2 Corinthians 12

1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

13 For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.

14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?

18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?

19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

  1. Same people…same spirit.

I was just thinking about what this means. In vs 18 is very clear. Debating where to go to church…but I like pofw because we all have the same spirit. I love Jesus, and I love the Holiness of Him which is the Holy Ghost living in us. I fear him with godly fear which I give Him all the glory.

This Holy Ghost(Jesus) convicts, cleans up, delivers us from bondages, loves people, ect.

    God (Jesus) is love.

  2. Growth through my trials!

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭7-10‬ KJV)

It may seem as this is never going to end. Waiting for prayers to be answered, and waiting, waiting, and waiting! But i can truly say that through it all, I’ve leaned more on Christ then ever before. Yes, His Grace has been sufficient for me. Through this ” thorn in the flesh” we all have learned to trust more, depend more, lean more, pray more, grow more, and fast more. And I rejoice in knowing that no matter what the weapon is…..at the end of it all, WE WIN!!!
When the enemy thinks he has the upper hand, devil think again, for you have forgotten The GOD that I serve!!!

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. (‭Genesis‬ ‭50‬:‭20‬ NLT)
    Pain brings me growth.
    Tears allow me to rejoice.
    Weakness gives me Strength!!!
    Thank you JESUS!!!!

  3. 9. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

If it requires infirmities and thorns in the flesh for the power of Christ to rest upon us, then they are well worth it!

  4. Verses 8-10 CEV “Three times I begged the Lord to make this suffering go away. But he replied, “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So if Christ keeps giving me his power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am. Yes, I am glad to be weak or insulted or mistreated or to have troubles and sufferings, if it is for Christ. Because when I am weak, I am strong.”

Same verses AMP “Three times I called upon the Lord and besought [Him] about this and begged that it might depart from me; But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and [b]show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may [c]pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [[d]in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful [e]in divine strength).”

This reminds me of the song that I believe just about everyone has heard:

Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
    Little ones to Him belong;
they are weak but He is strong.

    Yes, Jesus loves me!
    Yes, Jesus loves me!
    Yes, Jesus loves me!
    The Bible tells me so

    More Understanding About the Thorn
In my opinion, this “Thorn in the Flesh” scripture is one of the most misunderstood and misquoted scriptures in the entire Bible. Most will use this verse as an escape route to be robbed of their miracles. “Well, I have to put up with this sickness because this is the thorn in my flesh.”

Let’s look at this verse in the New Living Translation. “I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.”

First, why was Paul given the thorn in the flesh?
Because of his great revelations. He had claimed to have gone to heaven and seen great things that no one could speak about.

For folks to claim Paul’s Thorn, then they are saying they have been where he has been.

    Second, what was the Thorn?
The Word says it was a “Messenger from Satan.”

Who was this Messenger from Satan?
Note the parallel between the thorn and those things it caused. The reproaches refer to the Jewish ministers of Satan saying things like, “his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible” (2 Cor.10:10), as previously explained. The necessities and persecutions quite clearly refer to the constant waves of persecutions he received by the Jews which the book of Acts describe. This would fit the language of “buffeting” – implying physical discomfort that he experienced periodically. The infirmities would refer to the ill health which his persecutions by the Jews no doubt resulted in – being beaten until he appeared dead (Acts 14:19) must have done permanent damage, as would receiving “forty stripes save one” five times and thrice being “beaten with rods” because of the Jews (2 Cor.11:24-25). Thus the passage probably refers to an organized program of persecution of Paul by the Jews which began after the vision of 2 Corinthians 12:1-4, from which time he dates his experience of the thorn in the flesh. It was from this time that Paul’s zealous preaching to the Gentiles no doubt stimulated the Jews to more violent opposition to him. Their complaint against him was often that he was adulterating the Jewish religion by allowing Gentiles the chance of salvation by what he preached.

Can we claim that our sickness is a thorn in the flesh?
    No.

We can only lay claim to a thorn in the flesh when we have received the revelations that Paul received and God then allows us to be beaten to a bloody pulp countless times and allows people to withstand us on a continual basis. Until that happens, this so called thorn in the flesh is robbing us of our miracles.

  6. 19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
Hallelujah! Everything for the edifying of our selfs! A lot of people might think or say the bible is not for me or it’s to hard to understand but everything that is in the bible is for our own good! Not only tells us to be better but also shows us how to become better!
Tells us NOT to have any……
    Debates-strife, contention
Envyings-an envious and contentious rivalry, jealousy
Wrath-passion, angry, heat, anger forthwith boiling up and soon subsiding again
Strife-Paul exhorts to be one in the mind of Christ not putting self forwardor being selfish
    Backbitings-evil speaking, defamation
    Whispering-secret slandering
Swellings-a puffing up of soul, loftiness, pride
Tumults-instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion
I love studying the Word because you can see so much MORE than when you just read. Help me Jesus stay away from all these things because they do not please you. I live to worship you Jesus and will always trust in you! I want MORE and MORE of you Jesus!

  7. When I am Weak, HE IS STRONG!!!!!!!!!

There is a song that I hope they still sing in Sunday School. This song was my son’s favorite. It was also Tyra’s and Juniors favorite. Every time I feel like this world and it’s circumstances get out of control, I sing it to remind me of who HE IS and who’s I am.

    My God is so great

My God is so great, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do.
My God is so great, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do.

The mountains are his, the rivers are his, the stars are His handiwork, too.
My God is so great, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do, for you!

MAY WE NEVER FORGET HOW BIG IS OUR GOD AND THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN NOT DO FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. MORE STRENGTH

Spiritual Deception is most prevalent when we are in control of our lives and the circumstances and situations around us. We feel strong in our flesh when we are in control. Hence the reason it is the greatest struggle of Christianity, (Trusting JESUS).

The Apostle sought 3 times for a particular situation to be removed or taken away from his life and the responded, “My GRACE (Favor) is sufficient”. Revelation of purpose then came to Paul, when I am weak HE is strong or when I am in control JESUS is weak and when I am weak, JESUS is in control.

The apostle is teaching us to “Enjoy the JOURNEY and TRUST JESUS even when we don’t understand. In fact we are instructed to “glory” and “take pleasure” when we are not in control.

The KEY to MORE STRENGTH (JESUS) is less control by me.

    iRepent

  9. 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? NIV

Be careful who you are hanging around with. Pray for them but don’t do the things they do. If you have been delivered from a certain thing why hang around with the ones that still do the same sin as you use to do. We become the company we keep. I remember when i lived at home I worked with this girl and i would go out to eat with her and hang out with her and my mom, kept telling me she is a bad influence and you become the company you keep. Needless to say my mom was right, people began to look at me different and then I noticed i was picking up her bad habits. How can we be a witness if we hang with the wrong crowd. We don’t need our good works to be evil spoken of. This verse reminds me of the song the kids use to sing:
be careful little eyes what you see
be careful little eyes what you see
for the father up above is looking down in
tender love so be careful little eyes what you see
be careful little feet where you go
be careful little feet where you go
for the father up above is looking down in
tender love so be careful little feet where you go
We need to be careful what we are doing, wearing, watching you never know who is following you and watching you. And just one little word can turn them around. God help us to be a shining light for you today!

  10. More Glory

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
9 And He has said to me, and His declaration still stands, My grace is enough for you, for power is moment by moment coming to its full energy and complete operation in the sphere of weakness. Therefore, most gladly will I the rather boast in my weaknesses in order that the power of the Christ [like the Shekinah Glory in the Holy of Holies of the Tent of Meeting] may take up its residence in me [working within me and giving me help]. 10 Wherefore I am well content in weaknesses, in insults, in necessities, in persecutions, and in circumstances under which I am subject to extreme pressure on behalf of Christ, for when I am weak, then I am filled with ability and power.

Paul had the right perspective when it came to trouble. He had revelation that the challenges he faced were not to destroy him but to position him for God to do great things.

He could look at adversity and confidently go through it because he understood what the trials were for.

    2 Corinthians 4:17 (KJV Strong’s)
    17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Glory is more valuable than comfort. Glory is splendor, brightness, majesty. It is God’s favorable opinion of man. Paul understood the value of glory.

    Romans 8:18 (KJV Strong’s)
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

  11. Perfection, NOT!

I know these versus all too well. I have thorns in my flesh; figuratively and literally. Not too long ago I was building a wooden fence. I impaled myself numerous times with splinters that were buried too deep to extract myself. No need to go to the doctor, they will rise to the surface soon and I can then dig them out. Two of them are still there. They still hurt and remind me they are still there when I attempt to use my hand/fingers in a certain way.

God does the same thing to us. He gives us limitations for a reason. Sometimes, sicknesses and physical ailments and limitations are there for our own good. Some boys and men in our church may find it hard to be a Godly man if they were taller, thinner, more muscular, etc… Some women may have the same difficulty if they were “perfect”.

I have learned to be thankful for Godly thorns. He created me. He created the thorns and decided which ones best suit me.

  12. MORE Weakness!

10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (NLT)

More Weakness? The word states to take pleasure in weakness! For when we are weak HE is strong!

  13. (MSG) 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
“Because of those extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,
My grace is enough, it’s all you need.
My Strength comes into its own in your weakness.
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size – abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.”

These scriptures made me think of the scriptures that say, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly; according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3 and “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” Galatians 6:3

Thank God that He Loves us enought to Humble us, so that, we don’t get a big head and think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think. (For He knows when we start to get this way, and He knows how to “Burst our Bubble.”) Thank God for the thorn in our flesh, so that, we learn to Lean on and Trust in Him. Thank God that His GRACE is sufficent for us.

    MORE Grace!!

  14. 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (NLT)

God, Your grace is sufficient for me! We must always remember who is really in control of situations we may face, because in the midst of it, to us it seems like chaos, torment, and total weakness on our behalf. But we must know that God, as Bro. Randol preached Sunday, already has an end in sight. So don’t worry, but be happy and know that whatever you are going through is all for the glory of God and He will surely see you through!

  15. 19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

I keep thinking about these Corinthians and the grief they are giving Paul. And it is the wolves coming into this flock that are trying to sever Paul from this congregation, so that they can advance with a false doctrine, being false apostles. His trials and conversation of pleading with them make me think of how important it is for us to pray for our Pastor & Sis Watts. They need a hedge of protection prayed around them daily and we need to help hold up his hands so that POFW has victory. Back biting, blaming, murmuring, etc against our Leadership invites the enemy to become bolder in the attack against us and them. Eph 4:25 & 27 Wherefore put away lying, speak every man the truth with his neighbor; for we are members one of another. Neither give place to the devil- don’t give him a foothold! We need unity and be united against the powers of darkness that desire to steal, kill & destroy.

  16. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

What would I do without grace.. What would any of us do, thank you Jesus fervour saving grace.

  17. 3-4 That was my reason for writing a letter instead of coming—so I wouldn’t have to spend a miserable time disappointing the very friends I had looked forward to cheering me up. I was convinced at the time I wrote it that what was best for me was also best for you. As it turned out, there was pain enough just in writing that letter, more tears than ink on the parchment. But I didn’t write it to cause pain; I wrote it so you would know how much I care—oh, more than care—love you!

Correction for the man of God to the saints of God is never easy. It pains them as much to correct as it does the one receiving correction. God is expressing His love to us when correction is given.

  18. 20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

  19. 19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
God puts certain people in our lives to help shape us and cleanse out the crud we build up and hold on to. These people love us so they want to help us; don’t reject their love!!!!

  20. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong
Paul shows in these two verses that he found a way to be thankful and give God praise in spite of his circumstances. He actually decided he would rather rejoice in his situation instead of complain about it. That is the attitude God wants us to have about our trials and tribulations. To rejoice in tribulation!

  21. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

In all of our weaknesses God is there for us, when we feel like we can’t do it, that’s God shows up and strengthens us when we need it. For as Jesus said himself, he would strength the weak and he would bring up the meek, for when we give our weaknesses to God, he makes them into our strengths.

  22. God strength is made perfect in our weakness, and in this the power of Christ will rest upon us……………..for when we aren’t strong enough he is, and then we are strengthened “made strong”.

    _______________________________________________________________
Want to know the true signs of an apostle, “It’s Written”…………………………

12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

  23. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Just a simple thought.. God strength is made perfect if my weakness. That is the amazing thing about our Lord. However, what happenes when I want to make myself strong…I want to do it on my own strength.? We might just be robbing ourselves out of a blessing and limiting God’s power. Simply put, working a lot harder for less. It is JESUS that gets the glory. I rather be weak that he can be strong and mighty and do for me that which I will not be able to do alone. Thank you Lord

  24. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9-10‬ NLT)

Lord don’t allow me to be boastful or prideful, because You deserve all the glory in everything I do. God I thank You for being my strength, because I don’t know where I would be without You in my life at all. Thank You God!

  25. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Thank God for his grace. Where would I be if not for his grace caring me in every season. He came to my rescue when I needed him. He is my all. My everything.

  26. 9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

I am reminded of John 3: 30 “He must become greater; I must become less.” Whenever we become consumed with His Spirit we become the creation He desires us to be. Before we ever recieve this gift we must surrender and repent; in doing so we expose our weakness ‘making ourselves less’ and inviting His Spirit to become ‘more’.

Jesus accepted insults, beatings, and ultimately death; he also said that if any one wanted to follow him that they would need to take up their cross. The cross is a symbol of shame and death, Jesus’ disciples would have to battle hardships, dying away to selfish and flesh-like desires. We must seperate ourselves from things that cause spiritual death. This submission and humility may seem weak to the world, but it’s the strongest possition for the church to be because that is where the power of Jesus dwells.

  27. v9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We are all human and realize our weaknesses daily.
Thanks be to GOD for HIS MERCY and GRACE in helping us through our difficulties.

    MORE GRACE

  28. “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.” Paul the man of God (Jesus) gave of himself, and gave of himself yet it was not enough for some. The true man of God is chosen by God, and ALL others are self-chosen. As such it stands to reason that if one wrongs, treats poorly, disrespects, or disobeys; the true man of God than one is actually doing so too the one that chose him, which is the Judge (Jesus). What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. Yes, I am afraid that when I come again, God will humble me in your presence. And I will be grieved because many of you have not given up your old sins. You have not repented of your impurity, sexual immorality, and eagerness for lustful pleasure. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭21‬ NLT)

We must give up our old sin. When we have been born again of the water and Spirit we are a NEW creature. Our old past is pasted away and we are made new. We should no longer walk in the flesh but posses the Fruit of The Spirit.

  30. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

God is my strength because when I am weak I am strong. God is so powerful, he gives us the gift of undeserved grace is all we need. His power is strongest when we are weak. Thank you Lord for mercy and grace.

  31. More Discipleship

14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

Reading this verse makes me think of the opportunity we have as a church the impact the lives of new believers in caring for them and helping them in their journey of discipleship. We should purpose to “lay up” for the new children of the Kindgom, to be ready to minister whenever opportunity arises. In giving in prayer, time, attention, Bible studies, fellowship, etc, we invest into the next generation of believers to become everything God has called them to be.

    Isaiah 50:4
The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

  32. The paradox of strength

2Cor. 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Humility allows God to boast. A humble person is the way God receives glory. Proud men take glory for themselves. When we are weak, we are aware of our limitations. God’s interaction proves himself to us. Therefore, he receives glory. It is in this state of mind that we are strong, for our strength is not from our own ability but is in Christ alone. We see that Christ is present to the humble in spirit.

  33. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Lord I pray your grace and mercy will be upon me! Let you name be lifted on high! 🙂

  34. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

This verse was a Word from God at a very low point in my life. Anytime were all I can think of was my infirmities persecutions necessities and distresses. I always thoughtless of myself as weak in the spirit, all of my life I have been just a survivor. Not knowing that just surviving was taking you straight to hell. I think God today that are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus who saved me from the grip of sin.
I have learned to trade my sorrow for joy.

  35. 2 Corinthians 12:9 and he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmaries, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmaries, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ sake: for when I am week, then am I strong.

In my life every time and every situation that I have found myself in struggles and sicknesses and distress, I have always tried to fix it on my own with my own knowledge, strength and money. All of these things have failed me in the past but the one thing that has not is his grace! Because when I felt that there is no hope, no more money, and nothing else that can be done His grace has heeled, redeemed and restored me because He is the only God that can multiply when there is nothing left and He is glorified and makes me strong.

  36. And my grace is sufficient !!!! 9. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor. 11 : 30 10. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. Rom. 5 : 3 Thank you for grace Jesus !!!! Thank you for strength !!!!

  37. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

More strength comes when we rely more on God.
