Romans 3

1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:

16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:

17 And the way of peace have they not known:

18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

  1. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭24‬ NLT)

    In verse 27 it’s says we all are sinners and we fall short of his standards.

    No matter how many times we mess up and fall back to our wicked ways and then come back and look at him hoping he gives us redemption… He does cause he loved us so much to see the same purity of the day when we were baptized. He sees us and our “Potential” and what we could become and what we will be. He paid the price so we wouldn’t have to. He loves us.

    So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭28‬ NLT)

    We messed believe. So we can be right with God. Just have faith in him and his salvation. He has a plan for us we may not see it now but fight the good fight.

  2. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past (NLT)

    God sacrificed himself for us to be liberated from sin. Because God loves us so much he died for us on the cross and revealed to us how big his love is towards us. When he died he had each and everyone of us in his mind and never once in his mind to abandon us. Jesus dying in the cross is the perfect example on the great love that we should have for one another. As a human its easy to see others flaws and judge but who are we to judge? For we have to see others how God sees us with his great love and compassion. Help me love how you love Jesus!!!!

  3. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭29-31‬ KJV)

  4. 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
    The bible says our righteousness is as filthy rags. At our best we are simply glorified mud balls! But God I his infinite mercy loves us and forgives us for our shortcomings and helps us to do better. Thank God for his mercy!

  5. As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one. (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ NLT)

    No one is perfect, we all fall short and stumble but we can’t allow this to be an excuse for us to go freely sin.

  6. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

    Many people want to do away with the laws given in the old testament because we not live under grace. But those laws and principles were to help us live overcoming lives and walk as good christians in the ways of truth. God did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. Likewise we must not cast it aside, but apply it to our lives so that we might live move and breath in him.

  7. 5-8
    Here is the argument in punishing sin God shows himself righteous ther fore sinners contribute to Gods glory. So should thry be penalized for doing something that actually benefits God. Paul rejects this saying GOD FORBID.

  8. Romans 3:26 ESV “It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
    I am thankful that we have a just God. I personally wouldn’t want any partiality towards myself even if it meant death. I am not worthy of His faithfulness yet He is faithful regardless! Hallelujah!

  9. MORE

    31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

    Society and the social church world seems to place great burden on this subject. While many contend that Grace and Faith is all that is required for salvation. Paul in this passage deal directly with the subject.

    The erroneous belief that we can live our lives any way we want and still hold the promise of salvation is strong and prevalent in our society as it must have been in Pauls. As has been presented to many believers is the myth that you can live a life of sin and still be “saved”.

    While Paul contends in this chapter that no one is perfect, there is means to live a life of Faith Hope and Love through the Law of GOD. We need not discard the Law of GOD to exercise our FAITH in GOD. We can and MUST operate our FAITH within the LAW of GOD.

    Keep the LAW and add MORE through FAITH.

    27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

    There has always and will always be a pride issue with mankind (until Jesus returns). Each Noah had 3 sons and after the flood those sons went to separate parts of the world and their descendants make up the population as it is today. Each son’s descendants has had their chance to rule the world. Each nationality has assumed that they are a superior force.

    With God, it’s not about anything other than faith and all the principles that accompany faith. By faith we receive the Holy Ghost.

  11. I praise God for He died for all JEWS, GENTILES ALIKE!!!! Jesus drop each drop of His Holy Blood for each one of us. With out differentiation of race, color, religion, or believes. It is time for us to see that if He is willing to give it all for all of us. We as a whole should love each other without looking at the race, color, religion, or believes. Love, guide, teach the Truth that JESUS CHRIST IS GOD ALMIGHTY. ONE GOD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM!!!!! IN JESUS NAME AMEN.

  12. The doubter

    3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God
    without effect?

    Pastor addressed this at the end of service last night, very briefly. Some people are not receiving their miracle or answer from God because they still have a small amount of doubt in their hearts. Is God is really going to do it or not? It is not that they believe that God is not able but they are struggling with the fact that he would do it for someone unworthy. I believe the answer is that if God has ever done a miracle it was done to someone unworthy.

    Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God

    If God can do it for anyone he can do it for me. The blood of Jesus Christ has made every miracle and blessing of God available to all believers. So the question is always going to be, do you really believe?

  13. 7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

    8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

    9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

    10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

    There is no truth in “the end justifies the means.”

    God wants us to live with integrity, honesty, and character everyday. If we think that doing u righteous things is ok as long as it will bring to pass a righteous goal we are deceived.

    We are in the process of raising money for the church building. It will never be acceptable to rob the bank to get the money needed for the venture.

    The same we cannot lie, cheat, and steal to cause the kingdom to grow. We will be judged by our actions both good and bad.

    Our sends will find us out.

    We cannot sin to bring more grace, and more righteousness.

    Like fruit produces like fruit.

  14. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
    Dont accuse before the time..
    I pray that I wont stay away from people who break the law of God…but to be an example of love through the inside of a person and then it will shine through the outer person. And they will see God. Please forgive me Lord im not any better than anyone else just because I know God and they dont. We are all equal in God’s eyes.

  15. 9, “What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin:”
    10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
    23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
    24, “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
    25, “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

    No one is righteous. No matter who we are, we all have sinned. We all need a Saviour. Thank You JESUS for becoming the Saviour for the whole world.

    1 John 2:2, “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
    1 John 4:10, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

  16. 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    God knows that we are not perfect, he knows that we will fall and we will get distracted but one thing he is faithful in is providing a way out. A way out of the mess we make a way out of the darkness a way out of whatever it is we have gotten oursleves into. I thank God that he is my waymaker and when i fall on my face in front of he he makes the way for me to get back up. It was never stated in the Bible that we would never fall, in fact it says the opposite but he is faithful to his word and his promise

  17. 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

    Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that digilently seek him.

  18. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    The human need and the divine provision are alike applied universally.
    Man can exceed his own standards but never, left to himself, can he attain to God’s standard of righteousness.

    Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up until the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

  19. 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
    23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    There is no difference between all people. All have sinned. And we all can be forgiven. We live in a devided society. If you say we don’t. Look around. Parents killing children. Children killing parents. The coexist movement says we shouldn’t stand for what bible says is wrong. The church must take a stand for truth. And we must all understand that all have sinned. We are no better than anyone else. We are all equal in Gods eyes. This is why his mercy and grace is so important. Without it. Where would we be.

  20. 3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

    Just because some don’t believe, it does not make what God has set into motion void. There will be unbelievers, the word of God speaks on this. For us that truly believe what God has done and what he is going to do, we can move forward.

  21. 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

    We are not under the law but under grace. This does not make outlaws but understand we just set course to a new Kingdom His Kingdom and His law.

  22. 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    Yet even Christ when he was being questioned, answer:
    ” He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”
    Who is without sin but Christ. We have all come short because we can not work ourselves to heaven or pay our way with good deeds.
    Grace: the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not because of anything we have done to earn it, the condescension or benevolence shown by God toward the human race, a spontaneous gift from God to man — “generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved”.
    According to the law, the woman in John 8 was condemned to be stoned to death, but she had a divine appointment with the Master.
    MORE GRACE!!!!

  23. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. Paul explains it all so well, as they all needed the saving blood of Jesus (God). The same is true today regardless of what ones lineage is, we all need Jesus. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  24. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law

    The law that has been established from God has a place here in our lives today. It is because of the law that we have faith. The law gives us the hope that we need to continue. The law says that the only way to get rid of sin is blood. People many look at this and say that we have a blood thirsty God, but this is where our faith is established! The blood of Jesus is the blood that was shed to fulfill the law so we no longer have to kill sacrifices all the time. The blood of Jesus washes away all the sins that we could ever do. Faith is established under the law because if there wasn’t reason for the shedding of blood, we would have no faith to stand on to say, “His name is greater and his blood is more powerful!” As it is, we have the faith to stand in adversary, in peace, in sickness, in health, in times of want, in times of aboundance, in times of sorrow, and in times of joy, “His name is greater, and His blood is more powerful!” It’s all because of the law.

  25. The law shows us sin. It doesn’t justify us

    Romans 3:20
    because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

    The law gives us the knowledge of sin. This knowledge allows us to repent and be justified through faith in Christ.

    It is our responsibility to show the world their sin and that Jesus is the answer.

    “I would sooner bring one sinner to Jesus than unravel all the mysteries of the Word, for salvation is the thing we are to live for.” Charels Spurgeon

  26. 7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

    MORE ABOUNDED!!!

    We shall all face judgement.

    31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

    I cannot begin to tell of the number of times that I have heard about being saved by grace, and not by works. I have also heard repeatedly that we are under grace and not the law, but here we see differently. We see here that if we have faith we WILL establish the law.

  27. Romans 3:25-26 God publicly displayed him at his death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. This was also to demonstrate his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness.

    Faithfulness is one of God’s mayne awesome qualities. What if the sun wasn’t there in the morning? Can we imagine someone more faithful than that? The Lord wants that we all come to repentance, turn away from our bad sinful ways and come to Him and have a unique intimate relationship with him. It’s because of the faithfulness of our Lord Jesus that we can be saved. Getting washed by the waters of baptism, in His name, and receiving His Spirit. And then… What do we offer a faithful God? We are justified by faith but there is one more thing any one in any relationship wants, aside from trust and belief… Faithfulness. Will we be committed to our Lord. Will we forsake the things of the world and sin, will we love him enough to obey, will we make this relationship the most important of our lives and loves. More faithfulness will give us more relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus

  28. In this scripture, there are so many things to be said!

    Old Testament = Law = Conviction New Testament = Repentance = Salvation.

    But, having faith in both cases is essential, and the most important thing is being justified by your faith in Christ Jesus and his precious BLOOD. We all have sinned, and fallen short. THANK GOD, for his tremendous love & grace, and most of all the power of the BLOOD of his Son Jesus Christ, that cleanses us all, of all our sins.

    20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

    21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

    22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

    23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    “Keep the Faith”………………………………………………………………………………….

  29. Judgement comes from God . It takes great faith from a sinner for God to forgive. God seeks those genuine hearts that believe in him. Lord strengthen me and help me to seek more of you.

  30. Verse 31 MSG “But by shifting our focus from what we do to what God does, don’t we cancel out all our careful keeping of the rules and ways God commanded? Not at all. What happens, in fact, is that by putting that entire way of life in its proper place, we confirm it.” Same verse NLT “Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.” Its all about the shifting…..It’s not about us; but, about Him!

  31. New Living Translation
    God Remains Faithful
    3 Then what’s the advantage of being a Jew? Is there any value in the ceremony of circumcision? 2 Yes, there are great benefits! First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God.[a]

    3 True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? 4 Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him,

    “You will be proved right in what you say,
    and you will win your case in court.”[b]

    All People Are Sinners
    9 Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles,[c] are under the power of sin. 10 As the Scriptures say,

    “No one is righteous—
    not even one.
    11 No one is truly wise;
    no one is seeking God.
    12 All have turned away;
    all have become useless.
    No one does good,
    not a single one.”[d]
    13 “Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave.
    Their tongues are filled with lies.”
    “Snake venom drips from their lips.”[e]
    14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”[f]
    15 “They rush to commit murder.
    16 Destruction and misery always follow them.
    17 They don’t know where to find peace.”[g]
    18 “They have no fear of God at all.”[h]
    19 Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. 20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

    22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

    23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

    Amplified AMP
    24 [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
    25 Whom God put forward [[c]before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.
    26 It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time ([d]in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus.
    27 Then what becomes of [our] pride and [our] boasting? It is excluded (banished, ruled out entirely). On what principle? [On the principle] of doing good deeds? No, but on the principle of faith.
    28 For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law). [The observance of the Law has nothing to do with justification.]
    29 Or is God merely [the God] of Jews? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,
    30 Since it is one and the same God Who will justify the circumcised by faith [[e]which germinated from Abraham] and the uncircumcised through their [newly acquired] faith. [For it is the same trusting faith in both cases, a firmly relying faith in Jesus Christ].
    31 Do we then by [this] faith make the Law of no effect, overthrow it or make it a dead letter? Certainly not! On the contrary, we confirm and establish and uphold the Law.

    I love you Jesus. Thank you for always being faithful.

  32. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23-24‬ NLT)

    So thankful for Calvery. I don’t know where I’ll be without The Blood of Jesus.
