Mark 7

1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.

2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.

3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.

5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:

15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.

25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

  1. 32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

    What holds more weight the religion and traditions of men or the word of God?? Coming from the Catholic religion where everything is a ritual and tradition I can tell you that the religion of men is empty and lacks emotion. We go through the motions out of respect and tradition but everything is dead.
    Here we see the healing of a deaf man. I picked this verse for in the same way many of us go through life with deaf ears, closing ourselves to what God wants us to hear. It is like holding a conversation and both people speaking at the same time. No one listens to the other person for they are too busy listening to themselves in the first place. We must stop talking and start listening. It is time to watch for the signs, miracles, and wonder that are to come, and are all around us, for NOW IS THE TIME, TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION. BE AWARE, LISTEN TO THE ONES THAT ARE SHOUTING THE ALARM AND SOUNDING THE TRUMPETS OF ZION.

  2. 15. There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

    21. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
    22. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
    23. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

    Psalm 51:10 KJV
    Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

  3. 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

    It is what we put forth that matters . We pray over what we put in our mouth. Maybe that is what we need to do before we say and do any thing else. Because what we say or what we do definess us and also effects others.

  4. 2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
    We should be careful to live right before God as others are watching and will attempt to find fault with our lives. However, as long as we are living by the word then we have nothing to be worried about.

  5. After reading this chapter, this song came to my mind “The Heart of Worship”:

    When the music fades
    All is stripped away
    And I simply come
    Longing just to bring
    Something that’s of worth
    That will bless Your heart
    I’ll bring You more than a song
    For a song in itself
    Is not what You have required
    You search much deeper within
    Through the way things appear
    You’re looking into my heart

    I’m coming back to the heart of worship
    And it’s all about You,
    It’s all about You, Jesus
    I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
    When it’s all about You,
    It’s all about You, Jesus

    King of endless worth
    No one could express
    How much You deserve
    Though I’m weak and poor
    All I have is Yours
    Every single breath
    I’ll bring You more than a song
    For a song in itself
    Is not what You have required
    You search much deeper within
    Through the way things appear
    You’re looking into my heart

  6. iLove to eat the Word

    We Need the Spirit of Humility
    Mark 7:27-30
    (27) But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

    I can only use my imagination while meditating on this scripture. Just imagine with me for a moment. Jesus walks into a pentecostal church dressed in a suit and tie as a visiting evangelist. He calls a member or guest a dog. Oh my goodness, can you imagine the backlash. The emails would start coming in, there would have to be meetings with the pastor, maybe even counseling, and the church would be blasted on the internet, it might even end up in the local paper.

    The challenge with today’s society is we are full of pride. This lady received her miracle because of her humility. Maybe God would do greater miracles if we started passing our tests with the spirit of humility.

    Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

  7. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

    8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

    9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

    These people like many today were more interested in keeping the tradition they had been taught than believing the truth.
    Our tradition will make us reject the commandment of God,we cannot have tradition and truth. Truth cannot be mixed with anything it has to stand alone!

    12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

    13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

    The Word of God will have no effect if we do not break away from the tradition that we have been taught. I was raised a Methodist and joined the Methodist church as a young man, but when I went to a Pentecostal Church I knew they had something the others did not have and I knew I had to have it. Thank God I was willing to follow truth instead of the tradition of my family.

  8. And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. -Mark 6:47
    And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. -Mark 6:48
    But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: -Mark 6:49

    Stay in the ship. He controls the winds and the waves. Keep rowing press your way into the winds that are contrary to you. Just know he sees your toiling and will come to you in the midst of your storm.

    Be encouraged and look for him to show up.
    Be blessed today in Jesus name.

  9. There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. -Mark 7:15

    Whats coming out?
    What spirits are harvesting in your life?

    It’s what comes out of a persons heart that matters to God.

    Things of this world can enter our bodies, but we mustn’t allow them to stick around and dirty our hearts. We must daily repent and seek the face of God.

  10. What’s in your heart?

    And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (‭Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭20-23‬ KJV)

    It is important to keep your your heart clean at all times. 24/7 do we feel, an emotion that provokes the mind, then the mouth speaks, if your not careful the words you speak can break and destroy an individual present life, and their future!
    You know when you’ve sinned against GOD, others , and self. You may not always say what your feeling. But as the saying goes ‘ actions speak louder than words.” You can tell when someone has something against an individual by the way they treat them. They keep away from you. They’re short with their words. Then they go and gossip about you. What a mess to clean up! All because of what’s in the heart of man.

    The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9-10‬ KJV)

    Keep praying, keep growing in The Lord, keep reading His word, be filled with the Holy Ghost daily. And you will see that which you have put into heart will bring life and not death. Life for you, and others.

  11. Corban

    Mark 7:11 (KJV Strong’s)
    ” 11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.”

    Corban is money dedicated and given for the work of God, and the temple.

    In the Talmud it states that Jews were much given to making vows to God with no intention of carrying them out.

    The law made it very clear God’s views on taking care of the parents.

    Leviticus 20:9 (KJV Strong’s)
    “9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.”

    Neglecting to honor parents was punishable by death.

    What was happening is that the Pharisees were telling their parents they could not help them financially because what they had was dedicated to the temple.

    This practice became so wide spread that eventually the Jews, when challenged about their neglect of duty, would simply say Corban.

    However this money was many times never given to the work of God, but kept for themselves.

    In our fast paced society we shout Corban through other means. When we neglect time with family, time in prayer, time in the word, time reaching the lost, and time for other duties because of Church attendance we cry Corban.

    Yes be at church every time the door is open, but we are not justified in neglecting other responsibilities because we are at church.

    We must spend time with

    1. God – this means scheduling prayer, devotion, reflection, and mediation, and developing a relationship.

    2. Family – playing with our children, teaching them the word, praying with them, helping around the house, spending time with our spouse.

    3. Self – taking time to relax, reflect, and rest. Enjoy something that we enjoy occasionally

    Our priorities must be in line, but all of the above must be fit in to have productive kingdom life.

    When we neglect family
    1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV Strong’s)
    ” 8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”

    When we neglect God
    Matthew 7:23 (KJV Strong’s)
    ” 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

    When we neglect self we neglect others
    Mark 12:31 (KJV Strong’s)
    ” 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

    We cannot buy into the lie that God understands, he knows our hearts, he sees what we are doing, it is an offering, it is a gift. Corban

    James 2:10 (KJV Strong’s)
    ” 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

  12. 27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

    28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs

    The humility of this woman is amazing! To be openly humiliated but Jesus himself but still seek his help shows that this woman understood who Jesus was and his power. She understood that no one else could deliver deliver her daughter and so she humbled herself and as a result got her answer from God

  13. CREATIVE MIRACLES MAKE POWERFUL TESTIMONIES

    36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
    37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

    Most peole seek to live a peaceful, uneventful life. It is a challenging reminder that without an impossibility there is no need for a miracle. I believe we all love to hear the incredible testimonies of the mighty works of the hand of GOD as long as it is in someone else’s lfe.

    Each of us possess a miraculous testimony, some have greater triumph and detail than others. Everyone that has been Born Again of the Water and the Spirit can testify that JESUS has done a MIRACLE in our life, the fact that we Speak with tongues as HIS Spirit gives ability is a MIRACLE.

    We have been BLESSED at The POFW to see physical miracles, cancer healed, blind eyes healed, addictions delivered and so many other wonderful works of GOD. Lets GO TELL IT to every one we meet.

    The NIV reads:
    36 Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it.

    Lets keep talking about what JESUS is doing.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iTestify
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  14. The response for your miracle.

    28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
    29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

    What if God was waiting in you for a response to release your miracle. Our church is at this point. For if we would have 100% give in one month to IFT it has been said tgat God would open up doors. So let’s make this month happen.

  15. He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ (‭Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭6-7‬ NKJV)

    We may be posers to the world proclaiming good new. Telling and making your self sound good. Selling the truth so you can look good. You may see yourself as “saved”
    But are you really “saved”?. Cause in your hearts there’s nothing but deceitful plans. And your heart is far from JESUS. There is no absolute prayer life and eating of the word. There is no true relationship.

    We need to be personally sold out.

  16. 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

    What am I talking about today? Who am I talking to? God has done so many great things for me and others that I have plenty to tell others about, yet so many times I keep it to myself.

    Even those these were told to tell no man, they couldn’t keep it to themselves. We must become like that as well. I gotta tell somebody what the Lord has done for me.

  17. 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

    20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

    21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

    22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

    23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

    Our hearts are evil, we can’t help that. We are born into sin and stray away from God naturally, but it is only by his grace that we are able to return to him. I thank god for being so understanding that we are not perfect, for creating us far from perfect so that we might seek the perfection of his holy presence. Search me oh God and know my heart! See if there be any wicked way in me and lead me on a path everlasting

  18. 31-37
    This miracle too is performed in Gentile territory. The Jewish leaders refuse to hear what Jesus says. He will open the ear of strangers and there loosened tongues will sing his praise.

  19. 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

    How can you keep silent when God does such an awesome miracle? When you’re on the receiving end of a miracle you want others to come and get their needs met too! It’s just like wanting people to come and hear the born again message and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! It’s not in us to keep such great gifts to ourselves. We are created to ‘Go, tell’ and that’s what we do when God moves in our lives.

  20. 26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

    I don’t believe that the bible ever mentions this lady as becoming a follower of Jesus. She sought jesus for a miracle for her daughter and departed once attained. Jesus wasn’t surprised by her not coming back. His love and mercy stretched beyond his chosen people to all his creation. It’s hard to wrap my mind around people who only come to church to get their miracle but have no desire to commit to him or follow him especially once receiving it. But God isn’t surprised, he knows men’s hearts and he loves all of his creation. How awesome to serve a God who doesn’t limit his love to a few but spreads it in abundance.

  21. What’s on your mind? Ever thought “I would like to give him a piece of my mind.”

    According to the Cambridge dictionary, giving a piece of your mind is “to speak angrily to someone about something they have done wrong:” These verses and this definition does not speak well of a Christian attitude towards relationships with fellow humans. It is ok to be angry; Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath

    It is ok to tell someone that you are angry with them or angry over something that was done. We can resolve most conflicts by one action. Forgive and/or ask forgiveness of your actions and self. Most of the time this is the only step that is needed to restore relationships.

  22. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
    22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
    23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

    Defile-to make common
    to make (Levitically) unclean, render unhallowed, defile, profane
    to declare or count unclean
    All these things make us unclean. That’s why it’s so important to have the Holy Ghost every single day so we can be clean and do Gods will. If we have all these evil things in our heart the mind starts getting blury, your mouth gets dirty, your ears don’t hear Gods voice anymore!!!!! Let us be aware and receive the Holy Ghost daily 🙂
    In you I trust Jesus!!!! 🙂

  23. It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart. ” (‭Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭15‬ NLT)

    Be careful on what you let come out of your mouth. There will always be someone listening..

  24. Legalism; religiosity

    Mark 7:6-8
    ” And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
    “‘This people honors me with their lips,
    but their heart is far from me;
    in vain do they worship me,
    teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
    You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.””

    A subtle form of pride. It is not uncommon that men like to hold true to the ceremonial laws and abandon the morale ones. Consider Bathsheba. She baths on a rooftop to comply with the cleansing after menstruation, but abandons morality through adultery.

    Similar the Pharisees were focused on the outward, much like Israel when King Saul was anointed as king.

    This reoccurring theme is prevalent today within many Spirit filled churches and even more dead churches.

    We must be careful and search our hearts to avoid this folly.

  25. 33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

    34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

    35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain

  26. 25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

    26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

    Lord help me to have a clean spirit!😉

  27. 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

    Do we worry about what goes in our mouth more than what is in our hearts and mind? Evil can creep into our mind with just one single thought. We need to be carful with what we let in our hearts and mind. We cannot fool God with the outside, he knows what’s on the inside. My heart is fixed and my mind is made up I’m going to live for God on the inside and out.

  28. 7, “Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
    8, “For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.”

    This is what is wrong with alot of people today. They are stuck on tradition of what they have been taught of men (believing in man’s doctrine), that they don’t even know the commandments of God or what His Word says. Just like Bishop Foster said last night in Leadership Class, “You have to RSVP the Word everyday.” READ it, STUDY it, VERBILIZE it, and PERFORM it. Don’t just believe in what man says, but read and study the Word for yourself, so that you know what it says and what the commandments of God are. (His Doctrine)

    Colossians 2:6-8 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him. Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosopy and vain deceit, after the traditions of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

  29. “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” They were well aware of the commandments of God (Jesus), however they placed more emphasis on their traditions. One should be far more concerned with God’s commandments over tradition, as tradition will not determine where one spends eternity. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  30. 28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

    29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

    How much faith do you have? Do you believe even if you get one touch from Jesus that your situation will be turned around? I believe it will! All it takes is one crumb to fall from the Master’s table.

  31. There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him. but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

  32. Dogs & Men

    27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

    28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

    Judges 7:5-7
    5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

    6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

    7 And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

    A dog was seen as being lowly yet a dog combined humility with positioning itself to receive of its master. We can have humility but without proper position, we can still miss out. If we are to truly serve in the Kingdom, we must have proper positioning with our Master and persistence in seeking Him even when resistance comes. The difference that makes may not seem immediately apparent, but a time will come when it will make the difference for us.

    Luke 10:39-42
    39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

    40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

    41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

    42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

  33. Traditions and Doctrine
    13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

    I find in my field of practice that men do things the way that their daddy taught them even to their own folly. I often ask the question of why do you do it that way and they say “its the way my dad taught me.” They have no other reasoning for their way other than that. My father was not a church going man but he was a good man full of morals. He would often say that without education the construction business would be full of daddy’s handed down mistakes. This is why you need an architect and a builder. Someone who knows the proper course and procedure to accountably oversee the installed plans. This carnal example is not unlike the spiritual principle defined here. The passing down of tradition and reasoning without the study of the Word of God is dangerous. We are building so much more than brick and mortar walls here, we are building eternity. So why take a chance on carnal folly. The handing down of traditions.

    2 Timothy 2:15
    Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth

    We are not approved or disproved by anything but the word of God. In the end this is what will judge all of us. Let us start to search out why we do the things we do. We may find that the most precious of traditions have nothing to do with the word of God.

  34. 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

    16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

    17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

    18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

    19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

    A matter of the heart.
    What are the things that we allow to affect our heart? What are we feeding into it. We are instructed in proverbs to guard our hearts for out of it spring forth the issues of life. I asked myself the question what can be the best way to keep my heart safe? Meditating on this I was reminded of David’s prayer after he had repented of his sin that the Lord had rebuked him on. He prayed for his heart and surrendered it to the will of God. “Create in me” which means through prayer asking the Lord to do something with it. What? A clean heart. Why not then build it with the Word, Jesus, and guard it with prayer surrendering daily to his will a clean heart. And then put of the abundance of the heart our mouths will speak. He is an expert in hearts and heart surgery and desires for to give him our hearts. That we may not have envy or contentions, or disunity and that we may have all things common. It’s a heart issue ..

    Proverbs 23:26
    My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

  35. Dogs !!!! 25. For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: 26. The woman was a Greek, a Sy’-ro-phe-ni’-ci-an by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 27. But Je’-sus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. 28. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs. 29. And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. THANK YOU JESUS FOR DELIVERANCE !!!!!

  36. 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

    37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

    Miracle after miracle, so much unbelief but once your miracle comes to pass all you want to do is tell everyone you come across. Jesus is our healer, give him the glory that he deserves .
