Psalm 147

1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.

Sing unto the LORD a new song!!!! Praise him in all things!!!! For he is good!!!

  2. The power of his word is “VERY SWIFTLY”, and you thought it takes forever….NOT MY GOD!

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
    __________________________________________
Once again the power of his word is accomplished in the form of power God desires. Melting power, or anyway God desires. His WORD will not return void, it will accomplish for which he sent it.

    “With His Designated Power”…………………….

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

    “Holdfast”……………………………………………..

  3. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

When someone is hurting and can’t find anything. My cardiologist thanked me for always praying; my answer is when some thing breaks you always want to take it to inventor. No one can fix it like MY Jesus

  4. 10. He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

    11. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

God is not impressed with our strength; when we need strength beyond common abilities, we call upon Him, who has all power:

    Judges 16:28 KJV
And Samson called unto the Lord , and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

    1 Samuel 17:37 KJV
David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

  5. The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

The lord knows even every star by name. He takes the wounded and broken hearted the outcasts of this world and makes them whole again. Never judge someone from their past you don’t know what God has planned for their future.

  6. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

    Job 5:8
For he wounds but he also binds up he injuries but his hands also heals.

He desires for us to come to him with a broken and contrite spirit that He may mold us. It is my desire to always be able to allow him to transform me continually into who He needs me to be.

  7. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

The Lord has great pleasure in them that fear him! Having a fear of God is important to us in our walk with God. We must have a great respect for God and his word and understand what the fear of God means to our growth.
We must have a fear of God if we move forward everyday and hope for mercy at the end of our walk.

  8. 7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Woke up this morning singing, with my praise I build a house, with my worship I let him in. God has been to good to us for us not to have a song to sing. God doesn’t check to see if he can find our note on the piano, he just want us to sing. It’s the anointing that makes the difference.

  9. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

    Comely- comely, beautiful, seemly

Hallelujah Jesus I will go unto your house today and sing praises unto you because you are great, mighty, powerful, omnipotent, and merciful. Lift me up Jesus for I need your strength. I lift your name on high Jesus!!

7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

  10. God who hills the brokenhearted sustains the universe itself by its power.God who supplies the living on earth takes delight in those wwo feare him and grants them peace God who controls all by his word has blessed Israel Praise the Lord.

  11. iLove to eat the Word

    Praise the Lord

(Psalms 147:1) Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
(Psalms 147:2) The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

Just in Psalms 147:1 there are 3 different words translated “Praise” from the Hebrew.

The first word praise is H1984

    הָלַל
    hâlal
    haw-lal’
A primitive root; to be clear (originally of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence to make a show; to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causatively to celebrate; also to stultify: – (make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool (-ish, -ly), glory, give [light], be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, [sing, be worthy of] praise, rage, renowned, shine.
    Total KJV occurrences: 165

The second word praise is H2167

    זָמַר
    zâmar
    zaw-mar’
A primitive root (perhaps identical with H2168 through the idea of striking with the fingers); properly to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument, that is, play upon it; to make music, accompanied by the voice; hence to celebrate in song and music: – give praise, sing forth praises, psalms.
    Total KJV occurrences: 46

and the third word praise is H8416

    תְּהִלָּה
    tehillâh
    teh-hil-law’
From H1984; laudation; specifically (concretely) a hymn: – praise.
    Total KJV occurrences: 57

Knowing these facts makes the Word come alive and puts salt on the word as you eat it. BOOM

  12. “The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.” One does not impress the Lord (Jesus) with self, one will however gain his attention with reverence and humbleness. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  13. Praise the Lord , for it is good to sing praises to our God! Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate! -Psalms 147:1

Today and everyday it is good for us to praise the Lord!

The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel. -Psalms 147:2

He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds. -Psalms 147:3

Today let him heal your hurt and rebuild the areas of your life that have fallen down.

Our Lord is great and has awesome power; there is no limit to his wisdom. -Psalms 147:5

I am confident in my God, I trust him for he knows my end.

I follow carefully after you, and trust in the wisdom of your word.

  14. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Do you need healing in your heart? I once read that our mind treats a broken heart just like a broken bone, it’s a very real pain that takes just as long to heal if not longer. Sometimes we may try to dismiss our own broken hearts and try to convince ourselves that whatever happened doesn’t really matter. But God knows our pain. He’s ready and waiting to heal us. We just need to open up, tear down the walls, admit the hurt and accept the healing.

  15. GREAT GOD

Considering the vast possibilities and opportunities of our Great GOD, this chapter reveals so much potential to the believer. From the intimate needs of the human HEART and its frailties, to the number and names of EVERY single STAR. Knowing that there is nothing that we will ever face that JESUS does not understand. How JESUS lifts up the humble in heart and slams to the ground the proud heart.

All of these possibilities feed the PASSION in my HEART to PRAISE the LORD our GOD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  16. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

There’s no God like our God, he is an unchanging God, he did miricles back then and he is still doing them today!

  17. 18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

This scripture gives us one key into having the spirit of God flow through in our lives. Of course we need to pray to God daily in our lives. We also need to read the word of God every day. For when we eat his word, we know God a little deeper and we learn his ways and which path he wants us to take in our everyday lives.

And for when we read the word of God, it allows to work in us and allows his spirit to flow through our lives.

  18. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. (‭Psalms‬ ‭147‬:‭3‬ KJV)
The Lord does heal the broken hearted, and does bind their wounds!
It takes faith in Him, in order for this to happen. The sad thing is that many people lack faith in GOD, or simply have gone so far deep in their sin, that they see no way out. They feel as if there is no hope, why try, why seek, why pray, why even ask, there is no reason why to cry out unto GOD.
That’s just another lie of the enemy himself. Whatever he can do in order for us, as individuals be-bound . You have to make up in your mind and say ” JESUS, today, you will save me.” We all have been given a measure of faith, and it’s up to us to activate our faith toward GOD!! Get up and speak His word, and you’ll begin to feel free, healed, and having a sound mind in Him! Faith takes action…. Move!!
    “Faith without works is dead.”

  19. 7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Never forget to say thank you. Just as it is polite to say thank you to all who have helped you. So be thankful. And praise his holy name

  20. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

Praise his Name! I am VICTORIOUS!!!

  21. He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. (‭Psalms‬ ‭147‬:‭3‬ NKJV)

The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy. (‭Psalms‬ ‭147‬:‭11‬ NKJV)

  22. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

My God is the great physician. He can heal all wounds

  23. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

He Lifted Us Up Although We Didnt Deserve It He Healed Us From Our Troubles And Pain He Lighs Up Our Path When Darkness Starts To Surround He Gave His Life To Us And Died For Our Horrible Doing….Lord Thank You ❤ For Everything This Day Yet again You Have Given To Us The Breath Inside Us And Another Wonderful Day To Be Able To Praise And Worship Your Wonderful Glorious Name ❤
    Suziey&Linda

  24. Yes!!!
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

    HALELUJAH!!!
MY GOD KNOWS THE STARS BY NAME. MAN HE FORMED WITH HIS HANDS!!! WHO ARE WE THAT THE CREATOR OF NOT ONLY THE WORLD BUT THE UNIVERSE (whom could have just spoken us into existence) WOULD RATHER TAKE THE TIME TO FORM US AND KNOW OUR NAME TOOOOOOOO!!!
THANK YOU JESUS AND SOMETIMES WE FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE NEED HIM AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!
I PRAISE YOU JESUS. THERE IS NO ONE LIKE MY DADDY!!!

  25. 18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

I’m thankful for the Word that can cut or melt a human heart. I’m thankful that His words can speak to me. I pray my hear may be sensitive to conviction, encouragement, direction and correction that it gives.
    Word of God speak.

  26. The speed of God’s word

    Psalms 147:15 (KJV Strong’s)
15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth:
    his word runneth very swiftly.

Light travels at a distance of 186,000 miles per second. As quick as a bolt of lightning flashes it is here, and then gone.

The book of Genesis tells us that In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness dwelt upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and God said Let there be light

    BOOM

Immediately at 186,000 miles per second light appeared and shot forth.

(KJV Strong’s) 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

When God speaks to our situation we do not have to wait hours, or days for it to happen. The moment he utters the words there is an immediate response in the natural and the spiritual. His words will not return empty.

Hold onto what God said he will do. Trust in his word, and have faith in him, and not a feeling.

2 Peter 1:19 (Weymouth New Testament)
19 And in the written word of prophecy we have something more permanent; to which you do well to pay attention–as to a lamp shining in a dimly-lighted place–until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

  27. 19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

I saw this and was puzzled about why the author would call out “Jacob” and “Israel”, when they were the same person.

As I did some checking, I not only got some confirmation but also some insight. The church is often referenced throughout the Word as Isreal. With that thought you can see how I would want to do some digging.

As I dug, Jacob being the old man, was able to receive the Word of God, just as the church, when we were the “old man”, we too could only receive te Word, we like Jacob were unable to accept His statutes and judgements. It was only after Jacob (the old man that we used to be) changed that he (we) was able to accept and begin to understand the deeper meanings and understandings of the Word.

  28. NLT – 12 Glorify the Lord, O Jerusalem!
    Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates
and blessed your children within your walls.
14 He sends peace across your nation
and satisfies your hunger with the finest wheat.
15 He sends his orders to the world—
    how swiftly his word flies!
    16 He sends the snow like white wool;
he scatters frost upon the ground like ashes.
17 He hurls the hail like stones.[a]
Who can stand against his freezing cold?
18 Then, at his command, it all melts.
He sends his winds, and the ice thaws.
19 He has revealed his words to Jacob,
his decrees and regulations to Israel.
    20 He has not done this for any other nation;
they do not know his regulations.
    Praise the Lord!

The heartbeat of God was Jerusalem, His chosen people. Yet they did not look for Him ,they did not obey His commandments…..so we, the Gentiles, have been given an opportunity to be graphed into the vine of God’s chosen people.

Thank you Jesus for the benefits of being Your child!

  29. Gods pleasure

    Psalms 147:10-11
    He does not delight in the strength of the horse;
He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man.
The Lord favors those who fear Him,
Those who wait for His lovingkindness.

Fear (to fear, revere, be afraid(Qal)to fear, be afraidto stand in awe of, be awedto fear, reverence, honour, respect)

Favors (to be pleased with, be favourable to)

God doesn’t take pleasure in the physical characteristics of his creation. He takes pleasure in people of faith who wait or have hope for his loving kindness and mercy. This denotes a humble person who confesses they need him through repentance, for God resists the proud. Jas 4:6

  30. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

He’s not impressed with our strength because we can become proud in our abilities. He’s impressed with the humble who respect his great abilites that far surpass our own. His word instructs the “weak” to say “I am strong” to teach us that our strength comes from the Lord. So matter our state, we must declare how great is our God!

  31. The Promiser

2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

    Genesis 15:3-6
3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

4 And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

    Romans 4:16-22
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

17 As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:

    20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

Jesus is the One who both fathers the promise and provides for the fulfillment of the dream. In today’s Psalm we hear of the children of Israel like the stars of the sky, yet God knows each by name and is well able to care even for the affliction of the lowly. Sometimes in the process of the dream, it can feel like we have become victims of the process and the very momentum that was to carry us to destiny seems poised to destroy us. But God knows where we each are and He is mighty to be our loving Father through each step of the journey. It is about taking each step in faith and trusting God to not only give the promise but fulfill it.

  32. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Thank you JESUS that when I am hurting you are there. You see my needs. You care for me. You always answer. You encourage. Praise The Lord for his mercy endureth forever! It is merciful for JESUS to heal the broken in heart and to bind up their rules.

  33. How much more?

9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

How much more does God care for us?

    Psalms 27
25 I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

When my kids come to me and say that they are hungry, I don’t deny them but I freely give them of what I have. Such Is the same of God. He is ready to bless those who will call upon him.

  34. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The whirl pool galaxy is sitting perpendicular to our galaxy, 31 million light years away from earth. (5.88 trillion miles= 1 light year) This galaxy has 300 billions stars in it, and is only one of hundreds of millions of galaxies on the universe.

And my God………knows then by name!

Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

God didn’t lift a finger when he create the heavens, we serve a star breathing God!

  35. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
