Matthew 18

1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

  1. Bind & Loose those things that hinder or get in your way of completing your journey with God. If, need be as it is written touch in agreement with someone over that issue, and when there is two or three gathered, Jesus is in the midst. So, what we ask in agreement, Our Father will grant it. As, long as it is God’s will and not ours or a selfish destructive desire. God will grant it, we must believe and have faith! God loves us, and he desires to bless his children. But, Jesus gave several warnings here especially about the children. We must have the faith as of a child, in order to enter in the kingdom of God. We must be humble, and he warned of many fleshly things as well, a hand, an eye, or anything that offends, pluck it, get rid of it, or just straighten up. It’s better than the hell fires, and he is very serious about the children. Jesus also taught about the importance of forgiveness! That’s what the whole Cross is all about. So, we must do the same. “FORGIVE”……………

    “FORGIVE, CHILD LIKE FAITH”……….”TRUST DADDY”……………………………

  2. 3 And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all]. (AMP)

Hallelujah Jesus 🙂 thank you for your Word Jesus!!! I’ve always loved how children communicate. When they see other kids that are playing they eagerly want to go and play with them. They make friends in an instant, maybe get upset at each other but forgive each other the next second. That’s how we have to be loving, giving, humble, and overall FORGIVE! Which ties to

21 Then Peter came up to Him and said, Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I forgive him and [h]let it go? [As many as] up to seven times?
22 Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven! (AMP)
If Jesus forgives our sins and has so much mercy upon us we must follow his footsteps and learn to forgive others because overall at the end Jesus will bring forth judgement upon each and everyone of us. Let us be holy for he is holy.

  3. HALELUJAH!!!
10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Thank You JESUS!!! UNMERITED LOVE ……
I PRAISE YOU AND I THANK YOU DADDY!!!
    Zachariah 2:8
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
    Hebrews 1 :14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

  4. There are some people that always argue that there is no such thing as guardian angels. This is the verse I use. For it will not use the possessive adjective “THEIR” if it did not belong to the little ones Jesus is speaking about. 10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

  5. There is so much here to talk about I will try to narrow down to the most important to me.

We should always be able to forgive the debts of others and have compassion on them. We want others to forgive us our debts, but in order for God to forgive us we must be able to forgive others.

There is nothing that makes God angrier than when we have double standards. We want others to toe the line but we will do things our way. God wants us to have a spirit of compassion toward everybody.
Let’s reach out and touch someone with this message and show some love to others. We must treat others with respect and let them know God loves them and wants to help them. We should not be filled with holier than thou attitude and send them to hell attitude. We should be reaching for their soul because God had mercy on us.
Actually we are sinners saved by grace!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

When call on his name he is there. Prayer is so important in our walk and forgiveness . If we can’t have forgiveness in our heart how can we ask forgiveness from the Lord. Do unto others as we ask for unto us.

  7. “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.” All have offended someone and as such all must comprehend the importance of forgiveness, and follow through and ask for forgiveness, if one wants forgiveness from God (Jesus). What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  8. THE INVITATION OF AGREEMENT

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

The charge has been issued to us today to GO to the house of the LORD, this is our Christian practice. However, I see and hear a challenge to another level of sacrifice and commitment.

Today let all the people gather in the name of JESUS and watch what JESUS does in the middle of our messes.

I go to church today in the name of JESUS.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  9. Forgiveness……

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. (‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭35‬ KJV)

I was told Friday night that it’s easy to forgive someone, and not forget what they’ve done to you.

I stopped what I was doing to think about it. I wondered within myself that if a person truly forgives from the heart, then that sin that was caused against you, wouldn’t continually torture your mind, your emotions, and paralyze you in your walk as a Christian.
True forgiveness doesn’t act out in anger, bitterness, being hateful, and even desire revenge toward anyone. Actions do speak louder than your words, don’t just say you forgive, act on it. Carrying unforgiveness in your heart only keeps you in bondage.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14-15‬ KJV)

Let’s forgive with our hearts. And allow The Lord to do great and mighty things in the body of Christ.

  10. 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The innocence of a child is one of the greatest gifts God gives each of us. Children trust and take things at face value. They don’t analyze and wonder if it is what it is, they just believe. We must JUST BELIEVE what the Word says is true and walk in that belief.

  11. Give Before

    Matthew 18:34-35 (KJV Strong’s)
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

The word trespass means (CWSB Dictionary) Fault, lapse, error, mistake, wrongdoing.

This is usually a sin that was not done with a heinous position. This was accidentally done, or without intention.

Some examples of trespassing would be someone cutting you off in traffic, moving into the parking spot you were waiting for, grabbing the last slice before you could. These are silly but we can get offended over these things if we are not careful. So how do we combat this?

Forgive, or rather the attitude of forgiveness.

Forgive means to give before someone deserves it. We are to live our lives giving everyone a preorder of forgiveness.

    Why?

It’s the key to our forgiveness from God.

    1 John 1:9 (KJV Strong’s)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Matthew 7:2 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
2 for with that judgment by which you are judging, you will be judged, and with that standard of judgment with which you are judging, by that standard will judgment be passed on you.

  12. 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

We all must come together and set aside hurt feelings for when we come together as one we are so much stronger. When we come together in unity God is there in the midst of us. Thank you God for dwelling in the midst of us!

  13. For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. (‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭11‬ NKJV)

I’m so thankful this morning that JESUS died on the cross for us. Came down and gave us grace and redemption. When I was lost he remembered me! Me! Somebody that didn’t want anything to deal with him. He remembered me!:) thank you Jesus for being here for me. Cause I need you!

I’m cherishing your blessings this morning. The simple things. Thank you.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

    Forgiveness…
This word can have such a great weight to many individuals. In my opinion it is the most expensive debt to pay and it’s all a matter of the heart. The example is clear. We owe so much to the Lord for our sins that we could never repay. In His love, he paid the price and just granted us forgiveness. Why cannot then some forgive their neighbor. One of the major block to some one receiving the wonderful gift of the Holy Ghost is un-forgiveness. I believe it to be the best trade off ever. Forgive thy neighbor and The Lord will forgive us. The consequences for an un-forgiving heart are horrible. The one that suffers the most is the one that cannot forgive. Trapped in a cell were the tormentors make you pay. When we forgive rather than liberating some one of their offense, you free yourself from the pain and grudge. Being able to enjoy life is way better than having an un-forgiving bitter heart.

Luke 17:3-4 So watch yourselves!“If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”

  15. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

And this is why us as believers gather together in his name, for alone we can do many great things for God but when two or more are gathered together, we can do even greater things for God’s kingdom!

Ecclesiastes 4:11-12 Again if two lie together, then they have heat but can one be warm alone. If one prevail against him, two shall withstand him and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

  16. iLove to eat the Word

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The power of Humility is often overlooked for the simple reason that it is very hard to obtain and practically impossible to impersonate.

The fastest way up in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Submission to those in authority simply a test of humility. Those who are proud quickly fall into the trap of self will and will quickly reveal themselves.

Let the spirit of humility arrest the church and let us prefer one another.

  17. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Our Heavenly Father is a merciful God he forgives us when we ask him for forgiveness with a sincere heart. He expects us to forgive each other like he has forgiven us. If we don’t forgive others God will not forgive us.

Thank you Lord for your love and your mercy.

  18. In that hour came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

God wants us to treat others like he treats us.and be inocent like a newborn child.god died for our sins to be gone not so we can do more and say oh I’ll ask for forgiveness later.

  19. Together

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

This chapter spoke about pursuing unity, giving insight in v20 about specific benefit and power in it. Unity is precious to the Lord and should be one of the bean fields we fiercely defend. More than an ideal, unity is key to the church standing up powerful, Apostolic, flourishing, and anointed to experience the harvest and revival God has for us.

    Psalm 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

    2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

  20. 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
There is power of being in unity ! We are able to bind things and loose the power of God in situations. It’s a comfort in knowing that God will answer my prayer!!

  21. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

One of the toughest trials people face I forgiveness. Usually people will get hurt and decide to not forgive, and they hold a grudge towards the other person, themselves, or to God.

Unforgiveness is a cancer. It will spread all through not only your physical body, but throughout every aspect of your life until it either kills you, or you forgive.

  22. Let it go.

    Matthew 18:34-35
And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”

Forgiveness is always the answer. It is better to not be bound by bitterness. This illustration shows the severity of unforgiveness

  23. Yes, it does matter a hill of beans

1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

In the bible one of the mighty men fought over his lintel patch. My bean patch is kids. Yes they are that important. Some people may think that what I do (or any small job in the children’s )doesn’t matter a hill of beans.
I don’t agree. They are my bean patch that I will defend. I know I have a great team with me too.

  24. Verses 4-5 MSG “Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives and accepts and welcomes one little child like this for My sake and in My name receives and accepts and welcomes Me.” Children have so much trust, so much love and forgive with such an innocence. We too should strive for this.

We sang about verses 18-20 this Sunday and we declared it in Jesus name; so HE is in the midst of IT.

The end of the chapter is about forgiveness. We cannot forgive only with our mouths; but, with the heart.

  25. Gone Astray !! 10. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say u nto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Esther 1 : 14 11. For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 12. How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? Luke 15 : 4 13. And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 14. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. PRAISE YE the LORD !!!! JESUS YOU ARE WORTHY !!!! JESUS I THANK YOU FOR BREATH ON THIS EARTH ANOTHER DAY !!!!
