Matthew 13

1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.

2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

  1. Did you ever think, about some people you try witnessing too. How sometimes its like you speak an entire different language. Jesus certainly understands this type of thing. “Eyes & Ears”……….need to be opened for the unbeliever. Pray for the Lord of the Harvest to send helpers for a great harvest. “Keep Trying”………..

15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

We have to be an example to the lost, and we must survive even in wicked times. Yes, even live and work amongst them. But, be not of this world. Don’t let your circumstances change your stance in Christ Jesus. There be a day when God separates us from the tares. His Angels will bring in the harvest one day! We’re going to the barn………………………………………………

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The only bummer with God is you must have faith, because it’s the only way to please God. Because of their unbelief not great miracles or great works could be done. So, keep the faith, and wait and see. Having Faith is a way to make our Daddy smile, and guess what then someone is going to be blessed, saved, healed, delivered, set free, and Daddy gets another child, and you make all the Angels celebrate when one sinner repents. “Holy Party”……………………………………..

58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

    “Keep the Angels Busy”…………”In Jesus’s Name, Amen”………………………….

  2. Jesus, where are you??

    MATTHEW 13:58
58/ And he did not many mighty works there because of those unbelief.

I pray that I will always trust and listen to the Lord of Lords and King of Kings (Jesus), so he will be living w me everyday…and showing me theiraculous

    • Oops typo…the miraculous. I thank the Lord for sending down blessings and His presence in my life. When Pofw had the day of giving to the church fund..I just received my blessing for obeying this is the proof that Jesus is alive and loves me and my land. Thankyou Jesus not just for blessings but you, Jesus.

  3. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: -Matthew 13:24
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. -Matthew 13:25
But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. -Matthew 13:26
So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? -Matthew 13:27
He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? -Matthew 13:28
But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. -Matthew 13:29
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. -Matthew 13:30

A parable is a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson, as told by Jesus in the Gospels.
synonyms: allegory, moral story/tale, fable, exemplum
“the parable of the prodigal son”

This is one if the great parables of the Bible. It immediately brings to my mind the great day of judgement where men are going to be judged by the word of God! And though it is closer than when we first believe there is a word in these verses for me today.

Everyday we plant seeds in life; the Bible says:
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. -Galatians 6:7

The enemy wants to make us think that we have failed or come up short. But don’t get tired keep doing what you know to do. Keep prayer, fasting, believing, working, and trusting. God is in control!

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. -Galatians 6:8
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. -Galatians 6:9

Don’t fall asleep, be sober, be diligent, be victorious.

    In Jesus name!

  4. Sometimes, for some people, you can not undo your past.

I take this one to heart, since when I got saved, as a new believer on fire for God, I TOLD EVERYONE. I search the bible, studied like no other even took some theology classes, because I wanted more of His great wisdom. I will come to the military barracks, singing His Praise; but all they could see was the crazy, party going, drinking buddy of the past. It was hard for them to believe that my change was permanent. They waited patiently for the moment I will fall, so they could turn and say “you see, you never did change, you are still the same crazy dame.” Our military unit still gets together once in a while and some of them still offer me a beer, or ask me out to dance (my favorite pastime BC), or start speaking ill about others, etc. Every time I tell them how GOD change my life. You will think they will give up and accept the fact, well, not yet, it has been 29 yrs since I was born again, for them I am still the same. They can not see further of whom I used to be and probably will never see further; but those who had, respect me, and have search their own hearts. I pray for ALL Prophets that have to be around their home town, or family. May God give them wisdom to continue, may they never give up, and may they overcome the barriers of their past. AMEN.

  5. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

There will be many people we witness to that will not listen . But don’t stop because out of 100 people that you witness too 99 may not hear but that 1 will receive the it.

  6. I wonder how many mighty works God would have done among us but we missed because of our lack of faith? Let’s let our faith arise so that He can do even more mighty works in our church and in our city!

    Luke 8:48 KJV
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

    Luke 17:19 KJV
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

  7. Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: “‘“You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.” For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭14-15‬ ESV)

  8. 15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Sometimes Sharing My Past And Remembering Something That Happened Long Ago Hurts Me Like If It Was Only Yesterday But I Remember The Things God Has Done For Me And What He Can Also Do For Others The Way He Healed Me And How He Can Heal The Others And Although We Go Through Things We Look To It As A Great Testimony That Will Help Others Who Were/Are Going Through The Same Thing We Once Went Through ❤

And Because Of You I Know That I Have A Chance And Although There Are Stumbling Blovks Comming My Way I Look To It As A Great Testimony That Will Also Make Me Stronger And Help Those You Put In My Path
    Only You Lord Know!!Only You

  9. 16 “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. (NLT)

Hallelujah, I am blessed! I thank God for choosing us this day and allowing us the opportunity to understand His word. In scriptures prior and following it says others don’t have this opportunity; I see it as our duty to reach those lost souls and help lead them to a place in Christ that they too may find understanding.

  10. Jesus and the cross

    Matthew 13:45-46
The Parable of the Pearl of Great Value
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Jesus gave his life for you. You are a pearl of great price. God Almighty set aside his kingship and humbled himself to be murdered by his own creation. He did it because a relationship with you is more valuable than all treasure.

If only we could, as a whole, get a revelation of the depth of this. God gave up everything for a chance to have a relationship with us.

He knew no sin, yet he because sin-for our sake.

    Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

  11. 1 At about that same time Jesus left the house and sat on the beach. 2 In no time at all a crowd gathered along the shoreline, forcing him to get into a boat. 3 Using the boat as a pulpit, he addressed his congregation, telling stories. 4 As he scattered the seed, some of it fell on the road, and birds ate it. 5 Some fell in the gravel; it sprouted quickly but didn’t put down roots, 6 so when the sun came up it withered just as quickly. 7 Some fell in the weeds; as it came up, it was strangled by the weeds. 8 Some fell on good earth, and produced a harvest beyond his wildest dreams. 9 “Are you listening to this? Really listening?” 10 The disciples came up and asked, “Why do you tell stories?” 11 He replied, “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom. You know how it works. Not everybody has this gift, this insight; it hasn’t been given to them. MSG
Not everyone knows about the truth, that is where we step in and letting God use us to be a witness to someone. How we act and live is a witness cause you never know who is watching you or listening to you. Some people we come in contact with doesn’t want to know the truth but there is some that is crying help me! God help us to be a witness and light for your kingdom today!

  12. Inner Roots

    Matthew 13:20-21
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

The phrase “yet he hath not root in himself” seems strange. For me it seems that it should read he has no root in God, or in the church, or in the word. Yet it says no root in himself.

I believe this is indicative of self discipline.

When one has self discipline in life it becomes easy to receive, hear, and do the word of God. There is no wishy washiness. Instead one who already has self discipline will know how to apply daily devotion, prayer, reading, and time with God.

    1 Corinthians 9:26-27
26 That is how I run, not being in any doubt as to my goal. I am a boxer who does not inflict blows on the air, 27 but I hit hard and straight at my own body and lead it off into slavery, lest possibly, after I have been a herald to others, I should myself be rejected.

When we let ourselves have no inner roots, strong foundations, or self discipline we are unstable. The storms of life come and knock us over.

    Ephesians 4:14
14 in order that we no longer may be immature ones, tossed to and from and carried around in circles by every wind of teaching in the cunning adroitness of men, in craftiness which furthers the scheming deceitful art of error,

  13. 24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

This parable is as said good seed was sown in the ground. The part I want to point to is (while men slept). There are dangers in sleeping, and we have to check those dangers and be aware that we are vulnerable when we are tired or exhausted. So we must sleep, but how do we protect ourselves when we are asleep?
We must always be aware of our surroundings and never allow ourselves to be exhausted spiritually. It is high time we awake out of our slumber and be aware every minute spiritually.

  14. Matthew 13:9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
This statement goes beyond physical hearing and implies an inner spiritual reception of truth. This prompted the disciples to ask why He had spoken to them in parables. Whereas before, He had used parables to illustrate His messages, now they formed the basis of the message.

13:11-13 The savior’s reply is that only the disciples are to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God. A “mystery” in the Bible implies a sacred secret into which one must be initiated in order to understand it.

We must discipline ourselves to be a disciple.
We are to spread the gospel throughout the world.

  15. iLove to eat the Word

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

These scriptures really go against the communist and Robin Hood mentality of today’s culture.

Understanding the basic doctrines of the Word allows us to receive even more revelation in the Word. Those who reject the very basic and elementary doctrines of the Word, cannot grow any more, but even what they know will be taken away. That’s why we find a lot of carnal churches supporting gay marriage along with other immoral activities.

Always believe and accept the truth, and more will be given.

  16. Hang in there

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

I had a vision when I first came to the church and received the Holy Ghost. It was about this scripture.

I see a little sprig of a tree barely coming out of the ground. It looks very I impressive and unassuming. It has one or two small leaves with no branches yet. The Lord spoke to me them and said “this is you son ” I didn’t understand why I was so small and insignificant. At that time Pastor Watts and Bishop Foster were both with me and The Lord had me look at them. When I looked they were smiling at one another and encouraging one another. Bishop Foster had his band in Pastor Watts back as if to say “I’ve got your back”. It was then that the second part of the vision came. I can now see beneath the earth and I witness a massive root system begin to to its way down and out in every direction. This root system was enormous, they looked as if they were about the size of a Hightower building but the sprig stayed the same. The Lord spoke again and said.” This foundation inside you that I’m building will be much greater than anyone can see from the surface but what I’m getting you ready for will require a strong root system that will not budge during the storm. Your outward growth is not important right now. The foundation has to be set first.”

This vision has given me encouragement when I feel like I’m not going anywhere but if I will take a deeper look God is developing something inside me.
When the sun comes my roots are down deep in the spring of living water where I gather my strength and that cannot be dried up.

So the answer to a stony heart is to hang in there and let the roots of the word and the teachings of the profits and men of God to go deep. When you have the word deep in your soul nothing can move you.

    iWill not be shaken!

  17. Jesus spoke to many different types of people. When he taught he used parables to help them understand what he was trying to convey. This is one reason why, I believe, we must learn ourselves how to speak to many different people. You speak differently to the person on the street than you do to the rich man. God has blessed us with a Pastor that can gain everyone’s attention. Even the children. Thank God for blessing us with a pastor that studies to help all ages.

  18. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This phrase was made very popular by a cell phone commercial several years ago. In fact I found myself saying these same words on my cell phone just yesterday, in an attempt to have a conversation with another preacher. I said CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

I truly believe this simple phrase is resinating in the Spirit realm even NOW.

    He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

7 times in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 we read these words. Below is the first of those 7.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

    1. We find the key achievement in hearing is OVERCOMING. Our spiritual victories are directly connected to our willingness to HEAR what the Spirit of the LORD is saying.

    2. We also find that in hearing is NOURISHMENT. The tree of LIFE is available to those that HEAR.

    3. Alas we find in this particular verse the promise of PARADISE (PEACE and JOY) in hearing.

PARADISE – 3857. paradeisos, par-ad´-i-sos; of Oriental origin (compare H6508); a park, i.e. (specially), an Eden (place of future happiness, “paradise”): — paradise.

  19. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

What a blessed people we are to have a Pastor that feeds us the Word of God whether we deserve to be fed or not. The revelation of who Jesus is and the power that He has given us is overwhelming. However, I believe we take this closeness to the Lord for granted sometimes. Our eyes can be opened to scriptures that we do not first understand because we know the process of gaining revelation and understanding. It is hard to remember back to when the Word of God was just a book.

Before I believed, it was a special book. I knew it had power from the stories of my grandfather through the years. However, to me it was still just a book. I sat in church most of my life but had no relationship with the Lord beyond calling myself a Christian. Now, with the tools we have learned to use and a Pastor who feeds us whether we deserve it or not we have the ability to understand the His word. Let’s not hide it under a bushel, let’s let our light shine. Share this Word with people!

  20. The field is the world and the good seed are the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. As the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be at the end of the age. -Matthew 13:38-40

Are you a seed or a weed?!

  21. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Thank you Jesus for opening my ears and eyes to receive what you have for me.

  22. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

There are so many people who are missing it. They want to know God, they love god but they ate still missing it. They read the word but understand not because they lack the Holy Ghost. I thank God that he opened my eyes when he dis, he is raising up an endtime army and he’s not calling quitters and people who can’t hack it. We were called because he has a purpose for each one of us during these last days. Use us Lord to open the eyes of the spiritually blind. Use us Lord to open the ears of those who want to know more but still do not understand. Thank you Lord we are blessed because we can hear and see that which the spirit is saying to this endtime church.

  23. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

We are living in the last day and God is going to expose those things and people that offend Him. We must prepare our lamps and be ready for His coming. Having enough oil to last until He returns. If we are just now trying to prepare we are behind and must diligently get things together that we can also help those around us know the hour.

  24. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

I am blessed with my family, my church family, my friends, and my Pastor and his Wife!!😉

  25. 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

Hallelujah let us be OBIDIENT to Hear to UNDERSTAND and to DO so that we may bear GOOD FRUIT. We have to have a strong root so when trials may come our way we will believe and trust in God for we have heard his Word. This parable shows exactly who will go into the kingdom of heaven and who will not. Let my seed bear good fruit for your kingdom Jesus! Let us go and spread the gospel in Jesus name 🙂

  26. Everyone we come in contact with we impact in some way. We either show them Jesus who is living in us or we are showing them the world. Let your light shine and show the hungry Jesus!

Thank you Jesus for shining your light through me!

  27. He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand. This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says, ‘When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭11-15‬ NLT)

We are blessed to be able to understand the teachings of God. I find it interesting when God reveals things to me and others don’t understand, and now I ‘see’ why. He is truth and the devil has blinded ppl with lies. You need God to give you sight before you can walk in the light.

    God is good!

  28. I like how God used these story’s. You know how God says only the ones with open eyes and open ears will understand. It’s like when I’m at school and I tell them why I wear skirts or don’t cut my hair. Then I’ll show them where in the bible, and they still don’t understand. God knows what I’m talking about because people didn’t understand him when he told the people the word.

  29. YES!!!

THIS PARABLE REMINDS OF WHEN PEOPLE OPEN UP THEIR MOUTH TO TELL A BABE IN CHRIST WHAT THEY SHOULD AND SHOULDN’T DO AND THEY END UP HURTING THE BABE IN CHRIST. (UPROOTING THEM STRAIGHT OUT OF CHURCH). WHEN we should ALL know that IT IS UP TO GOD, PASTOR AND FIRST LADY TO ADDRESS IT. AS GREAT PASTORS THEY HAVE INVESTED AND ONLY THEY AND GOD KNOW WHAT HAS BEEN INVESTED. ……….. A PERSON THAT WANTS TO CHANGE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE FORCED TO CHANGE. GOD IS STILL IN CHARGE EVEN IF AND WHEN WE FORGET THAT HE IS . GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!! COME ON POFW, WE KNOW THAT NO BODY THAT COMES TO OUR CHURCH LEAVES THE SAME. ALL GLORY, HONOR, PRAISE GOES TO OUR GOD. JESUS!!! THANK YOU DADDY!!!

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
I BELIEVE THAT EVEN FOR THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN PLANTED IN MALICE……….. THE BLOOD STILL WORKS!!! HAHAHAHA!!! SO IF THERE BE, THEY ALSO WILL CHANGE!!! IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME!!! THE BLOOD STILL WORKS!!! HAHHAHA!!! I REJOICE FOR MY GOD IS ALIVE!!! I KNOW THAT I KNOW, THAT MY JESUS LIVES!!! BRINGS ME GREAT JOY, TO BE A PART OF HIS KINGDOM!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  30. 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

To comprehend spiritual truth is a gracious gift of God. Every time I pick up the Bible and read a Scripture that I have read before, God will reveal something brand new to me. The Bible is a spiritual book, and can only be understood through the spirit.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

If we have the Spirit of God within us, our understanding will grow and grow. On the other hand, if we reject the teacher (Holy Spirit), we won’t even be able to retain what we read with our physical eyes.

JESUS..Thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may have understanding to your word.

  31. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. (‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭19‬ NKJV)

This is one of the prayers I pray when I pray for services and revivals that people will have a understanding of the word and what is going to be preached.

  32. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:“You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
Lord open my eyes and ears to hear you! Let me understand your word and have a hunger for you!! 🙂

  33. “When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.” This one reason why prayer is so essential. One must pray that one’s eyes and ears are open to receive the word of God (Jesus), and what sayeth the man of God. For the deceiver (satan) is ever looking to deceive whom he can. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  34. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

  35. This chapter explains why it is important to hear the word of God. We must remember it’s not enough to just hear God’s word, we must also let it take root and do it. The devil is always looking for a way to pull you from God’s word, but if you are firmly planted his efforts are useless.

  36. There are many truths and many things to pull out of this scripture, and we have heard parts of this scripture being preached to us even recently. But something I want to pull out of this comes from this verse:

22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

I believe many people can get past the stage of being thrown out on the wayside or avoid the stones where they can’t bear root… but sometimes the most difficult part of a young Christian’s journey and even among some of us today is getting past the thorns.

What are the thorns? The scripture tells us they are whatever prevents us from bearing fruit. The cares of the world and the deceitfulness of it. Are your friends keeping you from being bold in your Christian walk? Are you afraid of what people will think of you?

Or are you letting things of this world get in between you and God? Your career? Your hobbies? Your worldly music, movies and habits you just don’t wanna let go of? It could be anything that could be getting between you and God. You gotta make sure that you pray and read the word daily and ask for wisdom to discern the things in your life that are hindering your spiritual growth and preventing you from growing fruit for his kingdom.

  37. 31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

When I read this this morning I couldn’t help but think about our bus kids. Each child has potential that we can’t even see. They may not come from good situations but we as a church are helping them. They may be easily passed by as the least of society but in Gods eyes they can grow into prosperous disciples, mighty men and women of God.

  38. False Foundation

    20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

    Matthew 7:24-25
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Different things in life will vie for our allegiance, and some will want to sit as “rocks” of “truth” in our lives. The problem with these rocks is that they are not the sure foundation they appear the be, and if we try to build upon them, we will find ourselves unable to become truly rooted in God. Anything in our life that is a “rock” that does not come in agreement with the Word needs to be rooted up. Just as a farmer or gardener will prepared the ground before planting, we must break up the fallow ground and remove the rocks if we are to see the sort of harvest in our lives that God desires.

  39. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Matthew 13:44)
The “treasure” represents the preciousness of to Christ, who sees our hidden value.

  40. 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

As we prepare fro the harvest, we must continually remove the tares in our lives, that way we too dont end up burned.

  41. 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
    38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

We are sent into the world with the gospel of peace for His harvest. We must be wise & know that the enemy has sown seed in amongst this harvest. We must advance with the seal of the Holy Ghost on our minds and with the covering of prayer. We must use the armor of God & we will prevail! As happened to Jesus…his own received him not…however, there are many who are searching and need us to lead them to this truth we know.

  42. PARABLES !!!! Thank you for your parables Jesus I WORSHIP YOU JESUS !!!! I ADORE YOU JESUS !!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! I AM VICTORIOUS !!!!

  43. 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Even though everyone is not able to bear an hundredfold fruit does not mean that you cannot do something great for God. Always put you hand to the plow and be willing to serve in the kingdom God will multiply your gifts!

  44. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. (‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭58‬ KJV)

Unbelief – faithlessness, i.e. (negatively) disbelief (lack of Christian faith), or (positively) unfaithfulness (disobedience):–unbelief.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. And it’s doesn’t allow God to work freely in our situation and more importantly the situations of others.

  45. 36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

    37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

    38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

There are so many payables here. The one that stood out more to me are the ones that sow sow and sow.. In the end the tares and the wheat will grow together but shall be separated and the bad will go to the fire. One of the last verses jesus tell who His family is, the ones who do the will of the father. One may be growing side by side but in the end, the seed should produce fruit, and by it, it shall be know whether one is a tare or a wheat. We shall know them by their fruits. The interesting thing is that the wheat too goes through the fire at one point but to become something that produces good taste, the bad simply burns off..

  46. 58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

I am so thankful for the church and how we are prepared and able to walk in the spirit. There are many miracles, signs and wonders that take place in our lives because we believe and know He is with us. I give glory to you, God. Hallelujah!!

  47. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

How we speak is very important. We can’t be over the head of the individual we are sharing the love of God with. We can’t be demeaning, we must be sensitive to their needs and their situation and at the same time, minister the pure word of God. Not everyone is going to be receptive, it deeps on the type of soil of their heart, just like the parable in this chapter. Our duty is not to share the gospel in a kind loving manner, what happens to the seed afterwards is the responsibility of the individual.

  48. 34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: 35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Every word was fulfilled. Jesus spoke in parables that allowed us to dig for the deeper meanings in things. It us also easier to understand principles behind events if we can slightly distance ourselves from the object.

  49. Jesus spoke in parables, it was the way he knew he could get peoples attention and draw them in. Jesus spoke to a level where people who heard him speaking they could understand what he was talking about. People with faith and want to learn will hear him and those who don’t have little or no faith.

Jesus teach me of your ways, guide me through each and every trall that will stand in the way when

  50. The heart of the listener has to be in a condition that is conducive to accept the message from the Lord. Some times even we come and get a strong Word from God, rebuke and correction, and our heart isn’t right, in a condition to be sewed in, we miss what the Lord has for us.
