Psalm 102

1 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee.

2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.

10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

12 But thou, O Lord, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.

19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;

20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

  1. JESUS JESUS JESUS,

    2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
    17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

    OOOOOO JESUS, I PRAISE THEE OOOOOO LORD OF ALL AND RULER OF NATIONS, THERE IS NONE BEFORE THEE!!! NO NOT ONE!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!
    27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end

  2. 19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;
    20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
    21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
    22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

    Thank you Jesus for what you have spoken to us the last couple days, and for what you have for us the rest of the week!

  3. They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will change them, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will have no end. (‭Psalms‬ ‭102‬:‭26-27‬ NKJV)

    They will not prosper. They will only go for so long, and so far. Their culture will get old and have no more followers. Their style and music has been played and I’m already sick of it. All the money and fame…gone. They will come to an end.
    But you my God are awesome and your wonders will never end! You and your grace will never get old and never get boring. Your fire will never burn out in this world. amen! Hallelujah!

  4. 13. You will rise and have compassion on Zion, because it is time to grant a favor to it. Indeed, the appointed time has come. GWT

    The time of transition is NOW; God’s favor is upon us, let us not miss our Divine Appointment!

  5. iLove to eat the Word

    Psalms 102:4 KJV My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

    Smitten #H5221
    נכה
    nâkâh
    naw-kaw’
    A primitive root; to strike (lightly or severely, literally or figuratively): – beat, cast forth, clap, give [wounds], X go forward, X indeed, kill, make [slaughter], murderer, punish, slaughter, slay (-er, -ing), smite (-r, -ing), strike, be stricken, (give) stripes, X surely, wound.

    When you have a smitten heart, it’s not easy to eat bread. Bread is the Word of God. Many people find it hard to read the Word of God because they have been wounded by someone. It’s time to forgive and eat the Word of God.

  6. O Lord , hear my prayer! Pay attention to my cry for help! -Psalms 102:1
    You will rise up and have compassion on Zion. For it is time to have mercy on her, for the appointed time has come. -Psalms 102:13

    Ready for my appointed time!

  7. The caption for this chapter NLT says “A prayer of one overwhelmed with trouble, pouring out problems before the Lord”. Psalm 55:22 NLT says “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”

    Verses 27-28 NLT “But you are always the same; you will live forever. The children of your people will live in security. Their children’s children will thrive in your presence.”

  8. Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them. But you are always the same; you will live forever. (‭Psalms‬ ‭102‬:‭25-27‬ NLT)

    Everything will end! But I am confident that I can TRUST IN THE LORD, that WILL remain FOREVER, ALWAYS the same, and lives forever!

    Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬ KJV)

  9. 13 You’ll get up from your throne and help Zion – it’s time for compassionate help. 14 Oh, how your servants love this city’s rubble and weep with compassion over its dust! MSG

    It’s time for POFW to be compassionate about our city FORT WORTH there is hurting people out here crying out for help are we willing to go? You never know if just a kind word to the person beside you at work is hurting and just one kind word is all they want to hear. I (we) want to have a sensitive ear to be able to hear God speak to my soul. Are you willing to go into the fields? Reminds me of the song:

    There is peace and contentment in my Father’s house today,
    Lots of food on His table and no one turned away.
    There is singing and laughter as the hours pass by,
    But a hush calms the singing as the Father sadly cries,

    My house is full, but my field is empty,
    Who will go and work for Me today.
    It seems my children want to stay around my table,
    But no one wants to work my fields,
    No one wants to work my fields.

    Push away from the table.
    Look out through the windowpane,
    Just beyond the house of plenty
    Lies a field of golden grain.
    And it’s ripe unto harvest,
    But the reapers, where are they?
    In the house,
    Oh, can’t the children hear
    the Father sadly say,

    My house is full, but my field is empty,
    Who will go and work for Me today.
    It seems my children want to stay around my table,
    But no one wants to work my fields,
    No one wants to work my fields.

  10. 18 Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord. (NLT)

    We must carry on the truth, begin an apostolic heritage of our own for our future families if we don’t already have one. It’s our job to help raise the next generation by being obedient to His word now.

  11. DIVINE APPOINTMENT

    13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

    The deceiver of every believer faithfully sends darts of doubt to mind of the child of GOD. In attempt to deceive the child of GOD that there is no hope for you, that you will never get any better or receive deliverance, that you will never be blessed, that you will never get out of the mess that you are in.

    However as we heard on Sunday and the word of the LORD has confirmed to us that GOD has already established and set DIVINE APPOINTMENTS for HIS people.

    I tell you NOW that Sunday, July 20th at 6:00pm will be a DIVINE APPOINTMENT for The Pentecostals of Fort Worth. You will wise to not allow anything to keep you from this service and you will be BLESSED to bring a sacrificial offering for the building of the House of the LORD along with you regular tithe and offering, beg, borrow, sell goods, cash in stock, savings, ask the LORD to show you where the resources are that you may sow into this tremendous opportunity.

  12. Humble

    The flesh doesn’t like pain, it doesn’t like difficult situations, and often our preference would be simply to hit the “escape” button and get out as soon as possible. But that isn’t always what we need. Sometimes we need to just endure through the storm to get to the other side. Sometimes the situation won’t change because we are still resisting the hand of God in the midst of it try to change us. Whatever our care, part of casting it upon God comes with humbling ourselves under His hand; we must give the situation to Him and allow Him to do with it what He pleases.

    1 Peter 5:5-11
    5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

    6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

    7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

    8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

    9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

    10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

    11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

  13. 27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

    When I talk to people about the Holy Ghost and they tell me that was then and not now, this was one of the scriptures I use and when they say well that is the old testament that is when I take out Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

    You see our God made sure that everything can be proven on both side of His book. To God be ALL GLORY AND HONOR. We need to go out and teach the world about Jesus our Lord and Savior.

  14. 13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

    I believe the “set time” is now for POFW. The prophetic word from God on Monday night to the congregation – we are in transition from faithful wise servants to rulers! There’s no time to lose, no time to waste, the time is now – don’t hesitate. Let’s rise up and be the Apostolic, Anointed Church God has called us to be!

  15. 4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

    9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.

    There are many books, stories, and articles in this world that draw our flesh.
    Reading anything else but the Bible is like eating ashes.
    You wouldn’t see a person on the street in a sound mind eating ashes for we all know ashes are toxic for human consumption. They have even been known to have pieces of glass, which if eaten could strip away someone’s inside. No one in a sound mind would eat ashes for breakfast, lunch and dinner; so why do we constantly ignore the hunger in our soul for Gods word, and decide to snack on some fiction book that will NEVER come true, or some other source of reading that does not fill our soul like His word does.

  16. “This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.” One would be wise to observe and learn from time past. Accordingly one must endeavor to ensure this generation, and the one to follow know the name of the Lord (Jesus). What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  17. 13, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

    There is a “shifting” going on at POFW, and the set time for God to favour us has come, and it is NOW!! We should be excited and full of anticipation of what God is about to do For Us and Through Us in the city of Fort Worth. Thank You JESUS!

  18. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
    We must live a holy and righteous life before our children and others and pray for the next generation that is coming behind us that they will hold on to the truth .It is our responsibility to make sure that the ones coming behind us knows how to worship and work for God.

  19. 19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;

    20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

    He’ll break open the skies for them that choose to cry out his name. Who is man that he would be thoughtful of him. Who am I that he heard me. I had abunch of friends just like me, in the same mindset and life style but he chose me. I dint know why and I may never know why but I praise him. I could have chose anyone and he chose me. When I was a prisoner, naturally and spiritually I cried out to him and he heard me….. And he has been hearing me ever since then. Thank you Jesus. I truely don’t deserve you but I will do my best to make you proud. I will put all else aside and seek you and you alone. You are my strength.

  20. We don’t walk down the street and see someone that is eating ashes,so what eating ashes is referring to is the hunger for gods word.if you read the bible before during and after.and go to church when church is open,and be exited about going to church,then you won’t be as scared and drawn down you’ll be happy.

  21. 18-21 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord. For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

    What a great Savior we have; to be mindful of each and every one of His children. Not only when we cry out for help – which we generally create ourselves – but He also has a plan for each of us. Our job is to determine what our individual purpose is. Are we to be a SS teacher, missionary to foreign lands or drive the SS bus? Either and or all; I am willing to answer the call.

  22. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.

    ALL generations shall praise The Lord.

  23. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.

    19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;

    20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

    21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

    22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

    I thank God for the Word given to the POFW. As we wait expectantly for what is to me come, that appointed time of shifting. The Lord had been dealing with the church on certain things the 22 verse caught my attention talking about unity to serve the Lord. Notice that we are about to have a change that will write history. Like never before, that comes to mind, and this things shall be written for the generations to come and people shall praise The Lord! We are about to see the might works of the Lord… “To loose those that are appointed to death…to declare the name of The Lord in Fort Worth..”

    To GOD be the glory!

  24. v12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

    v13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to Favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

    v27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end

    The Psalmist was face with all kinds of challenges. There was only one thing to do-
    PRAY.
    Through the years we have seen the POFW
    and our great Leaders faced with all kinds of challenges also. …..Yes we prayed, and trust GOD and HIS WORD gaining strength .

    Reminding GOD as the Psalmist did of all the great things HE HAS DONE And
    WHO HE IS. !!!!

    Wow Wow Wow !!!
    I’m so excited, thankful , and grateful .
    My heart is full.. I can’t wait !!!
    I think about the many times Pastor and many guest Evangelist would tell us
    ” Don’t jump out of the boat” Don’t bail out now” ” YOU want to be a part of this””
    ” This is a GOD THING”
    and verse 13 is on time too!!!
    another confirmation of the word of GOD.

    v13 “Yea, the set time is come.”

    As the Psalmist we can take comfort in GOD’S mercy , favour and HE IS FROM EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING . HIS years have no end nor do the lives of those who trust in HIM.
    Stay submitted to the sovereignty of GOD.

    STEP IN !!! GOD has divine appointments for the POFW.
    As the angel at Bethesada that troubled the water. John 5:1-6

  25. Hear my prayer 1. HEAR my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee. 2. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS !!!!!

  26. Psalms 102:19-21
    For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary;from heaven did the Lord behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner;to loose those that are appointed to death; To declare the name of the Lord in Zion,and his praise in Jerusalem;

    There are four purposes God has for looking down from heaven to behold the earth in this passage.

    1. To hear the groaning of the prisoner

    2. Loose those appointed to death

    3. Declare his name in Zion

    4. Declare his praise in Jerusalem.

    1. Groaning is shrieking, and crying out. God hears the captives, and those that are bound. Just as he heard the cry of his people in Egypt, so he hears the slaves of this world today.

    His ears are ever open to their cry.

    2. The word appointed is the Hebrew word Ben as in Benjamin. The name Ben means son. God wants to loose those who are stuck in the genetics of, and inheritance of death.

    3. When we declare the name we declare his fame, reputation, and glory. It’s all about Jesus!

    4. He is worthy of all praise. Especially praise songs as indicated by the definition of praise here.

  27. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
    19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;

    The people which shall be created to praise the lord, we are the people that was created to praise God. Jesus paid a debt we owed, but could not pay. The greatest reason to do this was to give his people a chance to change their lives.
    The law was a school master to bring us unto Christ. The law could not change a mans heart it was law full of thou shalt and thou shalt not. The Holy Ghost could be in a mans heart and change him and the way he thinks.
    Then we could praise God with a new feeling and attitude that we could not have without a new birth experience. Which I see that we (the church) are the people that was created to praise the Lord!!
    Just A thought!!

  28. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.

    We are that generation. The generation to praise God. We are called to worship. We were created to praise God. This is our purpose in life to worship the one true God. He is worthy to be praised

  29. 13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

    Praise God! POFW has a set time for harvest, for favor & for blessings-even 1000 fold. The set time is come! Sons & daughters are coming home from the North, South, East & West.

  30. It could be worse.

    As I read this this morning I thought man this sounds like me. Then the psalm talks about the toil on his body and I realized it isn’t the bad. It could be worse. My trails aren’t near this devastating and I am not going through the troubles of job. It could be worse. Thank you for the grace you have giving me lord and thank you for the things you took away. You know what’s best.

    Selah

  31. 102:28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
    69:36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit : and they that love his name shall dwell therin.

  32. 1 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee.

    Prayer is powerful, the power of God can turn it all around. It’s obediance and sincere repentance
    what God is looking for.

    Lord hear my prayer, bless me and mines, use me to do your will Lord.

  33. The Most High, has the greatest view point, and can see all, hear all, and he can change all, but he changes NOT………..”I pray”, Jesus hears this prisoner groanings and sets him free, Debt Free, Disease Free, and from all forms of oppression! So, I can declare him, and give him all the praise & glory! Amen & Amen……….

    19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;

    20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

    21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

  34. 4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

    A fool will wait until he’s dying if hunger before he eats. The same in the kingdom and the bread of life in his word. The word is always available so why do we starve ourselves? The masters table is set, come and dine.
