Matthew 27

1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.

8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

10 And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.

11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

36 And sitting down they watched him there;

37 And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews.

38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:

58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

  1. 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

    51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Jesus could have called the heavens down to save him but he died for our sins. The pain he went through so we could be saved. The love he has for us is incomparable. There is nothing I can do to repay the price of what he did for me, beside trying to be the best person I can be and tell everyone else what he has done for us. And what to do so they can be saved.

  2. 3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Who we repent to and What we do with our repentance is just as important as repenting. He repented to the chief priest and elders, but not to Jesus. If I come to the church and start talking and gossiping about Bro. so and so, and go to our pastor and say pastor I am so sorry, yes I have repented but I have not received the forgiveness of Bro. so and so which is the damaged victim of my actions. A lot of us do that because of pride it is easier to go to the leader and say sorry but harder to look at the person we have harmed with our actions and say sorry. So in all reality Judah has not received forgiveness. I compare this to going through life with the wrong Baptism. Sure, you were obedient, you went, got baptized in the name of the father, son, and the Holy Ghost; but in all reality like our Bro. David Smith will say you were obedient, and you got wet. Acts. 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. HIS NAME IS JESUS. We have repented, we have asked for forgiveness to the wrong party involved. There is only ONE THAT CAN FORGIVE YOU AND GIVE YOU ETERNAL LIFE AND THAT IS JESUS. Judah gets the wrong part of the deal, he is a tool in the adversaries plan. Jesus HAD to die for the forgiveness of our sins. The devil had no idea of the plans, he fell right into the trap, because Judah first concern was the money…in everything that was his responsibility but he took it too far. In an angry outburst he betrays Jesus. We all do stupid things in our anger outburst believe me I am good at that, but after you are done with that anger there are words you must be humble enough to go pick up, lives you must be humble enough to restore, hearts you must be humble enough to help repair. My advice if you do fix it quickly and to the right party and that is hard because sometimes we have opened our mouth, offended and we don’t even know we have. So, people if someone has offended you instead of being angry for ever and let that rage in your heart continue to grow and that resentment continue to grow to an amount that then when that person ask for forgiveness you might forgive but never forget that is not worth it. Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
The only way to sin not is to take care of it quickly, don’t let the sun go down. Remember TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION, REPENT, GET BAPTIZE IN JESUS NAME FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN, AND RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST.
    IT IS NOT EASY
    1. Ask forgiveness from the correct party JESUS
    2. Get things cleaned up, repair BAPTISM
    3. Forgive and Forget, continue a better life HOLY GHOST.

  3. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; -Matthew 27:51

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, -Matthew 27:52

And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. -Matthew 27:53

Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. -Matthew 27:54

There is power in knowing the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The veil that separated man from the presence of God was torn down through the death of Jesus Christ.

Death is defeated through the cross of Calvary!

Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” -1 Corinthians 15:54 NET

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” -1 Corinthians 15:55 NET

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. -Ephesians 4:8

I was once held captive by my sin, but Jesus came and saved my soul.

  4. 52. And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

    53. And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Can you imagine the fear in their hearts when they realized that His death was so powerful that it brought the dead to life?
These graves were opened because He died, but the next time graves are opened it will be because He rose from the dead.
His resurrection gave us an opportunity to rise from our spiritual death as well, and to live eternally with Him.

  5. In reading this chapter, it brings to my mind how many speak evil, speak nonsense and even misconstrue what they really don’t understand. Pilate kept asking the people, “Then what do I do with Jesus, the so-called Christ?”. They didn’t really know Him, as is the case today. There are so many who still do not know Him. Lord help us (POFW) to reach this city.

  6. iLove to eat the Word

14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

He marveled greatly because most people would beg for their lives. This concept is very strange to the carnal person. We live in a world today where we must embrace the very thought of death. The time is coming and now is that the Christians around the world will be threatened with death because of thier faith. We must practice now what we are going to do when our time comes. How can the enemy threaten us with death…it’s like being threatened with a really great retirement plan. Jesus knew his destiny and he embraced his death.

  7. 17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you?

Pilate wanted to distance himself from what he saw as a good man that had done no harm. History tells us that Pilate washed his hands all the time trying to cleanse them just as he did this day until his death. Pilate took water and washed his hands before the multitude saying I am innocent of the blood of this just person. Pilate’s wife had a dream that troubled her and told Pilate to have nothing to do with this just man!
Pilate was washing in the wrong water If he had been cleansed in baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ, he could have cleansed himself.
These Jews were looking for Messiah: but when Messiah came they did not accept him, because he was not what they thought he should be. Many people today are looking for something else, but when it is not what they thought it should be they miss the call. We should never predetermine what we want church to be or what we want life to bring. We should accept the truth when we are confronted with truth.
Even Pilate himself said when all this tumult was going on,
    What is truth?
Pilate could tell Jesus was just and innocent, why could not these Jews?
They were deceived!! If we are not very careful we will be deceived also and never see what God wants us to see.
The spirit of deception is alive and in the land today, many people are deceived, about The Holy Ghost and The Godhead. The most common teaching is the trinity and that you can’t still get The Holy Ghost. This is a lie hatched in the minds of people who were not sold out in the books of acts of the Apostles.

1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Even in that day deception was real and as we approach the end deception is on every corner.
Even if it were possible he would deceive the very Elect.

  8. Jesus’ enemies believed more of what he said (vs 63) than his disciples. No matter how sure they tried to make things secure, God can always make sure his will his accomplished. God will always have his way no matter what. Knowing his word and commandments and following them will save us a lot of grief.

  9. Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? (‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭13‬ KJV)

    Influence ….

Who are we being influenced by?

The governor putting his guard down to please the people.

Am I out to please the world? Or will I simply do what is right? Every second is crucial to every Christian, but, if you already have it made up in your mind that you will follow Christ, then you do well.

Yes, Temptations will come. That’s where you need to excersice your faith and speak the word of The Lord. Stand firm in what you know is right and true. Don’t sell yourself short and miss out on what The Lord has for you.

Don’t be influenced by the lust of the world. It only brings temporary gratification with a long term of heartaches and bondage!
Close your ears to the negative, to the nay sayers, do what you know is right.

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭16‬:‭13‬ NLT)

When you think of it, our government is weak, because they are giving in to what the people want. We have legalized marijuana, homosexuality, and these people want this taught in schools! Abortions galore, as if there was no life in these babies…. Righteousness needs to prevail in our country! We need to keep the whole armour of God on, so that we(church) may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil!!! Let’s is go out and be an influence and not be influenced by the deception of the world!

  10. 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

They didn’t understand how he was able to save so many others but not save himself. Just the same there are many today who simply don’t understand certain aspects of our faith. But keep your trust and faith strong in Him and He will not let you down, because in the end, we win!!

  11. How the luster fades…

All sin is an assault against the Holy God, whether it is done in public or in secret. And God, who knows even the innermost secrets of the heart, sees our sin clearly, no matter how well we think we have covered it. As a matter of fact, your secret life is the real test of your character: “As he thinks within himself, so he is” (Prov. 23:7). Do you want to know who you really are? Take a hard look at your private life–especially your innermost thoughts. It was recently told to me to see myself as God sees me. Gaze into the mirror of God’s Word, and allow it to disclose and correct the real thoughts and motives of your heart.

  12. Yes he’ll do it

    Matthew 27:65 (KJV Strong’s)
” 65 — Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.”

I imagine this was said in a sarcastic manner. “Go give it your best shot, do all you can that is humanly possible, however, if this man whose death promoted the sun to darken, the earth to quake, the dead to rise, the veil to rip, and the rocks to rend, said he is going to raise from the dead then he probably will.”

If God said he will do a thing then you can take it to the bank, it shall be done.

    Isaiah 55:11 (KJV Strong’s)
” 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

  13. At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭46‬ NLT)

There are times in our lives where we feel has if we have been abandoned or forsaken but we are right in the Will of God. But it is in our weakness that Our God show himself strong.

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? (‭Psalms‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬ NLT)

  14. Superhero

42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Who is the first superhero for most children? It’s the father figure in there lives. A strong, wise, and caring figure that when in trouble we run too.

What do we think of when we say superhero? Is it Superman with his super strength and flying, Iron-man with all of his gadgets ,or Spider-Man with his ability to shoot webs and sense danger? May I remind you that these are fantasy characters. Make believe. And people believe that they are real and there is also a religion of followers.
These “superheroes” did “save lives” but they still all died in the end.

    Remember these great words.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ )
The true superhero died for all the sins or the world and rasped from the dead. To gave great love is a true superhero quality. To take a bullet for someone. To get in the way to help someone from falling. Jesus is the ultimate superhero and I get to call him Father.

  15. Matthew 27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

  16. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Many times in our life we think God has left us but God said he would never leave us nor forsake us. We serve a mighty God and he is by our side with every step we take.

  17. 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

    51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Everyone says it all the time that he died for us, that when he was on the cross he had us on his mind. It hit me so strong the other day that yeah sure he died for everybody and that’s good…. But really….. He died for me! He died because he knew that I was going to need forgiveness, he knew I would need a second chance. He knew I wouldn’t deserve.it but he did it anyways. And for that I am forever indented to him. For that I will serve him for the rest of my life

  18. THE GUILT OF SIN

Judas who had a seat at the table with JESUS the King of Kings at the last supper in the upper room, chose to betray the Leader of creation, the world and eternity. The pleasure and treasure of sin last only momentarily for Judas and we see GUILT demonstrated through the actions of Judas. GUILT caused Judas to take his own life.

GUILT pushes humanity away from JESUS and salvation; while CONVICTION draws humanity closer to JESUS and salvation. Man produces GUILT while GOD produces conviction. Our words typically push people away from JESUS while the WORD of GOD will draw people to JESUS.

Sin comes with built in guilt that does not manifest itself until it seems too late to do anything about it. Judas like many others failed to realize that mercy was waiting to be given, grace was standing at guard and forgiveness was at the door. If and when we fail JESUS and fall into sin through poor choices, do not run and hide or cut yourself off, run to JESUS and get yourself in! Get in the CHURCH, get in the presence of JESUS, get in the WORD of GOD.

THE GUILT OF SIN is BUILT in the sin.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  19. “Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!” (‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭40‬ NLT)

JESUS knowing that he has all power and. Authority could had gotten Angels and to put him down from the cross. But his love for mankind. The sun that shines on me and you when we wake up in the morning. Shines on the sinner. Because he decided at that moment. that he was giving himself for payment of our sins. Giving seconds chances. Thank you Jesus for loving us enough to die and hang on the cross for for some reckless people that are just a bunch of sinners. I will forever be grateful. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!

  20. 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

People will sell because of the fear and intimidation priests and elders use to persuade. Jesus’ persecution will not be the last time we’ll have to choose. Will His people yield to the pressure or take dominion and stay under authority? The risk is a temporary physical death, the cost will be an eternal and spiritual death. The spirit of death and hell will be cast into a lake of fire. Hell is hot, if we are slain we gain eternal heaven anyway.

Rev 20: 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

  21. 3, “Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,”
4, “Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed (to hand over, deliver, to help the enemy of or to break faith with) innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.”
5, “And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.”

It’s sad to think that Judas walked with Jesus and was a disciple of Jesus, and yet he betrayed, handed over and delivered to the enemy and broke faith with Jesus, all for 30 pieces of silver. In the end he lost his life. He literally exchanged his life in Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.

We just read in St. Matt 16:26 the other day, “For whatt is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Yet many are still betraying Jesus and breaking faith in Him and exchanging their lives for things of this world. Houses, cars, jobs, entertainment, pleasures, drugs, alcohol, ect., ect., ect.

This reminded me of a song my former Pastor sings called “Not for Sale.” I just want to share a portion of that song.

Well, if you’re living for Jesus, friend, they’ll come a day
That old devil’s gonna try to get you some way
He’ll try you and tempt you with his lies straight from hell
Just say, I belong to Jesus, and devil I’m Not for Sale
Not for Sale, Not for Sale, No way No sir

I belong to the Lamb of God
He purchased me with his precious Blood
I don’t need popularity, I’d rather have what he gave to me
I belong to the King of Kings
He’s my hope, He’s my joy, He’s my everything
I belong tot he Lord God Almighty
I belong to the one who gave His life for me

I belong to the Lamb of God
He purchased me with his precious Blood
I don’t need popularity, I’d rather have what he gave to me
    Some sold convictions for compromise
Some have sold the truth for a pack of lies
Some have sold Testimonies for fortune and fame
I just want to Glorify and Magnify His Name

This heart belongs to Jesus, He saved my soul from hell
This hear belongs to Jesus, O this heart is Not for Sale
Not for Sale, Not for Sale, No way No sir
    Not for Sale

All I have to say is: there is NOTHING in this world worth losing my soul over. My Hear Belongs to JESUS (he bought me with a price) and This Heart is NOT FOR SALE.

  22. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
It’s so sad to think that God had to go thru so much for our sins.Yes we know that Jesus is the messiah. Yes webelieve he is the one and true God. How many signs do God have to give us in order for us to trust him? How many times have we betrayed him with our little faith or our sins from day to day?

  23. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

What a terrible judgement they placed upon themselves AND their innocent children. On this side of the cross they were convinced by jealous men to get rid of Jesus. However, after the crucifixion, they saw signs & wonders- darkness, earthquake, veil of the temple torn & the dead raised-I wonder what went through their minds then? Even the Roman centurion knew this was no ordinary man but truly the Son of God. But it’s too late to undo those terrible words they placed over their lives. Satanic snares are not always easily seen. Sometimes we need to step back-step away & think before we act or react…easier said than done …but regardless, stopping and thinking it through can go a long way in preventing a huge & costly mistake!

  24. I know it was the blood

His blood be be on us, and our children

    What a profound statement!!!!!

They truly didn’t know what they were saying but they were announcing the true baptism.

They and I both need his blood on us and our children! What a proclamation!!!!

Let his blood be upon me and my children!

    Luke 23:34

34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Jesus said this after they crucified him. He was hanging there knowing that his blood would be their ransom and they didn’t even know it.

When the crowd made this statement of his blood being upon them and their children the statement reached into eternity and met me. Every sin that we commit demands that Jesus be crucified. Every time we fail we release Barabbas and crucify Jesus.
Every time we nail him to the cross the statement is heard through eternity, let his blood be in me and my children.

  25. 1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

Jesus was crucified because the people were convinced by the chief priests and the elders that Jesus was not the son of God.

It took Jesus to give up his life So we could live, people aren’t easily convinced even now that Jesus lives . They don’t fear God, Jesus is alive, My prayer is that lost souls will be saved in Jesus name.

  26. In My Place

26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

    Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Jesus endured tremendous agony through the process of his death, but he endured through more than simply the price for our sins. He endured stripes for our healing, and He endured being wronged unjustly. Whenever someone afflicts us wrongly, they cannot do it without first doing it to Jesus. He endured it and is with us through it as one who can not only sympathize but empathize.

    Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  27. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Of course he had all power to come down. The sings wonderes and miracles were everywhere and the people saw them. They just still could not understand that he was doing it by choice…by love. For those same that were crucifying him, to take thier sins, to take thier pains, wounds, hurt, affliction and deseases. What we as deserve when we sin, but he was doing it, to pay the price.

  28. Even till today people mock the POWER of Jesus! When they see something wrong going on in our lives they’ll say where is your God now? But they don’t realize that God died for EVERY single one of us. I’m just so grateful that I was taught 6 years ago the true DOCTRINE where all my PRAISE & TRUST is in JESUS 🙂 & not on other idols.

🎵🎶🎵Who is like You, Lord in all the earth
Who can compare to Your great worth
Worthy of all praise, matchless is Your name
I’ll sing a song of Your great name

    Forever I will praise You
I will lift my hands and praise You
For there is nobody like You
No one else deserves the praise like You do

Who is like You Lord, in all the earth
No one can compare to Your great worth🎵🎶 🎵

  29. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Sometimes we think God has forgotten about us, but he hasn’t he listens to every prayer we pray every word we say and he sees every move we make.😉

  30. Jesus was sold for 30 pieces of silver, and when Judas realized what it cost him to sell the Lord out, he repented, and tried to give back the monies. I wonder what we sell the Lord out for? Riches, houses, lands, choices of convenience…. all these things will mean nothing to us, when we wake up and realize what we have chosen over the love of the Lord.

  31. Who am I?
Jesus was placed before the governor, who questioned him: “Are you the ‘King of the Jews’?” Jesus said, “If you say so.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭11‬ MSG)

This is not the first time in the scriptures that Jesus asks people who he is. He even asked his own disciples. The response is what is the big deal.

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭13-19‬ KJV)

Peter’s response is our example. Because of his faith he was told that he was the rock on which the church would be built. He was Aldo given the keys to sin and death.

The scriptures don’t tell us Pilate’s response. That would only lead me to think that Pilate didn’t respond the same way as Peter.

What will my response be? I want to be like Peter!

  32. 18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

Daily we are all motivated by one thing or another, what is it? Money? Power? Fame? Recognition? Love? Jesus? Pride? Envy?

As disciples, we must become disciplined. We must look at ourselves and our motives, and make sure we serve the King of Kings for the right reasons, love. Our love of Jesus. As we love him, we should become more like him, and display more of his fruit, and if we don’t we seriously need a check up from the neck up.

We should be motivated to reach souls, because He reached for us. We should be driven to evangelize, because someone told us. We cannot allow our envy towards our brother or sister to stop is from sharing His word, but rather we need to forgive, because we were once lost in sin and Jesus laid his life down that weight be forgiven….

  33. 21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

God had to treat Jesus like Barabbas to treat Barrabbas like Jesus. The perfect picture of Gods love towards us.

    Romans 5:8
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Not saying is word sometimes is saying something! As Jesus stood there being accused, not saying a word, said, “Yes, let them have Barrabas” A sinner, a doer of evil, a thief, murderer, deserver of death, and a picture of you and me.

    1 Peter 2:24
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
    Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

  34. 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

Thank you Jesus for laying down your life and shedding your blood for us on the cross. And thank for bearing the stripes for us cause with your stripes we are healed and delivered and set free from the chains the devil means to set on us. By your power we are set free.

Isaiah 52:13-15 Behold my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and exolled and be very high. As many were astonied at thee, his visage was so marred more than any man and his form more than the sons of men. So shall he sprinkle many nations, the kings shall shut their mouths at him, for that which had not been told them shall they see and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

  35. The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. “Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!” The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! (‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭39-42‬ NLT)

There will always be a least one person there to remind you of who you are and what you stand for when times get rough. Even those who followed God himself, watching Him in the miraculous, questioned who He was and what He stood for.

Don’t be discouraged, it’s all in Gods timing

  36. Repent to God

    Matthew 27:4
” saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.””

Judas confesses fault to men not God. Repentance is only complete after it is done or tried on three levels.

    1) by God
    2) by others
    3) by self.

In judas’ case, as it is written, he only tried to get forgiveness from men-the wrong men at that. He would have been better off approaching the apostles for that.

It is interesting to see that his greed for money is abandoned in his remorse. When we are confronted with truth, things in this world lose their perceived value.

  37. “Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.” They cared nothing for Judas, as they used him only, to accomplish what they wanted. The deceiver (satan) doesn’t care either, as he will also use one, if allowed, to accomplish what he wants. However the Lord (Jesus) truly cares, as was proven, when he willing endured for one and all, and made away for one and all; “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word! God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

  38. JESUS on the cross !!! Stripes for our healings. He took all sins upon him. He forgave us, and he loves us. THANK YOU JESUS !!!!
