1 Timothy 2

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

  1. True Christianity is a selfless act of prayer for all mankind.

    I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭1-5‬ NLT)
    Our nation is in need of a powerful move of GOD!
    We are so lost in sin, and this nation will continue to go downwards if we the church stop praying for our loved ones, our city, our state, our government, our president, ect.
    America needs to be healed, needs to be restored, needs to be made whole. America needs to go back to the Rock Jesus Christ. Without Him there is no other way.

    It’s time to take what we have seemed to have lost. We have to many casualties in the church. And I know that as for me I want my child home and in her right mind!! I am not the victim, I am the VICTOR!!!!
    No wait a second….. POFW WE ARE THE VICTOR THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!!! This battle can only be won in Prayer.

    If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ KJV)

  2. Even in public.
    1 Timothy 2:8
    Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.

    This is a verse that isn’t practices as much today as it was in the times it was written. Men are instructed to prayer everywhere with hands that aren’t tainted with anger and dissension. We must have clean hands while praying. Furthermore, Paul instructs men to pray everywhere. Thank God for people who pray in public. We need more of it. We need more apostolic prayer in public. Prayer that is laced with authority, sincerity, and power. Not the weak bow our heads in silence prayers we often see, but boom shakalaka prayers that tear down strongholds. Thank God for Holy Ghost prayer and may it be even more so in public.

  3. Holy hands of Prayer

    8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    We as men are suppose to be leading in prayer. We are called to the front of the battle to do the work of this kingdom. No righteous man will send his wife to the front of the battle with him in the background throwing rocks! Pick up a sword and a shield this morning and get in the battle.
    My house will be called the house of prayer!

    Go Pray!
    440!

  4. 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

    Hallelujah Jesus I pray for my husband being the household that you made lead Him Jesus in all his decisions that He may take! I cover my husband Jesus with your blood that He may overcome and conquor any situation that may be trying to hinder Him. And that you may help me be submissive to Him because that is how you commanded a marriage to be. Help me be that support that he needs Jesus and that we may be able to follow your will and be in one accord!
    Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is appropriate for those who belong to the Lord. (Col 3:18)

  5. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

    4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    Some times you meet individuals and you wonder, do I tell them about Jesus? We make assumptions about them according to there appearance. we see them with all this face jewelry or smoking or others things and we think, oh they would hear what u have to say. God is no respector of persons and that his love is all encompassing.
    All men need salvation and all men need to come to knowledge of the truth. Let’s be obedient and let God do his divine work.

  6. 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

    6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

    The will of God is for all men to be saved! In order to be saved (a part of the kingdom of God, ready to meet God) we must know the truth. The truth is important for us to overcome the sins of the world, but first we must acknowledge what is going on in our lives.
    We must strive to enter in at the strait gate and see ourselves the way we are. Truth is important for us in our everyday life, not just one God and the plan of salvation, but our words and actions. We must lift up Jesus Christ everyday as we journey through this world and accept truth before we can correct our short comings.
    Know who and what we are!

  7. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
    I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭5, 8‬ KJV)

    JESUS! When we pray it is Jesus. The author and finisher of our faith is Jesus. The reason we live is Jesus. The reson we have ipray weekend is Jesus! Jesus be glorified and magnified.
    Lord help us to be a people who are set apart. Ones who are blameless and full of the Spirit. Let us be full of love, compassion, and faith when we pray. Help us to forgive quickly and completely that you might receive more glory and honor.

  8. MORE PRAYER

    1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
    2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
    4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    The charge of the Apostle is “FIRST of ALL”
    supplications – petitions
    prayers – requests
    intercessions – on behalf of
    giving thanks – appreciation

    be made for all men.

    What kind of Church is The POFW when we think and act according to this SPIRITUAL charge?

    An anointed army of believers will arise and take dominion over every thing that is not of GOD.

    The Apostle continued and addressed the priest of every home.
    8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    Men PRAY everywhere! If you cannot PRAY there, then don’t GO there.

    GOD is raising up an Army for HIS Kingdom and the eternal takeover and we must be compelled to pray one for another.

    iRepent
    iPray
    iPraise
    iWork
    iGIve

  9. 1 Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them.

    2 Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord.[a] 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 for he longs for all to be saved and to understand this truth: 5 That God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, himself man, is between them to bring them together, 6 by giving his life for all mankind. TLB

    Influence as many people as we can through prayer – especially those that rule over us. Then we have laws that reflect Christain values, rather than have Hollywood tell us our values. And I also pray for the religious leaders as well, so that they too come to the knowledge of this truth and the congregations that they lead will also receive it.

  10. It is our duty as a Holy Ghost filled Christian to be conscious of those around us, and lift them up in prayer. We must out-reach and in-reach continually. It does us no good to win people, if we don’t connect to them, intercede for them until Christ is formed in them, and they can stand on their own.

    Too many times we have our eyes on “us” and what we need, what we desire, it’s all about us. God is calling all of us out of that mentality to become Kingdom minded, like Jesus – always reaching for others. If we can see them through “Prayers Vision” we will see it happen in reality.

    1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

    2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

    4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

  11. 4, “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
    5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
    6, “Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

    2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

    It is not the Lord’s will that any man should perish. He died for all of us. He wants all men to repent, be saved, and come to the truth.

    It’s up to us to tell them. We have Work to do.
    MORE Work for the Kingdom!

  12. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

    10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

  13. Amen
    1 Timothy 2:8
    i will therefore that men pray every where lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting.

  14. 6. Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

    He didn’t have to be told to go to the cross or forced to give His life for us but did so willingly because of His great love.

    John 15:13
    Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

  15. I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ NLT)

    And my heart breaks for those of my old framers that are in prison or that have wasted their lives for this world. I could have showed then true love and thre salvation. But I was so stuck in my own thing then.
    This world needs us to pray for them they may not need to know that we are praying for them but we should. Cause with out us praying they may not ever have a chance to know JESUS like we know him.
    With out our prayers this world will perish. We should pray MORE for the people we met at our jobs, school, outreach.

    Jesus help me be more sensitive.

  16. 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

    we must pray for everyone, even those that use and abuse us for their own gain.

  17. 1 Timothy 2:1 I urge you first of all that petitions prayers intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and plkeases God our savior who wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of truth.

  18. iLove to eat MORE Word

    1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

    This is a great scripture to teach us that we need to always pray for our government and those who are in authority over us. Alot of folks are anti government. One thing is for certain, that no matter what the political party you like, in politics they all need prayer. It is the will of God to Pray for the peace of our country.

  19. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    We need to be passionate and committed in our praise to our heavenly Father, for he deserves our praise. And he deserves all of our praise, not our half hearted praise, but us giving 100% into who he is, our God and Savior. And we need to be confident in our praises to God, for other people watch us when we praise God, new believers won’t follow someone who isn’t completely committed, remember you are an example to others

  20. 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth

    What is God’s will towards men?

    King James Bible 2 Peter 3:9
    The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

    John 14:6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

    God is the Truth.

    So we see how God, our Lord Jesus, wants us to pray for all men, those in authority those in leadership those who we influence… He wants us to intercede. Our prayers can reach places that we don’t know about. God’s will is that all come to repentance and establish a relationship with him, Known Him, know the truth. There is a world to reach, let’s these down the barriers, and break new ground through prayer.

  21. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    As men we are the pillars of the church, which means we should be a strong foundation for our church. We should have a strong communication with God, to the point that whatever we are doing, wherever we go or wherever we are, we should be committed to Him and prayer. Being committed to God is trying to be like Him, pleasing Him in everything and trusting Him with our lives, not just on Sundays or the days we go to church, but every single second, minute, hour and day of our life. We must remember that we are His temple and God is coming soon for us! not the building. MORE FOUR40!

  22. A man’s holiness

    1 Timothy 2:8 (KJV Strong’s)
    8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    Wrath – anger, the natural disposition, temper, character movement or agitation of the soul, impulse, desire, any violent emotion, but esp. anger anger, wrath, indignation anger exhibited in punishment, hence used for punishment itself

    Doubting – (Olive Tree Enhanced Strong’s Dictionary) the thinking of a man deliberating with himself a thought, inward reasoning purpose, design
    a deliberating, questioning about what is true hesitation, doubting disputing, arguing

    How is this known? Can you see someone who is doubting? Can you see the doubt? Can you see the anger, or wrath when their hands are raised?

    In most cases you cannot see wrath and doubting when hands are being raised in a church service. Most people don’t raise their hands and praise with a scowl on their face.

    This reveals that holiness for a man is focused more on the inward man than the outer. I am not diminishing the importance of outward holiness.

    To raise holy hands without wrath and doubting requires great introspection.

    This can only be fulfilled through a relationship with God. The inner walk is just as important as the outer. Because only God knows if we are really lifting holy hands without wrath and doubting.

  23. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    Thank you Jesus for this weeks services at dfc. What a great opportunity to gain knowledge about prayer. Prayer is the life line between is and God. The phone line of relationship. Pray is probable ,save the Holy Ghost, the most important access to God that we have. And the most important one at that.

    More prayer.
    More revival.

  24. 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

    10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

    Everywhere in history it shows that when women wore jewelry it was because of power, beauty, and attention.

    But what I believe is being taught in these two scriptures is that a woman’s treasure is her good works.

  25. The beginning of this chapter shows us how important it is to pray for our leaders, those who are in positions of authority and high responsibility. They need to be lifted up in prayer for the Lord to be in the midst of every thought, every decision and every step they take as leaders.

    The end of the chapter reminded me of the most beautiful woman example that the Lord blessed me to have in my life…my Grandma. Lord thank you for showing me through my Grandma what it is to always have a praise on your lips and a prayer on your heart.

  26. I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ NLT)

    Prayer is a mighty weapon. We should be fervently praying for people because prayer changes- it changes lives, situations, misfortunes, pain. Let’s use the weapon God allows us to have and change the world around us!

  27. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour”. The word of God (Jesus) is to be obeyed. Dear God, help me to do what is good and acceptable in your sight; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  28. More Intercession

    1 Timothy 2:1 NLT
    I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.

    We could never run out of people to interced for, and the Lord will lead us to prayer for those who need it. To go deeper into intercession is to go deeper into the heart of God to feel His burden. If we desire to truly intercede as He desires, we must seek His face diligently that we may know Him and His heart more.

    John 15:15
    Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

  29. 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

    No one else has the power to give their life for our sins except Jesus. Anyone who is willing to lay down their life for you, is showing love at its finest. Through his death, we now have a chance at eternal life. Thank you Jesus for giving us a chance at freedom from this world.

  30. Authority !!!! 1. I EXHORT therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. Ezra 6 : 10 3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; I am victorious through Christ Jesus !!!! Jesus you are Awesome !!!! I Glorify you !!!!
