1 Timothy 6

1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

  1. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.

Things are going to get worse before they get better.

I understand this chapter really well. We should uphold the man of God because he’s has the good nees in his hand.. listen and do what he says or tells us because he speaks God’s Word. He’s our brother and we have to appreciate what he tells us because of the gospels sake. I have a bad habit of listening to others before I listen to the pastor…thats pk for a time and season but the pastor is the one to listen to.

Is it worth it? No. I want to go to heaven believe on the Word and the messrnger of God who sends it to us.

    I love you, Jesus MORE.

  2. 1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

Servant hood is a place we should always be found in. It is a place from which we learn to minister to the needs of others. It is I believe a part of God’s plan to work through those who submit themselves to apostolic authority.

For those of us who were privileged to witness the installation of Bishop Foster it was more than a service, it was a supernatural impartation of apostolic authority. I truly believe that the Lord is please with those that honored the “Man of God”.

    Guard your thoughts!
    Be sensitive in prayer!
    Know the voice of God!
    Obey the word of God!
    See & experience great revival!

  3. NLT 1 All slaves should show full respect for their masters so they will not bring shame on the name of God and his teaching. 2 If the masters are believers, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. Those slaves should work all the harder because their efforts are helping other believers who are well loved.

There are many workers who show no respect to their managers/supervisors. You should work with a Christian attitude, show your supervisor you have God in your life. By showing honor and respect to your supervisor, they in turn will do the same. A non-believing supervisor, is always looking for your weakness, looking for a dent in your armor to attack your spiritual weakness.

Let us always give 100% effort at work, be committed not only at your job, but also to the Lord!

  4. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

We are warned by the Apostle Paul to flee the desire to be rich and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. If we follow after these things, we will find that laying hold on eternal life will be attainable.
Fight the good fight of faith, this is what we all must strive to do. Most people have a hard time fighting this fight, because we let things get in our way. The ultimate goal is to make peace with Jesus Christ and we can if we armor ourselves with the Spirit of God.
There are some things we will need to flee and other things we will need to embrace. The question is what can we do with what God has gave us and can we keep his commandments without spot, unrebukable.
There must be more desire to move forward in God than to move forward in self.

  5. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

To possess godliness to the fullest, one must also be content in obeying and serving the Lord. If one is not content is he truly like Jesus. Contentment is a character trait of Jesus.

  6. Verses 11-12 MSG “But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life—a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses.” This reminded me of a song I love called “I will Run”:
    Only Your grace
Only You can set me free

    Only Your love
    Has captured my heart
    I hear You calling
    Come come come

    So I will run
    Forever I will run
    Unto You oh God
And now You have my heart
So I will I will run
    Forever I will run
    Run to You oh God
    Where else can I go
    Forever I will run

Verses 20-21 MSG “And oh, my dear Timothy, guard the treasure you were given! Guard it with your life. Avoid the talk-show religion and the practiced confusion of the so-called experts. People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the whole point of faith. Overwhelming grace keep you!” Run away from the sin of this world and toward the mercy seat of God, this will help you guard your eternal treasure.

  7. iLove to eat MORE Word

    More Unity and Less Quibble
4Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding.Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions.

This scripture is yet another in the long list of verses that promote the power of unity. We as servants of the Lord, must always remain free of unhealthy desires to quibble.

Quibble defined means:an instance of the use of ambiguous, prevaricating, or irrelevant language or arguments to evade a point at issue.

Less Quibble and More Unity. Some folks are just too smart for common sense. :0

  8. 12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

He never promised it would be easy; in fact, he warns us that it will be a fight, but the reward is eternity in the Heavenly Kingdom!

    2 Timothy 4:7-8,18
    7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    18. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

  9. Amen
    1 Timothy 6:12
fight the good fight of faith lay hold on eternal life whereunto thou art also
called and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

  10. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate
It is God’s will that his people prosper as our soul prospers. He gives us the riches to enjoy but he expects us to be rich in good works and willing to give to others and be charitable. If we keep this right spirit and attitude about money God will bless us.

  11. Anyone who has a different teaching does not agree with the true teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that shows the true way to serve God. This person is full of pride and understands nothing, but is sick with a love for arguing and fighting about words. This brings jealousy, fighting, speaking against others, evil mistrust, and constant quarrels from those who have evil minds and have lost the truth. They think that serving God is a way to get rich. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭3-5‬ NCV)

What stood out the most was verse 5 which says “those who have evil minds and have lost the truth.” The battle is right between our ears. Let encourage thoughts of the Lord.

Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ NCV)

  12. MORE gain

    1 Timothy 6:5-6 (KJV Strong’s)
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Godliness – (Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary) eusebeia (εὐσέβεια, 2150), from eu, “well,” and sebomai, “to be devout,” denotes that piety which, characterized by a Godward attitude, does that which is well-pleasing to Him.

Contentment – g0841. αὐτάρκεια autarkeia; from 842; self-satisfaction, i.e. (abstractly) contentedness, or (concretely) a competence: — contentment, sufficiency.
    AV (2) – sufficiency 1, contentment 1;
a perfect condition of life in which no aid or support is neededsufficiency of the necessities of lifea mind contented with its lot, contentment

The word contentment is the same word as the word sufficiency in 2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV Strong’s)
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

We do not abound ((Mounce’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and) to be over and above, to be superfluous) by gaining riches, wealth, and money.

We abound when we are godly and content. Or rather when we are living a life of holiness unto God and recognize he has given us sufficiency in all things.

Yes money will come but that cannot be the focus or we end up like the fallen brethren it speaks of in this chapter that suppose godliness is gain.

    1 Timothy 6:10-11 (Amplified Bible – AMP)
10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with manyacute [mental] pangs.
11 But as for you, O man of God, flee from all these things; aim at and pursue righteousness (right standing with God and true goodness), godliness (which is the loving fear of God and being Christlike), faith, love, steadfastness (patience), and gentleness of heart.

The Key to More gain is in correct posture with God. We seek him and his kingdom FIRST and he will add to us all the things necessary.

Ephesians 3:20-21 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
20 Now to the One who is able to do beyond all things, superabundantly beyond and over and above those things that we are asking for ourselves and considering, in the measure of the power which is operative in us, 21 to Him be the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus into all the generations of the age of the ages. Amen.

  13. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Let us be content with the provision God gives us. In our world today it’s easy to fall into the temptation of desiring frivolous and unnecessary things because of the barrage of media and advertisements telling us we “need” these things. But God has proven to be a capable provider. Godliness with contentment is great gain, whereas godliness without contentment is great loss.

  14. 1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

    Wow!
Bishop Wright said last night that you are not under authority if you can’t take no for an answer. If your not under authority you do not possess authority. Jesus said not my will but thine be done. His flesh didn’t want to do what was being asked of him but even unto death he was obedient and reserves the greatest power of all. This scripture describes it a little different and the understanding of it is amazing. You are a blasphemer if you don’t do what your told. If you cannot submit you have called God and the doctrine a lie. This is serious! We have to always take instruction as life and death priorities because it is.

  15. MORE TRUTH

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Often believers get caught up in questions that challenge our belief system. We must know the voice of GOD to be able to identify the will of GOD. The apostle Paul has charged Timothy with with Keeping that (TRUTH) that is committed to his trust. To KEEP something means to take possession of IT. To defend IT. To always know where IT is. To not leave IT unprotected.

Questions that cause us to seek out science or profane and vain babbling distract us from understanding the TRUTH even clearer and deeper.

We are wise to not allow questions to cause us to veer from seeking, knowing and defending MORE TRUTH.

  16. 6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.

Too many times we get caught up in our own “goals” and life plans that we lose sight of the real meaning we are here. I’m not saying don’t plan, I’m not saying don’t have goals in your life. I’m saying that to ensure in all your plans that God is first.

11 But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.

The scriptures says to pursue righteousness and a Godly life!

  17. 11 But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

The battle lies in our minds. We must keep good distance from temptations of this world and pursue after God and the fruit thereof. We may think just once or just a little but that’s how everything starts, good or bad, with just one little time. Run after God as if your life depended on it, oh wait it does! I’m chasing after You God!

  18. 21 People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the whole point of faith. Overwhelming grace keep you! MSG
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.KJV

Don’t get so caught up in gossip that you lose the whole point what we are are suppose to be doing. Words are not something we just say to hear ourselves talk, words have real power. Our words have the power to build up or tear down. Pro. 12:6
Are we building people up or tearing them down? Are we filled with Love/Hate, bitterness/blessing, lust/love, victory/defeat? What is your life filled with today? I rather have love, blessing and love and victory and do what I am called to do than to have these other things in my heart. I don’t believe we will go to Heaven harboring defeat, hate, lust and bitterness in our hearts. There is no way God can dwell in our hearts with the stuff that don’t belong there. Its time we clean out our hearts and fill it up with the fruits of the spirit and be God like. If we have things in our hearts that don’t belong how are we gonna witness to someone when we have the wrong attitude? God help us to be christ like!

  19. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Let us not fall into temptation for the love of money is the root of all evil.

  20. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

God never promised that everything would be easy for us. If we want to get through every storm, and get to heaven we must fight the good fight of faith! We need MORE faith added unto us each and every day!

  21. “But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.”
    (1 Tim 6:11 ESV)

The verses above (9 & 10) show what we are to flee from. Those who live for God need to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, consistancy, and gentleness. These things correlate with the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23). Let us truly die to self desire and put on the person, Jesus Christ. May we be transformed (metamorphed) into his image. This is the will of God, to be conformed into HIS image. (Romans 8:29; Gen 1:27)

  22. Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6-7‬ NLT)

Life isn’t living. Life is knowing God.

So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭8-9‬ NLT)

What is true joy or hope? Where can it be found? Is it a promise of golden streets? Is it in escaping the fires of hell? No. All things are worthless in view of the surpassing value of simply knowing God and being known by Him. Oh, that I may know Him! To one day
see the Savior who purchased my life by His very own blood, to see the King who suffered to die for a sinner like me…

    He is enough

  23. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

What are we doing if we choose to follow after anything else? righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. not title or fame we should not be seeking to be known but instead to know the fruits of the spirit and to know God. when we follow after God with all of our hearts then everything else seems so small….

  24. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Thank you Jesus for the small things. Those things that we tale for granted. As Americans in general we take so much for granted. Then when you add that we go to church and expect God to fulfill every desire that we have. We can become complacent with life. We don’t really struggle to eat. And have clothing. Yet we must understand that at the end. The only thing that matters is eternal life through Jesus. Our soul will live on but our flesh will die.

    More revival
    More eternal life
    More thankfulness.

  25. 1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

In our everyday life our goal should be from victory to victory. Fighting the good fight and hold on to our goal to have eternal life with God.

  26. NLT of 1 Timothy 6:9-12
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

Timothy is instructed by Paul that because he is a man of God, he is to run from alll the evils that the love of money causes. He is to stay righteous and live a godly life. He is to keep fighting the good fight for the true faith and to hold onto eternal life. So many others have been drawn away from the faith because of the love of money. It has lead them into temptations which has lead them to ruin and destruction and many sorrows in life.

So, let’s be content with the things that God has given to us and keep fighting the good fight of faith and living a godly life.

  27. Fight !!!! 11. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Jesus you are my God and I worship you !!!!! You are my defender, provider, healer, deliverer. redeemer and so much more !!!!

  28. 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

My bridegroom is coming, He is the Only living God!!!! Thank you Jesus may our oil lamp have plenty as we await your return.

  29. “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.” Paul warned of those that were “in it” for self only. Unfortunately there are still many today that are “in it” for self, either for wealth or for status. Dear God, help me to die to self so that you may live; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  30. Be careful!!!

But if anyone teaches otherwise and does not assent to the sound and wholesome messages of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and the teaching which is in agreement with godliness (piety toward God), He is puffed up with pride and stupefied with conceit, [although he is] woefully ignorant. He has a morbid fondness for controversy and disputes and strife about words, which result in (produce) envy and jealousy, quarrels and dissension, abuse and insults and slander, and base suspicions, (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭3-4‬ AMP)

This causes not only division in the church, but, most of all division in the family! It is important to stand upon TRUTH at all times. Don’t settle for false doctrine or teachings of today’s ideas and “ways” of living! Remember:

And if a house is divided (split into factions and rebelling) against itself, that house will not be able to last. (‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬ AMP)

I’m blessed to attend a church that continues to pray for me, love my sisters in CHRIST💞💞

Thank you JESUS💙 standing on your word!

  31. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

God is not against the rich people.  He came and died for all.  What is clarified through the scriptures though, is that the love of money, is the root of all evil.  A man can get so caught up and distracted by the lust that acquired possessions can be, and lose themselves.  Their only focus becomes to get more money to get more things.  God wants us to get more of Him.  Timothy is instructed to teach the rich not to be proud…  We see that ugly sin, the same one that the satan dealt with, pride..  The KJV says highminded.  The thing is that people will trust in their money more than God.

Timothy is instructed to teach the rich what to do with what God has blessed them with. To use it to do good and be generous to help those in need.

If we think about it? What is money good for if we are not gonna take anything while we live.  Yet our actions, what you may do with it, how you may help others, found the work of the kingdom, will be remembered.

    I’m reminded of the scripture

Acts 10:4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

After all, Everyone needs a teaching on giving.

  32. Pure Truth

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

    1 Timothy 6:20 NLT
Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge.

    1 Timothy 6:20 AMP
O Timothy, guard and keep the deposit entrusted to you! Turn away from the irreverent babble and godless chatter, with the vain and empty and worldly phrases, and the subtleties and the contradictions in what is falsely called knowledge and spiritual illumination.

We must be careful to guard our hearts against things that would taint the truth hidden in our hearts. There are plenty of resources and individuals out there who would give us either faith-flavored ideas or refutes that in actuality undermine the truth of God’s Word. Some are aimed at “building faith” and others at opposing it, but both come laced with lies that are poison to our soul. Just as Eve learned in the garden and Jesus faced in His earthly ministry, the devil has no problem getting into a spiritual discussion and quoting scripture. But there’s a saying: “You don’t have to attend every argument you’re invited to.” We must learn to live by this wisdom and walk in the knowledge of the Word to avoid the subtlety of the enemy’s deception and avoid situations in which we would open ourselves to those lies.

    Psalm 119:11-16
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

  33. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

  34. 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

  35. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

What I learned in this scriputre is that for ,i give myself 100% to my father for ,whatever the results are in life is that pleasing him is what I choose to do with my life for him, also for I walk in faith with his word and along aside him for eternity, for I walk with my father, I speak my relationship with my father to people for, what he’s done in my life, and for that my commitment is to service the great oh mighty and the everlasting father that,he knows what is best for me in my life but not for what I think I need, but what is best for my plan to walk with him!!!!! In Jesus Name!!!!

2 Corinthians 7:16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Numbers 12:6 he said, Listen to my words: When there is a prophet among you I , the lord reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams

  36. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Living in a world where every minute there is someone trying to show us how to get rich and enjoy what those riches have given them. They tell us that they are stress free and have no worries because they have no debts, drive the most luxurious cars, have the most beautiful homes, and they are happy. My question is why is there a report almost everyday about some rich or famous person overdosing on drugs, committing suicide, or going crazy and their explanation is that even though they have it all there is still something missing in there lives. Thank you Lord cause we are rich in you and you provide for everything we have because you are the King of Kings and we are your children. You are all we need Lord.

  37. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Because we have the Holy Ghost, we can see through the lies of the world. We are enabled to live above and beyond our temptations by the grace of God!!

  38. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Keep that which is that which is committed to thy trust…

I know that I haven’t yet kept that which was trusted to me. How about you?

  39. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

Last week in Wednesday Warriors we discussed how many people you wanted to put in the car with you when you go to heave. It’s powerful! The only things they kept saying was that you can’t really drive to heaven. They realized how silly it was to expect ro be able to take something intothe l hobby

  40. For the Love of Money

How much is enough? This question is raised often in Scripture. Ecclesiastes 5:10 sys the one who loves money will never have enough. I’ve had to ask myself this question before; is money worth my God given time, talent and treasure that I could be using for the kingdom? The man who was given one talent held onto it because he was afraid to lose it, and Jesus says in Mat 25:28“ ‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags.29For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.” Money can help build up, solve financial problems and pays for the commitments we make. This is why we tithe and give offering, we putting ourselves under submission to God’s requirement of us to give from what He gives to us. We make money but we understand that it all belongs to God who will supply all our needs. Our help does not come with dollar signs but with the Holy Ghost who is our Comforter.

Paul says the well-being we long for will never come from money but from inside our souls when godliness is united with contentment (vs6). The word he uses for contentment means “enough, an inner sufficency” (2 Co 9:8; Php 4:12). But there are enemies of that inner soul sufficency, Paul warns. Spending our lives accumulating things is a short term, point goal (vs7). Wanting to be rich opens up many avenues of temptation (vs9). Loving money can lead to evil choices (vs10). Contentment and seperation are the best way to gaurd our souls from the ruin that love of money and possessions can cause. Instead of storing up riches for ourselves, we are instructed by Paul to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life (vs 18-19). As incredilbe as it seems, it’s possible to build, from this life, a foundation that will stand the test of God’s judgment. Paul says we can build things now that will endure eternally (1 Co 3-10-15). We build that foundation by our good deeds and generousity. A character of a man can be discovered by how he treats others with generousity who can do nothing for him in return. Paul is concerned for those who are not wealthy but who want more, and he speaks to those who are wealthy in this life. The best thing to do with earthly wealth is to trade it for treasure that cannot be taken away once this life is over. We have been given the power to influuence and effect our future and the future of the lives of those we touch, and to spend it wisely.

  41. Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions. These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭4-5‬ NLT)

If it isn’t supported by the word of God (the only word that matters) then just ignore it. Anything that is not of God will cause division because that’s what the devil loves. The devil would love to cast confusion into the minds of the people who should already know truth. Guard your minds and your hearts.

  42. Make sure you are chasing the right thing, or following God’s will…………….

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

    “Run the right race”……………….

  43. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Verse 10 is often misquoted in the fact that money itself is not evil, but it is the love of money that brings the evil attitude. The Lord is our provided, He cares for the very sparrow that falls to the ground. He provided daily for the Israelites as they marched around the wilderness manna. He will provide what we have need of. There is not need for us to get caught up in the trap of making money, to just spend money, and live highly. If we will live moderately, and give the time that we spend making monies we don’t need, God will honor our sacrifice and take care of not only our needs, but some of the wants that He sees fit to provide.

We are commissioned in John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Always fulfilling the need for more money, more money, is a sign of loving the world and the things therein.

We must turn our attention to Heavenly things and get our priorities in line with Kingdom priorities.

  44. 1) Let as many servants as are under the yoke counts their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

I thank God that he gave us a passionate and Strong willed shepherd to follow, and I pray that God helps me to follow him whole hearted

  45. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Unfortunately we need money. I notice it wasn’t talking about rich people but people who’s personality and attitude and language is consumed by the acquiring, making, or storing up a fortune on earth.

They came be spotted by the wearing of costly apparel, flashy styles, FB pictures of $100 dollar bills, the bigger than life all about me attitude. Having no fruit of godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness, or give God any credit or glory.
We are to flee, run away, from these things, and just like the Lord’s Prayer says, “deliver us from evil”

  46. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Keep pressing for the mark, don’t quit! It will be worth everything you do to stay in this race.

  47. 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

In many areas in life we have to balance things, one of those things is our way of thinking. You can not be too proud otherwise you become boastful and proud and eventually you will feel like you don’t need God at all. But if you don’t think of yourself enough, then you will be insecure which will hinder your walk with God, so remember to be humble but also proud of who God has made you into.
