1 Thessalonians 5

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

16 Rejoice evermore.

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19 Quench not the Spirit.

20 Despise not prophesyings.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

25 Brethren, pray for us.

26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

  1. The beginning of this chapter spoke to me about being ready and being a light of life to this world. No I am not perfect, none of us are; but, the coming of the Lord is so close, that we must be like the end of verse 8 MSG says “Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.” There are so many who still need to discover and see that hope…..we may be the ones that the Lord uses to show them that hope. As part of the following verses 9-11 MSG say “….So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind…..”.

Verses 12-13 MSG “And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love!” This reminds me of what we did last night at On The Border. Thank you Lord for all the willing souls/leaders you have placed in my life.

  2. 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Pastors ….pastor’s wife, ministers….of the truth of Jesus Christ….

I esteem and highly extol these people because they teach the gospel of peace into my life. I respect their teaching of the truth ( being filled with the Holy Ghost, with evidence of speaking in tongues, and being baptized in Jesus Name).

I was at the altar praying and getting my spirit new and I was thinking bout pastor Watts and sis Watts and I started praying for them. My soul cried for them…in Jesus Name.
I know that sis bernal and pastor bernal pastor me, but so does pofw with the blogs…thankyou JESUS.

I extol and praise the pastors and ministers teachers evangelist..why? Because they worship the same Jesue I worship. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭1-2‬ KJV)

So true, we see the times and the seasons that we are currently living in. The coming of The Lord commeth quickly, there will be no excuses as we stand before GOD. There should be a great reverence for Him and His word. Stop living as you want and live a life according to His word.
Leave your simple ways behind, and begin to live; learn to use good judgment.” (‭Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ NLT)
There is a saying that I’ve heard many times growing up. “I’m going to live life my way,” quickly that makes me want to walk away from people like that. My prayer is that I live a life in obedience to the word of God.

  4. 1. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

    2. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

    3. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

    4. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

We are not in darkness, with our heads in the sand; it’s obvious that ‘that day’ is close at hand by what we hear and see going on not only around the world but even in our own cities. We don’t know the day or hour, but it must be soon, and we must be ready!

People get ready Jesus is coming
    Soon we’ll be going home
People get ready Jesus is coming
To take from the world His own
    -Crystal Lewis

  5. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Pain works differently on most people. However, most people respond the same to continued expose to pain and/or painful things. If a person works with their hands and is constantly repeating the same process over and over again the body will respond by producing calluses to prevent the pain from reaching the nerves. Playing the bass or guitar causes pain on the pads of one’s fingers where the string is pressed against the fret board. After continued exposure to playing the fingers develop these calluses to prevent the pain. So, what does one when exposed to pain that continues to move, increase and decrease with intensity?

Obviously, I have not given birth. I have witnessed two births though. The first was a long drawn out experience that took over 24 hours to complete. As young parents we were both so excited about the new born child and the life that we will have together. We had talked about pain management, breathing techniques, etc… However, after the first 12 hours we lost focus on the pain management and breathing techniques. My focus became the comfort of my wife and the wellbeing of my unborn daughter. My wife’s focus became the pain; not the end goal, just the pain.

If we find ourselves unprepared for the returning of our Lord we might find ourselves in travail as a woman giving birth with no escape. How do we prevent this fate?

    16 Rejoice evermore.
    17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
    19 Quench not the Spirit.
    20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

    The Will of God
Most of us today, when asked if we wanted to be in the will of God, would say “yes”. The following is the written will of God. 14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.19

    *warn the lazy
    *encourage the timid
    *care for the weak
    *be patient with everyone
    *be good to all people
    *always be joyful
    *Never stop praying
    *be thankful in all circumstances

This is the will of God for us today!

  7. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Rock a bye world in the universe. When the Lord comes you will be asleep. Down will come judgement, you’ll see. And eternal life, it will flee.

This is what the enemy is doing. Rocking the world to sleep. This is why the 440 is so important. It’s a jump start to wake people up. We must be carful ourselves that we don’t fall into the trap of the enemy and get lazy and fall asleep. What good is a guard if he falls asleep? He would get fired. Let us not get complacent with where we’re at. The time for action is now.

    More life
    More opportunity
    More revival.

  8. Paul reminds the church that no one knows when the Lord is coming back. So every body must remain ready and alert and awake focusing together on living Gods Word.

  9. MORE INSTRUCTIONS

LIFE in its simplest form is filled with dos and donts. We are taught from infants to follow instructions and given list of what to do and what not to do, resulting in a positive productive life.

Nearly every product purchased includes in the price of the product a LIST of INSTRUCTIONS, often in several languages. In these instructions some of the actions are repeated numerous times to offer clarity or express importance.

We witness here in Chapter 5 another list of MORE INSTRUCTIONS. There is nothing new, profound or revelatory in the list. However it is repeated either by command or example throughout the WORD of GOD.

Likewise in the local church body, instructions and challenges are repeated over and over and over yet again. GOD is faithful and we should be also.

  10. I Thess. 5:18 In everything give thanks: for this is tge will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

In every event or circumstance(thing) the Christian is to give thanks to God for the good He can bring out of the event, even should the event be unpleasant. The constant attitude of prayer, mentioned in verse 17, will help the believer to maintain gratitude in the face of adversity.

  11. 1 Thessalonians 5:22
Abstain from every form of evil.

Matt. 5:8 ¶ “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Paul instructs us to avoid every form of evil. Evil can easily be described as anything that is not of God. What we watch, hear, say, and do, if it promotes anything other than God, may be considered evil. If we keep our hearts pure, we will see God. Carnality cannot glory in his presence. (1 Cor 1:29)

  12. Thief in the night

    1 Thessalonians 5:2 (KJV Strong’s)
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

A jewish wedding ceremony consisted as 12 steps.

    1. The selection of the bride
    2. The bride price that was established
    3. The bride and Groom were betrothed to one another
    4. A written document was drawn up containing the promises of the groom and the rights of the bride
    5. The bride must give her consent.
    6. Gifts were given to the bride and a cup of covenant was shared between the bride and groom
    7. The bride had a mikvah (water immersion) which is a ritual cleansing
    8. The bridegroom departed, going back to his father’s house to prepare the bridal chamber
    9. The bride was consecrated and set apart for a period of time
    10. The bridegroom would return with a shout, “Behold the bridegroom comes: and the sound of the shofar would be blown
    11. The bridegroom would abduct his bride, usually in the middle of the night
    12. Finally there would be the marriage supper of the guests that had been invited by the grooms Father.

If the bridegroom came at night they would say he came for his bride like a thief in the night. No warning was given just the promise of his coming.

Jesus will come like a thief in the night. The night time is a time of darkness, and temptation. It’s hard to see at night. And the creepy things all come out at night.

Jesus said when he returns will he find faith on the earth. We must be prepared at all times knowing his coming will take place when we think not. However for the bride that is ready and remains pure his coming will be timely and with rejoicing.

  13. I said it once and I will say it again. There are no excuses not to be saved. God is so good that He left us the PERFECT BOOK OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUR LIVES. He even breaks it down to step by step to be followed. The signs are here, the days are few and short in between, HIS RETURN SHOULD NOT FIND US UNPREPARED. FOR WE ARE HIS CHILDREN AND WE HEAR OUR HEAVENLY FATHER’S VOICE.

  14. For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭2‬ NLT)

We all as saved disciples need to constanly be doing our best so when the time comes we don’t fall short and we may be claimed by JESUS when he comes.

But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ NLT)

I want to be kingdom minded in the army of God. We are blessed and loved by Jesus. We are chosen to live in the life and to have life through him.

  15. 16 Rejoice evermore.

God is speaking to us to become spiritually overflowing with Him. “MORE” of Him. When our Spirit is full, and we have the Word hidden in our heart, we will become like a magnet, people will be drawn, not to us, but the Spirit within us. They will see a light, a difference, a God that many of them do not know. This Christian walk was meant to be more than just us receiving His Spirit and being baptized preparing us for eternal life. That is just the beginning. He has called us to be soul winners, reaching the lost at any cost. We must take our eyes off of the wealth of this world, and worldy possessions and place our eyes upon the Kingdom and Kingdom responsibilities.

We must allow His Spirit to flow through us at all times being the witness of the Living God.

  16. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

We are living in the end times, now is not the time to sleep and live in darkness. Now is the time to seek MORE of God!! Lord wake me up to be aware of the things going on around me, that I may not seek darkness, but that I seek to be a light to others! I want MORE of you God!

  17. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

We have opritunities in our lives to succeed and to fail. If we take these 2 scriptures and use them we can succeed more than we fail. Prove everything….
    -Study to show thyself approved…
Hold on to the good and throw the rest out.
Abstain from the appearance of evil taking even the attitude or perseption of a situation in mind before you commit yourself to it.
If I’m not around drinking I won’t be tempted to do it myself.
Knowing that a certain part of town is trouble, stay away from it.
These are two simple answers to many of life’s obsticles.

  18. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

This reminds me of when Jesus was praying at Gethsemane in Mark 14: 37And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour? 38″Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” This is no time to fall asleep, back down, sit down, stand down. We have to be on constant gaurd of the wiles of the enemy.

  19. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others;but let us watch and be sober.
This tells me that I must not let anyone or anything get in between God and myself no matter what the cost. My eternal life depends on what I do from this day forward. No take backs or excuse will do on judgement day. We get this one chance to do it right. Tomorrow is not promised.

  20. MSG of 1 Thess. 5:12-13
And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love!
Get along among yourselves, each of you doing your part.

Just want to give a big “THANK YOU” to Pastor & Sis. Watts, the ministers, the leaders, and my brothers and sisters in Christ who work so hard laboring for the kingdom of God. THANK YOU for your dedication and committment. I Love and Appreciate you all so very much. You are always in my prayers.

  21. 16 Always be joyful.
    17 Never stop praying.
18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT)

Amen! Nothing had the power to hinder your joy, or your life of prayer. Always be greatful and joyful for the Lord has been so good!

  22. Even from the appearance of evil, to abstain and be separate. Let’s be sanctified by God’s peace, and wholly, and blameless in Jesus name, Amen.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

“We aren’t doing it, God will do it!”…………………………………………..

  23. 16 Rejoice evermore.

Powerful words of truth for how we should live our lives every single day

  24. 12 We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 15 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
This is like the shortened version of how to live for Christ! When we walk in the love of Christ, this is how our lives should look.

  25. Sleep !!!! 1. BUT of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. Matt. 24 : 3 2. Rom. 13 : 12 5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. PRAIE HIM PRAISEHIM JESUS OUR BLESSED REDEEMER !!!! PRAISE HIM FOREVER MORE !!!!

  26. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

God has given all of his children who have received him a special gift, and that gift is we are the light of the world. We are the light that represents the true light to guide people of the darkness. The scripture tells us when we are given and receive the Holy spirit, that we are a light to this world, and this is a light we can not keep to ourselves for this light is for other people.

We need to let the light of God shine through us so that others may see the true light in this dark world. To see where salvation truly comes from. What are we if we keep our light hidden while others around us suffer in darkness? Use your light to help guide others down the right path towards Jesus.

Luke 8:16 No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand so that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. Take care then how you hear for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.

  27. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

We are the children of the day, children of light not darkness, we should always be ready for the Lord to move in our lives through that light.
We sleep when night comes and arise during the day to work and do the will of God. Let us work in soberness and with righteousness, with the time God has left us.

  28. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil

Everyday we walk in God. He died for us! Rejoice! Even in bad times your not alone he is with you! Holding on to the good is the bible and him, that’s why we need a continual pray everday! God is alive, so rejoice and pray to him with goodness in your heart and no evil!!! 🙂

  29. 16 Rejoice evermore.

    17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

For all those wondering what Gods will for your life is:
    Rejoice always
    Pray all the time
And never stop thanking God for EVERYTHING!

    Nice and simple!

  30. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

    16 Rejoice evermore.

    17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

As we work in the kingdom it is our job and duty not only to be vigilant and take care of ourselves but also to be vigilant and look out for others. To me that is the meaning of true outreach when you look out for the needs of others. Not only do you render love, and support to them, but you also give instruction to there lives. Which is the hope and freedom that God can give. Outreach will not only compel us to pray for others and ourselves, but it will bring us and others closer to God and His Kingdom, and for that I rejoice. MORE FOUR40! 🙂

  31. 17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Hallelujah!!! In the good and bad times pray without ceasing!!! Nothing better than praying and letting God do his thing!! Like Pastor has preached just PRAISE YOUR WAY OUT no matter the circumstance be thankful for everything!!! God knows our needs and prayers and if we don’t have something yet its because its not His will or not our time yet…God has perfect timing for everything we just have to be patient!! IN YOU I TRUST JESUS!!!!

  32. 1 Thessalonians 5: 17
    Pray without ceasing.

    The power of prayer
    Amos 7:1-6
Talks about how Amos prayer change the judgement day for Israel.
Amos PRAYED for his people with compassion and honesty. Twice he interceded and twice God withdrew His Judgment. Amos stepped in between the people and God, and negotiate their survival.

    PRAYER CHANGES THINGS
as leaders sometimes we have no idea how powerful our prayer can be, how we can spare others by what we do in our prayer Closet

  33. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

We must be watchful. The enemy takes joy in catching us off guard. We must be ready for whatever he throws at us. God will give us the power to go against him, but we must abide in his word daily. We have the power to defeat the enemy.

  34. Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other. Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭12-22‬ NLT)

We have leaders on the church for a reason and we have ministers and a pastor for all good reasons. So we listen to our leaders and they follow our pastor and he follows God.

We also help one another! We don’t want to get lazy and fall backwards or even stay complacent…..God was never lazy, He kept going and kept strong in His relationship with God continuously…so why should we be any different? Are we better then God??? NO! So we should keep things strong with God and the works for Him.

But we also need to help our brothers and sisters keep strong in God and encourage them, pray for them…we need to be unified! We don’t want to be selfish and keep the same people we want to add more and help show them to the truth! Don’t leave any soul behind, reach out to them! We need to bring our friends, family co-workers..etc.

    Be strong in God
Connect and help our brothers and sisters
Reach the lost, no soul left behind

  35. 1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

Now: we that have been born again must stand in the gap and pray for others. Today I was cleaning my dads home while he was visiting his wife in the hospital, and as I was cleaning in his room, I felt led to kneel at his side of the bed and pray for his salvation. I pray that the Lord remove the scales from off his eyes so that he can receive the truth-opening his heart and mind. We can make a difference for our loved ones and the time is now.

  36. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Be careful what you are doing and where you are going. People are watching us and seeing what we do how we act. If you can’t see or talk or do without hiding then you shouldn’t be doing it.

  37. More Hope In Unity

When the church stands together in unity, it gives us greater comfort in the salvation of the Lord and edifies every member together. When we are together, we are MORE than we could be individually. Together, hope grows to see all of what God has ahead for us.

    Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

  38. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” One should be cautious with advice from someone that freely gives it, yet does not live according to (all) the word of God (Jesus). One is however very wise to heed the word of God, and the man of God. Dear God, help me to see; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  39. 17 Pray without ceasing

Prayer is the means by which we communicate with God. Many times we come to the Lord in prayer for our needs and the needs of others, for guidance, for counsel, provision, but what happens when all things are going right and blessing seems to abound? Sadly some just stop seeking God. No more prayer. If the Lord was saying it, even though Paul wrote it by inspiration of the Holy Ghost, don’t stop talking to me he would say Through this scripture. Don’t stop telling God about your day
Whether good or bad. Don’t stop telling him about the great things he has done and the ones to come. The only way to have a relationship is to communicate. More prayer means more connection with God. Don’t stop talking with Him. Don’t stop praying..

  40. So many excellent verses….
    Pray without ceasing.
    Brethren, pray for us. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17, 25‬ KJV)

It’s time for us to set the city ablaze with four-40 and with the 40 days of fire!

  41. v23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Its a miracle of GOD how HIS Church stands glorious and persevered..
Come what may LORD help us to be unshakably committed secure and pure unto YOU.

    MORE COMMITTMENT

  42. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.

(‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8, 13-18‬ NLT)

I’m thankful for God’s word. As we read this portion of the New Testament it seems to fit hand in glove with where POFW is right now. Spiritually it feels like a pivotal moment, a shift. And physically the church is at a pivotal moment. The body is coming together in unity and harmony. The scriptures that we have been reading encourages us urges us to live peacefully. And to live for the faith love and confidence in ourselves vision. To be patient with one another and to bear the fruit of the spirit with one another. #Four40likeneverbefore #more2015

  43. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬ NLT)

It’s when you are not on guard that the enemy will try to attack. We need to stay alert and be ready for anything that may try to come against us.

  44. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
