Psalm 145

1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.

15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

  1. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

This is why it is imperative that we share our testimony and His Word, miracle, and wonders!!!!! So Go, tell it on the mountain, make disciples like .

  2. 15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

One of the hardest things to do is wait on God, the other is to be vigilant when and ready to receive when your season comes.
It’s a conditional verse, only those that WAIT upon God will receive meat in due season.

Lord I will wait upon you, and I will be hungry, so when my season comes my hunger for you will not let it pass me by.

    Psalms 73:25
Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.

  3. Each generation will announce to the next your wonderful and powerful deeds. (‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭4‬ CEVDCUS06)
There is an opportunity to always speak about the goodness of GOD, take advantage of your time with your children, speak truth(the word of God) into their lives. That they may continue to speak about The Lord unto their children from generation to generation to come.

  4. YES!!!
20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
THIS VERSE IS THE ONE VERSE THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE AND OTHER DOCTRINES WILL PROBABLY OVER LOOK!!!
THIS IS ONE REASON WHY WE ARE TO BE SET APART, FEAR THE LORD, BLESS HIS NAME AND BE OBEDIENT!!!
OOOOOO MY JESUS, I PRAISE YOU FOR YOU ARE GREAT AND GREATLY TO BE PRAISED!!! HALELUJAH!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  5. 1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

    Praise the Lord always.

  6. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Great is the Lord, our God is a great God, redeemer, king, and deliverer of all things. God is even greater than we can find out, his greatness is unsearchable.
God is more powerful than we can imagine, we talk sometimes about God and his great power and strength not realizing how powerful he really is.

God spoke the world into existence, what great power. Why do we think doing great exploits is such a task for God? Rolling back the Red Sea was nothing for God. Making time stand still a drop in the bucket for our God.

It is time we realized who we serve and praise him because of his excellent greatness. Declare his works to all generations, God inhabits the praises of his people. God enjoys us telling people about his exploits, brag on your God. He can do all things.

Do we believe what we preach and declare, nothing is to hard for God!

  7. Gracious

    Psalms 145:8
    The Lord is gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.

An archaic meaning for gracious is acceptable. He accepts us with his mercy. His anger is not quick and he is kind. This world needs to see Jesus for who he truly is. This can only happen if we show Him through or actions and words.

May today be full of grace as Christ is formed in you.

  8. 8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

    11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

  9. 16. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

What a big God! He holds the desire of every living thing in His hand. All He has to do is open His hand and let the desires of our heart fall into our lives if we will just ask for them and live according to His Word.

  10. tLove to eat the Word

(Psa 145:18) The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

The Lord is near to all those who call on him in truth. This is one good reason (among many others) that we ought to allows tell the truth. When we walk in truth the word says God is near us. Which the opposite is true if we are living a lie. He will be far from us.

    near H7138
    קָרֹב קָרוֹב
    qârôb qârôb
    kaw-robe’, kaw-robe’
From H7126; near (in place, kindred or time): – allied, approach, at hand, + any of kin, kinsfolk (-sman), (that is) near (of kin), neighbour, (that is) next, (them that come) nigh (at hand), more ready, short (-ly).
    Total KJV occurrences: 77

God can either be close or very far away. It all depends on our commitment.

  11. 20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

This one of the reasons why we need to pray ,fast, and read the bible get right with God..
Yeah .we all make mistakes but not everyday then repent afterwards ..then what kind of example would we be setting for our family, friends or those around us..
Everywere we goes a test the people we meet things trying to catch our attention the past will try and come and take us back but we have one thing the world doesnt have and its Jesus and the Holy spirit to help us..and by doing so we got our testimony people we knew then that know our part of the story and see us now..the way we dress..
We can make a difference in this world and help those..but first we got to ask ourselfs…Are we right wjth God? Are we doing what were supposed to?

  12. EVERY DAY!

2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

There is something powerful about faithfulness and consistency. When we consider all of ht broken promises and unfaithful circumstances of life we greater appreciate the faithfulness of GOD.

The simple commitment of the psalmist here is convicting and life changing in the fact that GOD has so good to mankind and HIS hope in being so merciful to us is that we will BLESS HIM EVERY DAY and PRIASE HIM continually. Look for every opportunity to PRAISE the LORD and BLESS (adore and bend down before) the LORD our GOD.

EVERY DAY, because HE is faithful, I will be FAITHFUL.

    Thank you JESUS.

  13. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

This chapter reminds me of a catch phrase when I was a child “whatcha you talking about?” If we would daily put the principles of this chapter into action, talk about him daily, continually remember the mighty acts He has done and rehearse them over and over again to other, building Him up and building up their faith, we could change the atmosphere around us. Too many times we fill our minds with and talk about frivolous things that have no value, but to continually tell of His goodness would bring new light to our lives and a different thought pattern to our minds.

Deuteronomy 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

  14. God is here for us, always and forever. He doesn’t give us blessings to hide under a rock. We should share the mighty works that God has done in our lives. Our testimony is our story to tell!

God I thank you for my testimony. I have fallen short of doing your will but with you I shall rise! Thank you Jesus!

  15. 19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Some might read this and conclude they can have whatever they want. In a sense that is correct. However what one wants – who fear Him – is different than what one wants who does not fear Him. When we seek after the Lord our desires change. Years ago my “wish-list” was very carnal and full of things that likely would not assist me in getting to heaven; much less anyone else. The relationship that I now have has changed my desires.

I am not perfect. I am still just a man. My desires are more heavenly minded than they used to be though. I know that I should not do or go certain places. Not because those places are sinful or I will commit certain sins if I go there. It is the submersion into that environment that causes me to lose focus. When my attention is turned or my focus distracted I can lose the mind of Christ. So, I have to carefully consider my urges to succumb to my fleshly desires and verify that the Lord will be there with me.

  16. The generation of apathy

4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Apathy-lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern.

Why would a generation be so unmoved by the word of God? How could someone feel so numb about everything he has done for us?

    2 Timothy 1
2 To Timothy, [my] dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
    3 I thank God, whom I serve from [my] forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
    4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

There has to be someone like Paul in each of our lives. Someone that has the passion to not only teach us by his experiences but someone that will take the time to experience with us. Someone has to have a burden not only for lost souls of their own generation but of those lost souls to come. If the passion of this faith is not translated through the generation it only takes a little thing to make us leave God or be apathetic about his work. The thing is that the patriarchs had real experiences with God. They saw him raise the dead, part the seas, swallow tribes up into the ground, walk on water, heal the sick…. We hear the stories and we tell then to our children, but if we don’t experience those things for ourselves our children will understand the difference in our passion about those things.

It is the lack if experience with God that causes generations to become apathetic. The only way to ensure that our children do not become apathetic is to lead them in An experience with Him to a point that they experience Him for themselves. When that happens they will be just like us and unable to grow numb because of the power that is represented in there lives.

It is very hard to fall asleep at the wheel when your in the race if your life.

  17. 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

The word nigh means near in space, time ,and relation. So when we call on him he is near. So just say the name of Jesus. He will come to you. He is here right now with you.

  18. One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. -Psalms 145:4

I shall praise the Lord for he is good. I am a one God Apostolic, buried in the wonderful name of Jesus.

May all of my future generations proclaim and declare that he is God alone.

  19. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. (‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭3‬ NLT)

No one and I said no one can measure his greatness. Thank you Jesus you don’t know like I know what he’s done for me. He is worthy of praise

  20. 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

.Our minds are too simple to completely understand the magnificence of His holy works. He has a purpose for everything He does and if we push aside our wants and needs and watch a little more carefully you may see more of His greatness.

God I want to know more of you, I want to see your great and holy works!

  21. Psalm 145:21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

The conclusion of this Psalm is a renewal of the call to praise.

Psalm 145:3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known?
hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

  22. The only psalm with this title in the entire collection praises God for his mighty acts . His gracious character and the glory of his coming Kindom. Our loving Lord shows his care for his own who praise him in return.

  23. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

Let everything that hath breath praise The Lord.

  24. 1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

I love the enthusiasm of this chapter. He states for confident that he will praise the name of the Lord everyday and forever then he immediately states praising him. He also talks about how generations will sit around and discuss how great God is and what He has done.

Have you every thought a joke was so funny that the whole time you are telling it you are laughing yet trying to get it out. Well, these verses reminds me of times in my life God has done something so great that before I can finish telling what He has done I have to stop to give Him praise.

he woke… (Hallelujah, thank you Jesus, Glory to God) me up this moring! 🙂

  25. 1 I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever.
2 I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever.
3 Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. (NLT)

“Give Him the glory, Give Him praise! He woke me up this morning, and started me on my way! Give Him the glory, Give Him praise!” Hallelujah, I thank God for blessing us with another day of life, another day to set out and do the works of His kingdom and be a light for this world to see and follow.

  26. Great Great Greatness

    Psalms 145:3 (KJV Strong’s)
    3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
    and his greatness is unsearchable.

Great means ever reaching, far superior, above, and beyond. It also implies to make bigger, larger, and magnify in the mind! When we say God is great it doesn’t just mean a compliment. It reveals he awesome power, and ability to do anything and everything.

Greatly to be praised means he is worthy of vehement, passionate, speedily, and loudly. He isn’t worthy of just any praise but the greatest most exuberant, most radical praise we can imagine!

His greatness is his dignity, might acts, riches, deep things, and glory are unsearchable. We haven’t even scratched the surface of his awesomeness!

Francis Chan said “Not being able to fully understand God is frustrating but it is ridiculous for us to think we have the right to limit God to something we are capable of comprehending. What a stunted, insignificant god that would be! If my mind is the size of a soda can and God is the size of all the oceans, it would be stupid for me to say He is only the small amount of water I can scoop into my little can. God is so much bigger, so far beyond our time-encased, air/food/sleep-dependent lives.”

  27. v3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised ; and his greatness is unsearchable.

HE IS KING of kings and LORD of lords!
GOD SUSTAINS the world by the same power with which HE created it……
HIS WORD!!! All powerful and omnipotent .
GOD IS GREAT AND GREATLY TO BE
    PRAISED!!!

JESUS, Today, YOU will SAVE me !
    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
iRejoice for your greatness and power !

  28. 15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

Gods provision is in due season. It’s always on time and it is enough. We can’t pry open Gods hand we just have to wait on Gods timing.

  29. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

At the sound of your great name Lord every knee will bow and every tounge will confess you Lord. I thank you for all that you do, your praise will continually be in my mouth!

  30. 8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

How could we be saved without great mercy? While yet a sinner, he had mercy on us and gave us all the tine & chance to repent and be born again. He declares that when we fall we have an advocate with the Father-all due to his being slow to anger. Through the preaching we are shown our sins & shortcomings and again are given time & chance to repent! Praise God for his tender mercies over all his works!

  31. 1, “I WILL extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.”
2, “Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.”
3, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.”

Our God is Great, and Greatly to be Praised!!
EVERYDAY I will extol (raise up, lift up, to praise highly) Him!
EVERYDAY I will bless (to worship; glorify; praise) Him!
EVERYDAY I will praise (to laud the glory of; glorify, extol) Him!

We serve an Awesome God who is worthy of ALL Glory and Honor and Praise.

  32. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.
We need to share our testimony, because God brought us out for a reason♡

  33. The LORD is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. (‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭8-9‬ NLT)

I pray Lord that you would baptize us with your Compassion. That would move us to do radical things to increase the kingdom. We have the power to turn this world upside down in these last days. Scripture after scripture tells of Jesus being moved by compassion opening a blind eyes. Being moved by compassion and ministering (Matt. 9:36, 14:14, 15:32). We can make a difference.

And of some have compassion, making a difference: (‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬ KJV)

But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ KJV)

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: (‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ KJV)

  34. 19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

When it talks about him filling our.desires its not.talking about the selfish things we.wish would happen in our lives. If you fear God then you have reverence towards him. Heathens and workers of iniquity who are filled with their own self will do not fear God. So at this point its safe to say that a saint of God would fear him, and a.saint is someone who is living for God and if you are living for God in spirit and in truth than we can agree that he has changed you in some way. God changes our desires and makes us to want heavenly things. Our desires should be to be with him, not a new car or a new job, allthough it is ok to want those things a desire is so much more than that, we should desire to be in his presence. That is something he never fails to fufill. Jesus thank you, because today you will save me

  35. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Great is my Lord and I praise Him for all He has done and is going to do in my life!

  36. 18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Hallelujah Jesus! I will praise you everyday because you are faithful to me. I will bless your holy name because there is no other name that is higher Jesus! Hear my cry Lord for I not desire the things of the world but eternal life with you. Guard my soul Jesus for all my Trust is in you!!!! 🙂

  37. 5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

I praise God in everything I do. A lot of people don’t realize where the real credit needs to go. I pray that God works through me to open up the eyes of those around us, so they may understand and see the wonders that God works in our lives every single day. Praise be to the ONE TRUE GOD!

  38. “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.” The Creator (Jesus) knows all including the heart. As such one desiring more of the Lord (Jesus) need only seek, which he can be found in his word. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  39. Truth or not

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭18

The Lord will be near to those who call on him in truth. It makes me cringe to think of someone who would half heartedly call on the name of The Lord just to see if this thing really works.

Truth calling builds faith. Daniel called on The Lord in truth. His commitment to God made the king change.

The three Hebrew boys stepped in to the furnace where The Lord was near to them.

We need to continue to build our holy faith that reminds us of how close he is when we call.

  40. The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

    11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
In this chapter of verses it’s shows how our greatest example..Jesus is to us full of compassion, slow to anger, merciful. Time and time again as we look over our life’s many times we should have Gods wrath turned on us but didn’t. Yet still it is hard for us to forgive people or pick choose who we want to forgive.
We need to let the whole world know that this is the kind of God we serve. A God that is a healer,a provider, a deliver. A God that is your anchor in the middle of your storm! A God that knows what you want or need before you even ask!
WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!!!

  41. Psalm 145:4 One generation shall praise Your works to another,And shall declare Your mighty acts.

It is up to us to spread this gospel.  It’s our duty and we owe it to every one we know to share the Love, Jesus, and his good news of salvation.  We have to teach and tell them what the The Lord has done for us. We have to share a way of life that leads to our creator, and Lord.  If our younger generations fail wouldn’t it be because we failed to share the message and the goodness of our Lord Jesus?  Lord I pray you continually give me a boldness to be able to share your good works and the message of salvation. Let me tell them with enthusiastic passion..I have found the messiah!!  He is The Lord Jesus… In Jesus name

  42. Infirmity

    Psalm 145:14 NLT
The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.

    Matthew 8:17
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

    2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The word “infirmity” is used in the NT to refer both to sickness and the innate weakness of the flesh. Jesus does not abandon us in our weakness but gives us grace and works through our infirmities to bring glory to Himself. The key, however, is surrendering the weakness to His hands that He would bare our infirmities and His strength would be made perfect in their place.

  43. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

Without me declaring His greatness, and showing my family His great and mighty acts, they will lose it. They will never know the mighty Jesus, who saves, who delivers the oppressed, who parts seas, who made the heavens…

I would have to ask, I they are not learning about His greatness from me, then what are they learning from me? Hat about the others around me? Around them?

  44. Bless thy name! I WILL extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!!!!! I will bless your name at all times your GOOD!!!!

  45. You can’t find an end to his greatness…unsearchable. His mercy is great, and slow to anger. “Awesome God we serve/love”….

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

    “He is AWESOME”………………

  46. GREAT IS THE LORD !!!
HE IS KING of kings and LORD of lords.
GOD sustains the world by the same power with which HE created it… HIS WORD!
    All powerful and omnipotent !

JESUS , Today YOU will Save Me !!!

  47. 18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

    The lord is great always.

  48. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. 9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works
