Psalm 114

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

  1. You see all things are possible….his powerful presence could move your mountains too.

    7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

    “Holdfast”………………………

  2. 2. Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    3. The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

    4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

    When you have praise and dominion, nothing can stand in your way!

    “Dominion”

    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

    God has given The Pentecostals of Fort Worth dominion over the city of Fort Worth. Judah is Praise.When we praise and worship the Lord, He steps in and we become the sanctuary of the Most High. Then, we receive authority and power to “speak to the mountain.”

  4. Wait

    5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

    6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

    7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

    As we travel towards our promises not only can God remove any obstacle in our way but He can turn it into a place of blessing. That mountain that stands tall and proud in your way? Watch God turn it into a fountain of blessing. Maybe that “dead end” is in your way because God has something in store that requires you to wait where you are for a season. Maybe that mountain is there so you can pause and just drink of God’s living waters for a while and draw nearer to Him without the distraction of new changes. Maybe we have to stop because He’s positioning other people in our lives for something and it’s not time yet to bring things into motion. Whatever the reason, a season of pause does not automatically mean a season of waste, and just as easily as God can hit “pause,” He can hit “play” again. The question is, are we willing to endure the pause that we might be blessed in the plan of God?

    Psalm 27:14
    Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

    Joshua 1:9
    Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

    Exodus 40:36-38
    36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

    37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

    38 For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

  5. A CHURCH IN DOMINION

    1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    When the people of GOD came out of the bondage of Egypt, they once again were liberated to exercise their GOD given authority in the earth. Praise is HIS sanctuary:

    Psalms 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

    The LORD chooses his resting place or sanctuary. HIS WORD has already established that he chose PRAISE to inhabit or dwell in. A people that willingly, faithfully and sacrificially PRAISE the name of the LORD JESUS will always enjoy the LORD as their covering.

    Through continual PRAISE the covering of the LORD establishes that people with DOMINION. The LORD is the King of Kings and therefore rules with ultimate AUTHORITY and DOMINION. A life filled with PRAISE and OBEDIENCE to the WORD of GOD will establish JESUS as LORD in my LIFE and through JESUS we live in DOMINION as the chosen of the LORD.

    DOMINION – 4475. memshalah, mem-shaw-law´; rule; also (concretely in plural) a realm or a ruler:—dominion, government, power, to rule.

    DOMINION – domain: supreme authority : sovereignty: an order of angels — see celestial hierarchy: absolute ownership.

    GOD has granted The Pentecostals of Fort Worth DOMINION through PRAISE and OBEDIENCE. Today lets tear down strongholds, cast down imaginations and live in DOMINION over sin and its task master carnality.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  6. “The sea saw it, and fled”. The waters obeyed, their Creator (Jesus). “Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob”. The earth obeyed, their Creator (Jesus). Why therefore would one think any differently, as one should also obey the Creator (Jesus), while one can. For there shall be a day, when one shall obey as the water and earth regardless of one’s wants. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  7. 1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

    When you read this, you can’t help but wonder how the nation of Israel could wonder around in the wilderness for 40 years! God had invested his future in Judah, his sanctuary and here they were just wandering around and could have been partaking in the Promise Land.
    The earth trembles at the presence of God of Jacob, how great can our God be. Even to the water coming out of the rock, All that had to be done was speak to the rock, when we can have faith like God wants us to have, all we have to do is speak to our problem.
    A Word to POFW: Let’s build our faith and allow God to do what he wants in this generation!

  8. God is powerful….
    Thankyou Jesus for rearranging things in my life that wasnt supposed to be there. I love you Jesus even when. I dont understand why it happened. But i know that you are an awsome God and i will always love and obey you.

  9. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING is possible in HIS PRESENCE!!!!! Do not ever lose HOPE, WAIT upon the LORD HE CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING!!!!!

  10. the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom. (‭Psalms‬ ‭114‬:‭2‬ NLT)
    Praise GOD!
    Let’s come together to praise and worship the KING of kings, to invite His Holy presence at POFW this morning.

    Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ KJV)

  11. 6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

    7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    At the sound of your great name Lord mountains will bow and seas will roar. In the presence of you bondages are loosed and captives are set free. There is no one greater then you.

  12. A heart of stone and a heart if God

    Psalms 114:8
    Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of water.

    This verse reminds me of people when used like an allegory. People with stony hearts can be made soft when rivers of living water come to the heart. It plant the seed and we water it but God brings the growth. While we can’t change stony hearts with theological discussions, we can tear down the walls with prayer.

    The walls of Jericho fell at the shout of praise, but before that there was seven days of silence. Sometimes so it is with our hearts. In solitude god breaks us down.

  13. The CEV caption for this chapter says “The Lord Works Wonders”. Through all of this awesomeness and miraculous, the people could still not see His presence. There are still many who cannot see His wonderous works and it is our job to speak it, live it and show it. There is nothing impossible with Jesus.

  14. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    The earth Trembles at the presence of God, how awesome to feel the presence of God. It’s through him that all things are possible. God is great he shows up in the mist of your troubles, I trust in you Lord. Lord you shine when your presence moves mountains that get in the way of praise and worship.

  15. v1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

    LORD , I Praise YOU and thank YOU !
    As we take time and reflect on our Exodus
    that YOU oh LORD have made possible .
    I am Victorous through CHRIST JESUS!

    i Am free from bondage.
    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iRejoice

  16. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    There are many reasons why to make a sanctuary of praise where The Lord can dwell in. Coming out from the world in which we are trapped in a small block cell. there we are tossed by chains of addiction or many other kinds of bondage, but The Lord broke us free. There is nothing that can stand against The Lord. I will make a dwelling place for The Lord with a life style of continual praise. Praise at all times and I’m all situations. If he can cause the sea to flee and everything tremble at his presence..I want to make sure He is where I am.

    Psalm 22:3King James Version (KJV)

    3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

  17. NLT – 1 When the Israelites escaped from Egypt—
    when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—
    2 the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary,
    and Israel became his kingdom.
    3 The Red Sea[a] saw them coming and hurried out of their way!
    The water of the Jordan River turned away.
    4 The mountains skipped like rams,

    The Red Sea hurried out of their way, the water of Jordan River turned away…..It had to because of the authority and Dominion they had because of Praise.

    When Praise becomes like the very life within us, we live it, we breathe, it is who we are, and what we are, then we have the dominion over every thing ….

  18. What ailed thee?

    The word ailed means trouble, or afflict. What troubled or afflicted the red sea that it split in two to allow the children of Israel to cross into deliverance?

    If the sea, river, mountains, and hills will move at the command of Jesus then how much more should his people?

  19. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion

    Pastor talked about how Judah was praise and that praise and worship should be the Lord’s sanctuary. This verse teaches us that before we ever walk into the house of God praise should already be on our mouth. We should bring the praises that we have had all week into His house so that when the music starts the whole place erupts with crazy praise!

  20. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    Praise was his sanctuary. When The Lord is looking for a dwelling place he should find one in our hearts. When we praise The Lord it gives him a place to come. Israel was his dominion, that means that Israel was what he had government/rule over. Jacob was not his dominion, but Israel Israel is what Jacob become after a struggle which brought him closer to God. Maybe God will have dominion in our lives after we battle for a whole and get a closer relationship with JESUS too. (We may even get a new name from the event too.)

  21. Tremble thou earth ! 1. WHEN Is’-ra-el went out of E’-gypt, the house of Ja’-cob from a people of strange language; 2. Ju’-dah was his sanctuary, and Is’-ra-el his dominion. Exod. 6 : 7 3. The sea saw it, and fled: Jor’-dan was driven back. Exod. 14 : 21 4. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. 5. What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jor’-dan, that thou wast driven back? 6. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? 7. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Ja’-cob; 8. Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters. Exod. 17 : 6 I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS !!!!

  22. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
    God is the almighty. He has all power and authority. He has given us dominion and authority over our lives and our family members. He has also given our church dominion over Fort Worth. No more slave mentality, negative self esteem or tearing down others. We are what we think about. I want to keep my mind,spirit, heart ,body and mouth focused on Jesus and the Victory bought by his BLOOD.
