2 Timothy 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.

18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

  1. Remember this verse when fighting the battle of your mind. Remind God of his promises, and speak out this verse with “For it is written, in Jesus name, Amen.”

    7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    “We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus”.,,,,

  2. 8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

    11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

    Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus. He openly proclaimed his commitment to the Lord. Even in chains he continued to work for the Kingdom.
    He understood his placed in God’s Kingdom and didn’t back down from it.
    It is imperative that we know God’s plan for our lives to walk in it and see lives changed through the Gospel.
    Paul knew his place and it resulted in many lives being converted to the Lord.

  3. Verses 5-7 MSG “That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith—and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you! And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.”

    Same verses NLT “I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

    Same verses AMP “I am calling up memories of your sincere and unqualified faith (the [b]leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also. That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [[c]with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” It is NOW time to take hold of that baton that is being handed down to us from our older generation and keep the FAITH.

  4. 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

    Our faith, knowledge and belief in God should be passed down to our children. The world is only one generation away from losing out on God if children are not brought up in the love and admonition of the Lord.

  5. 9. Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

    In Christ Jesus before the world began!…let that sink in a minute! There are so many Oneness treasures to find in His Word!

  6. 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

    6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

    Paul could see the great faith that was in Timothy and wanted him to follow in the path of his Grandmother and Mother. Timothy was a young man, which was following after his calling in Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God that was in Timothy also needed to be stirred up by the laying on of hands. The laying on of hands is still used in today’s church, we lay hands on people to see them healed or filled with the Holy Ghost. The power of God is manifest in this day by the ministry laying hands on the saints of God.

  7. iLove to eat MORE Word

    6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    We have to stir up the gift that God has given us. We have to conquer the fear that comes our way. We have a opportunity each and every day to either walk in faith or fear.

    Stir ἀναζωπυρέω
    anazōpureō
    an-ad-zo-poor-eh’-o
    From G303 and a compound of the base of G2226 and G4442; to re-enkindle: – stir up.

    We have to rekindle our relationship with the Lord. We are not waiting on Him, He is waiting on us.

  8. MORE oil

    2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV Strong’s)
    6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

    2 Timothy 1:6 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
    6 for which cause I am reminding you to keep constantly blazing the gift of God which is in you through the imposition of my hands,

    The word stir up means to kindle up, inflame one’s mind, strength, zeal . When Timothy was ordained he had imparted to him authority, and anointing.

    In other words Timothy had to get his mind right, and remind himself who he was and what the gift inside him could do.

    We fall into the trap of the devil’s amnesia. Life’s circumstances come and the enemy preaches at us who we used to be, and not who we are now. We forget about the power, and authority we have over all the power of the enemy.

    We need to stir up the gift, re-ignite the flame, and blaze into glory.

    Luke 3:16 (KJV Strong’s)
    16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

    We do well speaking in tongues, and praying in the spirit but every once in awhile we need to throw some oil (anointing) on the flame of the Holy Ghost and watch it blaze and burn with a fiery passion.

    Like the parable of the virgins we are lamps. When we are connected to a continuous flow of the Spirit the flame burns. The greater the flow (in other words the less of me so that he can use me as a conduit, unhindered) the MORE the fire will blaze.

    If we open up ourselves, die, in complete surrender to the flow of the Holy Ghost we will walk with a blazing fiery inferno catching the world on fire!

    HALLELUJAH!

    Don’t quench the spirit and let the flame die down. Win the battle of the mind by dying so the Holy Ghost can live through us and watch how quickly the fire will spread!

  9. 12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

    When you know in who you believe and in whom you belong to, fear leaves you and you become confident in Him. It is also easy to commit our ways to Him Instead of trying to control everything.

  10. Amen
    2 Timothy 1:6
    wherefore i put thee in rememberance that thou stir the gift of god which is in thee by the putting on of my hands .

  11. 12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

    I know whom I have believed.

    We live in a world that knows of Jesus. They know of his goodness and they have heard of his miracles. They know of him from what they have heard and maybe read. But it’s one thing to know of someone and another to know them. Most of us know of the president because of his position but few know the man. Knowing someone requires time well spent with them. Someone who knows you knows more than what others see about you. You can’t really hide from a person who knows you because they can see the pain behind a smile, the reason behind tears. To know the one in whom we believe requires us to spend time with him. Time in prayer, time in reading, getting to know his voice. I need to know in whom I belive and not just know of him.

  12. I am calling up memories of your sincere and unqualified faith (the leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also. That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭5-7‬ AMP)

    This scripture is very speacial to me because my sweet Mamma Channult prayed over me and quoted this passage of scripture. I feel that there’s a shift in the atmosphere within the last couple of weeks. And God is doing is great things. He has chosen us for this hour to go out and set the world ablaze. Go out with a spirited power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

  13. NLT of 2 Timothy 1:13-14
    Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me – a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

    We need to hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching that we have learned, and carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to us.

    Hold on to wholesome teaching!
    Carefully guard the precious truth!

  14. 7 For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.

    8 Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;

    9 who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal ASV
    I have always had the fear of letting people of the love and power that our God has done for me. Yea i know you are thinking it is hard to believe that i was a quiet person, but i really was. I was raised in the church but wasn’t raised that it is right or okay to voice what i thought about things or had questions. But since I have been at POFW i know for certain that we are suppose to be spreading the wonderful news of our Lord and Savior. We all have a testimony we can share with someone. Don’t hide and let fear hold you back. It’s time to step up to the front and let all we come in contact with and spread the gospel, you never know who is waiting to hear what we have to tell.

  15. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    The Lord knew that I needed to be reminded for in the mist of the storm sometimes fear enters and insecurities settles in ones heart. I am happy to know that He is in control, that there is no need to wake Him, He will calm the winds, and settle the oceans to peace. You are ALL I HAVE, YOU ARE ALL I NEED JESUS CHRIST, MY FRIEND, MY LOVE.

  16. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
    7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    We have the power!

    Thank God for power ,love, and a sound mind.

  17. Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (‭II Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭6-7‬ NKJV)

    Fear is not from God. fear is a spirit we allow in our lives and it can control our lives if we allow it. Only if we allow it but that’s totally up to us. God has givin Us power to over come evil spirits and handed us love and the will of being able to have a spund mind and slef discipline

    I’m thankful for his love.

    MORE PEACE OF MIND.

  18. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    Amen, whom shall I fear when I know God is on my side? No one or nothing!

  19. 8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

    Amen! Be not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ! The enemy likes to give us the sense of fear because he knows how powerful the Word of God is! We don’t have the gospel for ourselves but to be able to share our testimony with others who are bound to the enemies trap!
    Before I came to POFW I was shamed of the gospel and would not testify because I didn’t really know who Jesus is, but my life has turned completely since I came to POFW. I now testify of who He is and what He has done to me with no shame because I know of the great POWER that Jesus has to restore the lost, heal the wounds, and to transform. The only one that can change us is Jesus!!! Hallelujah!!!

  20. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
    10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
    God is my strength! He give us/me strength everday and with everyday is a new life! God is the light of the world and by the word of God we can be a light shining in this world for him!!! 🙂

  21. 2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

    3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

    4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

    Paul is speaking here to his son in the gospel, Timothy. First he gives thanks for the example Timothy has set. Next he reminds him that he has prayed (interceded) for him until Christ was formed in him. Then we see him telling him how much joy Timothy has brought to life by following the example of his grandmother and the principles of God that she instilled in him as a young child. Then he ends with laying hands on him and commissioning him to daily stir up the gift of God within him.

    This is a great example of how our care ministry should treat out new converts. Encouraging them for how far they have come in God, interceding for them until Christ is formed in them, and they are able to stand on their own. Feeling joy at their accomplishments spiritually and then commissioning them to stir up the gift of God in their lives daily.

  22. MORE HOLY GHOST

    6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
    7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
    8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

    Again The Bishop Paul admonishes Pastor Timothy to Remember, Guard and Proclaim the TEACHING that has been delivered to him. Faith, Doctrine and Principal. The charge of the Bishop is to remember to stir up the GIFT of GOD. The HOLY GHOST which is manifest through Faith, Hope and Love in our lives.

    The evidence is revealed through our every day living. As we live in above fear (the FAITH killer) and demonstrate POWER (Authority) LOVE (Forgiveness) and SOUND MIND (Discipline). The 3rd dimension is often the most frustrating to believers.

    Believers often get lazy and want JESUS to think for us. However JESUS seeks to influence our thinking through our own discipline of thought. This is the MORE HOLY GHOST factor in our lives. If we struggle with Commitment, Submission, Obedience, Testifying, Witnessing, Outreach, Teaching Bible Study, Giving, Serving, Praying, Fasting, Personal Devotion, Intercessory Prayer to name a few. Evidence supports the fact that we need MORE HOLY GHOST.

    POWER to overcome any thing, LOVE to endure anything and SOUND MIND to adjust anything.

  23. Whose spirit is it?
    2 Timothy 1:7
    For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

    A spirit of fear is not of God. It is either human or demonic. It is indeed the lack of God. God gives us a spirit of power, love, and self control. Human and demonic spirits can mimic this as well. God’s Spirit, however, will bring self control even to your thoughts. It also brings true 1 Cor 13 love. All imitations are not authentic, therefore not of God.
    We must be careful to know which spirit is influencing us.

    Power in this verse is δυνάμεως (dunameos) which is power or ability. God gives us power/ability to perform his purpose. Those who say, “I can’t do this/it isn’t me” are discrediting the Holy Spirit. Peter, the man who denied Christ, preached to a crowd about that same Christ with boldness. This happened after the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This is the power/ability at work. We can do the same in this world.

  24. The gifts of the enemy

    7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love

    Fear is a gift given by our enemy. He keeps pressing fear on us to keep us from becoming what God has planned. We know that we are more than conquerers and live by it but the new babes in the kingdom suffer from this because they haven’t developed that boldness in the Holy Ghost yet that tells fear to leave. We have to continually build them up so that they understand the power to overcome the fear that is pressed on them.

  25. 4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

    What I learned about this scripture is that whenever, I pray to my father for strength and direction ,wisdom,for that my desire is to save innocent souls for that they can be Baptized in the name of Jesus christ for the remission of sins and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. For that once we are baptized in his name we are fullfiled with his glory and covered with his blood. In Jesus Name !!!!

    38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

  26. 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

    The same ‘unfeigned’ or sincere/genuine faith Paul identifies in Timothy he first saw in his grandmother Lois. She was the first of the family who had been converted. In Acts16:1, we have an account of the family of Timothy: – “Then came he to Derbe and Lystra; and behold a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek.” As the mother of Timothy was a Hebrew, it is clear that his grandmother was also. Eunice, his mother was “a Jewess, and believed;” but her name is not mentioned. In Acts, nothing is said of the father, except that he was “a Greek,” but it is implied that he was not a believer.

    Lois and Eunice’s faithful work in the gospel is what influenced their son/grandson. We too have the power to impact the lives around us. Our ‘unfeigned’ faith will show in our walk with the Lord. People are always curious about what is so different about us. We can use that curiosity to reel in hungry souls for the gospel sake. In ministry we have the opportunity to train up the next generation as Lois and Eunice did, to carry the batton after us.

    Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

  27. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    I remember being taught that the opposite of fear is praise.

  28. 14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

    15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

    We all have received something from the Lord and it’s up to us whether we peruse it even more and let the Lord take us where we need to be so he can show us His great power and wonders. This journey can take a while and may not be easy, but let us not give up or be content with just feeling Him. Let’s be hungry for more and stay the course, cause God will guide us and He is in control. MORE FOUR40!

  29. vs-12
    Paul has no uncertainties. For years he has experienced Gods faithfulness and seen him work in the lives of his converts. Put God to the test by being fully committed to him and all your doubts will be gone to.

  30. 14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

    Even though we have the Holy Spirit within us, we have to guard our hearts and mind. The carnal things of this world, can easily enter our mind. Friends and coworkers who are not believers can easily influence you. God has entrusted us with his Holy Spirit, so let us guard it at all times.

  31. 7) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    God has given us the power to overcome and conquer. We can’t let everyday battles come between us and him. We can do all things through Christ.

  32. “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”. Paul although in the midst of a trial, stated little about self; instead he encouraged Timothy, magnified the Lord (Jesus), and prayed for Onesiphorus. Dear God, help me too comprehend and be as steadfast; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  33. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
    When bad situations come our way we have to remember that God is in control. The sprit of Fear have not come from God but power to overcome whatever your going thru. We are to have love and peace that God will be able to keep you in the midst of the storm.

  34. Whole In Love

    Fear brings torment, bondage, wounding, and death. Fear systematically destroys the good spiritual things that God has for us and will erode our spirit man. But God has not given us a spirit of fear. His love completes us and allows us to be whole, and His perfect love casts out every fear. When fear knocks, it offers an opportunity for us to turn away from God’s love; we must guard ourselves to not relinquish the victory we have in Jesus and to not be deceived by the distortions of fear.

    1 John 4:18-19
    18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

    19 We love him, because he first loved us.

  35. 2 Timothy 1:6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.

    Fan into flames the spiritual gift…we know that oxygen feeds the flames.  Remove the oxygen and the fire goes out.  Sometimes it requires an action for the wind to fan or blow.  You may be thinking.  Has the fire gone or is going out?  Well are you being active creating that wind.  Are you fanning with prayer, and reading, and fasting, and worshiping, and dying to your will.  If we start running towards him with all those things, we will start feeling the wind again.  The faster we go the more wind we feel. The more fire we are about to ignite.    We need that wind of the Spirit to light us up on fire.

    Acts 2:2-4 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  36. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭6-7‬ KJV)

    We are not to live in fear. Anxiety and worry are caused by fear. God has given us love, power, and a sound mind. The bible says that God is love. That means that Gid gave us himself instead of fear. When we get his spirit we then have power which is more if Jesus. A sound mind allows us to think on him clearly. Thank you Jesus for giving us more of you and less fear and worry.

  37. 7 God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    It’s the will of God that His Holy Spirit dwell in us and his power will bring much love and discipline.

  38. 16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

    17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.

    18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
    When we serve the Lord with desire, seeking Him in all places, Saints see that as well. They are encouraged by our love for Christ. Keep up the good work and faith!!

  39. 8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

    Some times the things of God do not sound “normal” to the people in the world so when we go around excited for something that they don’t understand then we end up looking like weirdos. but this scripture follows directly after the scripture that says God has not given us a spirit of fear! because it is an option to be fearful of the critical things that people can and will say about us when we go around believing, proclaiming, and rejoicing about something that they could not possibly understand. instead the word of God says be NOT ashamed of the testimony of our Lord! it doesn’t matter what people think or say because in the end it is the Word of God that is going to judge us!

  40. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    Is is speaking of the Holy Ghost or our own God given spirit?

    Genesis 1:2 tells us that “the Spirit [Hebrew ruach] of God moved upon the face of the waters”. Ruach can also mean “breath, air or wind.” In Job 38, there is the incredble image of God speaking to Job out of the “whirlwind”.

    My idea continues in Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 37:5) of dry bones, where God says, “I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live”. In the New Testament, the word for “spirit” becomes the Greek word pneuma, with the similar of meaning as its Hebrew counterpart. In John 20:22, when the risen Jesus appears to his disciples, John records a remarkable event: “He breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’’” This is a reminder to us of who first breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life.
    They should recognize that the breath of life is a great gift from God, and a powerful biblical metaphor used to speak of His very presence.

    More breathe = More Life = More Jesus

  41. 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

    6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

    Timothy received what his grandmother and mother had. Paul reminded him what he had to encourage him. What do our children have that they have received from us? Love for people, love of this truth, prayer warriors? Remember what is in you and give it to the next generation.

  42. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba father!”

  43. Sound mind !!!! 7. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I AM VICTORIOUS !!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! YOU ARE AWESOME !!!!
