Luke 13

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?

21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.

32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

  1. 34. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

    35. Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Don’t reject His mercy and grace when He offers to gather you under His wing; you never know when you’ve had your last chance!

  2. Come and get me!!!!!

You want to kill me??? COME GET ME!!!!!!!!
Philippians 1: 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

I WILL GET UP AGAIN, I MIGHT LOSE A BATTLE BUT THE VICTORY OF THIS WAR BELONGS TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST MY LORD AND SAVIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. This chapter begins with a decision everyone will have to make……Repent or Perish? The end of verse 5 MSG says “Unless you turn to God, you, too, will die.” The choice is yours and yours alone. If you don’t turn to God (repent), you cannot be healed (physically or spiritually) and you can’t find your way to God. Do not allow satan to tie you down or keep you in bondage as the woman Jesus healed on the Sabbath. The end of verse 16 MSG says “So why isn’t it all right for me to untie this daughter of Abraham and lead her from the stall where Satan has had her tied these eighteen years?”

Verse 24 AMP “Strive to enter by the narrow door [force yourselves through it], for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.” The MSG version says “Put your mind on your life with God. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires your total attention.” Your eternity is on the line……we have to tell the devil “Not today” as Jesus gave his response to the Pharisees to give Herod in the beginning of verse 32 MSG “Jesus said, “Tell that fox that I’ve no time for him right now.” Take a hike devil we have our Father’s business to attend to!

  4. (NLT)
31, “At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said unto him, Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.”
32, “He replied, Go tell that fox, I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal. In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day – for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem.”

It is the devil’s desire to “take us and sift us as wheat.” (St. Luke 22:31). He would like nothing better than to stop us from doing the work for the kingdom of God. However, we must press forward and keep on working. We need to tell that old fox, “NOT TODAY devil, NOT TOMORROW, and NOT THE NEXT DAY EITHER!”

  5. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, 24 “Try very hard to enter through the narrow door. I tell you, many will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 The owner of the house will get up and close the door. Then you will stand outside knocking and begging. You will say, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you. And I don’t know where you come from.’ 26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you. You taught in our streets.’ 27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you. And I don’t know where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil!’ 28 “You will sob and grind your teeth when you see those who are in God’s kingdom. You will see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets there. But you yourselves will be thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west and north and south. They will take their places at the feast in God’s kingdom. 30 Then the last will be first. And the first will be last.” NIV

What is your choice going to be today? Are you gonna choice to live for God with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength? Are you gonna live for God part time? It’s time we live for God with our whole heart don’t worry about what other people do, you have to have your own relationship with God. (For he says, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I helped you: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Cor. 6:2
So what are you waiting for make up your mind today and let’s go win SOULS!!!

  6. 1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

    Decietfulness wont get you nowhere.

When we take and change something thats not ours whoah!! Lets not mess with what God is going to do with our lives or others and try to change it, but go with the Spirit and like Pilate the went and tried to mingled the sacrifice thinking he knew whats best…only God has the authority to mingle things around. I pray that I dont force things to change by my will, but by God only.

Thankyou Jesus…for your direction and please keep me from the enemy(Pilate, men of the world).

  7. 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Entering of the strait gate is not as simple as it looks, Jesus says here strive to enter in. I am not saying the plan of salvation is complicated I am saying people are complicated and have to strive to do the right thing. We must make up our mind that we are going to do what is right.
Jesus goes on to say: Many will seek to enter and want to enter in, but shall not be able. What will cause these people to not be able to enter in? Many people want to enter in, but are not willing to obey the truth, accept the way.
There is only one way to God and any man trying to enter in another way is the same as a thief and a robber.
Stop looking for something easier and start accepting the truth. There is no other way than through Jesus Christ!!
The way to start to enter in first is repentance, all men everywhere must repent!

  8. Living on borrowed time.

The fig tree better straighten up and get busy producing fruit. The owner of the vineyeard has taken notice of it’s lack of production and has looking to clear it out. The space and resources taken up could be replaced with a better producing variety.

God is similarly watching us to see if we are producing fruit. If we are fruitless we could possibly be cursed, removed and replaced with someone who can produce results. The seat we occupy in the sanctuary is too valuable to be reserved for someone who is not Kingdom minded and just taking up space. If there is no fruit, no repentance, His patience will come to an end, and the fruitless, unrepentant individual will be cut down. We all live on borrowed time; judgment is near. That is why the prophet Isaiah wrote, “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).

  9. NLT 6 Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. 7 Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’ 8“The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. 9 If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”

Here is God (gardener) shows his patience with man. He wants to see the fruit of the Spirit within us. God will try to mold us to be just like him. But eventually a day will come when God will not hear or see you, and then leave you alone.

Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

  10. iLove to eat the Word

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

Just because bad things happen to a person, doesnt mean that person is a bad person or is chief of sinners. It rains on the just and unjust alike. The key is to stay ready for whatever might come our way. Job lost all his family in one day. We always give Job’s wife a hard time, but can you imagine a mother losing all her children all at once? Sometimes we read through the Bible and judge before we put ourselves into the shoes of those we are judging. The truth is, the majority of people today can barely suffer someone saying something negative against them.

With that being said, let’s not accuse folks just because something bad happens.

  11. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

What a mighty God we serve! Just like God did miricles then he can do them now, but you don’t have to wait till Sunday to get your miricle, claim your miricle now! Thank you Jesus for all the miricle, signs, and wonders we have seen, and all of them that are soon to come!

  12. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

We have heard the saying “just because you are in the garage, doesn’t make you a car” ………. well just because you come to a place that the presence of the Lord, doesn’t make you saved. You must make the effort to be born of water and spirit through repentance and then live an overcoming life so that daily you are “walking and living in the presence” of the Lord.

  13. THE FRUIT OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is Godly sorrow over a violation of the will and law of GOD. Repentance is much more than Godly sorrow, repentance is the turning away from such feelings, activities, actions and attitudes that violate the will and law of GOD. Repentance is filling our lives with the FRUIT of HIS Spirit and the conversion of the lost souls to HIM.

Failure to REPENT will cost more than we have to pay.

    I HEAR YA PREACHER

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

It is Harvest time and TIME to bear the FRUIT of Repentance.

  14. GET READY THE HARVEST IS COMING

29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

They are coming! We must make preparation NOW to make disciples of them.

  15. 6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it
:9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

when other people see hopeless things Jesus doesn’t. Im glad he decided to give me a chance when this world had given up on me. Just like the servant gave the tree a chance, he saw something when nobody else did. Thank you Jesus…

  16. Then Jesus went through the towns and villages teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him. Lord are only a few people going to be saved. He said to them make every effort to enter though the narrow door because many I tell you will try to enter and will not be able to.

  17. 11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
You know you make have to wait eighteen years for your miracle but God will do what you want him to do according to your faith. Don’t get discouraged hang in there Gods Got a plan!

  18. 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Hallelujah just because many say Lord doesn’t mean that the Lord knows who they are. There is more to thinking you know God and actually knowing who God is. It’s like us if I hear somebody say my name doesn’t mean I know them….to get to know somebody you need to have a relationship with them. Just like the Lord we get to know him by reading His Word and prayer!

  19. “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ (‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭24-25‬ NLT)

This is not a season to be lazy, we all must work hard and work together. We have one goal in mind, one vision from our pastor that should fuel us. We must reach this city, we must impact all the lives around us.

  20. 29 And people will come from all over the world—from east and west, north and south—to take their places in the Kingdom of God.
30 And note this: Some who seem least important now will be the greatest then, and some who are the greatest now will be least important then.” (NLT)

The harvest is coming! There are souls hungry and searching, it’s our job to find them and lead them to Christ that they may be saved and rise up to be the individual God has called them to be!

  21. Don’t kill the messenger.

    Luke 13:34
” O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it!”

Do not kill or slander the messenger of God. In our case that includes the pastor, the preacher, and sometimes strangers and other saints.

Take heed to exhortation with humility. Don’t reject it with pride.

Everyone in some way our fashion is better than us at at least one thing. In that we can learn from them.

  22. We could be “sinners above all the Galilaeans” (vs2) or “sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem” (vs 4) it doesn’t matter the ammount of sin we get stuck in. Their simply is no unit of measurement for sin.

However, their is the cup of wrath mentioned in Job 21:20, Isa 51:17, Rev 14:10. Jesus calls sinners to repentance for a day is coming when He will wed a bride (the church) who is without spot or blemish from sin. In Revelation 2:21 Jesus says “I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. … I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to turn away from her immorality.” and to the church of Laodicea he says in Rev 3 “19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” He will correct us, bring judgment/ wrath to grab our attention ‘knock at our door’ to repent. When we overcome, we are made by Him victorious.

  23. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Repentance is not an option. It is a death, and a confession of fault. Repentance, true repentance takes humility. Pride shuts the mouth of repentance.

  24. “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” The Master (Jesus) was telling all, too repent. “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!” Regardless of the circumstance, disobedience was to blame. One must mindful and pray that one never allows self to become a stumbling block for self, or another. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  25. 35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

  26. Fig tree 6. He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? 8. And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9. And if it bear fruit, well; and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS !!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!!

  27. v 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent , ye shall all likewise perish.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slack mess; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, buy that all should come to repentance .
    2 Peter 3:9

  28. 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Such a strong word. So many people think that they are doing the work of Jesus and they aren’t. Here it is, in the bible in black(red) and white.
As Bro Smith says, they get to go, but they don’t get to stay…

  29. 8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

If you feel like life just stinks it could be that you are in the dunging process and God is seeing if you’re going to grow or not. Hang in there through the stink and God will bless you.

  30. In a heap of “mess”
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. (‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭6-9‬ KJV)
This tells me that if you are in a time of your life where you are not producing well, or at all, you can have an opportunity to have fruit again. You may go through some uncomfortable things. Things around you may seem to be uproot or pulled out from under you because The Lord us digging up around your foundation. Then you will sit in “mess” for a while to see if the extra nutrients will cause you to grow quickly. It’s probably going to stink in that position for a while, but then the new surrounding will help you gain fruit. Lastly, time will tell. If the fruit comes, we keep the tree. If not, boom you’re gone!

  31. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

I believe this is a parable for us in our lives as well. As children of God, when he plants us in the ground, we need to not only grow, but we also need to bare fruit. And that fruit is reaching people. We need to tell people about the kingdom of God and his saving grace, so that they too might see the light and also be saved.

  32. 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

We must daily examine ourselves & repent. Find where our weak areas are & be determined to grow there. If the righteous are scarcely saved, what’s going to happen to the sinners? After we’ve discovered where we are lacking, be determined to show fruit in this area so that we can overcome and hear him say “Well done my good and faithful servant!”

  33. 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you , will seek to enter in , and shall not be able .

  34. The mercy of God

No, I tell you! But unless you repent, you will all perish as well! (‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭3‬ NET)

Not at all! But you can be sure that if you don’t turn back to God, every one of you will also die. (‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬ CEV)

A warning to all. How many will actually hear what The Lord is saying to his children.

It is time to turn away from playing with fire that will eternally burn you in hell. So many have become so numb to the word of God, thinking that there is so much time to play with sin.

Time is not held in our hands, but in the mighty hand of a MERCIFUL LIVING GOD.
The word if The Lord is alive and well, it speaks to our city, to our nation, to the world. Will you hear JESUS calling you by name, will you be sensitive enough to feel His Holy Spirit drawing you to him? Or have you already settled it in your mind ” it’s my way of living ” ” I do and go as I please,”
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬ KJV)

What more can we ask for? Don’t reject His mercy, His love, His calling. Yes, it is a choice that we all make. I pray that you choose wisely.
Where do you want to spend eternity?

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ KJV)

  35. 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

This verse be dunks the “once saved always saved” doctrine. There is such a thing as almost saved. Repentance is such an important part of the salvation process. Praying without cease is crucial to ensure that you are always tuned to the Creator.

  36. 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Wow, Notice the command given, strive… Salvation is no game to play with. According to Webster’s dictionary strive means to devote serious effort or energy, to struggle in opposition. Many will be the things that the devil will try and throw at us. Many will be the choices that we have to make in regards to our own salvation. There is only One way in. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. We must be careful that with all diligence we treasure this great gift of salvation. Attitude of repentance and forgiving heart, let no thing rob you of such great salvation but with trembling and fear guard it.

  37. Ordinary

18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

The religious of Jesus’ day condemned Him for healing on the sabbath, as if His miracles we something ordinary and insignificant. Indeed, the reality of the Kingdom can be hidden away in the small details of everyday life and seem insignificant until brought into the scope of the big picture. Kingdom Living today can seem mundane compared to the “high action” version of the gospels we find in condensed form in the Bible, but it’s in the little details that the Kingdom comes alive and is expanded on this earth through us. That prayer time? Bible devotion? Personal evangelism? Serving at church as usual? It may feel small at that moment but it really is huge at the end of the day. The mustard seed is only small if you look at the beginning, but if you look at the fruit, you realize how big it is.

    Luke 16:10
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
