Psalm 109

1 Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;

2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15 Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

20 Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

21 But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.

24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

26 Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done it.

28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.

29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.

30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

  1. Can you love them?

I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them! (‭Psalms‬ ‭109‬:‭4‬ NLT)

*Can you still love them when they despise you when they want to kill you and destory your destiny. They come in packs and attempt to take everything from you. They hate you. They want you dead. They want nothing but to do you harm.
Could you still love them? When they come up and shoot up your best friends. When you trust them and they steal. When they break your heart. They come at night and rob you. They smile when the see you frown. Can you forgive them? Love them?
When their not there for you.
When your brother/sisters turns their back on you. And tell lies and spreads your secrets. The ones that curse you. And deceived you. When your “boys” leave you hanging in the hard times. Not so much homies no more huh? …Will you still love them?

A lot of us say “I hate you” to Jesus.
He tells us that he “loves us”

We stab him in his back. He turns around and hugs us.

He still loves us. So shouldn’t we still love those that hurt us and turn their backs on us? We should.

I forgive you. I love you.

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬ NLT)

  2. O bless my soul, Lord.

    John 15:7
IFye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.

I know that the Lord looks out for His children and protects them from harm. Thank you Lord for having mercy on me when Im wrong. But you, Lord Jesus is just a praise away.

  3. HALELUJAH!!!
31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

Bless then that curse me JESUS, I LOVE YOU DADDY, I PRAISE YOU JESUS THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU!!! =D (talk about cursing and generational cussing)

  4. 4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

What can make us give ourselves unto prayer? We need to understand the importance of prayer and not just what prayer can do. Prayer can move mountains and cause our enemies to tremble at the presence of God.
The point I want to make is TO GIVE OURSELVES TO PRAYER.
When we realize what we really want are we willing to pay the price to get it.
The price may not be money but a more important part of us. Which may be us and pouring something into what it is we want. We will have to pray continually or give ourselves to prayer, make prayer what your life is about.
Are we willing to go to the next level?

  5. 4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Everyone is against him, even his own family… he is the king, he could turn and pay them with the same price, treat them like they are treating him; but no!!!! He goes into prayer!!!! What an example. We need to pray for those who intentionally hurt us. May the Lord open their eyes, and soften their hearts, so they may see further than their noses, and feel God’s Spirit calling them. Next time anger boils in you GIVE YOURSELF TO PRAYER!!!!!!! and watch Jesus change the situation into a blessings.

  6. 1 O God, whom I praise, do not remain silent,2 for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.3 With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause.4 In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer.5 They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship (NIV)

Wow can we still say we love the ones that have hurt us lied on us and abused us? Can we honestly say we love them? We have to, its in the word. Is it hard yes it is. But if Jesus was mocked and made fun what makes us think we will not be mocked and made fun of. I’ve heard Pastor say several times the way that you know you have forgiven that person if that you can go around that person or hear that persons name mentioned without getting upset. I learned the hard way on this matter, don’t let bitterness build a home in your heart, God cannot dwell in a home that has alot of clutter of bitterness, resentment, gossip, etc. Let’s check our hearts today and make sure that God has a clean home to dwell in. When we/I are talked about today smile and let them God loves them! A smile goes a long ways 🙂

  7. iLove to eat the Word

David appears to be a little negative in this particular Psalm, however he still stays true to his worship, “Psalms 109:30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.”

Lets praise him despite and beyond our own ability.

  8. 30. My mouth’s full of great praise for God, I’m singing his hallelujahs surrounded by crowds MSG

He is worthy of great praise, and not just in our prayer closets, but in front of crowds so all will know of His greatness. We shouldn’t be ashamed or embarrassed to worship Him in front of others – it doesn’t matter what they think of us, what matters is what they learn about Him: He is a great God, worthy of all praise!

    Psalm 34:1 KJV
I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

  9. LET GOD ARISE

30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

In verse 30 we learn the key to VICTORY. The psalmist describes situations and scenarios that many of us can relate to and what we learn from this chapter is that regardless of the depth of our pain or the sorrow associated with our hurt, the key to VICTORY is to PRAISE the LORD.

Psalms 68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

When we PRAISE the LORD we raise HIM in our lives and anything that opposes the will of GOD in our lives is an enemy of the LORD. A carnal mind, an earthly, fleshly mindset that ignores the Spirit of the LORD is what the LORD defeats when we PRAISE the LORD.

  10. I am a joke to people everywhere; when they see me, they shake their heads in scorn. Help me, O LORD my God! Save me because of your unfailing love. Let them see that this is your doing, that you yourself have done it, LORD. Then let them curse me if they like, but you will bless me! When they attack me, they will be disgraced! But I, your servant, will go right on rejoicing!

But I will give repeated thanks to the LORD, praising him to everyone. (‭Psalms‬ ‭109‬:‭25-28, 30‬ NLT)

We all have been hurt in the past, whether it be by the ones that are closest to you such as your family, or just in general. Either you become like them, or you continue to love them no matter what. And it may be one of the hardest thing to do, but it teaches, matures, brings greater love, and it helps you to endure and to confide in the word of GOD, and not in man. It’s The Lord who searches the heart of all men, and even my own heart. And I need to make sure that my heart is in right standing with Him.

  11. Taken Care Of

4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

The Psalmist seems to start from the angle of, “I was continually good to them but they were continually bad to me, so God, I’m tired of it and want You to take care of it!” But we know that while God certainly can deal with people sometimes in a harshness as a result of their sins, ultimately His was response for taking care of it was to go to the cross. It was there that He took cursing upon Himself that we might be called righteous, the sons of God.

God can certainly take care of both us and whatever issue we’re facing because He already shed His blood to answer the wickedness of man. He can bless us despite man’s wrath and persecution, and He can save despite the repulsiveness of sin. We are wise in the face of difficult situations to give ourselves to prayer. Maybe God allowed that person to be ugly to us because He trusts us to not try to get even but pray because that soul needs *somebody* to pray for them.

    Ezekiel 22:30
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

    Matthew 5:43-48
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

    44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

    1 Peter 5:6-8
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

  12. 4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

People will mistreat you. Even those that are the closest to you. How will you respond to it? An eye for an eye? Revenge? The psalmist said I give myself to prayer. Another words he took it to The Lord. Raised his petition to God, and let God be the avenger of the wrongdoings that happened. Our first response shouldn’t be to take things to friends, coworkers, and family, that can’t help us. Rather we should take it to the only source that can truly and righteously help us, the one true living God.

  13. 26 Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:
27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done it.

We are more than overcomers. We are victorious. Only through Him are we more than dust, blown in the wind.

His mercies are everlasting to all generations. All we have to do is look, set aside our pride, and look. When we look, we are able to see where He has brought us. How He has saved us time and time again. If we get truly honest, we see that we have what we do, because He is merciful, and He GAVE it to us, and not we ourselves.

  14. “I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.” One is wise to cry out unto the Lord (Jesus) and avoid vengeance, and praise him for he is worthy. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  15. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

    Praise The Lord!

  16. 21 But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

thank you for your mercy my God. Thank you for your grace. You’ve searched me oh God, you know my heart. You’ve delivered me and set me free, picked me up from the dirt and heal me nowboh Lord, I pray that you would make me whole. Whole in you Jesus, you are all I need. I need you Jesus.

  17. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

I will give you all of my praise Lord!

  18. Unfailing love

    Psalms 109:21
    But You, O God, the Lord, deal kindly with me for Your name’s sake; Because Your lovingkindness is good, deliver me;

God is mercy to us because of his love is never ending and never fails. It is for His reputation that he delivers us. He loves it. He gets the glory. He is the God of Ages and in the destitute world He wants to show him self strong. He loves sinners with an everlasting love. Let’s break the chains of the captives and loose Holy Ghost liberty. We are the seed of Abraham and it is time to declare war agains the spiritual kings who have taken our families hostage.

  19. I will Praise Him 30. I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. 31. For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS !!!!! I PRAISE YOU JESUS !!!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS

  20. 4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Imagine what would happen if we could all give ourselves to prayer. Our communication with God should never be cut and should never be used just when we are in trouble. Men should always pray and not faint. When we pray it encourages our spirit and puts the devil on the run. Let us pray without ceasing.

  21. 4 – I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations
even as I am praying for them!

Do good to them that despitefully use you…..heap coals of fire upon their head…..these are ways to turn the other cheek when those we are praying for try to destroy us through accusations, lies, hatred, arrogance, ignorance, pride and selfishness.

It is not for us to choose when and how they are punished by the Lord, but it our mission and cause to pull them out of the miry clay their soul is in through intercessory prayer. The power of life and death is in our tongue and we will have the fruit of what we say in times of frustration and distress. Bless them who curse you!

  22. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Your praise can bring you out. When we praise the One True God, our spirit is lifted. Make a joyful noise unto The Lord all ye lands.

  23. v30 IWill greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

It’s always in order to pray and praise our GREAT GOD.!!!
Even in time of adversity .

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iRejoice

  24. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
God is worthy to be praise for he has done mighty works!

  25. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
God doesn’t want us to just praise Him ever now and then but He wants us to GREATLY praise Him! When we do something great that means we do it big and with all we got!!! I want to be a great praiser for The Lord because He is worthy!!! Praise The Lord!!!

  26. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; -Psalms 149:6

Praise him for his might acts!

  27. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

I am grateful that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Even when things are racing 100 miles per hour he is still the same! Hallelujah Jesus!

  28. 28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.

Lord in due season you will bless me and my family. I will praise you and worship you. Deliver me from all wicked, lead me and guide me to do your will.

  29. 4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Our prayers have more power than your insistence. Taking matters into our own hands may not guarantee the results we may want. If we really have ourselves into prayer and asked of The Lord of our decisions, He will surely direct our paths and lead our life. We should apply the proverb and acknowledge The Lord in all ways…. Giving to prayer will change situations and move the Lord in your favor.

  30. 4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Before we try to fight a fight thats not ours let us give ourselves to prayer to see what Gods going to do first

  31. He did if for POFW, why not all of us?

21 But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.
26 Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:
27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done

Sunday was a wonderful service! Our church has been faithful in working to give toward our bigger impact! Our efforts have sometimes been challenging, but always rewArding. We have had struggles but have always trusted in Jesus. I think that on Sunday we were delivered out of a struggling situation because of God ‘a great mercy. He delivered our church from poverty mentality so that we could glorify Him! It was like Gideon and his army. We may have been few in number, but we were the few, the mighty, The Pentecostals! God did it because of his great mercy. There is no other way than by his mighty right hand!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬ KJV)

  32. 17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

This is where I see the well known quote ‘do unto others as you want done unto you’. You cast out what seed you want sewn.

Let’s make it our goal wherever we are to be as much like Christ as we can. You may be witnessing to someone who simply says hi. Someone is always watching and being a child of the most high gives you a responsibility to teach the world that there is a better way to live. If we can preach and teach it, we can live it.

  33. Wow….someone is definately angry and upset, and seeking revenge but not by his own hand but of the Lord.

17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

    Remember, vengeance is the Lord’s!

  34. 30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

  35. Verses 27-28 AMP “That they may know that this is Your hand, that You, Lord, have done it. Let them curse, but do You bless. When adversaries arise, let them be put to shame, but let Your servant rejoice.”

Same verses NLT “Let them see that this is your doing, that you yourself have done it, LORD. Then let them curse me if they like, but you will bless me!”

We (POFW) all know what the Lord did for us Sunday night and NOW we can share with others what the Lord is doing for us and soon they will see IT!

  36. For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor,to save him from them that condemn his soul.
I know God will take care of those that condemn myself and the other saint’s. I know I can lay it at the cross and be sure it’s going to be more than okay. Thank You Jesus!
