Mark 2

1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.

14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.

24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?

27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

  1. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

We are also called to teach and help the sinners find thier way to the Lord.

  2. And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? (‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭14-16‬ KJV)
I’m so greatful for his love, and his mercy that the Lord has for me.
The Lord never seen me with eyes of the flesh, but he sees me with his love, reaching out to me, that I may be saved.
I’m sorry to say, that sometimes we see people with the eyes of the flesh. As people walk in to the church, into the building, with the hearts broken, with addictions in their lives, with fear and torments, with no hope, and hungry.
If we the church don’t know how to receive and to love all those that come in through the doors, people would just turn around and leave as he came in. They leave without hope. We need to be careful and know how to handle every person, everyone of them are extreay fragile. They come with different back grounds, no one is the same.
We as the church have expirenced brokenness, tragedy, hopelessness, addictions, abuse, etc. but, we’ve been healed by the spoken word of a loving master!! Jesus never looked at our financial status whether to see if we are worthy of his calling, but looked at our hearts, seen the need, and met with each and every one of us. Hallelujah! We all come from different backgrounds, and it is us that make up the church and in who we are today. For we are the Pentecostals of Fort Worth.

For there is no respect of persons with God. (‭Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ KJV)

I pray and hope that POFW will become all that The Lord has been to us!

  3. 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.

These people marveled at the work of Jesus Christ and said: we never saw it on this fashion. Jesus only spoke to the sick and told them to take up their bed and walk, thy sins be forgiven thee.
When Jesus began his ministry at the age 30, these people were awe struck because they were seeing these things for the first time.
Jesus said though these works shall ye do and greater works if we have faith.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

The people of God should be able to do great works in these last days and even greater works than what our fathers and fore fathers have been blessed with.

  4. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

What a beautiful expression of friendship. I know of so many of my Bro. & Sis. in the Lord that have lifted me up in their prayers and so many time they have lower me down to His presence when I have not have the strength to do it myself. For that I am so very grateful. The sad thing is that there is always both side, the friends that will come pick you up, lower you down to the Lord, and the others that will sit in the corner and murmur about how it should of or would of, or the way they could of done it; but they did not. It does not matter the when, the how, or the order of process. UNTIL my Lord heals me, my Sis. & Bro, and I, will REJOICE AND GLORIFY LIKE NEVER BEFORE. FOR OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS GOOD ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE THE HE IS GOOD.

  5. HALELUJAH!!!
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

JESUS saw THEIR faith…… What does GOD see in us??? HE saw their faith and he was healed!!!

I PRAISE YOU JESUS!!! HALELUJAH!!! I love you DADDY!!!

  6. vs 4-5 Sometimes it takes work to get others to Jesus. we should be willing to do whatever it takes and pray and believe for them. It may be that it is our faith for them that will get Jesus’ attention.

  7. 16 The religion scholars and Pharisees saw him keeping this kind of company and lit into his disciples: “What kind of example is this, acting cozy with the riff-raff?” 17 Jesus, overhearing, shot back, “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? I’m here inviting the sin-sick, not the spiritually-fit.” MSG
Even Jesus ate with the sinners, we shouldn’t have so much pride in ourselves that we think we are too good to eat with the sinner. We are to love the sinner not the sin. If we think we are too good to sit with the sinner what do you think God think of us?

  8. Outbreak

    Mark 2:3-4 (KJV Strong’s)
” 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.”

    Mark 2:11-12 (KJV Strong’s)
” 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.”

“Never Despair. Never let a good crisis go to waste.” – Winston Churchill

The Church is living in the final hour. Within a short drive from where we live, Dallas has the first American citizen with the Ebola virus.

The media, and society has gone into a frenzy. Pandemic preparedness package sales on Amazon have skyrocketed up more than 1000%.

Parents have pulled their children out of schools, and many no doubt are making plans to move from the area.

    The word needs help.

The apostles did not pray for deliverance but for boldness!

It is my strong belief that this can become a different kind of outbreak. The moment someone is healed of this disease in a Pentecostal church it will create such a stir that people will flock in droves to the altar.

Conversions will go through the roof. Instead of being fearful and hiding we must stand and be the church! We have the power to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover!

Pray and claim this set of scriptures!

    Psalms 91:1-11 (KJV Strong’s)
” 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
    and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
    nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
    6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side,
    and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge,
    even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee,
neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.”

God send an outbreak of Revival!

  9. NTL 6 But some of the teachers of religious law who were sitting there thought to themselves, 7“What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!”

The scribes or the leaders of the church believed they were they only ones capable of forgiving sins and praying for the sick. The scribes were just looking for ways to judge Jesus words and find fault in him. They were looking at Jesus as a regular man. Like Bro Morgan preached, spiritually their eyes were heavy and closed, to see who Jesus really was.

  10. AMAZING FAITH

12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

There are so many wonderful things that generate and create GREAT FAITH in the Kingdom of GOD. Was it the determination of the 4 of a Kind the overcame a Full house? Was it the critical questioning of the Pharisees?

I believe the reason for the Miraculous acts of FORGIVENESS and HEALING are the result of the LOVE of GOD toward and for humanity. Because JESUS loves that man lowered through the roof of that house, he forgave him and healed him.

May GOD move upon our hearts in these last days to be determined to bring the sick to JESUS that HE may express his love for man and through healing and salvation that AMAZING FAITH would spread throughout our land and the profession is made such as in verse 12…

We never saw it on this fashion.

  11. 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

God is all knowing and He is the “I AM.” He does not come to you without purpose. His purpose was to seek and save the lost. He is not only a physician to the physical body but the spirit, mind, the whole man. A wounded spirit can sometimes be the worse sickness one will ever experience but thanks be to God, for He cares about every area of our lives.

  12. I can’t help but think that the man who was sick of palsy and the men who brought him to Jesus were saying to themselves “Jesus, today you will save me/this man!” They had great faith and because of it this man was healed and beyond that he was forgiven his sins! What a mighty savior You are Lord!

Jesus, today You will save me!

  13. iLove to eat the Word

7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

The religious folk understood what the words of Jesus meant. They understood that only God could forgive. How could this man forgive what only God could forgive? They understood the importance of blood sacrifice. They didn’t see any blood. Even the High Priest needed blood to roll the sins of humanity forward one year. They didn’t see blood, but they were missing the point of the blood in the first place. The sacrifice of blood was never meant to just be a ritual but was meant to express FAITH. The blood had always and will always be about faith.

5 “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

The faith of these friends was able to administer forgiveness and apply the blood from the future sacrifice of the spotless Lamb of God.

This same faith is what gives us freedom today. Faith in the unseen blood of Jesus. Faith is as simple as believing and obeying the Word of God.

  14. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Sometimes we need help breaking through. The man sick of the palsy needed help, he knew he was sick but he couldn’t help hisself anymore. Aside from being bedridden there were more obstacles between him and his miracle. He had four friends that were willing to bind together and help him get to his miracle. It was their faith that bridged the gap. Sometimes in the altar while praying it’s the same way people come to the altar knowing they need Jesus but can’t cross their own barriers. Then ministry steps in and believers begin to pray with each other. Faith is elevated and breakthroughs can happen.

    Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

  15. Never saw this before.

    Mark 2:12
” And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!””

Fort Worth get ready to say,”we never saw anything like this before!” Let the healing crusades begin. Pofw, it’s time to get out of our comfort zones, set aside the weights that keep us bound, and bring the healing ministry to our jobs, schools, and homes. Healing the sick is a faith builder and this world needs faith to be built.

After the miraculous comes the down pouring of the spirit. It’s time for revival like we’ve never seen before.

  16. 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus has come to seek and to save that which is lost. It’s time we get our eyes off of those that are already saved, and look to the fields …. they are white with harvest just waiting on someone to come and bring them truth.

  17. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

It’s not always going to be easy to get the people to God , but we as Christains should always be willing to do whatever it takes to help them find their way to God. Lord I pray that you use me to help reach the lost souls.

  18. 1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

We need to have faith in God and he will do great things!!😏

  19. 22, “And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.”

When I read this I thought about people and the Holy Ghost. A man cannot put new wine in an old bottle because the bottle will break, but new wine must be put into new bottles. Jesus (the Holy Ghost) cannot live in an old, dirty, sin filled (old vessel) heart, yet Jesus (the Holy Ghost) can and desires to live in one that has been cleaned up (repentance and baptism in Jesus Name) and made new.

Ezekiel 36:26a says, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you…”
2 Cor. 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Thank You JESUS for giving me a new heart and making me a new creature in you.

  20. 1-7
Modern medicine sees a vital connection between health and mental well being. The Bible links all sickness and suffering to our sseparation from God. Sickness is a sympton and a result of sin. Thus mans deepest need is not for physical healing but for spiritual wholeness . Jesus cares enough to meet our deepest needs.

  21. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Your faith can jump start a miracle.

  22. 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance

Thank you Jesus.. you knew I would need forgiveness…. Thank you for loving me, for being somebody that I can trust

  23. 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles

I know that the person I used to be could not have understood the magnitude of the Word of God. I had to be made new first. A new vessel for that NEW WINE!! Thank you, JESUS!!! 🙂

  24. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. (‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬ NKJV)

This is great faith. Jesus saw this mans faith and the faith that his friends had and he blessed the man because he had great faith!

Abraham was found righteous because of his faith in God

  25. “And immediately when Jesus perceived in his Spirit that they so reasoned within themselves”. The Lord (Jesus) was well aware of what their thoughts were before they ever even entered into their hearts. All the more is the reason why one must pray, read the word of God and continually check self, eleswise one could also perceive in one’s heart what one should not. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  26. Mark 2:8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Jesus senses their indignation and addresses them directly, as in Mark He is inclined to do

  27. 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Many times we totally miss it. We try so hard to figure out there letter of the law, and miss what the law says…

  28. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

FAITH IS WHAT WE NEED!!!! Believing and trusting in God and ONLY God!

    Faith
    A.Relating to God
the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ
    B.Relating to Christ
a strong and welcome conviction or belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God
    C.the religious beliefs of Christians
D.belief with the predominate idea of trust (or confidence) whether in God or in Christ, springing from faith in the same

    SO POWERFUL!!!

  29. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Jesus is a great God he is a man of his word.

  30. Thank you JESUS that you forgive our sins and that the miracles are signs that we too can have extreme forgives of our sins! Think about the miracle of cancer being healed. Wow. Imagine a sin so bad that your death is right around the corner and then you get forgiveness that allows you to live longer and help others get forgiveness.

  31. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus knew the importance of reaching out to those who don’t believe, you can’t just shun yourself from your friends and family who don’t believe in God, you may be their lifeline in finding out the truth that God died for the sins and wants to wash them away as white as snow.

  32. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

Sometimes you have to break up what is keeping you from your miracle – it’s not always going to be easy, but God may be checking to see if you want it bad enough to work for it.

  33. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

Sometimes what we need to do is push through, the multitudes, the fears, the doubts, the voices, the condemnation, what people may think, or say knowing and believing if I can just get a touch from Jesus. Just come with that hunger knowing that He is greater and mightier than any situation…

    Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

  34. Friendship

    John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

The four friends who brought the man who had palsy to Jesus displayed not only faith in Jesus but great love for their friend. There was a huge crowd waiting to see Jesus, they could have taken that opportunity of having Jesus’ attention to ask for their own needs, yet they put themselves aside for the sake of Jesus touching the life of their friend in need. True friendship works miracles in our lives, not simply through actions and prayers that friends make on our behalf, but in that true, godly friendship allows the love of God to flow freely and His ministry to be alive in the midst of the unity of friendship.

  35. The way witnessing is meant to be.

14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

It was easy for the man to get up and follow
Him without question. I don’t know this mans background concerning knowing Jesus before this even but it would be safe to say that he trusted Jesus. There is an easy sell when someone trusts you. When your reputation proceeds you in a positive way it is easy for people to believe what your saying.

    Proverbs 22:
1 A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold.

The reason this scripture is so true is because everything , even money, comes easier with a good name.

When the name of Jesus is spoken his reputation proceeds him. He is the King of kings The Lord of Lords the Almighty God. It should be easy to follow him.

    Here is the problem though…..

If we are truly “Jesus Name” people or “People of the Name” does out reputation live up to the Name ? Or are we polluting his reputation among the unbelievers because of our testimony?

The answer to witnessing effectively is as Jesus showed us over and over again. He didn’t budge on righteousness or doctrine. He didn’t move on ethics or morals. He was solid in his faith and his lifestyle. His word meant something because it was true. No one will follow if they don’t trust you.

Be a witness everywhere you go and protect your testimony and people will rude and follow you at your word!!!!!!!

    iLead

  36. And when they could not get him to a place in front of Jesus because of the throng, they dug through the roof above Him; and when they had scooped out an opening, they let down the [thickly padded] quilt or mat upon which the paralyzed man lay. And when Jesus saw their faith [their confidence in God through Him], He said to the paralyzed man, Son, your sins are forgiven [you] and put away [that is, the penalty is remitted, the sense of guilt removed, and you are made upright and in right standing with God]. (‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭4-5‬ AMP)

Lord help me see what measure of faith you have given me. Let it be activated and active.

The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God). And the Lord answered, If you had faith (trust and confidence in God) even [so small] like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you. (‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭5-6‬ AMP)

  37. Jesus healed a man of palsy 3. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5. When je’-sus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. 6. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 7. Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? Job 14 : 4 8. And immediately when Je’-sus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? 9. Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 10. But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, ( he saith to the sick of the palsy, ) 11. I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST !!!! JESUS YOU ARE MY HEALER !!!!!
