Luke 5

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?

23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.

28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

33 And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

34 And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

36 And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

  1. Psalm 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus is of course not dealing with the question of whether there are in fact righteous people who need no repentance. By righteous He refers to the Pharisees, who thought they were righteous, and thus felt they had no need to repent. They were truly self- righteous.

  2. 29. And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

Are we preparing a feast for Jesus in our homes? No, not physical food as Levi did when He was present in the flesh, but are we feeding Him with praise, worship, and a Godly lifestyle in our homes where no one can see us? If we want Him in our homes, we must create an environment where He feels welcome.

  3. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

There are two lessons to be learned here, one Always obey the word of Jesus Christ, for he is never wrong. Jesus upon entering the ship said launch out into the deep and let down your nets. Simon wanting to show his fishing abilities said we had already tried all night and there are no fish there. Simon thou willing to obey Jesus said we will do this anyway, but with no faith in his actions. When the task was completed they had so many fish their nets seem to began to break and called for another boat to help carry all the fish.
Lesson one always believe Jesus and trust him. He knows all things!!
Lesson two Peter falls down at his feet and says I am a sinful man, because he doubted the word of Jesus. We should never doubt, but believe God can do all things. The reason we do not get a lot of things is because of our doubt. We pray but do not believe, let’s start believing God can do all things and remove doubt out of our lives!!

  4. The story told in the first eleven verses spoke to me about being chosen. You don’t have to be perfect to be chosen….you just have to be obedient (the desire to live a sinless life will come with your changed life). Simon followed Jesus’ instructions from the moment he stepped into his boat. He went from a sinful man to an obedient disciple of Jesus Christ.

Verses 31-32 MSG “Jesus heard about it and spoke up, “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? I’m here inviting outsiders, not insiders—an invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out.” Same verses CEV “Jesus answered, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor, but sick people do. I didn’t come to invite good people to turn to God. I came to invite sinners.” Same verses NLT “Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” Help us Lord to come together…united in reaching the lost.

  5. The old becomes new….
This chapter talks about how Jesus helps the sinners come to repentance and to follow him (Jesus).

Thankyou Jesus for changing this vessel of old wine and turning it to new wine…I was a total rebellious person didnt even know God…but now the Lord has changed me to know him and to follow Him. I understand why now …Jesus that you want the sick to know you. Thankyou Jesus. I LOVE YOU MY JESUS.

  6. Thy sins be forgiven

    Luke 5:23-24 (KJV Strong’s)
” 23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? 24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.”

Sin is a bad deal. It destroys lives, numbs people from hearing the voice of God, and breeds deception.

Sin is no laughing matter. It brings forth death, and hell. Sin is the problem but Jesus is the answer.

We are the body of Christ. God has equipped his church.

    Acts 1:8 (KJV Strong’s)
” 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

When we are born again we receive this power. This power is amazing.

    Mark 16:17-18 (KJV Strong’s)
” 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

God gave the church another power. The power to remit sins.

    John 20:20-23 (KJV Strong’s)
” 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

    Remit means to remove, forgive

Retain means to keep there, not remit, unforgive

God gave the Church power to remit sin.

    Matthew 18:18 (KJV Strong’s)
” 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

    Matthew 6:14-15 (KJV Strong’s)
” 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

  7. NLT 10 Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” 11And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Once we accept Jesus, we are all disciples. We should be ready to teach others about God. Look for opportunities to give your testimony, and be a witness to others.

  8. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

No matter what we have done in the past if Jesus gives the word, we should go again. There is a harvest waiting.

  9. 29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

We are never too holy to be kind to people who do not have a relationship with the Lord, yet. In fact, we should seize the opportunities to spend time with them. We must take care not to put ourselves into situations we are not prepared for.

31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

We should present ourselves as an example of how to serve God and people by showing His love.

  10. 20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

What a great LOVE had those friends for their sick friend!!!! What expression of FAITH and LOVE to carry their friend and remove a roof to lower him to JESUS. WHAT WILL YOU DO FOR YOUR FRIEND??? How hard will you try to bring him to Jesus??? How many times do you invite him to church, how many no’s will you accept??? True LOVE, True FRIENDSHIP, True SACRIFICE DOES NOT GIVE UP EVER!!!
We have the perfect occasion coming WESTERN DAY!!! You won’t have to teared up a roof, we won’t even have doors. AN OPEN TENT, bring them in. IN JESUS NAME, they will not walk out the same as they walked in.

  11. 18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

It wasn’t the faith of the paralyzed man that impressed God, but it was the faith of his friends. Our faith does affect others! So we need to use our faith to help others, we cannot make another person a Christian, but we can do much through our words, actions and love to give people a chance to respond to what God has for them.

  12. God didn’t bless us with His spirit and experiences we’ve had to keep to ourselves. We need to share His word and our testimonies! Outreach is the way to win the lost.

Beating the streets and shaking the trees!

  13. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

When Jesus asks us to do something it usually always doesn’t make sense; but he doesn’t have to make sense, he is God and he knows the outcome or the answer before he even tells us to do anything. Our job is not to guess or try to figure out how or why things are the way they are. We must simply do as he says “nevertheless at thy word” that’s all we are supposed to say when asked to do something. Take him at his word and trust and believe that everything he does if for our good.

  14. Jesus enters Simon’s ship !!!! 3. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Si’-mon’s and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 4. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Si’-mon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5. And Si’-mon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8. When Si’-mon Peter saw it, he fell down at Je’-sus’ knees saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 2Sam. 6 : 9 Simon was obedient to Jesus. We need to listen more to Jesus. I love you Jesus !!!!

  15. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house and a large crowd of tax collector and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples. Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? Jesus answered them it is not the healthy who need a doctor but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

  16. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake

    Blessing in obedience…
What Simon saw that day with Jesus was not just many fish at one time… he saw a blessing in obedience that he would never forget. Sometimes God asks things out of us and we question if it makes sense… we may have even tried it before. But when God says to do something it didn’t matter if it’s already been tried we should be obedient because we just may see something we never expected.

  17. LUKE 5 Fishing was an important part of the Galilean economy, as reflected in place-names like Bethsaida (“House of Fish”) and Taricheae (“Preserved Fish Town”). The major types of fish in the Sea of Galilee would have been tilapia, carp and sardines. Much of the catch would have been dried for sale or manufactured into fish sauce and imported throughout the Mediterranean world. Fishing was thus embedded in the larger economy of the Roman Empire.
;In 1986 a fishing boat from the time of Jesus was discovered on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. Largely made of cedar and oak, the boat measured 26.5 feet (8 m) long, 7.5 feet (2.3 m) wide and 4.5 feet (1.4 m) deep. It could hold approximately one ton — either five crew members and the catch or the crew and ten passengers. The fishermen could have used a large dragnet, which might have been hundreds of feet long, or a circular casting net approximately 6.3–8.8 yards (5.7–8 m) in diameter. A hook and line might also have been employed. Galilean fishermen were most often employees or partners in small, family-run business cooperatives. Storms were a real danger in that they could come in quickly off the Mediterranean through the wind tunnel formed by the Arbel Pass.

  18. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

Simon expressed an attitude of doubt when given instructions by Jesus, yet Jesus performed the miracle regardless. Simon then expressed true repentance, and laid down his plans and followed Jesus. A true sign of red trance us when we can lay down our own agenda to become part of the bigger picture.

  19. Simon didn’t quite understand and had some doubt about what Jesus would do. Sometimes we find ourselves in the same position trying to find a way when God is right there speaking but we are fearful of the unknown and express to God that distrust. That not only hurts God but us in the long run. We must trust in the Lord and know He will never lead us wrong, in the end He will always have greater in store for us!

  20. iLove to eat the Word

The compassion of Jesus is amazing. This man that was full of leprosy came to Jesus and fell at his feet. He must have felt unworthy and he must have felt out of place (for those with leprosy were quarantined). Yet this man was desperate and many who are in desperation do not carry around the baggage of pride. Jesus did not shun the man, but he touched the man. The Power of God flowed through him and he received his miracle. These same principles exercised today would help us receive the same results…Fall at the feet of Jesus in the spirit of humility and allow him to touch us.

For us to claim that it might not be God’s will for us to receive a miracle would be prideful. Jesus never denied anyone a miracle who asked him for one.

  21. 5-10
    DONT BE AFRAID
Some are afraid to trust Jesus because they are afraid he will change their lifestyles. HE WILL. But for the better.

  22. But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer. (‭Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ NLT)

Sometimes we need to have a moment to ourselves. If you’re constantly around others working and praying, you need to take time to regain your strength.

  23. 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Paul follows Jesus’ teaching: 1 Cor 10: 33″even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.” and

1 Cor 9:19 “For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.”

We are called to follow the lead set before us to serve all, that they may be saved. It’s stated in Jesus’ great commision “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) to go into “all” the world and to preach the gospel to “all” creation. No bias, no predjudice, no racism. God wants us to reach everyone, to draw our nets down in the middle of situations you may never think of just like the fisherman. Jesus is making us fishers of men.

  24. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

God is doing it you just got to have faith. Trust he’ll go it and he’ll give you more then what you asked.

  25. Revival is in the air.

Simon was given instructions on how to get more. By falling the instructions of Jesus is brought in more then he could handle. It’s important to listen to what God is saying. He will give you the right direction at the right time. All we have to do is believe and do what his word says to do.

  26. “And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.” He was instructed to follow the process. If God (Jesus) himself told him; “but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded” then why would one think or do differently. One that truly wants the will of God will obey the word of God, and heed the man of God. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  27. brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

How far are we willing to go for a miracle or a touch of the master, or your dreams in God, or an answered prayer? Sometimes we need not to give up but get creative  I now we seek God.  We must remember what the word says:

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ KJV)

Perhaps in the quest God wants us to find what really matters more than our physical or material need, which is to find Him.  God is moved by faith.  Will we get shut down after the first obstacle you encounter or door shut, or will you see the positive in the midst of adversity.  Like the woman who was called a dog ended up impressing God with her faith and had her request answered.  God has given us all the creativity to find Him.

  28. 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

I am a sinner. We are all sinners. This is why Jesus came to earth to save us. He is the only reason why we have any hope for tomorrow. My God reigns forever and ever. He is my provider. He is my healer. He is my all my everything.

  29. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

I see two important lessons that God has given here in this scripture. The first one is that we need to trust the Lord. When he tells us to do something, we need to do it even if it doesn’t make sense to our own minds. For God doesn’t work just in the ways of the world, but his works are outside the way in which we see things.

The second lesson here is fishing for men… we need to learn from God how to fish for men, how to bring people into God’s light and see his glory so that they might be saved.

And in this scripture, God didn’t just tell them to throw in a fishing line to catch one fish at a time…. but he said to cast a net! To catch many fish at one time, for we don’t want to just get a few people to see the truth but we want everyone to see the truth.

So throw away your fishing pole and bring out your net! Expand and widen your reach so that everyone you know will hear the truth. You may see… well it didn’t work before, maybe all you need to do is wait for God to say… try again. And through you, God can reach many souls!

  30. Made Whole

24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Sickness came as a result of death by sin entering the world. We see a theme of Jesus healing sickness in the natural in His ministry, but it was more than just a random blessing. People got to see in the physical the sort of healing and wholeness He was bringing in the spiritual. He proclaimed loudly how death was under His feet before He even got to Calvary.

    Acts 2:22-24
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

25 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

  31. 12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

    Amen.

  32. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Here we are able to see that Jesus is not shaken by what we have tried in the past, he just wants to see us obey His word, and give Him the credit.

  33. Sometimes it doesn’t make since

God sometimes asks us to do seemingly crazy things to test our faith but all we have to do to pass the test is be obedient.

    1 Samuel 15:
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

Just do it didn’t come from Nike it came from the bible

  34. v 10 ” Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men .
v11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

We have this great calling, and weighty responsibility . But we have not been left powerless . We can do all things through CHRIST JESUS who strengths us., and through the power of the Spirit of GOD.
The LORD is counting on us to be fishers of men. As we moved forward by faith , following ,submitting , and obeying HIS HOLY WORD.
The closer we follow CHRIST the more beautiful and fulfilling life becomes
We will experience the supernatural .
But following JESUS at a distance often seems unpleasant and loaded with personal sacrifice . ( the i have too mentality )

  35. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

We at POFW have toiled and toiled. We have had events and done outreach. Jesus is getting ready to tell us to do some of our “same old things” but this time we will have a harvest of souls like never before.

  36. 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul.
5 And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [[a]exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But [b]on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again].
6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [[c]at the point of] breaking, (AMP)

The things that can happen if we just listen to Gods voice. We might be over working ourselves in fighting but when all God wants us to do is listen to us and he wil overflow the blessings. He can overflow your offering, your marriage, your ministry, the souls, ANYTHING if we just LISTEN!!!!!! Things never turn out right when we want to do it our way so help me Jesus be humble and do only your WILL!!! In you I trust Jesus!!!!

  37. 20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

Jesus demonstrated in both power to heal and power to forgive sin that he was the Almighty God. And yet the scribes and Pharisees refused to believe it. How can you separate supernatural healings from the supernatural forgiveness of sins? You can’t! Jesus has shown us in both word and deed that he is the mighty God!

  38. When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.”

His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus. (‭Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭8, 10-11‬ NLT)

I wonder how many people come to church service thinking that they have gone too far or sinned too much to have the attention of Jesus. Let us be Jesus’ body and speak peace to those feel this way and make them disciples of Christ.

  39. STRANGE THINGS

26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

I am speaking, praying, believing and expecting these words to come to pass in this region. “We have seen strange things today”

Leprosy, palsy, sin all of these were addressed in an instant and the scribes and pharisees were boggled at the happenings and the POWER of JESUS.

Regardless of how religious we may become, GOD has works that we know not of.
