Hebrews 6

1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3 And this will we do, if God permit.

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

  1. 17. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.

    18. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. NLT

While there are many things we had previously put our hope in and been let down, we know that we can put our hope in God’s promises and they are true for all eternity. If you are waiting on a promise from God, hold stedfast; it’s on its way, and His timing is perfect.

    Numbers 23:19, 20
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it ? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. KJV

  2. 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The law is speaking of those that fall away, we should hold the full assurance of hope unto the end. Another place the word teaches us that we should hold the truth firm unto the end. He that endures unto the end shall be saved! We have everything we need to live for God, if we are faithful to the end. We must not be slothful (lazy), but followers of the faithful, the workers of the word of God our fore fathers that blazed this trail before us. Help us Lord to hold faithful unto the end!

  3. 13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swear by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

There is such a blessing in obedience, that even to the end of strife that blessing will continue to fall upon every generation after generation. For God promises are yeah and AMEN and DO NOT HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE.

  4. For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭4-6‬ NLT)

How could we run from what we know is right and pure. How could we neglect wisdom and the mercies of God. To know him and to know the powers and the abilities he has is amazing why would we ever want to run from him. Why?
I couldn’t live with the thoughts of nailing my savior back to the cross again because I wanted my own way, because i wanted to run from blessings. Because I wanted to rebel…

That makes us the murders not the ones that hate him but the ones that know him and the reject his salivation we kill and MURDER Jesus all over again…and again. We will be sentenced and judged surly by our actions when our days are up.

I’m thankful for my savior for opening my eyes and letting me have a another chance of his salvation. For forgiving me when I used to nail him to the cross. Because I wanted to do my own thing. He could had left and token my life and I would had got what I was deserving at that time in life. THANK YOU JESUS. Only you know Lord. only you.

  5. When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.

We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭13-18‬ MSG)

Holding on to the truth, HIS promises, with both hands, and I’m never letting go!!!
My suffering is only temporarily, but my hope In Him is Eternal!

  6. Hebrews 6:4
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and were made partakers of the holy ghost.

we have to have the holy ghost and be babtized to enter into the kingdom of god or if we didnt not have the holy ghost or been babtized it will be impossible to enter the kingdom . Wehave to have faith and peace and more revival too. AMEN

    Hebrews 6:1-2
    (1) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
    (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

What is the Milk of the Word?
    *repentance
    *faith
    *baptism of the Spirit
*baptism in the name of Jesus
    *laying on of hands
    *resurrection of the dead.
    *eternal judgement

If we want the Meat of the Word, we must get these basic principles of the Word down first.

  8. Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.

God has promised us great things, and we have sworn an oath to our KING. Being as solid as an iron anchor to our oath, and leaning on the hope He gives us, will keep us on the tasks He laid before us and ensure us a Holy relationship with Him, separated from the world. Hallelujah!

  9. HALELUJAH

What a great reminder of what Brother Smith said about blasphemy!!!

  10. 7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

  11. Active sin refuses repentance

Hebrews 6:4-6 (Amplified Bible – AMP)
4 For it is impossible [to restore and bring again to repentance] those who have been once for all enlightened, who have consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have become sharers of the Holy Spirit,
5 And have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers of the age and world to come,
6 If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance—[it is impossible] to bring them back to repentance, for (because, while, as long as) they nail upon the cross the Son of God afresh [as far as they are concerned] and are holding [Him] up to contempt and shame and public disgrace.

As long as we choose to remain in sin, choosing a lifestyle contrary to the word, and will of God, it is impossible to be renewed to repentance.

In other words we are saved but when we ourselves choose our sin over repentance there is no hope for us. Unrepentantcy will keep us out of heaven.

This is not because of God not forgiving. This is because when we live like this we refuse to give God the chance to forgive.

Because while we sin we literally take him through the passion all over again. We must first stop sinning, humble ourselves, and repent. When we do this we drop the nails, the hammer, and the crown of thorns. We lay aside the cat of nine tails and the spear.

We stop mocking, and insulting and the cruel suffering of the cross is immediately halted.

There is only one sacrifice for sin. We cannot be sinning and partake of that sacrifice. There is no biblical foundation for once saved always saved.

  12. The longet I live for God the more I lovel Him. Its true for other things in my life as well. Tammy and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary this year. I can truly say I love more now than I ever have.

Once people have seen the light, gotten a taste of heaven and been part of the work of the Holy Spirit, once they’ve personally experienced the sheer goodness of God’s Word and the powers breaking in on us—if then they turn their backs on it, washing their hands of the whole thing, well, they can’t start over as if nothing happened. That’s impossible. Why, they’ve re-crucified Jesus! They’ve repudiated him in public! Parched ground that soaks up the rain and then produces an abundance of carrots and corn for its gardener gets God’s “Well done!” But if it produces weeds and thistles, it’s more likely to get cussed out. Fields like that are burned, not harvested. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭4-8‬ MSG)

The same applies to our relationship with the Lord. We cannot know Him, leave Him and expect to be the same as before. Its not possible.

  13. 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises

God had a plan for us, it’s on his time and not ours that we will see God’s promises come to pass. Keep the faith and be patient .

  14. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

The enlightened were the Oracles of God or the High Priest that possessed the Urim and Thummim in the old testimate. This Urim and Thummim was the only way to communicate with God at that time. Now the Urim and Thummim has been replaced by the I filling of the Holy Ghost and all that are filled are partakers of the same relationship with God that only the high priest would have. This is a great gift but it brings us into a new for of accountability. Anyone with the Holy Ghost will be held as accountable as the high priest. You cannot be a high priest and live in the world. Look at the life of a high priest and how seperate he was unto God. This is how we should live.

  15. He also wants to reassure and guarante by the promise of God that can not lie and that his promise was confirmed with a oath. what a anchor for the soul. This provides for we who believe in Jesus our high priest.

  16. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

    Restore.

As Christians we are sometimes charged with being very just judgemental. And we are. To the extreme. Yes we must be very cautious in how we restore someone. But the fact of the matter still is that we should restore them. We have been told as of late to forgive. Forgiveness is the first step in restoring someone.

    More forgiveness
    More love
    More revival

  17. 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Let’s not be lazy and grow complacent in our walk with Christ, we want to follow him diligently without losing a step in our walk with God. Let’s make sure we keep our faith and our passion for the things of God! When we do, God will reward us for our hard work in his kingdom.

  18. MORE WORK

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Revelation that every Christian Leader should possess is the fact that we are called to SERVE and not to be served. Serving from a heart of LOVE is not strenuous or grievous. It is peaceful, fulfilling and rewarding. As we approach our Christian responsibilities with this mindset we are empowered to serve in the spirit of JESUS.

JESUS being omnipotent and omnipresent knows all levels of sacrifice and commitment, he sees all labor and investment and he hears all words spoken idle or in prayer.

Twice in the epistles or letters from Paul to the churches he encouraged us:

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

2Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

If we are doing well and investing MORE WORK we should also be assured that GOD is taking notice and treasures are laid up for our claiming in the near future.

    iRepent
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  19. 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

We should crucify our flesh daily, and renew ourselves with repentance and the word of God!

  20. 1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

These things we should already know and understand after living for God for some time. It’s time now that we be able to teach these things to others for their conversion to the apostolic doctrine. We understand that receiving the Holy Ghost is the “earnest” of our salvation…the down payment so to speak…then we must go forward from here into perfection. Scripture say we are striving for perfection.

    Commentary:
God’s Word is clear that there is no excuse not to eagerly seek to depart from all forms of ungodliness in our lives…

2 Timothy 2:19, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

We do not claim that we are perfect, rather, we work on areas the Lord shows us to work on!

  21. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

We need to be praying for the backsiders and that God would make us ready for the revival of them that he will send us. They have experienced the glory and have heard and know the truth. With the sings of the end times drawing nearer they will realize and return to God in repentance in Jesus name.Lord I pray that they would open their eyes and see their wrongs and return to you humbly with hearts of repentance in Jesus name

  22. 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

When we do for God, he knows all and he will bless. We shouldn’t do it just for the blessings, God is wanting those who will do kingdom work because they have a heart for it. When we do it from the heart, there are greater things in store for us. Our ultimate reward is to be able to see Jesus face to face and hear him say well don thou good and faithful servant.

  23. 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

God will never forget how hard you have worked for him!!

  24. 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

IN these last days we must not be slack to the work of the Lord. There are those around us just waiting to hear the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  25. 13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

We cannot grow weary in well doing, for in due season, God’s timing He will bring all the promises to pass. We are the heirs of Abraham, the same promises made to him by the Lord, are for us today. We must, like Abraham, wait patiently, enduring until we see those promises come to pass.

  26. When you learn something it stays with you. If you don’t practice something for a length of time you don’t remember to do it as well as you did before. For instance, riding a bike. As a child you learn how to ride it and ride it well. When you grow older you may not ride as much and are not able to perform as well as you may have earlier on. The same applies to the relationships we have with God. We grow in Him and learn to live His lifestyle and sometimes people fall away. When they come back to God, the relationship won’t be the same. The prodical son that returned has a new longing hunger for God that they may not have felt before.

Thank you Jesus for your love.

  27. If you notice, the word impossible has occurred twice in this scripture. So, define the things that are impossible. Once you have tasted the gift of the beautiful gift of salvation and the Holy Ghost, it is undeniable the power of the word that you have in you or experienced. So, please stay in the way (Jesus), redirect, repent, rekindle that fire you once had. Sing unto the Lord, who is worthy of all our praises. Wait, Watch, Listen, and then observe what the Lord’s going to do. Hold to the promise…….

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
    _____________________________________________________________
God won’t forget your hard work, nor will he let your spiritual gifts go to waste. He knows your desires to be used or heard. He gave you those gifts, and he can resurrect dead dreams as well. Your labor of LOVE, toward God, will not go forgotten. YOU ARE LOVED, NOT FORGOTTEN! “Till the End”……………….

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
    ____________________________________________________________
Here in this verse you find the other word “Impossible”, and I remind you that it is written, “It is impossible for God to lie”. You mean, there is something impossible for God to do! Yup!……..”When you are the TRUTH”…. “The WORD”………….

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
    ____________________________________________________________
    But I have another word/verse/scripture indicating the word “Impossible”, see the scripture/verse below;

    Hebrews 11:6King James Version (KJV)

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

“Keep seeking him, he will do his word and reward YOU”……………………….

  28. 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

Here it says that Abraham waited patiently. I’ve always heard that patience was a virtue. I had to be taught the importance of being patient and how to occupy my time while I wait on the Lord’s timing. The world teaches us that if we study hard enough, practice long enough, and manipulate their way they can make it to the top. The trouble is that the journey to the top of the world is lonely and full of pain. Sara, Abraham’s wife decided she wanted to speed up God’s inheritance promise by offering him her handmade. This ended in disaster as the seed of Ishmael became a constant enemy. God as our Father knows when we are ready to advance, the writter encourages us to grow up spiritually. This growing up, and standing firm shows God we are ready spiritually and physically to take on the promises of God in our lives that are certain. Don’t give up!

    Ps 37:3 ”

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”

  29. 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

We need to repent, Die daily , and crucify are flesh

  30. 6) If they shall fall away, renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

We have to die daily with repentance and eat of the word everyday

  31. 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

When we give ourselves to God, His kingdom and help others seeking also for the goodness of others, other than ourselves. God will recompense our work with His blessings on earth and in heaven.

  32. Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬ KJV)

A time to grow up. We are all trying to get more out of he word. This helps us to grow in Christ and not to be exactly like children all the days of our lives.

  33. 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Although there has been much shown, there is so much more, if one will but do. The man of God is paving the way to more, however one must choose to follow.

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Dear God, help me to endure as Abraham; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  34. For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ NLT)

God sees everything that you do for His kingdom. It is important to work together to build up the body of Christ, which includes the new believers. These people need to be cared for just like a newborn does. God will acknowledge your work for these people and so will the new believer.

  35. Apostasy is no hope.

    Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

It is important to observe the grammar in this text. The Greek uses participles to qualify who this text is talking about. It is impossible to renew them into repentance…all of the text in between is qualifying “who” them are. The past tense is used in falling away which denotes that they were once saved or partakers of the faith. Those who deny the faith after following it, I.e. Had the Holy Spirit and now say it was all a sham, are very well in danger of apostasy, if they are not in fact in it already. We must be very careful when dealing with people who can be categorized this way. It is important to always have hope. NEVER write someone as apostate without confirmation from spiritual authorities.

  36. And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

God for I come to you lord, for every situation and I give it into your hands for that you have the power in your hands to do anything jesus, for I have tasted your word God of good and I know that its the most powerful thing in the universe your word can heal the sickness and the disease, for we your children walk in faith and in righteousness for we believe in you and trust in you for we your children are strong with your word, for I ask lord if you can strengthen me throught my prayers and and help me understand your word and grow in faith with you more I need you God more then anything in this word In jesus name!!!

2 Corinthians 7:16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Psalm 39:1 I said, I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the the presence of the wicked.

Need more prayer, need more of the word, need you jesus more then anything right now father!!!!

  37. Verses 18-19 NLT “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” Same verses CEV “God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed. We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us. This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls. In fact, hope reaches behind the curtain[c] and into the most holy place.” Hold onto the promises of God and do not let anything distract you or lead you away from your hope.

  38. Hebrews 6:1͵2
    Striving for Perfection
It is wise to build our lives and ministries upon the solid foundation of Christ’s teaching
Matthew 7:24,25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock :
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house ; and it fell not for it was founded upon a rock.

Luke 1:1 Luke states his purpose and method. He wants to supplement Theophulus’s knowledge of the grounds of Christian. certainty.
    Theophilus means “Friend of God”.

  39. More abundantly !!!! 17. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Lev. 16 : 15 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness !!!!

  40. Hebrews 6:10-11 For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for His name’s sake in ministering to the needs of the saints His own consecrated people, as you still do. But we do strongly and earnestly desire for each of you to show the same diligence and sincerity all the way through in realizing and enjoying the full assurance and development of your hope until the end,

More work… Some people do t like to hear that word, but we all know that work blesse. In this days we shouldn’t feel like what we do is not making any difference and feel that no one cares. It is God Himself who sees all the work and love we do and share. All things we do for the kingdom bring a blessing to us. God is not unjust. He is not just gonna forget and not repay that which you have invested into the kingdom. We must remember that we reap what we sow. And that we must be faithful in well doing for in due season we shall reap.
