Colossians 3

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

  1. We have been changed, we are a new creation in Christ Jesus, and we must let the word of Christ Jesus, dwell in us richly in all wisdom. We are called to minister to one another, in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord.

    10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

    16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

    “So Sing Church”…………………………………………………………………………………

  2. 25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

    Well…well….right from wrong.

    I pray that I will know that if I do something wrong in the sight of God, I will be corrected. Most of the time I am corrected. Jesus stands by us and watches us so I have to remember to do right and treat people right too.

    I thankyou that I can go to the high priest JESUS, and repent and start again. I love the Lord because He gives me second chances. Thankyou Lord..forgiving me.

    Do right and live= eternal life with Jesus.
    Do wrong no repentance, =eternal death.

  3. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    Where we set our affection has all to do with our life today, if we are living life for the moment or for the future life. We must hid our life in Jesus Christ and mortify the deeds of the flesh and no longer live a life of selfishness.
    If our goal is to appear with God in life eternal we must learn to give God all our life.

  4. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ NLT)

    My mind in not on the things and the report pleasures this world has to offer me. My mindset is joking my Lord and savior in paradise where he has special place for me. Take this world.

    You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ NLT)

    No longer a Slave to this world. No longer!…

  5. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

    Our thoughts, speech and actions show the world who our god truly is. That is why everything should line up with the Word of God. As Paul said, “do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

  6. Verses 1-2 MSG “So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.” Same verses in AMP “If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.” Keep your mind on Jesus……no more playing church….keep your eyes on the goal…..Lord give me your eyes.

    Verses 12-14 MSG “So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.” Ladies will understand this one…..its like that little black dress that is a must in every woman’s closet; but, even better. 1 Corinthians 13:3-7 MSG says:

    “If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

    Love never gives up.
    Love cares more for others than for self.
    Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
    Love doesn’t strut,
    Doesn’t have a swelled head,
    Doesn’t force itself on others,
    Isn’t always “me first,”
    Doesn’t fly off the handle,
    Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
    Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
    Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
    Puts up with anything,
    Trusts God always,
    Always looks for the best,
    Never looks back,
    But keeps going to the end.

  7. 1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

    2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    Once we are risen with Christ, we can’t look back to what he lifted us out of; there is nothing worth going back to!

    2 Peter 2:20-22
    20. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

    21. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it , to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

    22. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. KJV

    (NLT) 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

    Forgiveness in Love binds us together in perfect harmony. This is the attitude of true humility. We have to make allowance for each others faults. That means we have to have a system in place. A system that has an open account with much forgiveness in it.

  9. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

    The uniform of the elect of God is not just the physical garments we put on. Anyone can dress the part but it’s our spiritual dress coupled with the physical that truly shows who we are.

  10. 8-10 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

    Paul is expecting us to learn from our experiences. Through knowledge after the image of him that created him we should know better than to keep/continue in bad behavior: “fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry – anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.”

    Through the knowledge of these things being sin we should implore wisdom to remove these hindrances and/or temptations from our lives. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

  11. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

    Let all that we do be for His glory. Let us reflect His holy image that others would be drawn to Him by His spirit in us.

  12. 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men

    This scripture comes to me almost daily. This scripture, if applied right, can change your life. I know it is simple but the context is profound…

    Today I will get ready for work with all my heart as unto the Lord. I will blog this blog with all my heart as unto the Lord. I will build cabinets today and work with all my heart as unto the Lord. All my conversations today will be as unto the Lord. I will come home and love my family with all my heart as unto the Lord. Tonight we will go to the church for leadership training unto the Lord.

    Even the small things in life can be done as unto the Lord and bring glory to him. I pray that everything I do or say today will be well pleasing to God.
    Amen

  13. So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

    Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12-17‬ MSG)

    As Apostolic Christians we are not like the world in any area of our lives. We don’t look the same. Nor should we conduct ourselves the same. When the world sees us, they know we are different, we are set apart. According to the scripture it takes more than just looking the part but acting the part. To be full of mercy, kindness, humility,  strength, discipline, even tempered and peace but most of all wearing the garment of love.
    Peace of God keeps us in tune with each other. And when we adding love we have Perfect Harmony.
    Peace + Love = Harmony(440)

  14. MORE THAN JUST BELIEVE

    12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

    Two mainstays of the Christian FAITH are 1. Forgiveness and 2. Integrity. I have witnessed these 2 traits destroy friendships, businesses, families, marriages and even churches. Integrity affects forgiveness and forgiveness affects integrity. If HONESTY is practiced, then forgiveness is most often not needed. If forgiveness is granted then integrity is revealed.

    Paul in his address here in chapter 3 gives the believer some valuable insight into a lasting relationship with JESUS. Everything hinges on our attitude and servitude. My attitude is what empowers me to live for GOD in peace, HIS WORD empowers me to lead my own life in HIS favor and everything I do calling on the name of JESUS for HIS approval and presence.

    Merciful not Judgemental, Kindness not Hateful, Humility not Pride, Meekness not Arrogant, Longsuffering not Shortfused, Forbearing not Demanding, Forgiving not Grudging, Love not Hate, Peace not Turmoil, Thankful not Complaining. We all have choices to make everyday and if we will slow and take time to make choices based on these principals we will no doubt “Impact Lives to Change the World” for JESUS our LORD.

  15. Colossians 3:12 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
    12 Put on therefore as your spiritual apparel, as chosen-out ones of God, saints and beloved ones, a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, considerateness, longsuffering,

    Colossians 3:12 (Amplified Bible – AMP)
    12 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

    Put on is a command. The amplified says clothe yourselves. This is a deliberate action. It will not come naturally. It is against our human, carnal desire and flesh.

    When we are taken advantage of we want to lash out. The word says to be humble and take it. When people do wrong to us we want to tell them off. The word says to be patient, and kind and approach it with prayer.

    We cannot change the way other people act, but we have much control how we handle the situation. God knows the depth of a situation and is more than able to fix it where both parties come out headed toward eternity with the Lord.

    The word says in our patience we possess our souls. It is better to be quiet, kind, forgiving, and gentle in rough situations than to lash out against the offending party.

    Lord help me to be clothed with a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, considerateness, and longsuffering so that your will and purpose can be accomplished no matter how rough the situation is.

  16. 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
    Paul mentions this principal more than once in this chapter and it should be apart of our everyday conduct. We should have the proper spirit and attitude when working regardless if it’s in the church or at our secular job. Our attitude and spirit should be focused on being the best Christian example we can be by our work ethic and attitude

  17. 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

    2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    At baptism, we are resurrected into a new life. All things from our past have been covered by the blood of Jesus and we are given a clean fresh start spiritually. When we are filled with His spirit, we are given power and authority to walk in that new life. Setting our affection and keeping them on heavenly things, kingdom minded things, will assist us in walking a holy, separated life, pleasing to the Lord. It is when we become distracted with things of this earth that we lose power and authority spiritually because we not seeking the Kingdom of God first!!

  18. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    Matt 6:32″For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33″But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34″So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

    If we put Jesus 1st and llive a holy and seperated life we have nothing to worry about. Jesus knows are need and when we rely on Him to fulfill our needs we apply that faith in Him to our lives. Jesus take the wheel.

  19. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

    Do all things well. If a king would ask you to do something that went with the Bible , we would probably do it. Well the King of kings has said whatever we do in word or deed. Do it as doing it for God.

  20. Vs 17: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God….. .
    Now that we are risen with Christ, we live in him, and everything we do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. And the Lord will be our reward! Amen!

  21. 10, “Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.” (NLT)
    10, “You are living a brand new kind of life that is continually learning MORE and MORE of what is right, and trying constantly to be MORE and MORE like Christ who created this new life within you.” (TLB)

    Our new life in Christ helps us to learn MORE and MORE of what is right and helps us to try constantly to be MORE and MORE like Him.

    14, “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” (NLT)
    14, “Most of all, let love guide your life, for then the whole church will stay together in perfect harmony.” (TLB)

    It’s the Love of God living inside of us and the Love that we have for one another that keeps us bound together in Unity. MORE Love!

  22. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. (NLT)

    Simple. Doesn’t matter what you look like, what you’ve done, or who you are. It’s all about Jesus Christ and HIs mission!

    Which can be accomplished with love.

    14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

  23. v15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

    Thank you JESUS for changing our lives dramatically. We have been renewed in the spirit of our minds.
    It’s a brand new life through repentance of sins, water baptism in JESUS NSME filled with HIS SPIRIT.

    MORE NEW LIFE
    MORE HOLY GHOST

  24. The Holy Bible God’s instruction book… He puts everything in order, it is when we get out of the order that our Lord has established that we have conflicts.

    8 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
    19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
    20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
    21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
    22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
    23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

    And whatsoever ye do…. ANYTHING, ALL OF IT, IF IS CLEAN THE TOILET YOU DO IT AS CHRIST HIMSELF WERE GOING TO USE. I know it sound kind of funny but that was what I was told. ALWAYS DO 100% no half job, if we keep in mind that our Lord is watching or receiving with gladness everything we do, we will be working harder and taking pride in what work we do. Let EVERYTHING WE DO BE A PRAISE UNTO HIM WHO IS HOLY JESUS CHRIST.

  25. This is a somewhat lengthy article for the blog, but I feel it is important that everyone understands the meaning of the right hand of God in Colossians 1. This is especially important when ignorance is used to quote his verse as a source for trinitarian validation.

    “The hand was symbolic in the ancient world. It was believed that from it one either bestowed grace or pronounced punishment. In addition, the hand represented the authority of an individual, the instrument of carrying out a person’s intentions. The right hand, in particular, was special for two reasons. First, the left hand was universally acknowledged to be the one used for sanitation purposes and, therefore, was less respected than its counterpart. Secondly, since most people were right- handed, the right hand was considered to have innately superior strength and capability.

    Because of its special physical status, the right hand was assigned important metaphorical significance, frequently expressing blessing, fellowship or comfort. Certain acts of ritual cleansing, as well as the ordination of the Aaronic priesthood, involved the right hand or the right- hand side. The right hand was also used in taking vows in judicial matters, since it was believed to represent the character, will and actions of the individual taking the vow. In literature, it personified a king or deity’s character and deeds, while in the Hebrew Bible the right hand represented God’s ultimate strength and provision for his people.
    To be seated at the right hand of a ruler or host meant occupying a place of high honor. The position itself was considered an indicator of the power and authority of the one holding it. Someone who sat at the king’s right hand was, as in the modern English idiom, his “right- hand man,” — the one acting as the principal agent of the king’s authority, through whom he carried out his most important work. In addition, sitting at the right hand was a statement of fellowship and favor between the central figure and the individual so honored. Jesus Christ is depicted several times in the Bible as sitting at the right hand of God the Father for eternity (Ps 110:1; Ac 2:33–35; 5:31; Ro 8:34; Eph 1:20; Col 3:1; Heb 1:3, 13; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2; 1Pe 3:22)” (Hebrews 1:1 ArchSB)

    We know that “God the Father” as trinitarians put it is the Spirit of Jesus. Jehovah robed HIMSELF in flesh in the person, Jesus Christ. Therefore, we know that the power of the Almighty rests in Christ Jesus and that Jesus is the image of the invisible God.

  26. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    Affection means: a gentle feeling of fondness or liking. All of our likes and feelings start in our mind. When we set our minds on something, we are willing to sacrifice anything, change whatever we need to change, do whatever we need to. We will usually eat, sleep and breath whatever it is that we have set our minds to, and nothing will stop us from obtaining that goal. This is the same action we need to take for Him and his Kingdom. We must put our minds and every ounce of focus, and energy on Him and His Kingdom. We must be willing to go beyond any sacrifice and eat, breath, and sleep God! When we set our minds on God, and seek to please Him, and His will, everything else on this earth comes second and will get provided for.

    Matthew 6:33 But seek yet first his Kingdom, and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

  27. Colossians 3: 9-10
    Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
    verse 10
    And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

    in this chapter we can see how Paul also teaches the people of Colosse about the fruits of the Spirit same as he did to the Ephesians.
    Just as God keeps talking to us now days, he reminds us over and over to leave behind the old us, the old habits and replace them with good deeds, with rightness and love.

  28. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

    13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

    14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness

    If these things aren’t evident in our lives then we should be wise and check ourselves

  29. 18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

    19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
    reading these verses made me think of what I have been studying? Do you have a Nabal or Albigail marriage?
    Curious now?
    As long as God in your marriage and you are putting him first things will work out. Are all marriages perfect absolutely not, we are all still human. Wives support your spouse in his ministry and help him and husband support your wife in her ministry…..marriage that prays together stays together!

  30. 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

    2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    We need to seek God, not the things of this world! Lord help me to keep my eyes on you instead of material things!!

  31. It is important that we are aware of what we are doing. If we are going to do something it needs to be done in the name of Jesus. So, we must make sure that we are doing the right thing because the wrong thing cannot be done in the name of Jesus.

  32. PUT ON…….

    Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12-14‬ KJV)

    As being chosen of GOD ALMIGHTY, being filled with the Holy Ghost, these shall follow! If mercy, kindness,humbleness…etc. are not evident then it shows that the Holy Ghost, The Gospel, and faith is lacking in your life.

  33. 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

    24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

    25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

    Many people see their service to others as just that. Yet, how much greater our lives could be and how much more could we accomplish if we did everything as a servant of the King.

    I Serve At The Pleasure of The President (oath)

    what every good employee recites…
    in the morning upon awakening and during bedtime prayers before slumbering
    before making a life-changing decision
    And during questioning

    I Serve at the pleasure of the King of Kings!

  34. “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” One should be thankful for the grace of God (Jesus), and strive to be in alignment with God. Dear God, help me to see myself as you do; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  35. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12-15‬ NLT)

    God chose each one of us for a reason but I know He wanted all of us to be created
    In His image so let us become more Christ like and examine ourselves and what we have been doing and ask God to continue to mold and shape up the way He wants us, let’s examine our walk with God and don’t just ask from God, but let’s give back to God. Let’s examine our relationships with our family, friends and our church and see if we are being friendly, loving, caring etc.

    We need to examine our whole life and put more God in our lives and in everything we do. God deserves better, how much more can we give or do for God and for Him to work through us to reach others.

  36. 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

    24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

    In our daily walks with God, we gotta remember to ask ourselves, are doing this for God or for men or for ourselves? For when we do things for ourselves, we do not receive a reward from God for it. But when we do something for God, we gain favor from him and he rewards us for it. And also remember to do it with a smile on your face, if you’re not gonna be happy doing it, then don’t. Re-examine yourself and your attitude to make you are doing God’s work gladly and with joy. For there isn’t a greater privilege for us then to do God’s work!

  37. More Peace

    14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

    15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

    We may not always like our circumstances or what others around us are doing, but that doesn’t mean we have to approach things with an attitude of strife. When we pursue peace with God and others, we find love provides the means of a whole, complete bond with others. We may not be perfect but God works through so we can pursue perfection in every part of our lives, including our relationships with others.

    Romans 12:18
    If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

  38. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    Everything in this life will pass away. This earth will be no more, but God’s kingdom is eternal. What will I invest my life in? You want to have to best life insurance plan, then living for God will give some great ROI. It’s better to seek an eternity with God in heaven than the gathering of temporal pleasures of this earth. We need to put away all sin, and unrighteousness and seek God’s will. Something that you put your affection on is something that you value and pursue.

  39. More sbmission.
    As we submit ourselves to our leaders it allows God’s love to flow into us. As wives we are to submit, but our husbands are to love us the way christ loved the church. It helps you leader to see you walking together when you submit. (It makes husbands want to love their wives more like Chrusg lived the church and layer down his life for it when there is less arguing.

  40. 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
    We are all the same in Christ. He loves us all equally and judges us all equally. This is because there is freedom in the Lord from our bonds. We are no longer captive!!

  41. Thing above !!!! 1. IF ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Rom. 6 : 5 2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. I AM VICTORIOUS !!!! JESUS I LOVE YOU !!!! BECAUSE YOU CARE !!!!

  42. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    We are but strangers in this land. Pilgrims pass thru, being in this world but a set apart people for the honor and glory of God. This is why Salomon proclaimed every thing to be vanity under the sun, because life is but a grain of sand in the beach of eternity.

  43. 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

    2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

    We must live our lives for the future as our elder stated above. But too many times we live our lives for the here & now, and what was once dead, gets resurrected… but it’s old habits that are resurrected. The Word of God renews our minds and reminds us that this world is not our home, reminds us to live pleasing to God and not pleasing to ourselves.

  44. Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom though psalms, hymns,and songs from the spirit singing to the God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do whether in word or deemed do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God the Father through him.

  45. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
    17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

    I was thinking how these 2 scriptures fit together and how we as humans can give a lot of our time and effort to a lot of things but think what we could do if we all set our affection on things above and seek first the kingdom of God
