Matthew 19

1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

  1. 27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

There are so many Christians now a day that see themselves so self righteous that look down upon the sinner. They do it so obvious that the sinner if they had any repentance in their hearts, gets so disgusted by the Christians actions that they prefer to stay as they are for if that is being a Christian then they don’t want anything to do with Christianity. I seen it hundredth of times, the word gets to their heart and pricks them, but the judgement and looks of the so call Saints of the congregation makes them run for the doors. We must love the individuals, no matter what they look like, no matter what they have done, no matter what you may think; love none the less. For there will be the day when you will be accountable for that soul in front of your creator. There will be the day, when our Lord and Savior will say, you see that little one, your actions and judgement threw them out… Let the Love of Christ be in you to reach and save all no matter what… AMEN.

  2. 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

We should not find it odd that He talks about the husband and wife bond right before forsaking all others to follow Him.

Ephesians 5:25 challenges husbsnds to love their wives as Christ loves the church. So, some would think how do I forsake all others and still be one with my spouse? Easy follow the principles of the word of God. Do not marry if your unequally yoked 2 corinthians 6:14 this scripture is not just, do not join with someone that does not believe in God but it goes for all aspects of Truth or the Word of God. When you marry in Christ and in truth you become one with your spouse and Christ. The battle is to daily stay connected vertically and horizontally.

Christ gave of himself to take power over sin for the church to have dominion. How can a couple take dominion in the home unless they walk together? A husband and wife relationship should be a mirror example of Christ and the church. Understanding that in our current state of “human nature” there will be some hiccups as the two walk together but it will be the foundational principles of the Word of God that they will land and stand on. This will preserve the holiness and wholeness of marriage.

  3. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. -Matthew 19:2

And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. -Matthew 19:29

But many who are first will be last, and the last first. -Matthew 19:30

Why do I follow The Lord?

Is it for the the things that he can do for me or is it because I love him.

Nothing in this world can really satisfy my soul!

Forgetting those things which behind me.

    Follow The Lord!

  4. 21. “If you want to give it all you’ve got,” Jesus replied, “go sell your possessions; give everything to the poor. All your wealth will then be in heaven. Then come follow me.”

    22. That was the last thing the young man expected to hear. And so, crest-fallen, he walked away. He was holding on tight to a lot of things, and he couldn’t bear to let go. MSG

What are you holding on to? Is there something in your life that is keeping you from the Kingdom of God? Maybe not wealth, but something else that you just can’t seem to part with that you are valuing above your walk with Him. If so, let me encourage you that you can let go of it; you can live without it. Whatever it is, God has something even better in store for you and He will reward your faith and obedience.

  5. 13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

We all she have a child like faith. What is that, a child is trusting loving and has faith that anything is possible. It is only when we start to grow up that we begin to doubt. Lord help me to keep a child like faith.

  6. The young man said to him, “I have wholeheartedly obeyed all these laws. What do I still lack?”
Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
But when the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. -Matthew 19:20-22

Don’t ask for guidance, then ignore it because it’s not the answer we want to hear.

This rich man passed up being a follower! Who knows what that could have entitled.

What are we doing today that is hindering our future?

I pray that we aren’t passing by souls that God has placed in our path because it’s not what we want to hear, just as the rich man turned and walked away.

  7. The rich ruler came to Jesus to be taught, but when the teaching came forth, he did not want to listen and obey so that he could obtain eternal life. This is the same as going to the doctor and then not following his instructions to get well. Why did you go In the first place. God’s word tells us how to live we should go to it and have life.

  8. 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

“My God is Jesus, there’s nobody greater, Jesus is my savior, praise His holy name!”

  9. This chapter is filled with inspiration, Jesus begins by teaching about the bonds of marriage. Marriage is a bond that should not be taken lightly! Jesus explains how a man should leave his Father and Mother and cleave to his wife and the twain shall be one. You must love your wife and form a bond and a friendship that will last until death do you part! Jesus compared the love of your wife to Christ love of the church, think about it.

If we intend to be saved we must forsake all and follow Jesus Christ! According to these scriptures we must forsake all including houses, brethren, sisters even our father and mother if they hinder us in our walk with God. This is not a license to be rebellious to your parents, but a right to do the right thing without being hindered by those that should encourage you.
We should never let anyone or anything stop us from our desire to live for God.
    WE CAN BE FIRST!!!

  10. Matthew 19:24 (KJV Strong’s)
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

I have heard it preached that the eye of the needle is the entry into the city that people went through when the gate was shut. It was a small opening only big enough for the camel to squeeze through.

First all the baggage had to be removed from the camel for it to fit. The could mean the rich must lay down their cares and desires of this world to enter into eternal life.

However the word for eye is an eye or the needle. The word for needle is the needle, sharp, pointy, piercing needle.

It is easier for a camel to squeeze through this tiny hole, than a rich person to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

    Matthew 19:25-26 (KJV Strong’s)
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Squeeze on through! Whichever is meant by the scripture the point is it is nigh unto impossible for a rich person to enter into the kingdom.

Rich means abounding in resources, wealthy. Compared to the rest of the world even the poorest American is in the top 1% of wealth.

But with God this is not impossible. His word declares we can do it!

  11. The good little Christian.

What are we will to give up? It’s easy to say I’ll give it all up. Until you count the cost. Will you have to give up those things which you hold much value?
One of the reasons we don’t see more miracles than we do, I believe, is because we have kept back stuff in our lives. Lay those things down and take the cross to follow Jesus. We all can relate to this young man for we put much value in things of this world. But what if a billionaire would come up and tell you for every Dollie you invested into his company. You would receive $1000 in return in 15 years. Well if we understand how the kingdom of God works. This retirement plan is great. But we must first sell out to Jesus.

  12. 11-12 But Jesus said, “Not everyone is mature enough to live a married life. It requires a certain aptitude and grace. Marriage isn’t for everyone. Some, from birth seemingly, never give marriage a thought. Others never get asked—or accepted. And some decide not to get married for kingdom reasons. But if you’re capable of growing into the largeness of marriage, do it.” MSG

One’s age has nothing to do with maturity or readiness to become a spouse. Looking back now, I do not believe I was ready to be a husband. My wife was mature enough to look past my immaturity and wait for me to “grow up”. I also believe the same can be said for parenthood; one’s age has nothing to do with the maturity to be a parent. As with being a husband, I don’t believe I was ready to be a father at such an early age either. Again, my wife was mature enough to raise our children in a Godly home.

Learning to be a mature adult is a hard job; takes time and experiences. Applying that learned knowledge to marital relationships and parental responsibilities is a key to being an effective spouse and parent. In the same way we mature spiritually. The Lord does not put on us more than we can handle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. KJV.

Ephesians 1: 18-19 “…I ask … to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers…”

  13. THE PAIN OF SEPARATION

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Truth is that separation, divorce, or any other measure of broken relationship, should pain each party equally. However in most cases, one party is pained more than the other, this is typically the one not leaving. Occasionally the pains of abuse are deeper than the pain of separation.

The same statement of JESUS in the NIV

6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Too often I witness, people, places and things come between what GOD has joined together, it is the ultimate responsibility of every believer to STAND, DEFEND and PROTECT the BEANS. Whatever GOD has joined you to, IT is WORTH FIGHTING FOR.

We are WISE to consider the STRONG statement utilized here by JESUS in regards to the separation of what GOD has joined together. Marriage is a sacred act and MUST be approached as an ETERNAL decision. Salvation is an even more sacred act and is the ultimate ETERNAL decision.

Choose wisely and commit to the fact that your ETERNAL relationships are WORTH FIGHTING FOR.

  14. What the Lord puts together, no man can take apart. What the Lord gives, no man can take away. What the Lord opens, no man can close.

It takes sacrifice to grow in His kingdom. Perhaps letting some people go, changing the way you think or putting in Godly things as opposed to carnal things. It takes time, strength and the desire to be thrashed so we can grow. I thank God for the process to perfection.

Thank you Jesus for the thrashing! I trust in you.

  15. iLove to eat the Word

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

Praise the Lord. Jesus is in the healing business. I have searched the scriptures and will continue to search and will repent if I ever find one verse in which Jesus turned anyone away and did not heal them. If Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, how could he ever turn anyone away today?

We know that Paul had a thorn in his side, but was the thorn sickness or disease?
I read the following on the internet and agree with it.

    Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionPDF versionPDF version
Tradition has taught that Paul’s thorn in the flesh was some type of physical ailment or sickness. If you will take time to study the Word, you will find that this is not true. Paul clearly states in II Corinthians 12:7 that because of the abundance of revelations he had received, he was given a thorn in the flesh and the thorn was “a messenger of Satan.” The Greek word translated as messenger always refers to someone who is sent and denotes a definite personality.

This same word for messenger is translated in other verses of the New Testament as “angel.” Angels, as God’s messengers, are created beings with personalites. Satan’s messengers would be in the same category. In contrast, sickness is not a personality, nor a messenger.

Paul’s thorn in the flesh was a wicked spirit or angel sent by Satan to buffet him. Buffet means to strike repeatedly. God does not send wicked spirits against people in the Body of Christ for any reason (James 1:13). He sent the Holy Spirit and has given us His Word, which is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness to discipline and guide us (see John 16:13; II Timothy 3:16-17).

The phrase “thorn in the flesh” is a figure of speech or illustration. It is similar to calling someone who irritates us “a pain in the neck.” Likewise, Paul’s thorn was an evil angel who caused him great irritation, but not with sickness or disease. In II Corinthians 11:24-26, Paul lists what some of these “irritations” were – being imprisoned, stoned, beaten, shipwrecked and attacked by angry mobs.

Other examples of the persecutions Paul suffered are found in Acts 13:45, 50 and Acts 14:5-7, 19-20. The people in these verses were instruments used by the source of persecution – the messenger of Satan.

This evil angel was assigned to Paul for one reason – to stop the Word from being preached. Wherever Paul went, the messenger of Satan worked to incite the people against him. All the persecutions that Paul suffered were Satan’s attempt to steal the Word from him (see Mark 4:14-20).

Satan will see to it that no believer is exalted above the measure of the Word that actually lives in him. The Word that is alive in your heart is the word on which you steadfastly act. You will have to stand in faith for every word of revelation knowledge you receive.

***Amen! We all can receive our healing from the Lord. And by the way, if you ever find one person that Jesus refused to heal, please let me know and I will openly apologize.

  16. 28-30
    LEAVING ALL TO FOLLOW JESUS
God dosent coomand us to give everthing away. But we are to abandon all. There is to be nothing in our life that is so important that keeps us from doing Gods will.

  17. 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

We must be willing to sacrifice things of this world in order to inherit the things of the eternal world Jesus left “his world” the heavenlies to come to our world, and gave His all. What makes us think we are not going to have to give up “all” to enter His world?

  18. 2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

If we are following Jesus we are going to be healed. If someone had been following after Jesus faithfully for a matter of years and us still not made whole in thier own eyes it us because the choose to believe something that is nit true. The only thing that can keep us from gods purpose for I lives is the lies that we choose to believe. And untill we confess that they are nothing but lies and move passed them, and move forward in christ we will stay in the same wilderness that we’ve alwats beeIf we are not already whole with Jesus than we need to seriously evaluate the things that we are telling ourselves. Choosing to believe a lie will blur the lines of truth to the point that you do not know one from the other.

  19. 27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

What shall we do to be saved? Lord help me to always follow you and forsake anything that tries to come in the way of me living for you!

  20. Worldy views

    Matthew 19:10
The disciples *said to Him, “If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.”

A statement made by carnal men who truly lacked sufficient faith until the resurrection.

This mentality is like those of the world today who say if it doesn’t work out just get a divorce.

Other things similar to this paradigm of hell:

Oh just move in together and get married later.
    We are getting married anyway
I’ll never find someone as good as you (this statement is only applicable to Jesus)
    And the like

Righteous thinking says we can do this together.
Both parties must be on the same page BC a house divided against itself cannot stand.

  21. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

This is something I needed to hear today. The conviction that some people feel when they enter into the presence of God…..I assume that is what happened, as it seemed to scare a loved one right out the front door during last nights service. When someone claims to be so religious, but runs from God when things get uncomfortable… All I can do is pray and keep my eyes on Him. Thank you, Jesus, for illuminating me.

  22. 4 He answered, “Haven’t you read in your Bible that the Creator originally made man and woman for each other, male and female? 5 And because of this, a man leaves father and mother and is firmly bonded to his wife, becoming one flesh – no longer two bodies but one. 6 Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart. MSG
These verses here tell us that God created man and woman for each other. So how does people get that it is okay for woman and woman and man to man is okay. It is a sin and God frowns on that sin. I don’t understand how people that was in the church and left the church and okays for homosexual marriage and knowing it is a sin. God help us to open our eyes and see that we have family/friends that are believing a lie and being lost.

  23. 12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Paul speaks of marriage in this same tone:
7 I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.

  24. RICH MAN !!!! 20. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21. Je’-sus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Matt. 6 : 20 22. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 23. Then said Je’-sus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! I LIFT YOU UP !!!!! I GLORIFY YOU !!!! I MAGNIFY YOU !!!! I EXALT YOU !!!!! YOU ARE MY FATHER !!!!

  25. 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Through God all things are possible!!😄

  26. Matthew 19:23-30
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Though Jesus spoke so strongly, few that have riches do not trust them. How few that are poor are not tempted to envy. But men’s earnestness in this is like their toiling to build a high wall to shut themselves and their children out of heaven. It should be satisfaction to those who are in a low condition, that they are not exposed to the high and prosperous condition. If they live more hardly in this world then the rich, yet they get more easily to a better world they have no reason to complain. Jesus’ words show that it is harder for the rich to be a good Christian and follow the straight and narrow road. More duties are expected of them that are rich than those who are poor and sin comes more easily to them.

  27. Was reading in Proverbs 22 and came across these verses:
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
There is still hope that when Nikki grows up that she won’t forget what she has been taught.

He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow, And the rod of his anger will fail. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6, 8‬ NKJV)
This is powerful in my life! Thanks be to God for this word today.
    That is all lol

  28. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. (‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭22‬ NKJV)

The young man didn’t want to give up everything. He didn’t wang get rid of what he thought was important to him. He didn’t truly want to follow Christ.
Sometimes we have to give up the things we love and have so that God can do what he wants us to do. If we truly want to follow him.

    Then do whats absolute necessaries

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. (‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭29‬ NKJV)

    Thank you Jesus.

  29. “And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” There were those with needs, those that merely wanted to discredit, and another that wanted approval for self. Then there were those that inquired and followed. However one that wants to spend eternity with the Lord (Jesus), must repent and be obedient to the word. What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  30. We should follow Jesus and pray for and believe in miracles and they will happen. It all about having the faith that the disciples had. Through God anything is possible !

  31. 28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Had the rich young man lingered, listened to & followed Jesus, he would have seen that his reward would be great both here and in heaven. We never out give God. And there is nothing we would give up for the kingdom that he wouldn’t notice and replace with something even better.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Jesus called the young man to himself as a child, but the young man found it too many possessions left at the end of his faith. A child relies upon their parents to provide and care for them in every way, yet the more we adults grow to “make our own way in life,” the more we can forget our need to depend upon Jesus. We may acknowledge our need for Him but our faith may never rise far above our comfort zone to lead up back into the “uncertainty” of being as a child relying simply upon a loving Father. Where the flesh would see danger, the eyes of faith behold opportunity. We are certainly called to be wise, but no worldly things can replace what Jesus has in store for us when He says, “leave it all and follow Me.”

    Matthew 16:25
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

  33. The perfect sellout

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

The time comes when the true worshipers shall arise. The ones that have not held anything back, the ones that will give it all just to be with him.

The man Jesus was talking to didn’t understand the value of the sale of his things. When you sell out to Jesus he gives you more than riches, he gives you himself. It is not infact selling out, it is more like a return on his investment. Jesus purchased our salvation when he hung on the cross. He is expecting his church that he purchased to follow him.

The perfect sellout realizes that I have already been purchased so the purchase agreement says that I BELONG TO HIM! Anything that I can acquire on this earth is also his, so if he tells me to sell it than it is sold like 309 Boulder Court in Burleson, TX. God sad for us to sell our home and follow him so that’s what we did and here we are.

It is time to sell it all and inherit everything. What the man in this passage didn’t realize what the return of his sell would be. The return was priceless, the return would last for eternity.

  34. MSG version of 18-22
“Jesus said, Don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t tell lies, honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as you do yourself. The young man said, I’ve done all that. What’s left? If you want to give it all you’ve got, Jesus replied, go sell your possessions; give everything to the poor. All your wealth will then be in heaven. Then come follow me. That was the last thing the young man expected to hear. And so, crestfallen, he walked away. He was holding on tight to a lot of things, and he couldn’t bear to let go.”

Jesus said in St. Mark 12:30, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all they strength: this is the first commandment.”
Yes, this young man had obeyed many commandments, but his problem was he wasn’t following the first and greatest commandment of all. Because, when we Love the Lord with our ALL (heart, soul, mind and strength), we will be willing to let go of worldly things and follow him.
This is what is wrong with the world today. So many people don’t come to Jesus, because they are holding on so tightly to their worldly possessions, and they don’t want to give them up.

  35. 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Marriage is sacred in Gods eyes, it’s a vow that you made to your partner and God that is worth fighting. Don’t let the things of this world try to break your marriage but look upon God and he will restore everything. ALL MY TRUST IS IN YOU JESUS!!!!

  36. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Threre is nothing in this world that we should not be willing to give away for the kingdom of God. We should be willing to lay down carrers, money, fame and fortune in order to take up our cross and follow Him. He layed down for us the ultimate sacrifice when He died for our sins. So the least we can do is lay down our lives for Him.

  37. Matthew 19:18-22
This passage teaches the seriousness of true discipleship, but it in no way teaches the average man that he must sell his possessions. In order to be a Christian.
    I Timothy 6:18-19 That they do good , that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate ;
19.Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on internal life.

  38. 13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. 15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

This scripture shows us that we should lay hands on and bless our children. Don’t let others around you hinder you from bleeding your future today.

  39. Matthew 18-23-35 AN UNFORGIVING SERVANT
QUESTION IS Do we really mean we want God to forgive us to the same degree we forgive those who hurt us?
Always go make things right with the one who has offended

  40. 28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

The apostles will be judging the descendants of Abraham??

  41. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Love is kind, God loves us. Here he explains what other people give up for him.

God Has special rewards for those who have given up everything for him including inheritance of eternal life.

    I seek you lord.

  42. 27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

Why are you ding it? What is worth fighting for? What The Lord responds here are great blessings as described in the following verses. Albeit, in this earthly life, what can be the force that motivates an individual to live for God? I have not lived long or acquired many experiences but I have come to taste of what God’s love feels like. There’s is noting in this world that can satisfy that need from our soul. Only God makes one whole.

  43. Verses 1-12 MSG speak of marriage and divorce. The end of verse 12 says “But if you’re capable of growing into the largeness of marriage, do it.” Both have to be willing to grow!

Verses 13-30 MSG speak about entering into God’s kingdom. Verse 26 MSG says “Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.” IF we can trust God to help us, we can make it….You can make it. JESUS, today YOU will SAVE me!

  44. “Not everyone can accept this statement,” Jesus said. “Only those whom God helps. (‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬ NLT)

We are so small minded that without the help of God we can’t see. We are blinded by the lies of this world. And as it was mentioned Sunday, a lie doesn’t define you.
Lies are the devils way of convincing you that you will never amount to anything.

I am bigger than a lie!
