Remember, some people are in your life for a blessin’, others are there for a lesson…make sure you know the difference.

      Deuteronomy 13 (ESV)

1 “If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. 5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil[a] from your midst.

6 “If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter or the wife you embrace[b] or your friend who is as your own soul entices you secretly, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which neither you nor your fathers have known, 7 some of the gods of the peoples who are around you, whether near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth to the other, 8 you shall not yield to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him. 9 But you shall kill him. Your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10 You shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 11 And all Israel shall hear and fear and never again do any such wickedness as this among you.

  3. Right!!!
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
The eyes!!! What you watch, out in public WATCH OUT!!! not to BECOME BOUND BY ALL THE NECKADNESS AND DARKNESS THAT SURROUNDS US!!! THAT PERSON MIGHT JUST BE LOOKING FOR A CHURCH (LOVE, MERCY, KINDNESS. JESUS IN US!!!) Let us WATCH!!! HALELUJAH!!! I PRAISE YOU AND ONLY YOU JESUS!!!

  4. iLove to eat the Word

Psalms 101:3 KJV I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

The definition of the word “wicked” is as follows:
    H1100
    בּליּעל
    belı̂ya‛al
    bel-e-yah’-al
From H1097 and H3276; without profit, worthlessness; by extension destruction, wickedness (often in connection with H376, H802, H1121, etc.): – Belial, evil, naughty, ungodly (men), wicked.

The Psalmist is telling us that he refuses to put any worthless things before his eyes. I guess a fair question would be…WWDW. What would David watch?

Oh and by the way, the one day that David watched a “Soap” is the day that cost him the most. He broke his own Psalm and set up the big screen in front of his eyes. As the cameras rolled, he filmed “Bathsheba” in his mind and the rest was history. Out of that film, much drama unfolded and his entire family, as well as those in the kingdom, were affected and punished.

Let’s do ourselves and our families a favor and remove all wickedness from before our eyes.

  5. Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD. (‭Psalms‬ ‭101‬:‭8‬ NKJV)

Ohh God let me be in your righteous side. Let me not be apart of the wicked I want to live and walk by you. I will walk in your glory. I will not allow myself to be apart of evil and the wickedness of this world. I want nothing to do with them!

I ain’t the same no more.

  6. I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. (‭Psalms‬ ‭101‬:‭3-5‬ NLT)
    AMEN,AMEN,AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
I need to make sure that my heart is in right standing with the one who holds my life in His hand, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
I must make sure that in all things that I do, I do what is right. In every Christians life there should be a turning away to what The Lord hates. Especially once you’ve expirenced being born again of the water and of the Spirit! As it is said In proverbs 16:3:
Commit your works to The Lord, and your thoughts will be established. My thoughts have a lot to do in how and what I am, and in how I live My life( my actions, speech, heart) should be a reflection of Jesus Christ at all times.

  7. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

How we behave ourselves does matter. We as children of God are not exempt from any problems that arise from everyday life. The word teaches us it rains on the just and the unjust, chance happens to us all.
How we respond to those things matters, we still must walk with a perfect heart no matter where we are, we must stand upright and do what is right.

  8. Verse 2 MSG “I’m finding my way down the road of right living, but how long before you show up? I’m doing the very best I can, and I’m doing it at home, where it counts.”

Same verse CEB “I want to study the way of integrity—how long before it gets here? I will walk with a heart of integrity in my own house.”

We must be careful who/what we let influence our lives and our homes.

  9. Commitments of a Holy Life

God help me walk with a Perfect Heart
Psalm 101:2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me ? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I Kings 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
    Joshua 23:6 Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

    Keep God’s Laws

  10. THE PAINFUL RESULT OF CARNAL LIVING

The Psalmist is proclaiming as the HEAD of HIS house, how he will honor the SPIRIT and WORD of the LORD by protecting what he allows before his eyes, ears and heart.

The WORD of the LORD is very clear in regards to the separation and commitment expectation of the LORD to maintain a faithful, committed lifestyle to the King of Kings and the LORD of LORDS. A negative, defaming word about another person even in casual conversation, the LORD said, he will cut us off, pride and arrogance, affirms that he will not put up with. Deceit and deceptive measures will not be tolerated. Confessing and appearing to a certain way only to secretly feel and live another, will be a guaranteed eviction and liars he will drive from his sight.

WHO is the LORD looking for, who is HE watching after, who is HE shepherding?

The FAITHFUL and OBEDIENT will LIVE and LABOR in HIS Kingdom.

    NIV

3 I will not look with approval
    on anything that is vile.
    I hate what faithless people do;
I will have no part in it.
    4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me;
I will have nothing to do with what is evil.
5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret,
    I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
    I will not tolerate.
6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless
    will minister to me.
7 No one who practices deceit
    will dwell in my house;
    no one who speaks falsely
    will stand in my presence.

Brothers and Sisters we MUST protect our HOMES as the LORD protects HIS. Refuse to allow certain, entertainment, attitudes and lifestyles to live in our HOME.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

  11. Don’t plug the well

    Psalms 101:7
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house:
he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

Deceit means laziness, deceit and treachery.

Dwell means to inhabit, and stay.

The house is the house of God or the presence of God.

Lie is anything untrue spoken sometimes without cause.

Tarry means to remain in a fixed position.

But here is the kicker. The word for sight in shall not tarry in my sight is the same word used for water well.

In other words our lack of integrity, and inner mischief can cut us off for the well of living waters.

If we lie cheat steal are lazy or deal in treachery we can become spiritually dehydrated, zapped of power, and thirsty for water.

    John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Speak only the truth and Let it flow!

  12. 4 The crooked in heart keep their distance; I refuse to shake hands with those who plan evil. 5 I put a gag on the gossip who bad-mouths his neighbor; I can’t stand arrogance. MSG
Be careful who you are listening to and taking advice from. Put gossip in its place if someone is telling you something and they “don’t tell so and so” take that person who is telling you that to the person they are talking about and nip it in the bud. We (POFW) is too busy to be listening to nay sayers and not doing the work of the Lord. I want to keep a pure heart and do what God wants me to do. My prayer daily is Lord create in me a clean heart renew in me the right spirit. If we don’t have the right spirit and God places someone in our path how are we going to share the goodness of God to them.

  13. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
God is watching us to see if we are faithful to Him and to the house of God,to the work of God !! He also is watching to see if we are always criticizing all the time and complaining ! Oh be careful because as the little song that children sing says: oh be careful little mouth what you say, there’s a Father up above looking down in tender love so be careful little mouth what you say!Someone is watching all that we do , is He pleased with what we do?

  14. “I can’t stand arrogance. But I have my eye on salt-of-the-earth people— they’re the ones I want working with me; Men and women on the straight and narrow—these are the ones I want at my side.” MSG.

We have a choice in who we hang out with. There is a time to fellowship with the sinner. However, who we spend the majority of our time with should be likeminded people; those who love the Lord. Please consider who you spend your time with.

  15. 3 I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.

6 My eyes shall [look with favor] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks blamelessly, he shall minister to me. (AMP)

My eyes are fixed on You Jesus! Let me see how You see, to hate and love what You do. I humble myself that You would use those around me who walk in Your spirit to minister to me.

  16. To know when to protect your heart cut off “friends” and continually praise and seak God. All without a frown in your heart.

  17. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

The eyes are our windows to the soul. What we put in front of them leaves an imprint on us. We can either contaminate our soul or fill it with good, pure things. It’s important to guard what we see and hear, our soul is eternal. The more filth we allow to come in the easier it is to turn aside from God, but the more holy and good we bring in the harder it is to turn.

    Deuteronomy 5:32
32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you:ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

If we are observing the lords commandments then we don’t have time or room to observe unholy things that contaminate us or help convince us to turn aside.

  18. Not in my house!

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

Satan is the father of lies and the master of deception. When we allow deceit to linger in our lives, listen to it, or watch it; it destroys our integrity and pollutes truth. God has given me a little insight on these two spirits that cause disunity in homes.

In many homes these two spirits are evident well before two people meet and fall in love. In order to take dominion over what’s growing in the house each individual must start with themselves. The problem comes in when there is not unity in the fight. The opposing spirit will reveal itself because it will go into defense mode. “You are against me,” yet we know we are not wrestling against flesh and blood but again principalities… I encourage you to stand your ground because God is fighting for you. Eventually one of two things will happen they will break there own will and follow Christ or God will have to break it for them. This process is not just between two married people but also between parents and children. But as parents we have more leverage in the natural called a “rod of correction.”

I’ve said it many times before, what we allow to grow in our homes will grow in our church. We must take dominion anything that opposes the Word of God.

  19. The Lord gives us the keys to our household in this chapter today:

    – Wake up with a song of praise for His mercy and His judgements in our lives, – Behave wisely with a perfect heart,
    – Set no wicked thing (not shows, not videos, no magazines, not pictures, not
books with wicked connotations, not texting of gossip or wickedness, etc
    before mine eyes,
    – Not allowed anything into my heart that would cause me to sin,
    – Cut off those around us that slander their neighbor (thats gossip),
    – Do not allow pride to arise within us,
    – Fellowship with the faithful,
    – Servanthood attitude,
    – Not allowing deceit to overtake our minds,
    – No lying
    – Intercessory prayer to destroy the wickedness of the land.

  20. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

Jesus is the way the truth and the light. I will walk with you Lord and stay away from darkness for when I’m dwelling in darkness there is no light, there is no you Jesus.

  21. Thankyou Lord….I will be glad to the unbelievers and for You Lord.
I will keep my house wise for you,Lord Jesus.
I will glorify your Name in everything I do.
    HEBREWS 6:11
And we desire that everyone of you do shew the same deligence

  22. Continue…HEBREWS 6:11….
Diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12/ That ye be not slothful, but follers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Thank you for word, Lord. I got out of this passage today just because it doesnt look good on the outside doesn’t mean its not good on the inside of a person..dont speak evil of anyone…thankyou Jesus this is for me today.

    • James 4:11
Speak not evil of one of another, bretheren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law: but if though judge the law, thou are not a doer of the law, but a judge.

If we keep away from judging others we keep our house clean and holy .

  23. A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. (‭Psalms‬ ‭101‬:‭4-5‬ KJV)

I pray my eyes and heart be vigilant to those around me. That I may see their actions and hear their speech to take action to remove and separate myself from them.

But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of [Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God], or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat with such a person. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ AMP)

  24. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Time to search your friends and search your hearts! If anyone is not getting me closer to God they have no place with me. Time to stop playing games and focus on Him and His kingdom anyone that’d not walking toward Jesus I will not walk with them. Putting away all those that are not running after God. No time for fence riders or wickedness.

  25. You are your greatest testimony. How you act. How you respond to situations will determine people’s outlook on you. Many times we perceive ourselves as one way, when in reality it’s something totally different. You are who you say you are. But your testimony or how you are to others are determined by our actions. This is why it is important for us as born again Christians to strive to do good. One bad decision or attitude can allow someone to be lost. Due to that God wanted to use you to reach out to them. But because of a bad attitude you were unable to be used in that capacity. So we must be like Christ and do what Jesus would do. So ask yourself WWJD. What would Jesus do.

  26. v1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

v8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD .

    I Will Sing

The city of The LORD, HE IS the center of attention. HE will not allow neither the taint of sin nor any that defile or work abominations to enter.
Perfect in every way , that heavenly city challenges His Church to earnestly prepare to inhabit it.. This is what the psalmist is saying.

THE LORD’S church , the bride of
JESUS CHRIST loves to sing of HIS MERCY
    and Grace and faithfulness .
JESUS will help us overcome whatever trails we face in this life and inherit all that the New Jerusalem has to offer.
It’s no wonder we love to PRAISE HIM.
“I will sing of mercy and judgment : unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.”

  27. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

There were a couple things here:

First, behaving myself. When we think of all the wrong in the world, it is easy to say that we are behaving ourselves, but the Word tells us not to compare ourselves amongst our selves, which means we cannot say that compared to anyone else we behave. Rather we have to say we behave according to the Word of God.

Second, hating the WORK of them that turn aside. Many of us miss the little four letter word in there called, work. We rather blame the person, and fault them, holding a personal grudge against the one who sinned, and not against the sin itself. We were all sinners, covered in sin, and Jesus HATED the sin, but He saw past the sin to our souls, and loved each and every one of us so much that He laid down His life for us.

Food for Thought…. Man, made in the image of God, born into sin, and shapen into iniquity. Jesus, The Word robed in flesh, fulfilled the entire law, HATED the very appearance of evil. Jesus saw past the iniquity that man was shapen into to see the soul within, that He longed to be with, and therefore laid down His own life. He valued us that much, but how much do we value others at?

  28. “I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.” The Lord (Jesus) is merciful this is true, the Lord shall also be the judge, which is settled. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  29. No more vanity.

    Psalms 101:4
    A perverse heart shall depart from me;
    I will know no evil.

Evil is the absence of Hood and good is God. Evil-the absence of God. I will know no absence of Hod. Therefore I will pray and praise for he will inhabit those praises. Sin comes in out life because of a lack of the Holy Ghost. If we are filled with the Spirit and walk in His ways we will not sin.

  30. Don’t you just wish this would come to pass already in our lives today. An end to all wickedness….In this world, and around us every where.

8 Iwill early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

  31. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

The eyes of our God is truly upon us. He has spoken to us through the “Man of God”. He is transitioning us into a place of Dominion.

Walk in the power of our God! You are faithful! Serve The Lord with gladness!

  32. Divine Appointments

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

Divine appointments run on a divine time schedule and we don’t always get warning of when they are coming. We cannot expect to be in sync with God’s calendar if we keep bouncing between time zones to try to be both on our clock and God’s. We must walk in wholehearted commitment if we want everything God has in store. If not, we may just miss out altogether…

    Matthew 25:8-13
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

  33. Oh be careful little eye what you see

3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

We must be care as to the things we view. We must be ever vigilant in looking for inocent things around us. If we let ourselves look at even we will look back again. The more we look at it, the more we think about it, the closer we get to doing it. We must cut ourselves off from the evil around us so that we can become holy unto The Lord. Don’t look back, it will cling to you.

  34. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

Our testimony to the ones watching. Someone is always watching. If no one else is watching I have children who love me and look up to me. They expect to see me victorious, they expect me to be their example, they expect me to be perfect. Although I will fail, I have to stand righteous before my family first and let God know that he can trust me with the souls of our city. If I can’t stand righteous before the ones I love the most I cannot stand righteous before them that I’m called to reach.

  35. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart

For me and my house we will serve the Lord. God is looking out for us. He
will deliver us from all wickedness, trust and walk with him NOW. .

  36. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when Wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
It’s not about how we act at church. It’s when we are alone at home that God can measure how holy and faithful we are. I thank God for his word to measure myself by instead of this world. This world has failed me miserably but God’s word has saved me. Thank You Jesus 🙂

  37. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
Lord help me fix my eyes on you and turn away from evil.
    2 Corinthians 5:7
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

  38. Serve the LORD 1. I WILL sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. 2. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 1 Sam. 18 : 14 6. Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS !!!!!
