Psalm 112

1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

  1. v4 Unto the upright there ariseth light on the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion , and righteouness .

Isaiah saw a vision of GOD as ” high and lifted up ” changed the whole picture for Isreael from darkness into a picture of hope.
    JESUS IS OUR HOPE!
” For unto us a child is born” Isaiah 9:6

We are privileged people! Without HIM, we would be lost and undone.
I’m so thankful that JESUS called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. HIS light provides us with directions and hope and will guide us to our eternal home that HE has prepared for those who love HIM.

GOD’S people have always had something to show us the way.

  2. YES!!!
1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

HALELUJAH!!! TO FEAR THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD, IS SOOOOOO GOOD!!! HALELUJAH!!! I PRAISE YOU JESUS!!! THERE IS NO ONE LIKE MY DADDY!!! HALELUJAH!!! JESUS YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

  3. 1. Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

    2. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

    3. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Well, there goes the “We’re supposed to be poor” theory! If anyone needed another scripture to have the faith to break free from the poverty mentality, here it is. The spirit of Goshen has been invoked on POFW; let’s believe it, receive it, and live it in Jesus Name!

  4. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

I’m am trusting The Lord all the way. I know he’ll show me the right way.

  5. 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments

Blessed is the man that fears God, but notice the latter part of this verse. That delighteth greatly in his commandments, not just sort of like to do what is right. We must believe that the commandments of God are the most important part of our life. Not just reading them and shouting about them, but delighteth in obeying them.
I am reminded of the song I get JOY when I think about what Jesus has done for me. Do we get Joy in obeying the commandments of God? Do we read these commandments and say I can’t do that or you mean I have to give that up!
We read these and say in our hearts if you want me to do that God I will, I will obey every word in the book. I just want to be saved or ready when the Lord returns.
How do we feel about the things of God, it matters to God and should to us. When people see us what do they think. We are living epistles for the world to see Jesus in us, we need to let our light shine. I hope it is not a little light but a great big light.
If we enjoy the blessing of Goshen, we must also enjoy the blessing of obeying the Word of God. THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD SHOULD NOT BRING SORROW BUT JOY.

  6. 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

It is the desire of our Heavenly Father for us to prosper. There should be no reason for us to be poor. All we need to do is to make sure that we act righteously, we pay our tithe, we give our offering without restrains and with joyful heart; and everything else, ALL THE DESIRES OF OUR HEARTS, shall be given unto us. A lot of people say that money is the root of all evil, that is true if you do not use it for the kingdom of God. All money needs to be used correctly so we can be a blessing and not a curse. BE A GREAT STEWARDSHIP OF THE BLESSINGS OUR LORD HAS BESTOWED UPON YOU!!!!!!

  7. First things first

1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

    Ecclesiastes 12:13
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

    John 14:15-16
    15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

From beginning to end the whole of life rests on two simple principles: fear God, and keep his commandments.

Fear means to revere, stand in awe of, honor and respect.

Keep means to watch over, honor, and retain.

If we get these two right EVERYTHING else will fall into place.

  8. 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Through out life I’ve been called many things. Some good some not so good. Yet, one thing have I set in my mind, it does not matter what everyone else calls me but what does God call me?

    “BLESSED”

  9. ENJOYING LIFE

ENJOYING LIFE seems to so many to be a distant dream. In this short chapter we find instruction once again in regards of HOW to live in a manner of ENJOYING LIFE.

JOY begins with OBEDIENCE. As children we learn that UNITY and PEACE at home are best attained through being obedient to those in authority, trouble seems to escape those that are living in OBEDIENCE to the WORD of GOD. ENJOYING LIFE means LOVING GOD, LOVING LIFE in GOD and living our life with a willing attitude; seeking to obey GOD and HIS WORD.

The Apostle John gives us this understanding:

1John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Delighting in the commandments of GOD is best displayed by seeking the will of GOD through HIS WORD and identifying areas in our lives that need adjustment to align with the will of GOD. Distancing ourselves from the vocabulary that says I have to go pray, I have to go to church, I have to read my bible, I have to worship, I have to give my tithe and offering, I have to live a certain way, etc. or I can’t do this or I can’t do that. This thinking implies grievous work.

grievous – 926. barus, bar-ooce´; weighty, burdensome, grave: — grievous, heavy, weightier.

Praise, Blessing, wealth, riches, endurance, light, grace, compassion and righteousness are all ways people ENJOY LIFE and are all found in this chapter connected to not only obeying the WORD of GOD, but is strongly connected to taking delight in HIS commands.

Choose today to ENJOY LIFE In JESUS, lets be excited over the correction, instruction and discretion of the WORD of GOD.

  10. “Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.” There are blessings for one that will obey the word of God (Jesus), as such one would be wise to heed what sayeth the man of God. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  11. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Just as Poverty is a mentality that has stricken much of this region, wealthy is also a mentality. Wealth and Riches, we first get the mind set, then we will bare the fruit…

  12. 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

The bible say a man that feareth God He is blessed. If we keep a good attitude, the right spirit not following his commandments half heartedly, our seed( our children) thier children the fruits of our Labour will be excepted. Anything that we put our hands to will be great and blessed. It says that wealth and riches shall be in his house!! Thank you Jesus! Our house is a blessed!

  13. Anyone searching for a blessed life can find the antidote in this chapter: 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

This is the results of a blessed life: 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

My heart is fixed, my minds made up, No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up, His Spirit lives in me and that’s the reason I’m Souled Out!

  14. 7, “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.”
8, “His heart is established, he shall not fear, until he see his desire upon his enemies.”

These verses made me think of a song this morning.
    God’s been good to me.
    Through every test and trial,
    I’ve got Victory.
    God’s been good to me.
No matter what comes my way,
I’ll lift my voice and say,
    HALLELUJAH anyhow.

No matter what comes my way in life, my heart is fixed and established, I trust in the LORD. His word tells me that “He will never leave me nor forsake me.”

    I AM BLESSED!
    I AM VICTORIOUS!!

  15. 7 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.
8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. (NLT)

“We have overcome, Hallelujah Hallelujah, we have overcome by the power of Your Name, Jesus You’re the one, Hallelujah Hallelujah, the one who made a way for us to triumph in Your Name” I trust You Lord! He has never failed in caring for me and I know that he never will.

  16. Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. (‭Psalms‬ ‭112‬:‭1-2‬ NLT)

I was asked this week by one if my children, what will it take for us to have peace in the world. My response this morning was “obedience.”

As we read in the scriptures, that obedience will always bring peace, joy, blessings, and so on.
We can be a people, a church, that is truly blessed of GOD that all may see and wonder what is going on at POFW.
If you’re wondering why isn’t that I am blessed like….. Probably because there’s a lack of obedience to His Word.
When there is obedience, then there is a reverence unto GOD, and to those who have authority over you.

Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. (‭Psalms‬ ‭112‬:‭1-2‬ NLT)

  17. This chapter explains the “Blessed Life”. I am “Blessed to be a Blessing” is what a shirt my daughter use to have said. When we make the decision to be obedient and completely trust in the Lord; verses 1-2 CEV state ….”the Lord blesses all who do right”. Verse 7 CEV says “Bad news won’t bother them; they have decided to trust the LORD.” Make the decision today if you haven’t already to live a “Blessed Life” and trust in the Lord.

  18. Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. (‭Psalms‬ ‭112‬:‭1‬ NLT)

There is joy and pleasure when we fear and obey the Lord.

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! (‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭9-11‬ NLT)

  19. 7 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.
8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.
Lord I pray that I will be strong for you. That I stand strong when news comes my way and put my life in your hands. For when the enemy comes my way I will stand tall because I know the battle is already won! Lord you are mighty in battle and Lord over all and I praise your name with all I have!! 🙂

  20. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

My heart is fixed and my mind is made up, I will trust in The Lord with my whole heart.

  21. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

Living for God is so enjoyable and rewarding !! When we accomplish something we can look at the results and be proud of what we have done! Do we live our Christian Life in a way that at the end of the day we can be proud of the things that we have done or do we have to hang our head and say , I could have done better if I had put a little more effort into it!!! Let’s live for God and enjoy the blessings that come along with it! Praise The Lord

  22. This chapter reminded me of the song:
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

I can speak to mountains, they will be moved
I can speak to dreams, they will come true
I can tell my troubles to get away
God gave me the power to make my day

I’m no longer walking on sinking sand
I’m just steady resting in my Father’s hands
I’m blessed when I come and when I go
Everyday I’m livin’, livin’ in the overflow

I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

I can speak to mountains, they will be moved
I can speak to dreams, they will come true
I can tell my troubles to get away
God gave me the power to make my day

I’m no longer walking on sinking sand
I’m just steady resting in my Father’s hands
I’m blessed when I come and when I go
Everyday I’m livin’, livin’ in the overflow

I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

I’m blessed when I come and when I go
Everyday I’m livin’, livin’ in the overflow

I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life
I like livin’ this kinda life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

    I’m livin’, I’m livin’
    Oh, I’m blessed
    I’m livin’
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

    I’m livin’, I’m livin’
    Oh, I’m blessed
    I’m livin’
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

    I’m livin’ a blessed life
    I’m livin’ a blessed life

Why do we worry live a blessed life, when we have Jesus on our side we are living a blessed life!!

  23. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

Psalm 23: 4 says “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

God can turn any valley into a pentecost. God is not the author of fear “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” The power and Holy Spirit of God is our comfort, we trust in to lead us out of the valley and desert. The Holy Ghost leads us, leads us beside still waters for refreshing. We simply need to let God lead us, “do not turn aside to the right or to the left.” (Deut 5:32.The joy of the Lord is our strength and when we find praise and joy, we find victory over the enemies attack of fear. We are Victorious!

  24. iLove to eat the Word

Waaaahhhhhhooooo! In the name of Jesus, Break the back of the poverty spirit in the name of Jesus.

  25. Rewards of a good man is coming my way in Jesus name, Amen & Amen……………………………………..

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
    ———————————————————————
My heart is established upon Jesus Christ and I won’t be afraid. Amen & Amen. I’m gonna see all those devils, demons, evil spirits, satan, wolves, foxes, scorpions, snakes, and the men that opposed God. They all will Fall………..

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

    “Hope in Christ Jesus”……………………

  26. Prosperity.

    Psalms 112:3
Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

This psalm really puts things into perspective if we think we live a life that is any thing less than prosperous.

Fear The Lord (trust and reverence) and do his commandments. This yields the blessings.

113:3 As the Declaration of Independence was being signed, Samuel Adams stated, “We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come.”

It is not the will of God for his people to
Live paycheck to paycheck and be drowning in debt. These experiences are more often the product of sin, bad stewardship, idolatry, or the process to test us in the small things. It is time to become faithful in the small things.

In your face devil, $155k in donations from a congregation of ~200 adults.

    Boom shakalaka.

  27. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Thank God poverty mentality has been broken. Poverty is not just a financial state. It is something can affect us in every area of our lives.

The Holy Ghost give us life more abundantly.

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. -Deuteronomy 8:18

Wealth adds many friends, but a poor person is separated from his friend. -Proverbs 19:4

  28. Be A Giver

    Psalm 112:9-10 NLT
9 They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor.

10 The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.

The enemy hates givers. Those who would worship God freely with their time, talent, and treasure are those who refuse the yoke of idolatry.

    Matthew 6:24 NLT
No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

    1 Timothy 6:10 NLT
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

When we are wise stewards and worship God in our giving, we show that what we have is about God not us. It’s when we label it “my time, talent, treasure” that we miss the point that God gave it to us and it is our opportunity for worship. Like with Cain and Abel, Cain gave to God what he wanted, not what pleased God. Even when his offering was rejected, he still missed the point that the offering was about God not him. When we are willing and obedient in our giving as a worship unto God, we find God takes care of us and blessing falls.

    Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  29. 5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

    Discretion—
    dis·cre·tion
    disˈkreSHən/
    noun
    1. the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information.
“she knew she could rely on his discretion”
synonyms: circumspection, carefulness, caution, wariness, chariness, guardedness; More
    2. the freedom to decide what should be done in a particular situation.
“it is up to local authorities to use their discretion in setting the charges”
synonyms: choice, option, preference, disposition, volition; More
    Origin

Middle English (in the sense ‘discernment’): via Old French from Latin discretio(n-) ‘separation’ (in late Latin ‘discernment’), from discernere (see discern).

Discretion, the Bible says we should use it!

  30. Psalm 112
    The Man Who Fears God
v.7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

    Proverbs 1:33
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

  31. 4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

Fear is a thing that bounds many people from becoming the person of their dreams. Every one has problems and obstacles, some are scarier than other, yet to some extent there is a measure of fear that all must have to face. The word of God is filled with His promises and blessings and of course protection from fear or anything that may arise against you. Some examples:

Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

The key to activate the promises is to be his child, a child of God. To obey and trust Him. When we are obedient we let that trust show by standing firm to the word of God and walking confidently that what God has said He will do. What greater sacrifice can a man do than to show his trust in all areas of one’s life by obeying the Lord in all things.

  32. Fear the LORD 1. PRAISE ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. Ps. 119 : 16 2. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed: Ps. 25 : 13 3. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. Matt. 6 : 33 I AM VICTORIOUS, I AM VICTORIOUS
