Luke 16

1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

  1. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

The rich man asked for Abraham to send Lazarus to go and testify to his five brethren, where they would not go to the place he was. There is no special treatment for anyone they have Moses and the Prophets that they can hear. Nothing will replace the Word of God, if we are saved it will be that we obey the Word of God.
The rich man thought if one arose from the dead and came and testified to his brethren it might change him. One did rise from the dead Jesus Christ and still many or better yet most people still do not obey him.
We must hear the word of God!!!

  2. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

The Word of God stands sure. It is his word and his alone that can save. I enjoy telling others what great things the Lord has done for me. How he has changed me and rearranged me. But it is not my testimony that changes people, it is the Word of God.

Today I pray a blessing over the nation of Israel!

  3. Vs 31/

    Oops! GOT AWAY FROM Jesus.

    31/ was it too late??
The sinner didnt make it. He died and relized there was no turning back. Press in and dont give up for the Lord. This is what we all should of this world. This is a command from the Lord. IF ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW READ:
The whole book of Isaiah. This will explain God indirectly and matterfactly.
    Bless you,Lord.

  4. G15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Thankful that God knows me when no one else does. Not only does He know me but even after knowing He still loves me. He even leads me and shapes me to become more like Him. We all need more of Him and less of ourselves.

  5. Who will like to serve mammon when our LORD is such a LOVING GOD!!!!!!

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

The intimacy of HIS PRESENCE, the touch of HIS GLORY, the caresses of HIS MERCY!!!! There is no GOD like my GOD!!!! HE LOVES ME!! HE DOES LOVE ME AND HE LOVES YOU TOO!! What He has to offer you is greater than what this world has. Come experience HIS LOVE and you will serve no other!!!!!!

  6. GOD PROMOTES FAITHFULNESS

GOD is the WISE steward. Before HE will entrust great riches to us he will FIRST test us with small things. Small things like honoring our commitments, standing for our words, being on time, supporting what we believe in financially. Praying for others continually, serving behind the scenes before we lead the multitudes.

When the LORD returns for HIS Church he is looking for FAITH and the method that we display our FAITH is through our FAITHFULNESS to HIM, HIS Promises and HIS Kingdom.

  7. 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

God sees everything! Be careful what you do, when you think nobody sees you, for our God knows all.

  8. Worth to be blessed.

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

Do we take care of others things? Do we take care of our own? If you knew that the person on the side of the road really need that help. Would you help them? Being good stewards of the things of this life brings great blessings. I have seen this with my own eyes and have been a par taker of them too. When we are found faithful over the small things God will reward us with more.

  9. 13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
It is very important for us saints of God not to serve God and still want to be apart of ungodly things, because eventually you will start feeding the flesh because it feels good to fulfill fleshly desires to a carnal mind. If you have one leg in the church and one leg in the world your not I’m pretty sure your nit willing to live for God with all your heart. My God is a jealous God and if you put anything before my God He can take it away from you doesn’t matter what it is.

  10. “And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” They were deceived, as they sought the approval of people over the approval of God (Jesus). “And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” Hardness of heart and deafness cost him, one that hears and obeys the word of God and the man of God is wise, as self-righteousness may cost one greatly. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  11. Luke 16:10 (New Living Translation – NLT)
“10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”

What we do with the small things is God’s indication of what we will do in the larger things.

Western day set the bar and now we have the opportunity to reap the harvest. Many people came and now we have the opportunity to form relationships and bring people to a closer relationship with the Lord.

As we take good care of the things God is giving us now he will bless us with even greater things in the future.

We tell God how we will handle it by our actions today.

  12. Verse 15 MSG “So Jesus spoke to them: “You are masters at making yourselves look good in front of others, but God knows what’s behind the appearance.” Same verse NLT “Then he said to them, “You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God.” Same verse CEV “But Jesus told them: You are always making yourselves look good, but God sees what is in your heart. The things that most people think are important are worthless as far as God is concerned.” God knows your heart.

  13. iLove to eat the Word.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

    Amen

  14. vss.22 &23. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abram’s bosom: the rich man also died,and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in toents, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lararus in his bosom.

We serve a just GOD, and HE will reward both righteousness and unrighteousness according .

    Paul. reminds us in
2 Corinthaians 11:15 that their” end shall be according to their works”

There’s. coming a day when all works shall e laid bare, proper judgment will come

  15. In this scripture, you can see how the children of the world had made better investments than the children of light. But, God is trying to say is to make those investments in both, because you might profit from it. This is using wisdom, and it is another way or method that can be used by God to be a witness to the children of this world. Its a way to have connections, and to possibly be an influence to pull them into the light as well. You, could not only profit financially but also prosper the Kingdom of God, with new souls.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
    ________________________________________________________________
But, in this next verse you are warned not to fall into the trapping of Idolatry, or becoming a slave to mammon. God wants you to serve him, not mammon. And he is a very jealous God. No other Gods before thee. I wonder which commandment that one is! One that counts………………It all adds up!….HaHa………………….

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
    _______________________________________________________________
This is why it is so important to be faithful in tithing and giving, because it guards your heart from becoming trapped either by mammon or having greed grip your heart to make you captive. Be a giving junkie, just like a drug addict and guess what Jesus is our supplier. He’s my pusher, he shoves me sometimes too. “For Real”……So, give Church and don’t worry about how it returns to you or if it don’t. Be expectant but don’t be overly concerned of the amount of return. Because, God’s math doesn’t add up like ours. His tends to have a 100, 60, or even more than we could ask or think. But, it is always better to give than to receive. Please never forget to bless those who are less fortunate financially than you are, and bless the people of Israel. Pray for them, and help when you can. God is LOVE, and he will never put more on you than you can handle.

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

  16. Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

If one’s pocketbook is not at God’s disposal, one’s heart is probably not surrendered to God, either.

  17. 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Faithfulness is important to God. The only thing is that it is only proven and tried with time. Stay committed, keep on sowing, keep on giving, keep on reaching, keep on preaching, keep on being faithful in that which The Lord has put you at this time. The Lord will bless accordingly.

  18. “But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’” (‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭31‬ NLT)

True. Hear right now. Don’t wait. Save yourself.

  19. 13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

When God is your master, that means whenever you do something in your life, you look to God for answers and direction. For if you look to material things, or people to keep you on the right path, you will be lead astray. But God will never leave you astray, so lean on him in the good times and the bad.

Micah 4:2 And many nations shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord and to the house of the God of Jacob and he will teach us his ways and we will walk in his paths, for the law shall go forth of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem

  20. 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Too many people are trying to make themselves look like something they are not in the Kingdom. We must all do what God has called us to do. We are all fitly joined together, each one, doing their part. No need to squeeze anyone out of what they do best at. If each one does their part, with fervency and zeal, then God’s kingdom will all operate and fulfill it’s purpose here on earth as God desires it to. It’s when we get caught up in pride, selfishness, and “it’s all about me” mentality that the Kingdom of God suffers, as does the ministries we are involved in.

  21. 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

FAITH IS EVERYTHING!!!!! Even in the worst moments we have to stand on our faith and just let God do what He has to do. Even if we might not understand right then and there everything happens for the honor and glory of God. Like last week our car broke down and the result of that we were able to invite the seller that helped us to Western Day and he took his family and now his daughter is going to get baptized 🙂 we stood firm on our faith in being carless and believed in God and now I rejoice for that 🙂 PRAISE GOD!!! GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

  22. He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. (‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭10‬ KJV)

This verse always makes me think of the blog.

  23. He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. (‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭10, 27-28‬ KJV)

Everybody wants to save their families.

  24. Our Measure

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

We all have opportunity to give to others, to invest in lives around us. We must not overlook the value in this and fall into the trap of being stingy with investing into others. Just as Jesus spoke the parable of a master who gave out talents for his servants to invest, Jesus places in our hand the ability to invest in others that there might be the return He desires to see. We can’t horde all we have, expecting God to bless tight-fisted, self-focused living. When we empty ourselves in giving, we open ourselves to receive the increase as Jesus, Lord of the harvest, sees fit to give.

    Proverbs 11:25
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

  25. Was it Samuel?

26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us. ’
    (Luke 16:26 NASBStr)

15 Then Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” And Saul answered, “I am greatly distressed; for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has departed from me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or by dreams; therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I should do.”
    (1 Samuel 28:15 NASBStr)

19 Moreover the Lord will also give over Israel along with you into the hands of the Philistines, therefore tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. Indeed the Lord will give over the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines!”
    (1 Samuel 28:19 NASBStr)

This is a much debated topic of the OT. Did Samuel actually respond to the medium, was she playing a trick on Saul, or was it a familiar spirit (demon)?

Luke 16 suggests that none may cross over from Abraham’s bosom, and 1 Sam 28:19 says that Saul will be with “Samuel” after tomorrow. Saul surely was not going to the same place the prophet was, so some believe that it is actually a demon.

  26. 13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Mammon, the God of material wealth and greed. One thing Bishop Foster gave notice of on Tuesdays leadership meeting was the enemies attack on the material things. Thinking that this or that is ours, when we take ownership of what we have, we arm the enemy to use it against us. Everything we have is by the grace of God alone. From our children to our jobs or businesses the foods we eat to the air we breathe. So let us not fall to the notion that “my hard work got me this, or my effort did this, or my ambition drove me” All glory be to Jesus, who sustains, provides, maintains, and gives abundantly.

  27. Servant !! 13. No servantcan serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mam’-mon. I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!!
