Psalm 118

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

4 Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

5 I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

7 The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.

11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

12 They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.

14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

18 The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord:

20 This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter.

21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

23 This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.

27 God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

There are days that are used for pagan worship, they even” name” the day like they own it!!! GOD NEVER CREATED A DAY TO CELEBRATE SUCH!!!
HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY WHO IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  2. In my distress I prayed to the LORD, and the LORD answered me and set me free. (‭Psalms‬ ‭118‬:‭5‬ NLT)

*You came to me Jesus when I was nothing but then you picked me up and made me brand new and whole all over again. Only you know God. Thank you!

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (‭Psalms‬ ‭118‬:‭29‬ NLT)

*Thank you Jesus. You have captured my heart with this love. I love others because you first loved me. I know your love is so promising and never
    Ending! It’s guaranteed.

  3. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.4 Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.5 I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?7 The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

  4. 6. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

    7. The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

When God is on your side, there is nothing to fear because there is none that can oppose Him. He has no equal and cannot be defeated! God has no part with evil, so let’s make sure we are living a life that is acceptable to Him so that He will be on our side!

  5. 22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

The stone which the builders refused. This stone was not good enough in man’s measurement, it was not what people were looking for. Many people set out today looking for salvation in the wrong places. Searching for the wrong things from God, instead of looking at the word and accepting what the book said.
Yes Jesus was rejected in the house of his friends. He went unto his own and his own received him not. The Israeli’s were looking for The Messiah in another form, so they crucified Jesus and looked upon him as a traitor. In which according to scriptures they carried out the will of God and Jesus was not offered as sacrifice for our sins.We should carefully examine what is laid before us and see if it is true with the Word. We need to remove old wives fables from our doctrine!

  6. 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

    Thank you jesus
For your everlasting love your amazing grace and mercy ❤

  7. 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Omg so true. So when people put me down I smile because he’s on my side and I don’t need you liking me in the first place. 😏😏

  8. 28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

This is where Lucifer messed up. He said in his heart that he would exalt himself, and be like God.

We must continue to stay humble, and exalt Jesus. When we continue to praise and exalt Him, He will draw all men unto Himself. We need to stay committed, and stand firm that no matter what happens, and no matter where we might fall, we will get back up and continue to praise the one true king, JESUS.

The word tells us that we can only have one master, and through determination, we can keep our eyes fixed on our God, Jesus.

  9. It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. (‭Psalm‬ ‭118‬:‭8-9‬ AMP)
I’ve experienced life, and have been disappointed in my life many times by the ones that I have dearly loved, those that are closest to me, those in whom I’ve “confided” in. Then one day I realized they’re just as human as I am…. Duh!!! Just as I have failed many of you, I have received my share of failures within myself.

But to GOD I give all the glory, it’s part of life, lesson learned!!!! I can now say that I have learned to TRUST in GOD himself, I can go to Him and know that he is there for me and desires the best for me.
So why put my trust in man, when I know that everything that I need us in the right hand of Jehovah. He is my ROCK, my Strength, my HEALER, my PEACE, my JOY, my STRONG REFUGE, my DELIVERER!!!
    GLORIA A DIOS!!!!! Woohoo!!!!
It brings me much Joy when I think about The Lord 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
    HALLELUJAH !!!!!!

  10. 8 Far better to take refuge in God than trust in people; 9 Far better to take refuge in God than trust in celebrities MSG
God is my strength and refuge without him I am nothing. When things start go wrong and I have no where to go I go to the one that can help me and his name is JESUS!!!! Men will let you down but God will never fail us! We may fail God but God never fails us, when we fall get back up dust off the dirt and keep on going.

  11. 22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

Christ is that stone, the corner stone, our foundation. Praise be the name of the Lord.

  12. 1, “O GIVE thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.”
2, “Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.”
3, “Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.”
4, “Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new ever morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

GOD is GOOD ALL the TIME, and ALL the TIME, GOD is GOOD!!
I GIVE THANKS unto the LORD, for He is SO GOOD. His MERCY endureth for ever. It is only by the MERCY of God that we are not consumed, but His Compassion, Care, Concern, and Love for us never fail. His MERCY, COMPASSION, and LOVE are NEW EVERY MORNING. What a GOOD and FAITHFUL GOD WE SERVE!!

This is the day which the LORD hath made; I will REJOICE and be GLAD in it!

  13. 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Thank You Jesus for another day You have made and blessed us with! Hallelujah, Praise The Lord!

  14. 13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.
14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

The Lord is always there it is evident through answered prayers, moments of peace during times of trial, and the opportunity to take a breath each morning. He is my strength, song, and my salvation!

  15. “Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.” They thought they were doomed, and then; “The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.” One may think that one’s situation is hopeless, however one that obeys God (Jesus) will also see as they did; “Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.” What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  16. Loving kindness is forever

    Psalms 118:2
Oh let Israel say, “His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

The psalmist reminds us repeatedly that Gods loving kindness is everlasting. When we feel down all we have to remind ourselves of how much God loves us. Then we praise our way out of the problem by acknowledging Jesus Christ as the almighty. Out victory comes at the heels of our praise.

  17. 4 Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

5 I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

I’m thankful for a merciful God that is always by my side!

  18. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

This is what the sound of praise should be like always. Praising Him for our salvation that He so freely gave us, as well as, praising Him for the things that He has gave us victory over past, present and what He is going to give us victory over in the future.

With this in mind, there should NEVER be a dull praise service in the sanctuary!

  19. THE PATH TO PROMOTION

22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Rejection usually indicates an end to a relationship or negotiation. Rejection is one of the most challenging emotions to deal with. Most people respond to rejection with resentment and anger. We are taught here to see rejection as an opportunity for promotion. As I look back over my life in walking with JESUS, I can relate to and even testify that when I have been rejected it has been THE PATH TO PROMOTION.

The psalmist is speaking of The stone that was refused or rejected. Consider how that applies to the Kingdom, our LORD and even our lives.

Matthew 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
    19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
    20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

1Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

THE PATH TO PROMOTION is rejection. When the world, its system and people reject a believer in JESUS, the LORD of GLORY utilizes that opportunity to promote the believer according to our FAITH in him. So long as our success is built on HIM.

  21. Checkup

14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

Sometimes we just need a checkup from the neck up. We’re all acquainted with the idea of the common cold; it’s annoying, you don’t feel good, but you just kinda trudge along through it and try to do your best in spite of it. I think that’s sometimes how we get spiritually. We don’t necessarily have something huge getting on us, but it’s like a little cold that just kinda makes us feel “off” from our usual self. We may be still shouting and praising and coming to church but don’t have quite the same joy and bounce in our step, we feel a bit sluggish, we can’t seem to quite grasp that same intensity of enthusiasm in things…

But I like how Psalm 42 puts it:

    Psalm 42:11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

“Whoa, hold up, Self! What’s going on here?”

Sometimes when we have a cold, it lasts long enough or gets annoying enough that we go on in to the doctor for a checkup. But they may not do much directly because the common cold is one of those things you have to overcome on your own. They will probably tell you get good rest and drink lots of fluids (pray in the Holy Ghost), get your vitamins and eat well (read the Word), and take some over-the-counter medicines to help with symptoms like congestion (take inventory and get rid of the worldly, carnal junk that likes to naturally build up during day-to-day living.) But even more than just doing those things, there comes a point where you must make up in your mind “I’m not staying like this, I’m coming out!”

16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

It’s when we shake ourselves and *give ourselves* that reality check that we seem to be suffering from a little spiritual cold that we can start moving to get things back in order. A spiritual cold isn’t usually about us needing a special touch from God but us giving ourselves a checkup from the neck up and doing what we know to do to restore the vibrancy we once walked in.

It can creep on us slowly and if we aren’t careful it can become a way of living. Ever notice how when we get sick and can’t do everything like normal we sometimes suffer from post-cold laziness afterwards? The I-feel-better-now-but-I-kinda-enjoyed-that-break-from-my-responsibilities-and-don’t-want-to-go-back-quite-yet lag when we have to rediscipline ourselves to get back to living life? That’s the power of a cold to throw us off even if we get over the initial bug that bit us. But we have the power to step up and out and walk victorious over whatever little foxes might try to spoil the vine, and it starts in our mind with that self-checkup and decision to not stay down.

14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

  22. 13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.

Mercy is not getting what you deserve. Grace is getting what we don’t deserve. When we are in distress or fearful His mercy endures. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Tim 1:7). Mercy is not going to hell for our sins. Grace is the oportunity to apply the blood of Jesus to our lives, and join Him in His eternal kingdom of heaven.

Micah 7:8 “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”

  23. iLove to eat the Word

    “The Mercy of God”

Our God is an Awesome God and one thing for sure is that His mercy endures forever.

    Mercy-
    From H2616;
kindness; by implication (towards God) piety; rarely (by opprobrium) reproof, or (subjectively) beauty: – favour, good deed (-liness, -ness), kindly, (loving-) kindness, merciful (kindness), mercy, pity, reproach, wicked thing.

We have entered into the favor of the Lord. Pray that we continue in the favor of the Lord and walk worthy of His calling.

  24. Psalms 118:22-24
22 The stone which the builders refusedis become the head stone of the corner. 23 This is the Lord’s doing;it is marvellous in our eyes. 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made;we will rejoice and be glad in it.

This is the day of salvation. A day or mercy, forgiveness, and grace. This is the day The Lord has made. He fashioned this day where we have access to him! I will rejoice and be glad in it!

  25. Psalm 118:1-18

Let us seek to live to declare the works of God, and to encourage others to serve him and trust in him.

  26. v29. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is. good : for his mercy endureth for ever.

    GOD’s goodness leadeth ( continually )
us to repentance. That ‘s the evidence of HIS GREAT MERCY. HE does not bless because we deserve it, but GOD shows us HIS LOVE even when we do not deserve it.

  27. 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This a commandment. Do it. This the day The Lord has made for you. So be glad in it.

  28. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4 Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let PoFW now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
When PoFW began to extend our tents The Lord provided for our STRETCH! He provided new members and committed saints for our stretch. He has gone before Pofw as we have purchased a new property. He has given us direction and unity as we have worked at impacting our future together. He has proved himself mighty as we gave sacrificially. He has been merciful through vacation Bible school and the addition of new children to the kingdom. He has given clear vision to guide us back to the doctrine to increase his kingdom. Thank you for the wisdom of our older saints!

Let PoFW now say, that his mercy endureth for ever!

  29. The Lord has made a day of prosperity!

24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

When we are stressed about life and all it brings with it we have to remember that God has made a day of prosperity. God wants to see what we are going to do with what we have before he gives us what he has. The day if prosperity is just waiting on is to prove to Gid that he can trust us with the blessing that he wants for us.

  30. answered me, and set me in a large place.

6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

7 The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

The writer knows that God is on his side therefore there no fear can stop him. The spirit of fear to stop and hinder the move of God but God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power of love and of a sound mind. He also knows that God still exacts revenge upon his enemies just the way he wants God to, God will do the same for us as well as long as we serve him

  31. O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good. His mercy endureth forever.
I shall not die,but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
The Lord is my strength and my song, and is become my salvation.
O Lord Jesus I am so full of GRATITUDE. Your mercy and love endureth forever.

  32. 17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

18 The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

I praise God for the correctors he has placed in my life. Correction is vital to growth and if you do not have authority in your life to direct, correct and discipline you’re doing something wrong. We all need guidance.

If you can use anything Lord you can use me!

  33. 22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

The Lord is our cornerstone. Our firm foundation. We cannot build or establish anything without having the Lord be the foundation of it. He is the secure firm Rock. He will not be moved as the things in this earth move. If we stand upon him whatever we build will not be shaken by the enemy. The foundation of of our lives, whether a home, marriage, school, carrier, business, Jesus, will make sure we stand as we stand upon the Word and his principles. Whatever we are building in life make sure Jesus edifies.

  34. Save Lord, and Send It?…………….

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

  35. 4 Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Mercy belongs to each saint of God. It’s fresh & new each morning. As we repent each day we claim this promise of mercy-even the sure mercies of David.

  36. 28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Lord I praise your holy name in the good and in the bad times. I thank you for all you do and for what you are about to do in advance. Thank you Lord for your love and your mercy. I am victorious in Jesus Name.

  37. His mercy endureth for ever 1. O GIVE thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 1 Chron. 16 : 8 2. Let Is’-ra-el now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Ps. 115 : 9 3. Let the house of Aa’-ron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4. Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 29. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Ps. 118 : 1 I AM VICTORIOUS !!!! I thank you Jesus for everything you have done for me!!!! THANK YOU FOR MERCY !!!!

  38. Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. (‭Psalms‬ ‭118‬:‭28-29‬ KJV)

David makes it very personal in these verses. Thou art MY God … I WILL praise and exalt thee!!
